Nicotine-Free Vapes

What Nicotine-Free Vapes Are and What They Are Not

A nicotine-free vape is any vaping product that contains 0mg of nicotine. The liquid is built from propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine and flavouring, and nothing else that relates to nicotine strength. This collection gathers the formats UK adults use for that: 0mg e-liquids in everything from small refill bottles to large shortfills, pods and kits that run at 0mg, and the coils and spares that keep them working. The hardware is the same hardware, the flavours are the same flavours and the routine is identical. The only thing that changes is the number printed on the label.

People arrive at 0mg by several roads. Some are adults who vape nicotine and want a lower-strength option for the evening or the weekend. Some enjoy the flavour and the habit of a device in the hand and would rather not take on any nicotine at all. Some are stepping their own strength down gradually and want a landing point at the end of that ladder. We describe those routes because they are common, not because we promise any outcome, and we make no health claims for any product on this page.

It helps to be clear about what nicotine-free does not mean. It does not mean ingredient-free, because the vapour still comes from glycols and flavourings. It does not make the products suitable for anyone under 18, who cannot buy them from us or from any lawful UK seller. And it does not switch off the rest of the rulebook: devices, batteries, labelling and sale rules still apply, which a later section explains.

Treat the sections below as a buying guide. They run from who 0mg suits, through formats, flavour behaviour, hardware compatibility and format comparisons, to UK rules, value, care and recycling. If you want the short version, pick the format that matches the device you already own or plan to buy, choose a flavour family you already enjoy, and buy from a seller who can show you genuine stock.

Who Nicotine-Free Vaping Suits

Zero nicotine is a narrow slice of the market in some ways and a very broad one in others, because the reasons for choosing it vary so much. These are the buyers we see most often.

• The flavour-first vaper. For this buyer the liquid is the point. Without nicotine the throat sensation is milder, so the flavour does more of the work, and a well-made fruit, ice or dessert profile is easier to appreciate across a long session.
• The strength stepper. Some adults who vape nicotine choose to reduce their strength over weeks or months, moving from a higher strength to a lower one and eventually to 0mg. A shelf of 0mg liquids in familiar flavours means the flavour stays constant while the strength changes.
• The occasional or social vaper. If a device mostly comes out at gatherings or after dinner, a nicotine-free liquid keeps the habit without adding nicotine to a day that did not otherwise have any.
• The mixer. Hobbyists buy a 0mg shortfill and add nicotine shots to land on exactly the strength they want, which is cheaper per millilitre and gives full control. Without a shot, the same bottle is simply a 0mg liquid.
• The sub-ohm enthusiast. Larger tanks with low-resistance coils and thinner airflow restrictions produce a lot of vapour, and many enthusiasts prefer 0mg for that style because the quantity of vapour is the attraction.

Who is it less suited to? An adult switching from heavy smoking who wants a close replacement for the nicotine hit may find 0mg unsatisfying on its own, since there is simply nothing in the liquid to supply that effect. Many such adults start on a nicotine salt at 10mg or 20mg and make their own decisions about strength later. Our nic salts and pod collections cover those starting points, and this page is about the zero end of the scale for people who have already decided that is what they want.

One firm boundary applies to everyone: these are products for adults. Age checks are applied on every order, and a nicotine-free label does not change that.

Four Formats: Shortfills, Small Bottles, Prefilled Pods and Refillable Kits

Most confusion on this category comes from the formats, not the flavours. Knowing which format fits your kit removes about half of the decisions.

0mg shortfill e-liquid. Shortfills are sold in 50ml, 100ml and 200ml bottles. Because the 10ml bottle limit in UK rules applies to e-liquid that contains nicotine, a bottle sold at 0mg can be much larger. Some shortfills are filled only part of the way up, leaving headspace so you can add nicotine shots if you choose. For example, 50ml of 0mg liquid plus a single 10ml shot at 18mg gives 60ml at roughly 3mg. Others, especially the 200ml bottles, are sold full, with no room for a shot, and are intended to be used at 0mg exactly as supplied. Check the listing for the bottle volume and whether headspace is mentioned.

0mg refill bottles in 10ml. This is the size most pod kits and small tanks are designed around. A 10ml bottle fits a pocket or a bag, lasts days rather than hours in a small refillable pod, and makes it easy to carry two flavours at once. It is the sensible choice if you are trying a new profile and do not want to commit to a big bottle.

