Elf Bar Elfa Pro Rechargeable Pod Device Bundle Kit: what you are actually buying

The Elf Bar Elfa Pro Rechargeable Pod Device Bundle Kit is a compact, rechargeable pod system from Elf Bar, the brand that built its UK reputation on sealed, single-use bars. Since the sale of single-use vapes was prohibited across the UK on 1 June 2025, a lot of that brand's attention, and a lot of its customers, have moved to formats like this one: a battery you keep and recharge, paired with pods you replace when they run out. The Elfa Pro sits squarely in that category. The bundle format means you are buying the device together with pods, so you can start vaping when the parcel arrives instead of ordering parts separately and waiting for the second delivery.

This page is written to help you decide, not to oversell. Elf Bar products vary between generations and between flavours, and not every number printed on packaging survives contact with everyday use. Where we quote a battery size, a puff estimate or a charge time, we describe the typical range for small pod kits in this class and we say so. The product listing and the pack in your hands are the authority on exact specifications, and we would rather be useful than precise-sounding.

In plain terms, here is what the bundle is:

  • A rechargeable battery device with a slim, pocketable body, designed to run Elf Bar Elfa-series pods.
  • One or more pods supplied with the device, in the flavour or flavours shown on the variant you select.
  • Draw-activated operation, meaning you inhale on the mouthpiece rather than pressing a firing button. That is the usual arrangement on kits aimed at people moving away from smoking.
  • A charging port, normally USB-C on current kits, so you can top up from a phone charger or a laptop.
  • A pod capacity of no more than 2ml and, for nicotine products, a strength of no more than 20mg per millilitre, because those are the UK legal limits for every vape sold here.

The kit suits adults who want a low-maintenance way to vape: no coil to prime, no tank to clean, no wattage menu to learn. It is a poorer fit if you want large clouds, adjustable power or a refillable tank you can tune to taste. The sections below cover each of those points in turn so you can judge the fit before you buy. As with every product on this site, it is for adult smokers and existing vapers aged 18 or over only.

Performance and puff delivery in real use

The Elfa Pro is built around a mouth-to-lung draw. You pull the vapour into your mouth first, pause, and then inhale it, much as many people draw on a cigarette. The airflow on kits like this is fairly tight, so each pull is slow and controlled, the vapour is modest in volume, and the throat sensation sits in the gentle-to-medium range when you use a nicotine salt strength. If you are coming from a sub-ohm tank that produces big clouds, this will feel restrained. If you are coming from smoking or from sealed bars, it will feel familiar.

Draw activation is a practical advantage in daily use. There is nothing to press, so you cannot fire the device in a pocket by accident, and you do not have to think about how long to hold a button. The device senses the airflow, heats the coil and delivers vapour for as long as you keep drawing, up to a built-in safety cut-off that stops a single very long pull from overheating the coil.

How many puffs should you expect? UK law caps a pod or tank at 2ml, which means no legally sold pod for this kind of device can hold the quantity of liquid needed to deliver the thousands of puffs that certain imported products claim on their packaging. As a planning figure only, a 2ml pod in a device of this class commonly yields somewhere in the region of 400 to 700 puffs, depending on how long and how hard you draw. That is an estimate drawn from how this category generally behaves, not a laboratory figure for this exact unit, and your own habits will move it either way.

Translated into days, a rough guide looks like this:

  • Light or occasional use: a pod can last most of a week.
  • Moderate daily use, for example replacing a few cigarettes a day: roughly two to four days per pod.
  • Heavy daily use, for example replacing a pack a day: about a day, sometimes a little less, so you will want spare pods in your bag.

Consistency is where a pod system earns its keep. Because the pod and coil are matched and sealed, the first draw from a fresh pod and the draw from a pod near the end are broadly similar, with one caveat. As the liquid runs low, flavour tends to fade slightly, and a pod that is truly empty gives a hot, dry, acrid pull. When you notice flavour thinning out and the draws getting warmer, change the pod and do not push on. The coil in a pod is designed to be used with liquid around it, and running it dry shortens its life and spoils the taste of anything you put through it afterwards.

Overall, the performance profile is steady, unfussy and moderate. It is built to be convenient, not to impress anyone with vapour volume.

