Overview

The Strawberry Lime Bar Series Gold Edition 100ml Shortfill E-Liquid by Bar Series in Strawberry Lime at 0mg. Free UK delivery over £20, same-day dispatch on weekday orders before 4pm.

Bar Series Gold Edition Strawberry Lime at a Glance

Bar Series Gold Edition Strawberry Lime is a 100ml shortfill e-liquid that pairs ripe strawberry with a sharper citrus edge, supplied nicotine-free in an oversized bottle so you can add your own nicotine shots if you want them. It costs £11.99 on this page, which makes it a straightforward way to stock up on one fruit flavour without ordering a pile of small bottles.

Three things define the product. The first is the format: shortfill, meaning the liquid is sold at 0mg and the bottle is bigger than the 100ml it holds. The second is the flavour: strawberry and lime, a combination built on contrast, sweet against sour. The third is the label. Gold Edition is a sub-range within the Bar Series collection, sitting alongside the standard 100ml flavours at the same price, so choosing between them is a matter of taste rather than budget.

What it is not is a ready-to-use device. There is no battery, no coil and no pod in the box, only liquid. You need a refillable tank or pod system to use it, and you need to be comfortable topping one up. If that sounds like a lot of effort for a bottle of juice, it helps to know that most regular vapers settle into the routine within a day or two, and that refilling usually costs far less over a month than replacing sealed devices again and again.

People tend to pick a bottle like this for one of three reasons. Some want a lower cost per millilitre. Some want a particular flavour in a larger quantity than a 10ml bottle can offer. Others simply dislike the waste that comes with a drawer full of spent plastic. All three are sensible, and none of them needs any special knowledge beyond the basics covered in the sections below.

If you are browsing more widely, our shortfill e-liquids collection shows how other brands lay out their 100ml, 200ml and larger bottles, which is a handy way to see how this one compares before you commit. This product is strictly for adults aged 18 or over.

How a Shortfill Bottle Works and Why It Has Spare Room

Pick up the bottle and the first thing you notice is that it looks too big for what is inside. That is deliberate. Under UK rules, e-liquid that contains nicotine can only be sold in bottles of 10ml or less, at a maximum of 20mg per millilitre. A product with no nicotine falls outside that size cap, which is how a 100ml bottle can exist at all. To leave space for nicotine shots, brands usually fill the container only part of the way, commonly selling 100ml of liquid in a 120ml bottle, though you should always confirm the figures against the bottle in your hands.

The word "short" in shortfill refers to that gap, because the liquid is short of filling the container. If you vape at 0mg, you can ignore the gap completely and fill your tank straight from the bottle. If you want nicotine, you buy shots separately, squeeze them into the headroom, close the cap and shake until the mix looks uniform. Nothing is added for you, and nothing is hidden: the strength you end up with is the strength you chose.

Once the liquid is in your tank it behaves like any other fruit e-liquid. A base of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine carries the flavouring, the coil heats it and you inhale the vapour. The format changes how you buy and prepare the liquid, not how it performs in the device. What it does change is commitment. A 100ml bottle ties you to a single flavour for weeks, so it makes sense to be fairly sure you enjoy strawberry and lime before you order.

A quick note on terminology, because shortfills are often confused with nic salts. They are different products. Nic salts come in 10ml bottles with the nicotine already blended in, usually for compact, low-power devices. A shortfill is nicotine-free and built for you to adjust. Our nicotine-free e-liquids category gathers the 0mg options together if you want to explore beyond this bottle.

Keep in mind that "nicotine-free" describes the liquid as supplied. Once you add a shot, the bottle contains nicotine, so label it clearly with the strength and the date, and store it well out of reach of children and pets.

Strawberry and Lime: The Flavour Note by Note

Start with the strawberry, because it leads. In fruit e-liquid, strawberry usually lands as a sweet, slightly jammy note rather than the tart, fresh-cut character of the real fruit. Expect a rounded sweetness on the inhale that coats the front of the palate. The lime arrives alongside it and does the opposite job, adding zest and a little acidity that stops the whole thing tipping into sugary territory.

A word of honesty: brands rarely publish detailed tasting notes beyond the flavour name, so what follows describes how this pairing generally presents across fruit liquids, not measured properties of this exact bottle. Your own palate is the final judge, and the name alone tells you the two ingredients you can count on.

On the exhale, lime tends to linger a fraction longer than strawberry, because citrus notes have a clean, slightly bitter edge that hangs about. Many people describe the overall effect as a strawberry sherbet or a strawberry and lime soft drink. The name carries no ice or menthol wording, so there is no deliberate cooling sensation. If you prefer a chilled finish, you will want a bottle that says so in its title, since a cooling agent is a separate ingredient and not something that appears by accident.