Prefilled pods and closed pod kits at 0mg. These are swap-and-go systems: you click in a sealed pod that is already filled, vape it and replace it. They suit anyone who wants no filling, no coil choices and no cleaning. The trade-off is that pods are specific to their kit, and a pod from one brand will not fit another, so match the pod to the device before buying.

Refillable kits and tanks. A refillable pod or tank gives you the widest choice of liquid. You choose the flavour, the bottle size and the VG/PG ratio, and you can run a 0mg shortfill or a 10ml bottle in it. The cost is a little more routine: filling, priming a new coil and occasional cleaning.

One format you will not find here is the single-use disposable. The single-use vape ban that took effect on 1 June 2025 ended the sale of those devices in the UK market, which is why every device in this category is either rechargeable, refillable or both. If you are used to the old throwaway style, a prefilled pod kit is the nearest equivalent in convenience.

How to Choose: A Five-Step Method

Buying well in this category is mostly a matter of working through the same few questions in the right order. This sequence prevents the usual mistakes: a thick liquid in a small pod, a bottle too large for the device, or a flavour that sounded good and tastes sickly.

• Step one, start with the device. If you own a refillable pod kit, you need 10ml bottles or a shortfill that you decant. If you own a sub-ohm tank, a 50ml or 100ml shortfill is the natural fit. If you own a closed pod kit, you need that kit's own prefilled pods. Never buy liquid first and hope the hardware follows.
• Step two, match the VG/PG ratio. Pod kits and mouth-to-lung devices generally work best with a 50/50 mix, which is thin enough to wick quickly through a small coil. Sub-ohm tanks with larger coils usually pair with 70/30 liquids, which are thicker and produce more vapour. A very thick, high-VG liquid in a small pod coil is the most common cause of dry, burnt-tasting puffs.
• Step three, size the bottle to your habit. Moderate vapers get through roughly 2ml to 3ml a day in a pod kit and more in a sub-ohm tank. A 10ml bottle may last a few days; a 100ml shortfill may last weeks. Choose a size you will finish while the liquid is still fresh.
• Step four, pick a flavour family you already like. Fruit, ice, lemonade and berry profiles are consistently popular at 0mg, and a later section explains why. Trying a single bottle in a new family before committing to a big one is cheap insurance.
• Step five, decide your strength plan. If you want to stay at 0mg, choose any bottle. If you may add nicotine later, choose a shortfill with headspace and keep the arithmetic in the legal section in mind.

Working in that order takes about two minutes and removes most of the returns we see in this category.

Flavour at 0mg: What Changes on the Tongue

Flavour behaves differently when nicotine is out of the picture. Nicotine contributes a bite or throat sensation that sits underneath the taste. Take it away and the vapour feels smoother, which brings the flavouring itself forward. Some profiles gain from that, some lose.

Profiles that tend to do well. Fruit blends such as mixed berries, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, grape, cherry, watermelon, mango and orange have the sweetness and aroma to carry a whole session. Ice and menthol styles give a clear cooling signal that does not rely on any throat hit at all. Lemon, lime and lemonade profiles add a bright, tart edge that keeps sweeter liquids from tiring the palate. Our range runs across all of these families.

Profiles that need care. Heavily sweet dessert and sweets blends can become cloying across a large bottle without any nicotine to balance them, which is a good reason to start with a 10ml before buying a 100ml. Tobacco-style flavours can taste thin or flat at 0mg because part of what makes them read as tobacco is the throat feel that nicotine provides.

Cooling agents and coil life. Ice-heavy profiles use cooling agents that some people find intense. If you are unsure, look for descriptions like light ice or hint of menthol rather than extra ice. Sweet liquids also contain sweeteners that can gradually coat a coil, so expect a heavily sweetened flavour to shorten coil life compared with a lighter fruit profile.

A simple tasting method. Fill the device, take three or four puffs, wait ten minutes and take three or four more. First puffs on a fresh coil can taste off while the cotton wicks properly, and flavour often settles into its true character after a couple of tanks. Judge a liquid after the second fill, not the first mouthful.

Hardware Notes: Pods, Coils and Compatibility

The liquid is only half of the pairing. The device decides how that liquid is heated, how much vapour you get and how long a coil lasts. These are the points that matter at 0mg.

