IVG Smart Max Kiwi Passionfruit Guava at a glance

IVG Smart Max Refill Pack Kiwi Passionfruit Guava is a sealed, prefilled replacement pod made by IVG for its Smart Max system, and the manufacturer rates each pod at 10,000 puffs. It is a consumable rather than a standalone vape. You fit it to compatible Smart Max hardware, give it a moment to prime, and use it until the flavour fades or the liquid runs out. When it is spent, you lift it out and click in the next one.

The flavour is a three-fruit blend of kiwi, passionfruit and guava, which puts it in the tangy, tropical corner of the IVG refill lineup. Smart Max pods come in a long list of flavours, from menthols and colas through to berry mixes and ices, so this is the option for people who like fruit with a little acidity in it rather than plain sweetness. The wider IVG collection shows everything the brand sells in the shop, from pods and kits to e-liquids, and it is a handy place to compare before you settle on a flavour.

A few terms are worth clearing up, because pod listings use them loosely. "Refill pack" does not mean you pour anything into the pod. It means the pack contains replacement pods, each with its own e-liquid and coil built in. "Prefilled" means the pod arrives ready to use, with nothing to prepare or top up. "Nicotine salt" describes the type of nicotine in the liquid, which tends to feel smoother at higher strengths than the older freebase style. If you want to see how this format sits against other sealed options, the prefilled vape pods collection puts them side by side.

This page looks at the pod from the buyer's side. It covers what is in the pack, how the system works, what the taste is likely to be, how to fit the pod, how to look after it, and what to do if it misbehaves. We have kept to what the listing states and to points that hold true for this type of product in general. Where we have no figure, such as battery size or liquid volume, we say so rather than guess. Everything we sell is for adults aged 18 or over, and nicotine is addictive.

How a sealed Smart Max pod works

Strip away the plastic and a closed pod is a simple piece of engineering. Inside the shell sits a small reservoir of nicotine salt e-liquid, a cotton wick that carries that liquid towards the heat, and a coil that warms it into vapour. There is no battery in the pod at all. Power comes from the Smart Max device, which makes contact with the pod when you push it home. Whether the device fires on a draw or needs a button varies by model, so your device leaflet is the place to check.

The word "closed" matters. It means the pod is filled and sealed at the factory, with no fill port and nothing designed to come apart. That is the main difference from a refillable tank, where you buy bottled liquid and pour it in yourself. A closed system gives up that flexibility in exchange for a few practical advantages. The coil is matched to the liquid, so the draw feels much the same from one pod to the next, and there is nothing to spill on your hands. If the closed format is new to you, the closed pod vape kits collection shows the hardware that goes with it.

Because the coil and the liquid are bundled together, the coil lasts about as long as the liquid does. You never face the question of when to change a coil, since you change the whole pod. The flip side is that you cannot rescue a pod with a new coil or top it up when it runs low. When it is done, it is done.

Pods like this are also proprietary. The shape, the contacts and the locking tabs are designed around one device family, which is why a Smart Max pod belongs in Smart Max hardware and not in a device from another brand. Fit is not something to gamble on. If you are unsure whether your device takes this pod, ask before you order, because a mismatched pack is a wasted pack.

The puff rating of 10,000 is a manufacturer estimate of how many draws the pod can deliver under typical use. It is not a measured guarantee. Long, heavy draws use up liquid faster than short, light ones, so two people can get quite different mileage from the same pod.

Kiwi, passionfruit and guava on the palate

Start with an admission. IVG has not published a tasting breakdown for this flavour that we can quote, and we would rather say so than invent notes you may not find. What we can do is describe how these three fruits generally behave in a nicotine salt pod, so you go in with sensible expectations.

Kiwi usually supplies the green, slightly sharp edge. In vape flavours it reads as tart and juicy with a faint seedy sweetness, a little like the fruit just before it is fully ripe. Passionfruit is the aromatic one. It tends to bring a floral, almost perfumed acidity that sits in the middle of the draw and gives tropical blends their lift. Guava is the softest of the three: rounded, gently musky and sweet, and it usually lingers longest on the exhale. When the three are balanced, the result is a bright, juicy fruit mix that starts tangy and finishes smooth.