Power and airflow shape how any flavour presents. At lower wattages, fruit liquids often taste warmer and softer, and the strawberry tends to dominate. Turn the power up and the vapour cools and thins, which tends to sharpen the lime. Adjust in small steps and give each setting a few puffs before judging it. Airflow works the same way: a tighter draw concentrates flavour, while an open one dilutes it and cools the vapour.

Sweet liquids deserve one practical caution. Sugary or sweetened flavourings can build up on a coil faster than a plain base would, so a fruit bottle like this may call for a coil change a little sooner than you expect. We cover that in the troubleshooting section below, and it is a small price for a flavour many adults find easy to live with across a whole bottle.

Who This Bottle Suits and Who Should Look Elsewhere

Not every bottle suits every vaper, and a 100ml shortfill is more specialised than it looks. It suits adults who already own a refillable tank, pod kit or similar device and are comfortable keeping it topped up. It suits people who vape at 0mg and want a lot of liquid at a low price. It also suits those who like to set their own nicotine level, since the headroom in the bottle lets you build a mix rather than accept a fixed strength.

Fans of bar-style fruit flavours form another natural audience. Strawberry and lime is the sort of combination that has long been popular in sealed devices, and a refillable bottle lets you enjoy it without buying a new device each time the old one runs out. Because the Bar Series range is built around that same fruit-forward character, a Gold Edition bottle slots comfortably into a collection if you already like the brand.

There are people who should look elsewhere, and it is better to say so plainly. If you want a sealed, charged device you can use straight from the box, a bottle of liquid is the wrong product. Our big-puff vape kits are rechargeable, ready-to-use devices, and they are the closer match for that style of vaping.

The same applies if you rely on high-strength nicotine. A shortfill with shots tops out at a few milligrams per millilitre, which suits larger, higher-powered tanks but is far lower than the strengths usually needed in tiny pod devices. Those devices are designed around nic salt liquids instead.

Finally, if you like to change flavour every few days, a 100ml bottle is a heavy commitment. Smaller bottles let you rotate more often. And, as with every product on this site, this is for adults only. If you do not currently use nicotine, there is no reason to start, and the 0mg liquid is the only version that makes sense for you.

The Numbers: Volume, Strength and Cost per Millilitre

Here is what the listing tells us, laid out plainly. Always check the label on the bottle you receive for the batch code, best-before date and exact blend, because production runs can differ.

  • Brand: Bar Series, Gold Edition range
  • Flavour: Strawberry Lime
  • Format: shortfill e-liquid, supplied nicotine-free at 0mg/ml
  • Liquid volume: 100ml
  • Price: £11.99 per bottle
  • Nicotine shots: not included, sold separately in 10ml bottles
  • Minimum purchase age: 18

We have deliberately not listed a VG/PG ratio here. The ratio affects how thick the liquid is and which devices suit it, and the definitive figure is the one printed on the bottle. Read it before you choose a coil.

The cost per millilitre is the headline figure. At £11.99 for 100ml, this bottle works out at roughly 12p per millilitre. Some 10ml nic salt bottles in our range cost £2.95 each, or five for £10 on qualifying lines in the 5 for £10 e-liquids collection, which comes to somewhere between 20p and 30p per millilitre. A shortfill therefore costs noticeably less per millilitre, although you pay the full £11.99 upfront and the two formats suit different devices.

How far does it go? A standard UK tank or pod holds no more than 2ml, so 100ml represents roughly 50 fills. At about 3ml a day, a bottle lasts a little over a month. At 5ml a day it lasts around three weeks. At 8ml a day, closer to a fortnight. These are working estimates, not promises, because puff length, power setting and coil type all change how quickly liquid disappears. In daily cost terms, 3ml a day is about 36p and 5ml a day is about 60p.

Adding Nicotine Shots, Step by Step

Mixing takes about two minutes, and it is much less fiddly than it sounds. If you plan to vape at 0mg, skip this section entirely. Otherwise, work through the following at a clean, well-lit surface, preferably over a tray or a sheet of kitchen roll.

  • Check the headroom. Look at the bottle and its label to see how much space is available and how many shots it is designed to take. Do not force in more than it was built for.
  • Open the bottle and the shot. Remove the cap from the shortfill, then twist the cap or tip from the nicotine shot.
  • Squeeze the shot in. Squeeze the whole contents of the shot into the shortfill, then give the empty shot a final squeeze to clear it.
  • Cap and shake. Refit the cap firmly and shake for around 30 seconds, until the mixture looks even throughout.
  • Rest and label. Leave the bottle to settle, then write the strength and date on it.

