The wicking problem, explained. A coil works by heating liquid that cotton has drawn into contact with the wire. Thick liquid moves through cotton slowly. Coils that do not. Tight mouth-to-lung coils above roughly 1.2 ohms with narrow wicking slots. These are designed for thin, high-PG or nic salt liquids and they will struggle badly with a thick base. Priming, done properly. New coil, liquid dripped onto every visible wicking port until the cotton looks saturated, tank filled, then left standing upright for ten minutes.
