Elux Nic Salts 20mg Blueberry Raspberry: Overview

Elux Nic Salts 20mg Blueberry Raspberry is a 10ml bottle of nicotine salt e-liquid made for refillable pod kits and other low-power, mouth-to-lung devices. It pairs two berry flavours, blueberry and raspberry, at 20mg/ml (2%) nicotine, which is the highest strength UK law allows for retail e-liquid. If you have been using disposable vapes and want something you can refill, this is the kind of product you move to.

The timing matters. Single-use vapes can no longer be sold in Great Britain as of 1 June 2025, and that has pushed a lot of former disposable users towards pod kits and bottled nic salts. A bottle gives you control over the hardware, the flavour and the nicotine strength, and in most cases it costs noticeably less per millilitre than buying a succession of throwaway devices. It also produces far less electronic waste, because the only parts you throw away are an empty plastic bottle and, eventually, a worn coil or pod.

Elux is a name most UK vapers know from its disposable devices, but the brand also sells e-liquid in the standard 10ml nic salt format. This guide covers what you actually get in the bottle, how the flavour behaves, which devices suit it, how to choose between nicotine strengths, and how it compares with similar ranges. We have written it as a practical buyer's guide rather than a sales pitch, so it includes a section on who should skip this product as well as who it suits.

At a glance:

  • Product: Elux Nic Salts, Blueberry Raspberry flavour
  • Type: nicotine salt e-liquid, 10ml bottle
  • Nicotine strength: 20mg/ml (2%), roughly 200mg of nicotine in the full bottle
  • Suited to: refillable pod systems and low-wattage mouth-to-lung kits
  • Not suitable for: high-wattage sub-ohm tanks, under-18s and non-smokers
  • Legal age to buy: 18 or over, with age checks on delivery

Specifications and What Is in the Bottle

The numbers are simple, which is part of the appeal. You are buying 10ml of liquid at 20mg/ml. Ten millilitres is the largest bottle size UK rules allow for nicotine-containing e-liquid, so every brand in this category sells the same volume. Multiply it out and the bottle holds about 200mg of nicotine in total, which is useful to know if you are tracking how much you use each day.

The word salt in the name refers to the form of nicotine. Freebase nicotine, used in traditional e-liquids, is quite alkaline and feels harsh at higher strengths. Nicotine salts are made by combining nicotine with an acid, usually benzoic acid, which lowers the pH. The result is a smoother throat hit at a given strength, and nicotine that is absorbed quickly, which is why nic salts became the standard for small pod devices. It is also why 20mg/ml of nic salt feels different from 20mg/ml of freebase: far less scratchy, but still a definite hit.

Nic salt liquids in this category are normally formulated as a fairly balanced PG/VG blend, and that balance is deliberate. Propylene glycol (PG) carries flavour and gives throat hit. Vegetable glycerine (VG) produces vapour density and softness. A blend that leans towards PG or sits near even wicks easily through the small cotton or mesh coils found in pod kits. A very thick high-VG liquid would starve those coils and burn. The exact ratio, ingredient list and batch code are printed on the bottle label, and that label is always the definitive source.

Required information on every UK bottle includes:

  • A nicotine health warning in the prescribed wording
  • The full ingredient list and nicotine strength
  • A batch number and best-before date
  • A child-resistant and tamper-evident closure
  • Producer details, as products must be notified to the MHRA before sale

Nothing about the bottle is unusual, and that is fine. The point of a standard format is that it fits standard devices. Any pod kit with a side or bottom fill port designed for 10ml bottles will accept the nozzle, and the liquid works in anything built for nic salts.

Flavour Profile: Blueberry and Raspberry Together

Berry blends are among the most popular profiles in UK vaping, and blueberry plus raspberry is a natural pairing because the two fruits cover different parts of the flavour spectrum. Blueberry is the rounder, sweeter, slightly jammy note. Raspberry is brighter and more tart, with a sharp edge that stops the blend feeling flat. Together they tend to read as a mixed-berry sweet rather than a single fresh fruit.