Notice what is missing from the name. There is no "ice", "mint" or "menthol" in it, so there is no reason to expect a cooling hit. This is a fruit-only flavour, and the sensation on the throat comes from the nicotine and the vapour rather than from a chill additive. If you like your fruit with a cold finish, one of the ice flavours elsewhere in the Smart Max range is a better match. If you want fruit with a bit of bite and no frost, this fits.

Sweetness is a matter of degree. Compared with candy-style flavours, a kiwi-led blend is typically more sour and less syrupy, though guava tempers that so it should not be harsh. Compared with a straight mango pod, it should feel lighter and a little more complex. Your own palate and the strength you choose will move all of this around.

Two practical tips make the flavour easier to judge. First, give the pod a fair trial of a day or so before deciding, since the first few draws after fitting are not always representative. Second, avoid vaping straight after coffee, mints or anything strongly flavoured, which dulls fruit notes quickly. Palate fatigue is real with fruit blends, and a short break often brings the tang back.

Who gets on well with this flavour

Not every fruit pod suits every vaper, and it is better to find that out before you order than after. This one is aimed at a fairly clear type of buyer, and a few people should probably look elsewhere.

It suits you if you already own an IVG Smart Max device, or you are about to buy one, and you want a fruit flavour that is not simply sweet. It suits you if you like tropical and tart flavours and tend to get bored of the same thing every day, since a three-fruit blend has enough going on to stay interesting across a long session. It also suits adults who are moving away from smoking and want a flavour that does not try to imitate tobacco. Convenience matters too. If you want no bottles, no coils and no tinkering, a sealed pod in a pocket is hard to beat.

It is a weaker fit in several cases. If you do not own compatible hardware, a pack of pods on its own does nothing, and you will need a starter device first. The pod kits collection is the place to look for one. If you prefer to adjust power, airflow or liquid, a refillable setup will give you more control than a sealed pod can. If you want a cooling finish, you will probably prefer an ice or menthol flavour. And if you want a nicotine-free option, check the strengths shown on the listing, because Smart Max pods are sold as nicotine salt rather than at zero.

One more group deserves a straight word. These products contain nicotine, which is addictive, and they are intended for adults who already use nicotine. If you are under 18, or you have never used nicotine products, this is not for you. We say that on every product page because it is the single most important thing to get right.

If you are somewhere in the middle, perhaps curious about the flavour but unsure about the format, a useful test is to ask what you want from a vape day to day. If the answer is "simple and consistent", the sealed pod format is likely to suit. If it is "flexible and cheaper per millilitre", read on to the pros and cons.

The figures on the listing, plainly stated

Numbers first, opinions later. Here is what the listing and the manufacturer's own description give us, without any rounding in the shop's favour.

  • Brand: IVG
  • Format: prefilled replacement pod for the Smart Max system
  • Flavour: Kiwi Passionfruit Guava
  • Puff rating: 10,000, a manufacturer estimate
  • Nicotine type: nicotine salt, offered in 10mg and 20mg through the strength selector on the listing, subject to what is in stock
  • In the pack: two prefilled pods and a short leaflet
  • Coil: built into each pod and not replaceable
  • Battery: in the Smart Max device, not in the pod

Several things are deliberately absent. We do not quote a milliamp figure, a coil resistance or an e-liquid volume for the pod, because none of those appears on the listing and we are not prepared to make them up. If a retailer gives you a very precise capacity for a sealed pod and cannot show where it came from, treat it with caution.

It is worth understanding what the puff rating means. A "puff" in this context is a standardised estimate rather than a count of actual draws. Real-world use varies enormously. A short, gentle sip uses far less liquid than a long, hard pull, and a pod used with a low battery behaves differently from one used on a full charge. As a rough illustration only, if you took 200 puffs a day then 10,000 puffs would stretch to about 50 days, while at 600 puffs a day it would be closer to 17. Those are arithmetic examples, not promises, and most people find the real number falls short of the headline figure.