Nicotine liquid can irritate skin and eyes, so wipe up spills straight away, wash your hands afterwards, and keep both the shots and the mixed bottle away from children and pets.

Shots are usually supplied as plain nicotine in their own base, which means the VG/PG balance of the finished mix moves slightly after blending. The shift is small, and most people never notice it in the vapour. Some prefer to leave the bottle for a few hours or overnight before using it, as it gives the nicotine time to blend fully, though a thorough shake is often enough.

Try to check the strength printed on the shots you actually buy, rather than assuming. Shots are commonly sold at 18mg/ml, but not always, and the maths in the next section depends entirely on that figure.

Choosing a Nicotine Strength for the Finished Mix

Nicotine strength is the decision that matters most if you choose to add shots, and the arithmetic is simple. Multiply the strength of each shot by its volume, add them up, then divide by the total volume of the finished bottle. The list below gives the common results, assuming 100ml of shortfill and 10ml shots.

  • No shots: 100ml at 0mg/ml
  • One 18mg shot: 110ml at roughly 1.6mg/ml
  • Two 18mg shots: 120ml at roughly 3mg/ml
  • One 20mg shot: 110ml at roughly 1.8mg/ml
  • Two 20mg shots: 120ml at roughly 3.3mg/ml

As a general principle, the more vapour a device produces per puff, the lower the strength people tend to use. Larger tanks with open airflow move a lot of liquid, so they usually pair with 0mg to 3mg. Small mouth-to-lung pod devices move far less, which is why they are normally filled with higher-strength nic salts instead. A shortfill with shots cannot realistically reach those higher strengths, so if you depend on a pod kit you are probably in nicotine salt e-liquids territory.

Nicotine is addictive, and this guidance is not personal advice. It is aimed at adults who already use nicotine and want to understand how the numbers work. If you are not currently using nicotine, there is no reason to begin, and leaving this bottle at 0mg is the right choice.

Start low if you are unsure. It is easy to add a second shot to a later bottle, and impossible to take nicotine back out of one you have already mixed. Remember too that the strength you feel depends on more than the number. Power, airflow, puff length and even the temperature of the vapour all play a part, so give a new mix a few days before deciding whether it suits you.

Tanks, Pods and Coils That Suit a Fruit Shortfill

A shortfill is only as good as the device it goes into. This liquid is designed for refillable systems, which means tanks with replaceable coils and pods that you top up yourself. It is not meant for sealed devices, prefilled pods or closed cartridges that use their own liquid, and pouring it into one is likely to cause leaks, poor flavour or damage.

Our vape kits range includes refillable options at several price points, and the refillable vape pods collection covers replacement pods for compatible systems. Before buying either, check that the kit lists support for the style of liquid you plan to use, particularly if the label on your bottle gives a VG/PG ratio at either extreme.

As a rule of thumb, thinner, higher-PG liquids work well in small pod kits and mesh coils, because they wick quickly. Thicker, higher-VG liquids are better matched to open-airflow tanks with lower-resistance coils. Using the wrong pairing can lead to dry hits or gurgling, so read the ratio on the bottle, then read the guidance printed on the coil.

Coils are the other half of the story. They wear out, and sweet fruit flavours tend to wear them faster. Keep a few spares of the type your tank uses, and browse our vape coils range for compatible replacements. When you fit a new coil, put a few drops of liquid directly onto the cotton, fill the tank, then wait five minutes before the first puff. That pause lets the cotton saturate and prevents the burnt taste that ruins a fresh coil.

Finally, fill carefully. Tilt the tank, aim for the side of the fill port rather than the central chimney, and stop short of the maximum line. A tidy fill avoids flooding, and flooding is the most common cause of leaks.

Storing a 100ml Bottle and Keeping It Fresh

A 100ml bottle will sit around your home for weeks, so storage matters more than it does with a small bottle you finish in days. The principles are simple. Keep the bottle upright, tightly capped, away from direct sunlight and away from heat. A cupboard or drawer at room temperature is ideal. A windowsill, a radiator shelf or a parked car is not, because heat and light can dull flavour and darken the liquid over time.

Sealing is the other half. Each time you open the bottle, air gets in, and air is gradually unkind to delicate flavour notes. Citrus is among the first to fade, which matters for a strawberry and lime blend where the lime provides the contrast. Close the cap firmly every time, and wipe the neck before you do so, since a sticky neck can attract dust and cause leaks.