Flavour profile and the pods you can pair it with

Flavour is the main reason people choose Elf Bar over other pod brands, and the company has a long list of profiles to its name. The exact lineup in your bundle depends on the variant you select on the listing, and stock rotates, so treat the names below as a guide to the range and not a promise about what is in a particular box. The profiles Elf Bar customers most often ask about fall into a handful of families.

  • Blueberry Sour Raspberry: a sweet blueberry base with a sharp, tangy raspberry edge. One of the most recognisable Elf Bar profiles, and a good fit if you like berry flavours with some bite.
  • Strawberry Ice: ripe, slightly candied strawberry with a cooling finish on the exhale. The cooling is noticeable but not harsh.
  • Blue Razz Lemonade: blue raspberry with a lemonade tartness. Sweet up front, brighter on the finish, and popular for people who find plain berry flavours too heavy.
  • Watermelon Ice: juicy melon with menthol cooling. Light and easy to vape through the day without tiring your palate.
  • Cherry Cola: a fizzy cola base with a dark cherry note. A good choice if you want something dessert-like but not creamy.
  • Pink Lemonade: sweet and tart citrus with a berry undertone. Crisp, refreshing and less cloying than many sweet profiles.
  • Mint: a straightforward cool mint with little sweetness. Suits ex-smokers who want something clean and simple.
  • Tobacco-style options: where offered, these aim at the dry, slightly roasted character of tobacco and appeal to people who want to leave fruit and sweetness behind.

A few practical points on flavour are worth knowing. First, nicotine salt liquids carry flavour well, but intense sweet and ice profiles can fatigue your taste buds after a few days. This is common and has a name, vaper's tongue. It is not a fault in the device. If a favourite flavour suddenly tastes muted, switching to something different for a day or two usually brings it back, and drinking water between sessions helps too.

Second, flavours with a cooling agent can feel strong at higher nicotine strengths, because cooling and throat hit add together. If you are sensitive to that sensation, pick a non-ice fruit or a milder option for your first pod and move on from there.

Third, if your bundle includes more than one pod, you can run through them in any order. Swapping between flavours is easy: remove the pod, insert the other, and carry on. Keep the removed pod upright and stored somewhere cool so it does not leak. Because each pod has its own sealed coil, flavours do not carry over from one pod to the next, which is one of the genuine advantages of this format compared with a single refillable tank.

Design and build quality

The Elfa range is designed around a slim, flattened body that sits comfortably in a trouser pocket, a jacket pocket or a small bag compartment. The Elfa Pro follows that approach. It is light enough that you stop noticing it after the first day, and the rounded edges mean it does not snag on fabric when you pull it out. The mouthpiece is part of the pod, shaped for comfortable lip contact, and the pod seats into the top of the device. The overall look is understated, and the finish is typically a coated or matte surface that hides fingerprints better than a glossy one would.

Build quality in this price band is a matter of honest expectations. The casing is designed for a pocket, not a toolbox. It will cope with the usual knocks of daily carry, but it is not waterproof, it is not drop-proof, and you should not treat it as such. A few habits protect it:

  • Keep it out of a pocket full of loose change and keys, which scuff the finish and can scratch the charging port.
  • Do not leave it in a hot car. Heat softens the seal around the pod, thins the liquid and stresses the battery, and it is one of the most common causes of leaking.
  • Do not carry it in a bag with loose tobacco, lint or crumbs. Debris in the pod connection is a leading cause of intermittent fault warnings.
  • Wipe the pod connection contacts with a dry cotton bud now and then if you swap pods often.

The detail to check when your kit arrives is the pod connection. A pod should seat firmly with no wobble, and the connection should feel secure when you tilt the device. If it rattles, shifts or refuses to seat fully, contact us rather than forcing it. A pod that is not making clean contact will cut out mid-draw, trigger the indicator light or fail to heat at all.

There is also an indicator light, which is the device's way of telling you what is going on. A steady glow when you draw is normal. Flashing patterns usually relate to battery level, charging state or a fault such as a short circuit or a pod that is not detected. Your pack or the manufacturer's leaflet will list the specific patterns for your unit, and it is worth reading that leaflet once, because the patterns differ between models and generations.

None of this is exotic engineering. The aim of the design is portability and simplicity, and on those terms the Elfa Pro does what it sets out to do. If you want a device with a metal chassis, a screen and adjustable airflow, you are shopping in a different and more expensive category, and we cover how the two compare later in this guide.