Closed pods. Prefilled pods are brand and model specific. Look at the name of the kit, not just the shape of the pod, and match them. If a listing names a compatible device, use that as the check. A pod that looks similar but is meant for a different generation of the same brand may not seat correctly.

Refillable pods and mouth-to-lung coils. Pod systems typically use mesh or ceramic coils in roughly the 0.6 to 1.0 ohm range, paired with a snug, cigarette-like draw. They are tuned for 50/50 liquids and work well with 10ml refill bottles. Because these devices are designed for UK use with nicotine, most hold around 2ml of liquid per pod, which matches the 2ml tank limit that applies to nicotine vaping. Larger tanks exist but are generally intended for other styles of vaping.

Sub-ohm tanks. Lower-resistance coils, commonly in the 0.15 to 0.4 ohm range and often run at roughly 30 to 80 watts, give a looser draw and a lot more vapour. They want thinner airflow restrictions and 70/30 or similar liquids, and they use liquid faster, which is why shortfills are the economical match. Do not run a high-wattage sub-ohm coil with a thin 50/50 liquid or you may find the coil overheating and tasting scorched.

Batteries and charging. Most modern kits charge by USB-C. Use a decent charger and cable and avoid charging a device unattended overnight in a hot place. A battery that does not hold charge any more is a reason to retire the device and recycle it properly, not to try to repair it.

Priming a new coil. Drip a few drops of liquid directly onto the exposed cotton, fill the pod or tank, then wait five to ten minutes before the first puff. Skipping this step is the usual reason a brand-new coil tastes burnt in its first minute. It is also the cheapest way to extend the life of the coil.

Comparing Formats and Brands Inside the Collection

Our 0mg e-liquid shelf is supplied by a broad mix of houses, among them Doozy, Hayati, Yeti, Caliypso, Bar Series, Bang, Nasty, Nexus, Ohm and IVG. Rather than rank names, which tends to say more about marketing than about what ends up in your device, it is more useful to compare what actually differs between listings.

• Bottle size and fill. Bang is a good example of the large-format approach, with 200ml shortfills sold at 0mg for people who go through a lot of liquid. Other houses sell 50ml and 100ml bottles with headspace. Smaller 10ml bottles suit pod kits. Choose the size that matches how quickly you vape.
• VG/PG ratio. This is stated on the label and usually in the listing. It tells you which hardware the liquid is intended for. Two bottles with the same flavour name but different ratios will behave differently in the same device.
• Flavour library depth. Larger houses tend to offer broad ranges in consistent bottle sizes, which makes it easy to reorder or rotate flavours without re-checking compatibility. Smaller houses may offer narrower lists with a stronger identity. Neither is better by default.
• Flavour intensity. Some bottles are designed with strong, concentrated flavouring and others lean lighter. Read the description. If you are used to a bold nicotine salt liquid, a delicate profile at 0mg may seem quiet, and the reverse can also happen.
• Ice and cooling profile. Many houses offer the same fruit with and without an ice variant. Trying the plain version first tells you whether you want the cooling layer.

For hardware, the comparison is simpler. A closed pod kit gives the easiest routine and the least control. A refillable pod kit gives control at a moderate price and a small amount of upkeep. A sub-ohm tank gives the most vapour and the most upkeep, and runs through liquid fastest. If you are unsure which suits you, start with a refillable pod kit and a 10ml bottle; it is the most forgiving way to learn what you like.

UK Rules That Apply to Nicotine-Free Vaping

UK vaping law is built around nicotine, so it helps to know which rules touch 0mg products and which do not.

Age. Selling vaping products to anyone under 18 is illegal in the UK. We verify age on every order, whatever the strength on the label.

The nicotine limits. Under UK TPD-based rules, e-liquid containing nicotine is limited to 20mg/ml, sold in bottles of no more than 10ml, and used in tanks or pods of no more than 2ml. The same 20mg cap covered nicotine disposables when they were still on sale. Because 0mg liquid contains no nicotine, these strength and bottle limits are not what govern it, which is why shortfills of 50ml, 100ml and 200ml exist at all.

The single-use ban. Since 1 June 2025, single-use disposable vapes can no longer be sold. Devices in this category are rechargeable, refillable or use replaceable pods. Anyone offering a throwaway device at 0mg or any other strength is operating outside the rules.