What to expect from a blend like this, bearing in mind that palate and device both change how a flavour reads:

  • On the inhale: a sweet berry front with the raspberry tartness arriving slightly after, especially on a longer draw.
  • On the exhale: a softer, lingering blueberry sweetness with a mild sour finish.
  • Cooling: the name does not mention ice or menthol, so do not expect a noticeable chill. If a cold finish matters to you, look at the ice variants in the wider range.
  • Sweetness: moderate to fairly high. Fruit e-liquids use sweeteners to round off tartness, and this style is no exception.

Flavour intensity also depends on power. At the low wattages nic salts are designed for, around 8 to 15W, berry flavours stay clear and distinct. Push the power up and the sweetness tends to dominate while the raspberry sharpness fades, so if the liquid tastes one-dimensional, turn the device down rather than up.

If you like this flavour family, the wider Elux nic salt range is worth browsing. Fruit-led liquids of this type commonly cover profiles such as strawberry, watermelon, mango, cherry, grape, pineapple and peach, often with ice versions alongside the standard ones. Availability moves around from batch to batch, so check the Elux category in the shop for what is in stock today rather than relying on a fixed list.

One practical tip: if you use a single device and swap flavours, rinse the pod or replace it between very different profiles. Berry sweetness lingers in cotton, and a cola or menthol liquid added to a berry-soaked coil will taste muddled for the first few draws.

Performance and Puff Delivery

A bottle does not have a puff count printed on it the way a disposable does, so it helps to understand what drives consumption. How far 10ml goes depends on your device wattage, your draw length and how often you vape. As a planning estimate rather than a lab figure, a 10ml bottle at typical pod-kit settings works out to somewhere in the region of 700 to 1,800 puffs. Short, gentle draws at low power sit at the upper end; long draws at higher power sit at the lower end.

For comparison, a single-use device with a 2ml reservoir was usually marketed at several hundred to a couple of thousand puffs. The 10ml bottle holds the equivalent of five 2ml pod fills, so in volume terms you are getting around five disposables' worth of liquid, though the liquid is only part of the cost once you add a device and coils.

In daily terms:

  • Light use: a few dozen puffs a day, a bottle can last more than a fortnight.
  • Moderate use: roughly 2ml a day, about five days to a week.
  • Heavy use: 3 to 4ml a day, a bottle may last under three days.

Throat hit at 20mg/ml with nic salts is noticeable but smooth. If you are used to 20mg disposables, which are the same strength, the sensation will feel familiar. If you come from cigarettes, the hit is closer to a cigarette than low-strength freebase liquid, which is often why 20mg is the step people choose when switching. Vapour production is modest by design. Low-power pod devices are made for flavour and nicotine delivery rather than clouds, so expect a light to moderate plume.

The things that most affect real-world performance are:

  • Wattage: too low gives a cool, weak vape; too high gives a hot, harsh one.
  • Coil condition: a tired coil flattens flavour long before it stops working.
  • Priming: a coil that is not fully soaked will taste burnt from the first draw.
  • Draw style: slow, steady draws give better flavour than quick, hard pulls.

Reliability is generally good because the liquid is a mainstream nic salt format. Most problems that look like a bad bottle turn out to be device issues, and the troubleshooting section below covers them.

Choosing Your Nicotine Strength

This listing is the 20mg/ml version, and it is worth being clear about who that strength is for. In the UK, 20mg/ml (2%) is the legal ceiling for retail e-liquid, so you cannot buy anything stronger from a licensed shop. A lower strength, commonly 10mg/ml in nic salt ranges, is also available for many flavours, and for plenty of people it is the better choice.

As a general rule of thumb used by many stop-smoking services and vape retailers:

  • 20mg/ml: for people who smoke around ten or more cigarettes a day, who are moving from 20mg disposables, or who find that lower strengths leave cravings unsatisfied.
  • 10mg/ml: for lighter smokers, for those partway through reducing, or for anyone who finds 20mg too strong.
  • Lower than 10mg: for people close to stopping nicotine altogether, typically in a freebase or shortfill format rather than a nic salt.

Signs that 20mg is too strong include nausea, light-headedness, headaches, a racing heart or a persistent harsh feeling in the throat. If you notice them, stop, take a break and consider a lower strength. Signs it is too weak are the opposite: you keep reaching for the device, cravings return within minutes and you find yourself chain vaping. Chain vaping on a lower strength can actually deliver more total nicotine than careful use of a stronger one, so the right strength is the one that lets you vape less often.