The simplest way to compare value is to look at price per pod against how long a pod lasts you in practice, and to remember that a pack holds two. If you want to see how other products with the same rating compare, the 10,000 puff vapes collection groups them in one place. Different brands count differently, so treat any comparison as a guide rather than a verdict.

Activating a fresh pod without wasting it

Preparation takes about two minutes, and most disappointing first sessions come down to skipping it. The steps below are the sensible order, and they work for nearly any sealed pod system. Your leaflet has the exact details for your device, so treat this as a companion to it rather than a replacement.

  • Check the device first. Make sure it has charge. A pod on a flat battery tastes weak and gives you a false impression of the flavour.
  • Open the pack with dry hands. Take one pod out and look it over. If you see cracks or wetness on the outside, set it aside and contact us.
  • Remove any seal. Peel off whatever film or plug covers the mouthpiece or contacts. A pod fitted with its seal still on will give no vapour and may look faulty when it is not.
  • Push it home. Line it up and press until it seats fully. You want a firm fit and no wobble. Do not twist or force it if it resists, since that points to the wrong alignment or the wrong device.
  • Wait. Leave the pod to stand for around a minute so the wick can soak up liquid. This is the step people most often skip, and drawing on a dry wick is the quickest route to a burnt taste.
  • Start gently. Take two or three short, soft draws, then settle into your normal rhythm.

Once it is running, a few habits help it last. Take measured draws rather than long, hard ones. Avoid chain vaping, which does not give the wick time to resupply the coil. If the vapour thins out, rest for a minute before assuming something has gone wrong.

When the pod is finished, remove it with the device off, if your model allows that, and do not pull it out sideways with force. Fit the second pod from the pack the same way. A used pod still holds a small amount of residue and plastic, so it should not go in with ordinary recycling. Check your local council guidance on where to take used vape waste, and keep spent pods away from children and pets.

Power, charging and spare pod storage

A pod is only as good as the power behind it, and that power lives in the device. The pod has no battery, which is why this listing carries no battery figure. Anything you read about a pack of refills that mentions milliamp hours is describing hardware, not the pod itself.

That does not make the battery irrelevant. A device running low delivers a thin, lukewarm vapour, and many people read that as a flat pod when it is really a flat battery. Before you swap out a pod that seems weak, charge the device and try again. Use the cable and method in your device leaflet, avoid leaving it plugged in unattended for long periods, and do not charge it on a soft surface where heat can build up. If you are shopping for hardware with larger battery and puff capacity in mind, the big puff vape kits collection is a sensible starting point, though you should check that anything you buy takes Smart Max pods.

Storage is the other half of keeping a pod in good condition. A few simple rules cover almost everything.

  • Keep unused pods in their original packaging until you need them, so contacts stay clean and the mouthpiece stays covered.
  • Store them upright, or as the packaging suggests, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and radiators.
  • Do not leave them in a hot car or a coat pocket against your body for long periods. Heat thins the liquid and raises the chance of leaks.
  • Keep them away from keys, coins and anything that could damage the contacts or puncture the shell.
  • Store them out of reach of children and pets. Nicotine is hazardous if swallowed or absorbed, and a spilled pod is a risk.

Look at any date printed on the pack and use older stock first. We do not state a shelf life here because the listing does not give one, and it is better to follow the date on the box than to trust a guess from us.

If you travel, a sealed pod is easy to carry, but keep it in a small bag or case rather than loose, and let the pressure settle for a minute before you use it if you have been on a flight, since changes in cabin pressure can push liquid around.

The honest pros and cons of this pod

Start with what you gain. A sealed Smart Max pod is quick to use, tidy to handle and consistent from one pod to the next. For many adults who are moving from smoking to vaping, that simplicity is the whole attraction.

What works in its favour

  • It is clean. There are no bottles, droppers or spills to manage.
  • The coil is primed at the factory, so the draw is predictable from the first session.
  • The pack holds two pods, so you have a spare ready when the first runs out.
  • The flavour is a distinctive one, tangy and tropical rather than another generic berry.
  • It travels easily, with nothing to refill and no loose liquid.