A useful habit is to decant a small amount into a spare 10ml dropper bottle for everyday use and keep the main bottle closed. It limits how often you expose the bulk of the liquid to air, and a small bottle is easier to carry. Label any spare bottle with the flavour and, if you have mixed shots in, the nicotine strength.

Look at the best-before date on the label when the bottle arrives and make a note of it. As a general working guide, many people try to use an opened shortfill within a few months, and treat a mixed bottle with the same caution. If the liquid has changed colour noticeably or smells different from when you opened it, use your judgement and consider replacing it.

Finally, keep every bottle out of reach of children and pets. A fruit flavour is attractive, and a large, colourful bottle can easily be mistaken for a drink. Store it high, away from food, and never leave it where a child could pick it up.

Honest Pros and Cons of This Bottle

Every product has trade-offs, and this one is no exception. Here is a fair summary, so you can decide with the full picture in front of you.

The strengths first:

  • Low cost per millilitre. Roughly 12p a millilitre is hard to match with smaller bottles.
  • Flexible strength. You choose between 0mg and a mix of a few milligrams by adding shots, or none at all.
  • Less packaging. One large bottle replaces many small ones, and refilling a device generates less waste than replacing sealed products.
  • A recognisable flavour pairing. Strawberry with lime is accessible and easy to describe, so you know roughly what to expect.
  • Same price across the line. At £11.99, it matches the other Gold Edition bottles, so there is no premium for choosing this one.

And the limitations:

  • It needs a refillable device. The bottle does nothing on its own.
  • Nicotine shots are extra. If you want nicotine, you must buy shots separately, and mixing takes a little care.
  • Single-flavour commitment. One hundred millilitres is a lot of one taste, and flavour fatigue is real.
  • Strength ceiling. A mix with shots stays modest in strength, which will not suit devices designed for nic salts.
  • Sweet liquid, faster coil wear. You may replace coils more often than you would with a drier flavour.

Weighing these up, the bottle makes most sense for someone who already uses a refillable tank, knows they like fruit flavours and prefers to buy in volume. For anyone else, a smaller bottle or a different format is probably the more comfortable choice. We would rather you buy the right thing once than the wrong thing twice.

Troubleshooting: Weak Taste, Leaks and Gurgling

Most problems with a fruit shortfill come down to three or four causes, and nearly all of them are easy to fix. Work through them in order before assuming the liquid is at fault.

Flat or muted flavour. The usual culprit is a tired coil. If the taste has faded over a week or two, replace the coil before anything else. Another is what vapers call vaper's tongue, a temporary dulling of taste that clears if you switch to a different flavour for a day. Check the power setting too: running too high can scorch delicate fruit notes, while running too low can leave them under-developed.

Burnt or harsh taste. This points to a dry or exhausted coil. Make sure the tank has not run low, prime any new coil properly, and take shorter puffs to give the cotton time to re-wet between draws. If the burnt taste persists after a new coil, lower the power a little.

Gurgling. A bubbling sound or spitting usually means excess liquid in the airflow path. Wipe the chimney, check you have not overfilled, and tilt the device to clear the condensation. Thinner liquid in a very open airflow can also cause it, so match liquid and coil as described earlier.

Leaking. Check that every part of the tank is seated properly, that the seals are in good condition and that you have not filled above the maximum line. Pressure changes, such as flying or travelling through a tunnel, can push liquid out, so keep a spare tissue and travel with the tank closed and nearly empty where you can.

Sticky residue and dark coils. Sweet liquids leave deposits more quickly. A dark, crusty coil is a sign it has done its job, and a fresh one will restore the taste.

If you have tried all of these and something still seems wrong with the bottle itself, check the batch code and the seal, then contact our team with your order details.

Value, Delivery, Returns and Age Checks

At £11.99, a single bottle sits just below our free delivery line. Standard delivery is free on orders over £20 and arrives in two to three working days, so two bottles at £23.98 qualify, as does one bottle plus anything else that lifts the basket past £20. Below that, standard delivery is £2.99, and next-day delivery is £4.99 when you order before 4pm, Monday to Friday. The shipping page sets out the full details and is worth reading if you need the order by a particular day.

If you are buying more than one thing, our vape deals collection is worth a look before you check out, since offers change from time to time. The price shown on the product page is the price that applies at checkout, and everything we stock is 100% genuine.

Vaping products are strictly for adults, so you must be 18+ to buy. Every order is checked electronically, and where a result is inconclusive we may ask for identification before dispatch. Our age verification page explains how the process works. The check applies to every product we sell, nicotine-free liquids included.