Nicotine strength and device power interact. Nic salts are designed for low-wattage use because the nicotine delivery is efficient and the hit is already strong. Use 20mg at 25W or more and the hit becomes unpleasant and you consume the bottle fast. Keep power modest and the same strength feels smooth.

If you want to reduce nicotine over time, the usual approach is to step down gradually. Move from 20mg to 10mg, hold there for a few weeks, and only then consider going lower. Free local stop-smoking services in England and across the UK can provide support, and this page is general information rather than medical advice. If you are pregnant, have a heart condition or take regular medication, speak to a GP or pharmacist before using any nicotine product.

Coil, Mesh and Device Compatibility

The liquid does not contain a coil, but the coil in your device decides how it performs, so this is the section that saves you the most money and frustration. Nic salt e-liquid works well in devices that were built for it: refillable pod systems with a coil resistance between roughly 0.6 and 1.2 ohms and an output of around 8 to 18 watts.

Most modern pod kits use one of three coil types:

  • Mesh coils: a flat sheet of metal mesh gives a large surface area, quick ramp-up and even heating. Flavour is usually crisp and the coil handles sweet liquids reasonably well.
  • Ceramic coils: porous ceramic wicks give very consistent flavour and long life in some designs, though they can be slow to prime and may crack if run dry.
  • Cotton-wicked wire coils: the traditional style, still common in budget pods, with good flavour but a tendency to burn if the liquid runs low.

For a blueberry and raspberry blend, any of these will work as long as the coil is correctly primed. Sweet fruit liquids use sweeteners that can build up as residue on the coil, so expect a coil to last somewhere between one and three weeks with regular use, or roughly two to four bottles, depending on how hard you vape. When the flavour starts tasting dull, slightly burnt or oddly bitter, the coil is done and replacing it will fix the problem.

What to avoid:

  • Sub-ohm tanks run above 30W: they are built for thicker, high-VG liquid. A 20mg nic salt in a sub-ohm tank is harsh, wasteful and can deliver a lot more nicotine than intended.
  • Devices with tiny fill ports and wide nozzles: check the bottle tip fits before opening it. Some kits include a needle-tip bottle or a separate dropper for this reason.
  • Pre-filled disposable pods that cannot be opened: they cannot be refilled and should not be tampered with.

Before buying, check that your kit is rated for nic salts. Most mouth-to-lung pod systems are, and the manufacturer page for the device will say so. If you are unsure, ask us before ordering.

Battery Life, Charging and Power Settings

A bottle of e-liquid has no battery, so charging is entirely a device matter. The practical question is which battery size to look for in a kit to pair with it, and how to handle it safely.

Pod kits that suit nic salts typically carry batteries between about 400mAh and 1,000mAh. A 400 to 600mAh pod device is pocket-sized and suits light to moderate use, usually lasting most of a day. Larger 800 to 1,000mAh devices stretch to a day and a half for moderate users, and they matter more for heavy users who would otherwise be recharging mid-afternoon. Most current devices charge over USB-C and fill from empty in roughly 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the battery and the charger.

Battery habits worth adopting:

  • Use the cable supplied with the device, or a reputable USB-C cable and a standard plug.
  • Do not leave a device charging overnight or unattended.
  • Do not charge or store a device somewhere hot, including a car in summer.
  • Stop using any device with a swollen casing, a cracked battery cover or one that gets unusually hot.
  • Keep loose batteries away from coins and keys in pockets and bags.

Power settings are straightforward. Many pod kits are fixed output, so there is nothing to adjust. Variable-wattage devices usually default to around 10 to 12W, which is a sensible starting point for this liquid. Raise power by a watt at a time only if flavour is faint and the coil is fresh; if the vape feels hot or harsh, reduce it.

Disposal matters here. Vape devices, pods with batteries and loose batteries are electrical waste, and lithium cells in ordinary bins cause fires in collection lorries and waste plants. Take them to a household waste recycling centre, or to a shop that offers a take-back service. UK retailers of electrical goods are required to provide a route for returning old items, and many vape shops do. Empty bottles can usually be rinsed and recycled with household plastic where your council accepts them, but check your local rules and keep any residue away from children and pets until it is disposed of.