Battery life and charging

Small pod kits in this class commonly carry rechargeable lithium-ion batteries somewhere in the range of 400 to 800mAh. That is a category description and not a datasheet figure for this unit, so check the pack for the exact capacity. As a working guide, a battery in that range is enough to see a moderate user through a full day, and it usually outlasts the first pod, which is a sensible match because the two components are designed to run down on a similar timetable. Heavy users should expect to top up during the day or overnight.

Charging is done through a port on the device, which on current kits is USB-C. USB-C is reversible, so there is no fumbling for the right way round, and the same cable as your phone or headphones is likely to work. Charge times for a battery of this size are generally measured in tens of minutes to an hour or so, not several hours, but we do not quote a fixed figure because the real time depends on the charger, the cable and how flat the cell is when you start.

Good charging habits are mostly common sense, and they protect the cell and extend its useful life:

  • Use a standard 5V phone-style adapter or a computer USB port. Avoid unbranded, very high-output chargers, which are cheap but can stress small cells.
  • Do not vape while the device is plugged in. Charging and drawing at the same time heats the cell and the coil together and is not what the device is designed for.
  • Do not leave it charging unattended for long stretches, and never on a bed, sofa or anywhere that traps heat.
  • Charge it at room temperature. A very cold or very hot battery charges poorly and ages faster.
  • If the casing becomes hot, swells, smells odd or the cable plug looks scorched, unplug it and stop using the device.

Battery wear is gradual. A lithium-ion cell of this type typically holds up through several hundred charge cycles before capacity noticeably drops, which for most people means many months of use. The sign that a battery is ageing is a shorter gap between charges, not a sudden failure. When the device no longer lasts long enough to be practical, replace the kit and recycle the old one rather than putting it in the bin.

One more point on practicality: because the battery belongs to the device and the coil belongs to the pod, you do not discard a battery every time a pod empties. That is the main environmental and cost argument for rechargeable kits, and it is the reason the UK moved against single-use products. Over a few months, one battery will see you through many pods, and each pod you finish is a smaller piece of waste than a whole sealed bar was.

Pods, coil and mesh technology

The pod is the consumable half of the system, and it contains the e-liquid reservoir, the wick and the coil in a single sealed unit. Elf Bar's newer pods are generally described as using mesh coils. A mesh coil is a thin flat sheet of metal with many small holes, instead of a round wire wound into a spiral. Because the sheet touches the wick across a larger area, it heats more evenly and tends to produce a smoother, more consistent flavour from the first draw. It also warms up quickly, which is why a draw-activated kit can respond to a short pull. Typical coil resistances in this class sit around the 0.8 to 1.2 ohm mark, though we do not quote an exact figure for this unit.

The practical consequences of that design are worth spelling out:

  • No priming. A new pod is filled and ready. You do not need to drip liquid onto the coil or wait for it to saturate beyond a short rest period.
  • Coil life matches liquid life. The coil is replaced every time you change the pod, so you do not get the creeping burnt taste that comes from a refillable coil used for too long.
  • Less to go wrong. There is no tank to fill, no fill port to leak and no resistance to choose.
  • Less flexibility. You cannot choose your own liquid or adjust airflow in a sealed pod, which is the trade-off for the simplicity.

Capacity is capped at 2ml, because UK regulations limit pods and tanks on nicotine vapes to that size. Some kits in the wider Elfa family are described as refillable, and where a version of this bundle is listed that way, the same 2ml limit applies and the same cautions about liquid choice apply: use a nicotine salt liquid designed for pod systems, in a strength you chose on purpose, and avoid thick, high-VG liquids made for sub-ohm tanks, which can choke a small wick and cause weak, dry or burnt draws. Check the listing to confirm whether the pods in your bundle are pre-filled or refillable before you buy.

Compatibility needs care. Pods are designed around specific devices, and a pod made for a different brand or a different Elf Bar generation may not fit or may not make a proper electrical connection. Buy replacement pods that are listed as suitable for the Elfa Pro, and if you are not sure, ask us before ordering. Mixing mismatched pods is a common cause of fault lights and leaks, and it is not a saving worth making.

Finally, a note on care. Keep pods upright in storage. Do not squeeze them, do not try to open them, and do not leave a half-used pod in a hot place. A pod that has been tipped upside down in a bag may weep a little liquid into the airflow channel. If that happens, wipe the connection dry and take a couple of gentle draws before returning to normal use.