If you add nicotine shots. A 0mg shortfill with headspace is designed to be topped up with nicotine shots, usually sold in 10ml bottles at 18mg. The resulting mix is yours to manage, and the strength should not exceed 20mg/ml. The arithmetic is straightforward: multiply the strength of each shot by its volume, add them together, then divide by the total volume of liquid. One 10ml shot at 18mg in a 60ml total gives 3mg. Two shots in 120ml gives 3mg again. Never add more shots than the bottle can hold, and shake well to blend the nicotine evenly.

Labels and ingredients. Reputable UK sellers show the strength, bottle volume, VG/PG ratio and batch details on the label. A bottle that hides any of these is a bottle to avoid.

Where you can use it. Workplaces, trains, and other venues set their own vape policies. A nicotine-free vape is not automatically exempt, so follow the signs and ask the staff.

Honest Value Guidance and Buying Tips

Value in this category is mostly about price per millilitre and about not buying more than you will use.

Shortfill versus small bottles. A 50ml shortfill generally costs a small multiple of a 10ml bottle while holding five times as much liquid, so the cost per millilitre is considerably lower. A 100ml or 200ml bottle improves that again. The saving is real only if you use the bottle while it is still fresh, so match the size to your pace. Entry-level 10ml prices are low in absolute terms, which makes them an inexpensive way to test a new flavour before buying large.

Multibuy offers. Many 0mg lines carry multibuy pricing, such as two bottles for a fixed amount. These are worth using to rotate flavours, but check the per-bottle price against the single price so you know the saving is genuine. Free UK delivery applies on orders over £20, and orders placed before 4pm are dispatched the same day for next-day delivery, so a rotation order can often replace several small ones.

Do not over-buy. E-liquid has a best-before date, and flavour can fade as a bottle ages and is opened repeatedly. Store bottles upright, away from heat and sunlight, and finish a large bottle in a sensible time. Two 50ml bottles in different flavours often serve better than one 100ml.

Watch the hardware spend. A kit with a very low price may use coils that are hard to find or expensive to replace. Look at the coil price and availability alongside the device price, since coils are the repeat cost.

Spotting genuine stock. Look for intact tamper seals, a clear batch code, a UK business address, consistent printing and sensible pricing. A branded bottle at a fraction of the usual price is a warning sign, not a bargain. We supply 100% genuine stock from legitimate UK distribution, and if anything arrives that you doubt, contact us with the batch code and a photo.

Returns and warranty. Devices usually carry a manufacturer warranty that varies by brand. Keep your order confirmation and report a fault promptly with the order number and a description. Unopened liquids can be returned under our returns policy, subject to its conditions, while opened e-liquids generally cannot for hygiene reasons.

Care, Maintenance and Recycling

A nicotine-free setup is no harder to look after than any other, but a few habits make flavour and hardware last longer.

• Replace coils on time. A coil lasts roughly one to three weeks depending on how much you vape and how sweet your liquid is. When the flavour turns flat, muddy or slightly burnt even after a refill and a rest, change it.
• Rinse the pod or tank. When changing flavour, empty it, rinse with warm water, dry thoroughly and refill. Ghost flavours from the previous liquid are the commonest complaint after a flavour switch.
• Keep the airflow clean. Wipe the mouthpiece and the base of the device with a dry tissue. Lint and residue in the airflow can cause a gurgling sound or weak draw.
• Fill carefully. Avoid filling past the maximum line and keep liquid out of the central tube, where it can flood the coil.
• Store sensibly. Keep devices and bottles out of hot cars, away from windowsills and out of reach of children and pets.
• Charge sensibly. Use a quality USB-C cable, unplug when full and avoid charging a device that feels hot or looks swollen.

Recycling. Vapes contain lithium batteries and electronics, and must never go in a household bin or kerbside recycling, where they can start fires in collection vehicles and waste sites. Instead, take old devices, pods and chargers to a vape recycling drop-off point. Many household waste recycling centres accept them, and a lot of vape shops and some larger retailers run take-back bins. A postcode search on your local council website or a recycling locator will show the nearest one. Empty plastic e-liquid bottles can usually be rinsed and recycled with household plastics, but check your council's guidance, as local rules differ.