Design and Build Quality of the Bottle

A 10ml e-liquid bottle is a simple object, so build quality comes down to a handful of practical details: how well it seals, how easy the nozzle is to control and how readable the label is. In these respects the standard Elux nic salt bottle is a typical modern UK bottle, and that is what you want from this format.

  • Material: soft, squeezable plastic that lets you apply gentle pressure and release liquid drop by drop. The softness also means you can over-squeeze, so work slowly.
  • Nozzle: a narrow tip that fits the fill ports of most pod kits. It makes filling cleaner than wider-mouth bottles and helps avoid flooding the airflow channel.
  • Closure: a child-resistant cap with a tamper-evident ring. Both are legally required, and the ring tells you the bottle has not been opened before you broke it.
  • Label: shows the flavour, the 20mg/ml strength, the health warning, ingredients and batch details. Check the strength printed on the label against what you ordered when it arrives.

Child-resistant closures can be fiddly for adults too. Press down and turn, rather than just twisting, and if your hands find it difficult, ask someone for help rather than forcing it. Never decant liquid into an unlabelled container, and keep the bottle upright and out of reach of children and pets at all times. Nicotine liquid can be harmful if swallowed or absorbed through the skin in quantity, and if there is any contact with skin or eyes, wash with plenty of water.

Storage affects both safety and flavour. Keep the bottle somewhere cool and dark. Heat and sunlight degrade nicotine and flavourings over time, turning the liquid darker and making it taste flatter or harsher. Stored properly, a sealed bottle should stay in good condition until its best-before date, and an opened one should be used within a few months. If the liquid has turned very dark brown or smells off, replace it.

Finally, check the packaging when it arrives. A damaged seal, a leaking cap or a bottle that is noticeably under-filled should be reported to us with a photo so we can sort out a replacement.

How to Fill and Use It Properly

Because this is a refill rather than a disposable, there is no activation step. The liquid goes into a compatible device, and you vape when you are ready. The method matters more than people expect, so follow these steps for a clean first fill.

  • 1. Switch off and detach: turn the device off, and if it has a removable pod, take it out. If your pod fills from the side, find the fill port, which is usually a silicone plug.
  • 2. Open the bottle: press down, turn the cap and remove it, then check the nozzle is secure.
  • 3. Fill slowly: hold the pod upright, insert the nozzle and squeeze gently. Stop slightly below the maximum fill line. Do not cover or flood the central airflow tube.
  • 4. Close up: push the plug firmly back into place and wipe any spilled liquid off the pod and your hands.
  • 5. Let it soak: wait five to ten minutes so liquid fully reaches the coil. This is the single most important step for avoiding a dry, burnt first draw.
  • 6. Start gently: take a few short, low-power draws before settling into normal use.

Most pod devices are either draw-activated or button-activated. Draw-activated kits fire when you inhale, while button kits need a press, and the manual will tell you which. If your device has adjustable airflow, start with it slightly tighter, since nic salts suit a restricted mouth-to-lung draw, and open it up only if the vape feels too tight.

Refill when the pod is about a quarter full rather than letting it run empty. Dry-hitting a coil that has no liquid is the quickest way to ruin it, and the burnt taste can linger. When you switch to a new flavour, replace or clean the pod first.

For safety, never vape while driving, keep the device away from young children and do not use it near flammable materials. Always replace the bottle cap after filling and store the bottle upright. If you are filling away from home, do it over a surface you can wipe clean, since the liquid stains fabric and can mark electronics.

Troubleshooting Common Problems

Most complaints about nic salt liquids come from the device rather than the liquid. Here are the issues we hear about most often, with the usual cause and fix.