Choosing a nicotine strength

UK law sets the maximum strength for nicotine vapes at 20mg per millilitre, which is 2 per cent. That cap applies to every pod, refill and e-liquid sold in the UK, whether it is in a kit, a sealed pod or a bottle, and 20mg/ml is the strength most Elf Bar pods are made at. Some listings and some products also offer lower strengths. Which one you want depends on how much you smoke now, how your body responds to nicotine and what you are trying to achieve, and this section is general information, not medical advice.

Elf Bar pods use nicotine salts, which deliver nicotine more smoothly than traditional freebase liquid. That is why a 20mg salt pod feels much gentler on the throat than a 20mg freebase liquid would, and also why it can satisfy cravings quickly. As a rough starting guide:

  • 20mg/ml (2%): suits people who smoke a pack a day or close to it, or who smoke their first cigarette within half an hour of waking. It is also the strength most likely to hold a former heavy smoker off cigarettes in the first weeks.
  • 10mg to 12mg/ml: suits people who smoke around ten cigarettes a day, or existing vapers stepping down. If your listing offers a mid-strength, it is a sensible middle option.
  • 5mg/ml or lower: suits light or social smokers, occasional vapers and people reducing nicotine on purpose.

Pick the wrong strength and your body will tell you. Too high a strength can cause dizziness, nausea, headache, a racing heartbeat, sweating or a hot, sharp feeling in the throat. If you notice those, stop, drink some water, get some fresh air and choose a lower strength next time. Too low a strength produces the opposite pattern: nagging cravings, constant vaping, short gaps between draws and a pod that disappears much faster than expected. If you find yourself chain-vaping a low-strength pod, a higher strength may actually use less liquid overall.

Remember that vaping a nicotine salt at 20mg can deliver nicotine very efficiently. Do not assume that because the vapour feels smooth, you are taking in less. If you are new to nicotine altogether, do not start. Nicotine is addictive, and these products are for adult smokers and existing vapers only. Vaping is widely considered substantially less harmful than smoking, but it is not risk-free, and it is not recommended for people who have never smoked, for anyone under 18, or for anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding without medical advice.

If your aim is to quit nicotine completely, a gradual step-down works better for most people than stopping abruptly: move down one strength every few weeks, hold each level until cravings settle, and consider talking to your local NHS stop smoking service, which is free and has a better track record than going it alone.

Who this kit is for, and who should skip it

No product suits everybody, and a pod kit is a specific tool. It does a particular job well and leaves other jobs to other products. Here is an honest breakdown.

It is likely to suit you if:

  • You are an adult smoker who wants to switch and would like the simplest possible route. A sealed pod that clicks in and works is easier to live with than a tank, a coil and a bottle.
  • You used single-use bars before the ban and want something that feels similar in use but produces less waste, since you keep the battery and replace only the pod.
  • You like flavour variety and want to change flavours without cleaning a tank.
  • You want a small device that vanishes into a pocket and does not draw attention.
  • You value predictability. The pod and coil are matched, so what you taste on day one is roughly what you taste on day three.
  • You are a lighter user who does not want to manage liquid bottles, cotton or coil changes.

It is probably not the right choice if:

  • You want big clouds. A tight mouth-to-lung pod kit will always produce modest vapour compared with a sub-ohm tank.
  • You want to control wattage, airflow or resistance. There is nothing to adjust on a sealed system.
  • You vape very heavily and want the lowest running cost. Pre-filled pods cost more per millilitre than bottled liquid, and a heavy user will notice the difference over a month.
  • You like mixing your own liquid or buying specific boutique flavours. A sealed pod limits you to what the manufacturer fills it with.
  • You are looking for a device with a screen, puff counter or power display.

It is not for:

  • Anyone under 18. We verify age and we will not sell to minors, and it is an offence for an adult to buy a vape for someone under 18.
  • Non-smokers. Nicotine is addictive, and there is no health benefit in starting.
  • Anyone who is pregnant, who has a heart condition or who takes medication that interacts with nicotine, without first talking to a doctor or pharmacist.