What counts against it

  • It costs more per millilitre than bottled e-liquid, because you are paying for convenience and a built-in coil.
  • The pod only fits compatible Smart Max hardware, so you are tied to one device family.
  • You cannot change flavour part-way through, and you cannot top up a pod that is running low.
  • Used pods are plastic waste that needs to be disposed of properly.
  • The puff rating is a manufacturer estimate, so real mileage will vary.
  • Strengths are limited to the salt options on the listing, with no nicotine-free version of this pod.

It also helps to compare the format with its nearest relative. A disposable vape is also sealed and also effortless, but you throw the battery away with the liquid. A pod system keeps the battery and replaces only the consumable part, which tends to be better for people who vape every day, though the upfront cost of a device is a factor.

Weigh these up against how you actually vape. If you value simplicity and are happy with one device family, the trade-offs are easy to accept. If you like experimenting with liquids, or you want the lowest possible running cost, a refillable system will suit you better.

Fixing a pod that tastes off or fails

Most pod faults are small ones, and the majority clear up in under a minute. Work through the list below in order before deciding something is broken. Most of the time the culprit is on the first or second line.

  • No vapour at all. Check that any seal has been removed, that the pod is pushed fully home, and that the device has charge. Remove the pod, wipe the contacts gently with a dry cloth, and refit it.
  • A burnt or scorched taste. This usually means the coil has run dry. Either the pod is nearly empty, or it was used too soon after fitting, or the draws were too long and too hard. Give a fresh pod a full minute to wick and take shorter pulls.
  • Weak flavour from a new pod. Charge the device first. If the battery is fine, the cause may be palate fatigue, so rest for a while or sip some water and try again.
  • Gurgling or liquid at the mouthpiece. A little condensation is normal. Real leaking is not. Wipe the mouthpiece, hold the device upright for a minute, and use gentler draws. If the pod keeps weeping, replace it and let us know.
  • Vapour that thins out gradually. This is how a pod ends its life. The flavour fades, the vapour drops and the taste turns slightly bitter. Fit the next one.
  • Pod will not seat. Do not force it. Check you have the right device and the right orientation, and look for debris in the socket.
  • Device lights flashing. Light patterns differ by model, so check your leaflet. Many indicate low battery or a connection problem.

If you have tried those steps and the pod still fails, it may be faulty. Faulty items are replaced free of charge, and the quickest way to sort it is to contact the team with your order number and a short description or a photo of the problem. Say whether you have tried the second pod from the same pack, since that tells us whether the fault lies with the pod or the hardware.

Please do not try to open a pod to repair it. The liquid contains nicotine and can irritate skin and eyes, and a pod forced apart cannot be reassembled. If liquid does get on your skin, wash it off with plenty of water.

Hardware, neighbouring flavours and upgrade options

Hardware comes first when you shop for refills. A pod without a matching device does nothing, so confirm you have the right Smart Max unit before buying more than one pack. If you are still choosing, the kit and pod collections linked on this page show what is available, and we are happy to confirm compatibility if you contact us before ordering.

Within the same family, the obvious next step is to explore a neighbouring flavour. If kiwi, passionfruit and guava appeals but you want something sweeter, the Tropical Fruits and Triple Mango pods in the Smart Max range sit in related territory, with less sharpness and more of a ripe, juicy character. If you enjoy the tang but would like a cold finish, an ice flavour from the same line will add a cooling note without changing the system you use. And if you find a kiwi-led blend too sour, a rounder option such as Pineapple Ice or a berry mix may suit better.

Think about rotation too. Many regular users keep two flavours on the go and alternate them, which helps with palate fatigue and keeps each flavour tasting fresh for longer. Because a pack holds two pods, buying two different flavours gives you four pods across two profiles, which is a cheap way to find a favourite.

Stepping up in terms of puff rating is another option. Higher-rated products exist, and the 15,000 puff range is the next category many people consider. Remember that a bigger number on the box means a larger or differently built product, not necessarily a better one, and it will not work in the Smart Max device unless it is a Smart Max pod.

If you decide the sealed approach is not for you, a refillable vape pods setup gives you control over the liquid. You buy bottled e-liquid, pour it in, and choose from a far wider spread of flavours and strengths. The cost per millilitre is usually lower, but you take on the filling, the coil changes and the occasional mess.