  • Burnt or dry taste on the first draws. The coil has not soaked properly. Wait a few more minutes, take gentle draws with the airflow open, and check there is liquid above the coil. If it persists, the coil may be faulty or at the end of its life, so replace it.
  • Flavour has gone flat. This is normally a worn coil, or sometimes vaper's tongue, where you temporarily stop tasting a familiar flavour. Switch to a different profile for a day or two and see whether it returns. If it does not, change the coil.
  • Leaking from the pod or device. Common causes are overfilling, a loosely seated pod or a plug that is not pushed in fully. Wipe it clean, refill to below the line and make sure the plug is secure. Leaks are also more likely after a flight or a change in altitude, because air pressure changes.
  • Gurgling or spitting. Condensation has pooled in the airway. Blow gently back through the mouthpiece, wipe it clean and use less airflow.
  • Throat hit too harsh. Reduce the wattage, tighten the airflow slightly or drop to 10mg/ml. Harshness at 20mg usually means the device is running too hot.
  • No vapour or no firing. Check the battery, clean the contacts between the pod and the device with a dry cloth and make sure the pod is seated correctly. If the device flashes a light, the manual will explain the code.
  • Headache, dizziness or nausea. Stop vaping, drink some water and rest. These symptoms often indicate too much nicotine, and a lower strength may suit you better.
  • The liquid looks darker than before. Slight darkening over time is normal for nic salts, but very dark liquid or a sharp, unpleasant smell means it should be replaced.

If you have tried these fixes and the problem remains, contact us with the device model and a description of what is happening, and we will help work out whether it is the liquid, the coil or the device.

Who Elux Blueberry Raspberry 20mg Is For, and Who Should Skip It

No single product suits everyone, and being straightforward about that saves returns and wasted money. Here is who this liquid is aimed at, and who is better off elsewhere.

It suits:

  • Smokers switching to vaping. At 20mg/ml with a smooth nic salt hit, it is a common starting point for people who smoke around ten or more cigarettes a day and want a strength that stops cravings.
  • Former disposable users. If you have been using 20mg disposables, this is the same nicotine strength in a refillable format, and you can reuse a pod kit rather than buying a device each time.
  • Fans of fruit and berry flavours. If you enjoy mixed-berry sweets or fruit-flavoured drinks, this profile will be familiar territory.
  • People who value running cost. Refilling a pod from a 10ml bottle is usually cheaper than disposables over the long run.

You should skip it if:

  • You are under 18. It is illegal to sell nicotine products to anyone under 18 in the UK, and illegal to buy them on behalf of someone under 18.
  • You have never smoked or vaped. Vaping is not risk-free, nicotine is addictive and non-smokers have no reason to start.
  • You are pregnant or have a heart condition. Speak to a GP, pharmacist or midwife before using any nicotine product.
  • You want a cooling, menthol or ice finish. This flavour does not advertise one, so choose an ice variant in the range.
  • You prefer large clouds. Nic salts at 20mg in a sub-ohm tank are the wrong combination. Look at a lower-strength freebase or a shortfill instead.
  • You are sensitive to strong sweetness. Berry liquids tend to be sweet, so a tobacco or lightly flavoured liquid may suit you better.

The NHS describes vaping as far less harmful than smoking, while stressing that it is not risk-free and that it is intended as a tool to quit smoking rather than as a lifestyle choice for non-smokers. If your goal is to stop smoking, local stop-smoking services combine very well with a vape and offer support at no cost.

Value for Money and How It Compares

Value for an e-liquid is a calculation of cost per millilitre, how long a bottle lasts and what else you must buy to use it. Here is a fair way to think about each.

Against disposables. A typical disposable holds 2ml of liquid. A 10ml bottle contains five times as much. Even if the bottle costs somewhat more than one disposable, you are getting five fills, and you keep the device. Add a pod kit and an occasional coil, and the bottle route usually works out cheaper from the second or third bottle onwards. It is also kinder to the environment, since you avoid throwing away a battery and circuit board every few days. Of course, a refillable system needs a small upfront investment and some basic maintenance, which is the honest trade-off.

Against other nic salt ranges. The 10ml 20mg nic salt market is crowded, and most established brands sell comparable liquid at similar prices. Pod Salt, Nasty Salt, IVG Salts, Dinner Lady and Bar Juice all offer 10ml bottles in this format, usually with 10mg and 20mg options. A fair summary of how they differ:

  • Elux: strong brand recognition from its disposables, so a familiar choice for people who have vaped those flavours and want a refillable equivalent. The fruit-led flavour range is the draw.
  • Pod Salt and Nasty Salt: long-established ranges with broad flavour lists, often with a slightly different sweetness balance.
  • IVG Salts and Bar Juice: wide selections, frequently on promotion, which can make them cheaper per bottle at some retailers.
  • Dinner Lady: dessert and fruit blends with a loyal following, generally priced in the same bracket.