If you are unsure which side of the line you are on, the question to ask is what you want from the product. If the answer is a convenient, tidy, flavour-led replacement for cigarettes or bars, this kit is aimed squarely at you. If the answer is performance, customisation or the lowest possible cost per millilitre, look at refillable tank kits instead, which we discuss in the comparison section below.

Getting started: setup and daily use

Setting up a pod kit is quick, but a few minutes of care at the start prevents most of the problems that people later blame on the device. Here is a sensible order of operations.

  • Check what is in the box. You should have the device, the pod or pods, a charging cable if one is included and a leaflet. Do not use anything that arrives damaged, cracked or with a loose, wobbling connection.
  • Charge the device first. Even if the battery shows some charge, a full top-up before the first use is a good habit, and it confirms the charging port and cable work.
  • Prepare the pod. Remove any protective film, sticker or plug from the mouthpiece and the base, as shown in the leaflet. Do not pierce or tamper with anything else.
  • Seat the pod. Push it into the device until it sits firmly. If it will not go in, do not force it, because you may be fitting it the wrong way round or using an incompatible pod.
  • Let it rest. Leave the assembled kit upright for five minutes or so. The wick needs a short time to draw liquid into the mesh, and skipping this step is the quickest way to get a burnt first draw.
  • Take gentle first draws. Use two or three slow, short puffs to bring the coil up to speed, then settle into your normal rhythm.

In everyday use, the rule is simple. Draw slowly, for two to four seconds, and pause between puffs. Long, hard, back-to-back drags heat the coil faster than the wick can resupply it, which can scorch the cotton and spoil flavour, and it burns through the pod faster than it needs to. If you want more throat hit, raise the strength a little, not the intensity of your draw.

Changing a pod is as easy as lifting the old one out, seating the new one and giving it the same short rest. Keep the device and the spare pods upright when you carry them, away from heat and away from anything that could press on the pod and squeeze liquid out.

Two sensible practical notes. If you travel by air, UK airlines generally require vapes to be carried in cabin baggage and not in the hold, and you must not use or charge them on board. Pressure changes on a plane can also push liquid out of a pod, so carry the kit upright and wipe the mouthpiece before use on landing. And if you share a household with children or pets, store the kit and spare pods where they cannot reach them. Nicotine liquid is poisonous if swallowed, and a pod is small enough to be a hazard in its own right.

Troubleshooting the common problems

Most pod kit complaints come down to a short list of causes, and most are fixable in under a minute. Work through the likely culprits before assuming the device is faulty.

  • No vapour, no response when you draw. Check the battery first and charge it if it is low. Then remove the pod and reseat it firmly. If the pod is new, check that you removed every protective seal. If the connection looks dirty, wipe the contacts with a dry cotton bud.
  • Indicator light flashing. The pattern normally relates to low battery, charging state or a connection fault. Reseat the pod, charge the device and consult the leaflet for the specific code on your unit. A persistent fault light with a fresh pod and a charged battery can mean a defective unit, in which case contact us.
  • Burnt or acrid taste. The most common cause is a pod that is empty or nearly so. If the pod is not empty, the cause is usually drawing too hard, too often, or skipping the rest period on a fresh pod. Replace the pod if the taste does not clear after a short break.
  • Weak or muted flavour. Check that the pod has liquid left. If it does, you may be experiencing vaper's tongue. Switch flavours for a day, drink water and try again.
  • Leaking. Small amounts of condensation around the mouthpiece are normal. Actual leakage usually follows heat, being carried upside down or a pod that was not seated properly. Wipe it clean, store pods upright and avoid hot places. A pod that leaks constantly should be replaced.
  • Gurgling or spitting. Condensation or excess liquid in the airflow channel. Blow gently through the mouthpiece, with the device not attached to your mouth, or wipe the mouthpiece, then try again.
  • The device will not charge. Try a different cable and a different adapter, because cables fail more often than devices. Check that the port is free of lint, and look for signs of damage. If it still will not charge, contact us.
  • The pod seems empty but you have barely used it. This often happens with high-strength pods taken in rapid chain draws, or in cold weather when liquid is thicker and the coil starves. Warm the pod in your hand briefly and draw slowly.

There are also warning signs where you should stop using the device straight away: a casing that is hot to the touch, any swelling, any hissing, smoke or a smell of burning plastic, or visible damage to the charging port. Unplug it, put it somewhere non-flammable such as a ceramic plate or outdoors on a hard surface, and do not use it again. Do not attempt to open or repair a lithium-ion device yourself.