Whichever way you go, the sensible approach is to start with one pack, check you like the flavour and the hardware, and then order more. Impulse buying six packs of a flavour you have never tried is the most common way to end up with pods you do not want.

Choosing a nicotine strength with care

Strength is the setting people most often get wrong, so it deserves a proper look. Smart Max pods are made with nicotine salt, and the listing offers 10mg and 20mg through the strength selector, depending on stock. The figure is milligrams of nicotine per millilitre of liquid, and 20mg is the highest strength permitted for these products in the UK. There is no zero-nicotine version of this pod.

The type of nicotine changes how the numbers feel. Nicotine salt e-liquids are formulated so that the nicotine is absorbed more efficiently and the throat hit stays smoother than the older freebase liquids at the same strength. In practice, a 20mg salt feels firm and can be noticeable on a long draw, while a 10mg salt is noticeably softer. The labels look similar, but the experience is not the same as a 10mg or 20mg freebase bottle.

As a rough guide, and nothing more than that, many adults who currently smoke a fair amount tend to look at the higher strength, while those who vape lightly, or who vape little and often, often find the lower strength more comfortable. If you take very frequent short draws, a lower strength can be easier to manage. If you take long sessions, the higher strength may feel too much. These are common patterns rather than rules, and the right answer depends on you.

A few cautions apply. Start lower if you are unsure, because it is easy to move up and unpleasant to overshoot. Watch for signs that the strength is too high, such as dizziness, nausea, a racing heart or a persistent harsh throat, and stop if you notice them. Do not mix strengths between pods in a way that makes it hard to track how much you are using. And if you do not currently use nicotine, do not start. These products are for existing nicotine users, and nothing on this page is medical advice.

If you are unsure which strength to pick, the practical answer is to order the pack in the lower strength first. If it feels too light after a few days, move up on the next order. That costs you very little and avoids the discomfort of guessing high.

Delivery, returns and age checks explained

Delivery is simple here, and it is designed around the fact that a pod is something you tend to need just as the last one runs out. Orders placed before 4pm on a weekday are dispatched the same day. We only list stock sourced through UK distributors, and the product shows as available on the day you order.

The delivery options and costs shown on the listing are as follows. Royal Mail Tracked 24, the next-day service, costs £1.99 on orders under £20 and is free on orders over £20. DPD Next Working Day costs £3.99, or £2.99 on orders over £20, and is free on orders over £100. Every parcel goes out in discreet plain packaging with nothing on the outside to say what is inside. The shipping information page has the full detail for UK orders, and it is worth a read if you are working to a deadline.

Age checks are part of buying here. You must be 18 or over, and age is verified at checkout on every order, whatever its size. If the check cannot be completed, the order cannot go ahead. The age verification page explains how the process works for anyone ordering for the first time.

Returns are straightforward but strict, for sound reasons. Unopened, unsealed product can be returned within 14 days. Opened consumables cannot be returned for health and safety reasons, which is standard across the trade for anything that goes near the mouth. If an item turns out to be faulty, it is replaced free of charge. Keep your order confirmation, and if something is wrong, tell us as soon as you notice rather than weeks later.

Before you place the order, run through a short checklist.

  • Confirm you own, or have ordered, a compatible Smart Max device.
  • Choose your strength deliberately and check which options are shown on the listing.
  • Look at the price table for any multibuy offer before you finalise the basket.
  • Add enough to take the order over £20 if you want next-day delivery to be free.

If something is unclear, ask first. A quick question about stock, compatibility or delivery is far cheaper than a wrong pack, and that is exactly what the team is there for.

  • Zero-mess flavour change — snap in, done
  • Consistent draw from a factory-primed coil
  • Long shelf-life, easy to travel with

Cons

  • Costs more per ml than freestanding e-liquid
  • Pods are proprietary to a specific device

Customer Buying Tips

  • Check device compatibility: a pod must match your exact device family (e.g. "Elfa Pro" pods only fit Elfa Pro devices).
  • Store sealed pods upright, below 30 °C — heat and sunlight drain flavour.
  • Rotate flavours: using the same pod flavour back-to-back dulls your palate within a week.