None of these is objectively better; flavour preference is personal. If you are choosing between brands for the first time, buy one bottle of each rather than stocking up on one you have not tasted. Multi-buy offers can bring the cost per bottle down if you find a flavour you will use up before its date.

The hidden costs to factor in are replacement coils or pods, which typically add a few pounds every couple of weeks, and the device itself. Even so, for a regular daily vaper a bottle-based setup tends to be the more economical long-term option.

Check the current price and any multi-buy offer on this page, as they change. Pair this liquid with a suitable pod kit, keep the coils fresh and treat the bottle as a refill supply, and you will have a flexible, reasonably priced alternative to disposables that suits Britain's current rules.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Best value per ml in the category
  • Choose your own device and coil
  • Available in a wide strength ladder

Cons

  • Refilling can leak if you overfill
  • Coil priming has a small learning curve
  • You handle the bottle — less discreet than pods

Customer Buying Tips

  • Match the strength to how much you smoked: 20+/day → 10-20 mg nic salt; 10/day → 10 mg; under 5/day → 3-6 mg freebase.
  • Match the ratio to your device: pod kits take 50/50, sub-ohm tanks take 70/30 shortfill.
  • Don't overfill: leaving the airhole clear prevents gurgling and leaking.
  • Shake before use so the nicotine and flavour integrate evenly.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose 10mg or 20mg nicotine strength?

This listing is 20mg/ml, the highest strength legally available in the UK, and it is aimed at people who smoke around ten or more cigarettes a day or who are switching from 20mg disposables. If you smoke less, or find 20mg harsh or nauseating, a 10mg/ml bottle is usually a better fit.

How do I charge it?

The bottle itself has no battery, so there is nothing to charge. You charge the pod kit or vape device you use it in, normally by USB-C, which takes roughly 30 to 90 minutes depending on the battery size. Use the supplied cable and do not leave a device charging unattended.

Can I use it in a sub-ohm tank or a disposable vape?

No, it is not suitable for either. It is designed for refillable low-power pod kits, ideally 0.6 to 1.2 ohm coils at around 8 to 18W, and a sub-ohm tank would make the hit harsh and use up the bottle quickly. Single-use vapes cannot be refilled and should never be opened or tampered with.

Are there other flavours in the Elux nic salt range?

Yes, the Elux nic salt range typically covers other fruit and ice profiles beyond Blueberry Raspberry, including options such as strawberry, watermelon, mango, cherry, grape and pineapple. Availability changes between batches, so check the Elux category on the site for what is currently in stock.

How long will a 10ml bottle last?

As a rough guide, a moderate user going through about 2ml a day will use a bottle in around five days, light users can stretch it to two weeks or more, and heavy users may finish it in under three days. In puffs, expect something like 700 to 1,800 depending on your wattage and draw length.

Is it good value compared with disposables?

Generally yes over time. A 10ml bottle holds about five times the liquid of a typical 2ml disposable, and you reuse the device, so cost per millilitre drops quickly. You do need to budget for a pod kit up front and replacement coils every couple of weeks.

Who should not buy this product?

It is not for anyone under 18, non-smokers, or people who are pregnant or have heart problems unless a medical professional has advised otherwise. It also does not suit anyone who wants a menthol or ice finish, or a cloud-chasing setup. Nicotine is addictive, and vaping is not risk-free.

Do you deliver across the UK, and is age verification needed?

We deliver to UK addresses, and delivery options and costs are shown at checkout. Because nicotine products are restricted to people aged 18 and over, you may be asked to confirm your age when ordering and again on delivery, so make sure someone over 18 can receive the parcel.

What are the warranty and returns terms?

E-liquid is a consumable, so there is no warranty in the way a device has one, and for hygiene and safety reasons opened bottles generally cannot be returned. If your bottle arrives damaged, leaking or is not the item you ordered, contact us with a photo as soon as possible and we will arrange a replacement or refund under our returns policy.

How should I store and dispose of the bottle?

Keep it upright, sealed, in a cool dark place and out of reach of children and pets. Once empty, rinse and recycle the plastic where your council accepts it, and take any batteries or devices to a household waste recycling centre or a retailer take-back point rather than putting them in ordinary bins.

Does what it should. Smooth hit, no burnt taste even after a couple of weeks. Would recommend.