If none of that resolves your issue, get in touch with your order number and a short description, and a photo if it is a physical problem. A faulty unit is something we want to put right, and the more precisely you describe the fault, the quicker we can sort it.

Value for money, and how it compares

Value in this category has two parts, the upfront price of the kit and the running cost of the pods, and the second part is the one people underestimate. A bundle gives you the reusable device plus a starter supply, so the day-one price is usually lower than buying the device and pods separately. After that, the cost is a function of how fast you get through pods. To work out your own number, take the price of a replacement pod, divide by the number of days it lasts you, and multiply by thirty. For most moderate users that comes out well below what a pack-a-day cigarette habit costs, since many mainstream cigarette brands now cost well over £15 for a pack of twenty. Heavy users will spend more than moderate ones, and the figure is worth calculating before you commit, not after.

Here is how the kit sits against the main alternatives, stated fairly.

  • Against the old single-use bars: those are no longer legal to sell in the UK. In use, a rechargeable pod kit offers similar convenience but less waste, and the battery is reused instead of discarded with each product.
  • Against other sealed-pod systems such as Vuse ePod: the format is similar, with a closed pod and a rechargeable battery. Vuse offers a more tobacco-led flavour spread and is widely stocked on the high street. Elf Bar generally offers a wider run of fruit and ice flavours. Which you prefer is largely a question of taste and of which pods are easy to find near you.
  • Against refillable pod kits such as the SMOK Novo series, Uwell Caliburn or OXVA Xlim: these let you choose your own liquid, which usually brings the running cost down and the flavour range up, and several have adjustable airflow. They also ask more of you: you fill them, you keep an eye on coil condition, and you can make a mess. If you want zero fuss, the sealed Elfa pod is easier. If you want to save money over time and do not mind a bottle in your bag, a refillable kit tends to work out cheaper.
  • Against nicotine replacement therapy: patches, gum and lozenges do not replicate the hand-to-mouth habit, which many smokers find is half the battle. A vape does, but NRT has the strongest evidence base as a regulated medicine, and it is worth asking your pharmacist or stop smoking service which route suits you.
  • Against more expensive device-style kits: metal-bodied kits with screens, bigger batteries and better airflow cost more and do more. If you simply want to vape without thinking about it, you may be paying for features you will not use.

On balance, the Elfa Pro bundle is a reasonable-value way to start for someone who wants simplicity and flavour choice. It is not the cheapest long-term route, and it is not the most powerful, and we would rather say so than let you find out later. What it does offer is a low barrier to entry, a neat form factor and the ability to try more than one flavour without a large outlay.

UK rules, delivery, returns and recycling

Vaping products in the UK are regulated under the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016, and the rules that matter most to you as a buyer are straightforward. Nicotine strength is capped at 20mg per millilitre. Pods and tanks are capped at 2ml. Refill bottles are capped at 10ml. Packaging must carry a health warning and an ingredient list, and products must be notified to the regulator before sale. Sales of single-use vapes were prohibited from 1 June 2025, which is why this kit, with its rechargeable battery and replaceable pods, is the format on sale now. The legal age to buy any vape in the UK is 18.

Delivery. We deliver across the UK, and because these products are age-restricted, expect age verification at checkout and, in some cases, on delivery. Current carriers, costs and dispatch cut-off times are listed on our delivery page, and we suggest checking it before you order if timing matters to you. If an order goes astray or arrives damaged, tell us promptly with your order number.

Returns and faults. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply: goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If a device arrives faulty, contact us with your order number and a description of the problem, and a photo if it is a physical defect, and we will arrange a replacement, repair or refund as appropriate. As with other health-related products, sealed items that have been opened and used cannot normally be returned for hygiene reasons, so check the compatibility and flavour before you open the pod. Our returns page sets out the detail, including time limits and how to start a return.

Warranty. Rechargeable devices of this type are covered against manufacturing defects, but not against damage from drops, liquid, heat or misuse. Keep your order confirmation as proof of purchase.