Frequently asked questions

How many puffs does the IVG Smart Max Kiwi Passionfruit Guava pod give?

IVG rates each Smart Max pod at 10,000 puffs. That is a manufacturer estimate rather than a guarantee, because real use varies with draw length, how often you vape and how well charged the device is. The pack holds two pods, so you have a spare ready when the first one runs out. Treat the headline figure as a guide for comparing products rather than a precise promise of how long a pod will last you.

What does Kiwi Passionfruit Guava taste like?

IVG has not published a detailed tasting breakdown, so we describe it in general terms. Expect a bright, juicy tropical fruit blend in which kiwi adds a tart, green edge, passionfruit adds an aromatic, slightly floral tang and guava rounds things off with soft sweetness. There is no ice or menthol in the name, so you should not expect a cooling finish. Judge it over a day or so rather than after the first few draws.

Will this pod fit my vape?

It is a replacement pod for the IVG Smart Max system. Pods of this type are proprietary, which means they fit only the device family they were designed for. A pod from another brand, or from a different IVG range, will not necessarily fit. If you are unsure whether your hardware is compatible, contact us before ordering and we will confirm it, because a mismatched pack cannot be returned once opened.

Is there a nicotine-free version of this pod?

No. Smart Max pods are sold as nicotine salt in 10mg and 20mg strengths, shown through the strength selector on the listing and subject to what is in stock. There is no zero-nicotine option for this flavour. These products are intended for adults who already use nicotine. If you do not currently use nicotine, you should not start, and nicotine-free e-liquids are better explored elsewhere in the shop.

Should I choose 10mg or 20mg?

Twenty milligrams is the highest strength allowed in the UK and feels firm, particularly on long draws. Ten milligrams is noticeably softer and is often preferred by lighter users or people who take frequent short puffs. If you are unsure, start with the lower strength, because it is easy to move up and unpleasant to overshoot. This is general information, not medical advice, and the right choice depends on your own habits.

Does the pack come with a battery or charger?

No. The pack contains prefilled replacement pods and a short leaflet. The battery lives in the Smart Max device, and so does the charging. You will need a compatible device and its own charging cable, which are sold separately. If you do not yet own a device, look at the pod kit and closed pod kit collections first, and make sure whatever you choose takes Smart Max pods.

Can I refill the pod when it runs out?

No. The pod is a sealed, factory-primed unit with the e-liquid and coil built in, and it is not designed to be opened or topped up. Prising it apart risks leaks and damage and gains you nothing. When a pod is finished, remove it and fit the next one. If you would rather fill your own, a refillable pod or tank system is the better route.

Why does my new pod taste burnt?

A burnt taste almost always means the coil has run dry. The usual causes are drawing before the wick has soaked up liquid, taking very long or hard pulls, or using a pod that is close to empty. Leave a fresh pod for a full minute after fitting, take shorter, gentler draws and make sure the device is charged. If a brand new pod still tastes burnt, contact us with your order number.

How quickly will my order arrive, and is delivery free?

Orders placed before 4pm on a weekday are dispatched the same day. Royal Mail Tracked 24 costs £1.99 under £20 and is free over £20. DPD Next Working Day is £3.99, or £2.99 over £20, and free over £100. All parcels travel in discreet plain packaging. The shipping page sets out the full detail for UK orders if you are working to a deadline.

Can I return an opened pod, and do I need to prove my age?

Opened consumables cannot be returned for health and safety reasons, but unopened, unsealed product can be returned within 14 days, and faulty pods are replaced free of charge. You must be 18 or over to buy, and age is verified at checkout on every order. If the check cannot be completed, the order cannot go ahead. The age verification page explains the process.

Smooth throat hit

Not too strong, not too mild — just right. Good for all day use without being overpowering.

Does what it says on the tin

Been using this every day for a couple of weeks now. Lasts well, no issues with leaks or anything.

Taste is as good as the reviews said

Quality feels solid. Doesn't feel cheap like some other brands I've tried. Happy with the buy.