For hygiene and safety reasons we cannot accept returns on opened e-liquids, so please do not open or mix the bottle until you are sure it is the right one. Faulty items can be returned within 30 days for a replacement or refund. When the parcel arrives, check the cap seal, the label and the bottle for damage, and contact our team with your order number if anything looks wrong.

If this is your first shortfill, a cheap way to start is to pair the bottle with a refillable kit and a spare set of coils, vape it at 0mg for a few days, and only then decide whether to add shots on a later order. That order of operations keeps the first purchase simple and lets you judge the flavour on its merits.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Best value per ml in the category
  • Choose your own device and coil
  • Available in a wide strength ladder

Cons

  • Refilling can leak if you overfill
  • Coil priming has a small learning curve

Frequently asked questions

Does Bar Series Gold Edition Strawberry Lime contain nicotine?

No. It is a shortfill, which means it is supplied at 0mg of nicotine per millilitre. The bottle is larger than the liquid inside so you have the option of adding nicotine shots yourself. If you do, the finished mix will contain nicotine and should be labelled and stored away from children and pets. If you do not use nicotine, you can fill your tank straight from the bottle and the liquid stays nicotine-free. Always read the label on the bottle you receive.

How many nicotine shots can I add to the 100ml bottle?

That depends on the headroom in the bottle, which is why the label matters. Many 100ml shortfills are supplied in a 120ml container, leaving space for up to two 10ml shots. Check the instructions printed on the bottle itself and never force more liquid in than the container was designed to hold. If you add fewer shots than the space allows, the finished mix will simply be a lower strength.

What strength will I get after adding shots?

It depends on the strength of the shots you use. With 100ml of shortfill and one 18mg shot, you get roughly 1.6mg/ml in 110ml. With two 18mg shots, roughly 3mg/ml in 120ml. With 20mg shots the figures are about 1.8mg/ml and 3.3mg/ml. These are calculated results, so read the strength printed on your shots rather than assuming it.

Is a nicotine shot included in the box?

No. The bottle contains only the 100ml of flavoured, nicotine-free liquid. Nicotine shots are sold separately, normally in 10ml bottles, and you only need them if you want to add nicotine. Plenty of people use this kind of bottle exactly as supplied at 0mg, in which case there is nothing extra to buy beyond a refillable device.

Can I use it in a disposable vape or a prefilled pod?

No. Sealed disposables and prefilled pod systems contain their own liquid and are not designed to be refilled. This bottle is meant for refillable tanks and pods. Putting it in a sealed device could cause leaks or damage. If you prefer a ready-to-use device, look at our rechargeable big-puff kits instead, and keep this bottle for a refillable setup.

How long will a 100ml bottle last?

It varies with how much you vape. A standard UK tank or pod holds up to 2ml, so 100ml is roughly 50 fills. At about 3ml a day it lasts a little over a month, at 5ml a day around three weeks, and at 8ml a day about a fortnight. Power setting, coil type and puff length all change the rate, so treat these as rough working figures.

What does Strawberry Lime taste like?

Expect a sweet, rounded strawberry note paired with a sharper citrus edge from the lime, something like a strawberry sherbet or soft drink. The name carries no ice or menthol wording, so there should be no deliberate cooling effect. Tasting notes are personal, and brands rarely publish detailed descriptions, so treat this as a general guide to how the pairing usually behaves in fruit liquids.

Do I need to let it rest after mixing in shots?

A thorough shake for around 30 seconds usually blends the liquid well. Some people also leave the bottle for a few hours or overnight so the nicotine has time to mix evenly, and then give it a second shake before filling the tank. There is no strict rule, so use whichever approach suits you. Label the bottle with the strength and the date once it is mixed.

How should I store the bottle once it is open?

Keep it upright, tightly capped, in a cool and dark place such as a cupboard or drawer. Avoid sunlight, radiators and parked cars, as heat and light can dull the flavour. Wipe the neck before closing the cap, and keep the bottle out of reach of children and pets. Check the best-before date on the label and, as a general guide, try to finish an opened bottle within a few months.

How much is delivery, and do I need to be 18 to buy?

Standard delivery is free on orders over £20 and takes two to three working days. Below £20 it is £2.99, and next-day delivery is £4.99 if you order before 4pm, Monday to Friday. You must be 18 or over to buy, and orders are checked electronically, with ID requested before dispatch if a result is inconclusive. Opened e-liquid cannot be returned, but faulty items can be sent back within 30 days.