Recycling and disposal. A rechargeable vape contains a lithium-ion battery and electronics, so it must not go in your household bin or your kerbside recycling, where batteries can start fires in collection vehicles and sorting plants. Instead:

  • Take used devices and empty pods to a vape recycling bin or a small-electricals drop-off point. Many retailers that sell vapes must offer take-back, and your local household waste recycling centre will have a battery or small-electricals container.
  • Do not try to remove the battery yourself.
  • Empty pods can go in the same container as the device, as they contain residual liquid and coil materials.
  • If a device is swollen, damaged or hot, do not take it to a bin yourself. Isolate it somewhere safe and contact your local council for advice.

Recycling the battery and metals recovers materials and keeps hazardous items out of landfill, and it is the least we can do given the volume of single-use vapes that were discarded before the ban. A reusable kit only delivers its environmental benefit if the components are properly handled at the end of their life.

Customer Buying Tips

  • Check your pod format: prefilled vs refillable use different pods — not interchangeable.

  • Charge fully before first use — a factory part-charge is just enough to test the device.
  • Keep the kit in the box with the leaflet for warranty claims.

About Elf Bar

Elf Bar is the household name of UK vaping — Elfa, Elfa Pro, ELFX and the 600 range have introduced millions of adult smokers to vaping. The brand still sets the pace on flavour trends and device simplicity, and its prefilled pods remain the format most new vapers start with.

Frequently asked questions

Which nicotine strength should I choose for the Elfa Pro?

Match it to your smoking: 20mg/ml (the UK legal maximum) suits heavy smokers, around 10mg to 12mg suits people on about ten cigarettes a day, and 5mg or lower suits light or social smokers. Check which strengths your listing offers. If you feel dizzy, nauseous or get a harsh throat, go lower next time, and if cravings keep returning, go a step higher.

How do I charge it, and how long does it take?

Plug it into a standard 5V phone-style adapter or a computer USB port using the charging cable, normally via USB-C. Batteries in this class generally charge in somewhere between half an hour and an hour or so, but the exact time depends on the charger, so check the pack. Do not vape while it is plugged in, and unplug it if the casing gets hot.

Can I swap flavours or use different pods in the same device?

Yes, you can change flavours simply by removing one pod and seating another, because each pod has its own sealed coil and liquid. Only use pods that are listed as suitable for the Elfa Pro, as pods made for other devices may not fit or may not connect properly. Store spare pods upright and away from heat.

How long does a pod last, and how long will the kit last?

A 2ml pod typically gives somewhere in the region of 400 to 700 puffs, which is roughly two to four days for a moderate user and about a day for a heavy one. This is an estimate for the category, not a figure for this exact unit. The battery should last many months of regular use, and usually works through many pods before capacity noticeably fades.

Is it good value for money?

The bundle usually costs less at the outset than buying the device and pods separately, and for most moderate users the running cost is well below a pack-a-day smoking habit. It is not the cheapest long-term route, since refillable kits using bottled liquid generally cost less per millilitre. Work out your own pod cost per month before deciding.

Who should buy this kit, and who should not?

It suits adult smokers and existing vapers who want a simple, flavour-led, low-maintenance device in a pocketable size. It is not suitable for anyone under 18, for non-smokers, or for people who are pregnant or have heart conditions without medical advice. If you want big clouds, adjustable power or the lowest running cost, a refillable tank kit is a better fit.

Is this a disposable vape, and is it legal in the UK?

No, it is a rechargeable pod system: you keep and recharge the battery and replace the pods. Single-use vapes have been prohibited in the UK since 1 June 2025, but reusable kits like this remain legal to sell to adults aged 18 and over. UK law also caps pods at 2ml and nicotine at 20mg per millilitre.

Do you deliver across the UK, and is age verification required?

Yes, we deliver across the UK. Because vapes are age-restricted, expect an age check at checkout and possibly on delivery, so make sure someone aged 18 or over can receive the parcel. Current carriers, prices and cut-off times are on our delivery page.

What if my device arrives faulty, and is there a warranty?

Contact us with your order number, a description of the fault and a photo if the problem is physical, and we will arrange a replacement, repair or refund in line with your Consumer Rights Act 2015 protections. The device is covered against manufacturing defects, but not against drops, liquid damage or misuse. Opened, used pods cannot normally be returned for hygiene reasons.

How do I dispose of it when it is finished?

Do not put it in household waste or kerbside recycling, as the lithium-ion battery is a fire risk. Take the device and empty pods to a vape recycling bin, a retailer take-back point or the small-electricals container at your local household waste recycling centre.
