Lost Mary BM600 Blackurrant Apple pods: overview

The Lost Mary BM600 Prefilled Pods in Blackurrant Apple are replacement pods for the Lost Mary BM600 rechargeable pod device. Each pod is filled at the factory with 2ml of nicotine salt e-liquid, so there is nothing to pour, prime or mix. You click the pod onto the battery, give it a minute for the wick to saturate, and start vaping. When the pod runs dry you swap it for a fresh one and the same device carries on working.

Lost Mary built its name in the UK on simple, flavour-first nicotine products, and the BM600 line follows that approach. Rated at around 600 puffs per pod, it sits in the compact, everyday tier rather than the high-capacity tier. That suits people who want something light enough to carry in a jeans pocket and who would rather change pods than carry a larger device.

Blackurrant Apple pairs a dark, slightly tart blackcurrant note with a crisp green apple sweetness. It is a fruit-on-fruit profile with no menthol or ice layer, which makes it a sensible choice for vapers who find cooling flavours harsh, or who already own a few icy options and want something rounder and softer.

This page covers what the pods contain, how they perform, how the flavour behaves from the first puff to the last, how to look after them, and where they sit against similar products. We have tried to be straight about the limits as well as the strengths, because a 600-puff pod is not the right pick for everyone. Where we quote figures, treat puff counts as estimates: real-world numbers depend on how long and how often you draw.

A quick note on UK context. Nicotine vaping products sold here are capped at 20mg/ml nicotine strength, and pods and tanks are limited to 2ml of liquid. The UK ban on single-use disposable vapes, which began on 1 June 2025, targets throwaway devices. A prefilled pod for a reusable, rechargeable device is a different format, which is why pod systems like this one remain on sale. Used pods should go to a proper recycling drop-off point rather than the household bin, and we explain how below.

Specifications at a glance

Before getting into the detail, here is the practical spec sheet. These figures reflect what is typical for the Lost Mary BM600 pod format and what we can reasonably stand behind. Where a number is an estimate rather than a printed rating, we say so.

  • Brand: Lost Mary
  • Product type: prefilled replacement pod for the Lost Mary BM600 device
  • Flavour: Blackurrant Apple
  • E-liquid capacity: 2ml per pod, the maximum permitted in the UK
  • Nicotine strength: 20mg/ml nicotine salt, the UK maximum
  • Estimated puffs per pod: around 600
  • Coil type: mesh coil built into the pod
  • Battery: housed in the BM600 device, typically in the 500 to 650mAh range and rechargeable over USB-C
  • Pod fitting: push-fit magnetic or clip-in connection to the battery section
  • Draw style: mouth-to-lung, light to medium resistance
  • Activation: draw-activated, with no buttons to press
  • Liquid base: propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine blend with nicotine salts

Two things in that list deserve a closer look. First, the pod and the battery are separate parts. The pod holds the liquid and the coil, and the battery lives in the device you already own, so the pod itself does not need charging. Second, the 2ml capacity and 20mg/ml strength are not marketing choices: they are the legal ceilings for this category in the UK, so you will see the same two numbers on nearly every pod product from every brand.

If you are unsure whether you own the right battery, check for the BM600 marking on the device body. These pods are made for that device. They are not intended to fit other brands, and forcing a pod into a battery it was not designed for risks damaging the connectors or causing leaks. When in doubt, compare the pod base with your device or ask our team before ordering.

Flavour profile: what Blackurrant Apple tastes like

Blackurrant is a deceptively difficult flavour to make well. Done badly it comes across as cough-sweet syrup or something close to a cheap squash. Done well it keeps the slightly musky, tangy edge that real blackcurrants have. Lost Mary's Blackurrant Apple leans towards the second approach, using apple as a counterweight rather than a competitor.

On the inhale, the first impression is a dark berry sweetness with a gentle sharpness at the back of the tongue. The apple note arrives a beat later and reads as green, crisp and lightly tart rather than baked or candied. On the exhale the two blend into a juicy finish that lingers briefly on the palate. There is no cooling agent, so the vapour feels warm-neutral rather than frosty.

Sweetness sits at the moderate-to-high end. Anyone who prefers dry, tobacco-like or very light flavours may find it a little sugary over a long session, though the apple tartness stops it becoming cloying. If you like Ribena-style flavours, fruit sweets or blackcurrant cordial, this is familiar territory.

Flavour consistency across a pod is typically good through the first two thirds and then softens slightly as the liquid level drops and the coil runs hotter. That is normal for small mesh-coil pods and is not a fault. If a pod suddenly tastes burnt rather than just muted, it is empty and should be replaced.

If you want to try other flavours in the same BM600 pod range, the typical Lost Mary line-up has included options such as:

  • Blue Razz Lemonade, a tart blue raspberry with citrus
  • Strawberry Ice, sweet strawberry with a cooling finish
  • Watermelon Ice, juicy melon with menthol on the exhale
  • Triple Mango, a layered tropical mango profile
  • Pink Lemonade, a candy-style lemonade with berry notes
  • Blueberry Sour Raspberry, a sharper berry blend
  • Cherry Cola, a soft-drink style flavour

Stock changes from month to month, so check the shop's pod-refill category for what is currently available. Because every pod in the range is a separate purchase, you can mix flavours on the same device without any clean-up beyond wiping the connector.

Puff count and real-world performance

The 600-puff figure is the headline number, and it is worth understanding what it represents. Puff ratings are calculated in lab conditions using standardised draws, typically around 3 seconds with a fixed interval. Real vapers rarely draw to a stopwatch, so actual output varies. Treat 600 puffs as a reasonable midpoint rather than a guarantee.

In practice, a 2ml pod at 20mg/ml delivers a decent amount of nicotine for its size. If you take short, light draws the way many nicotine-salt users do, you can expect to land close to the stated number. If you take long, slow draws, you will burn through the liquid faster and finish nearer to 400 to 500 draws. Chain vaping drains a pod in a matter of hours; occasional vaping can stretch a single pod over several days.

As a rough guide to daily use:

  • Light user (a handful of puffs through the day): one pod can last four to seven days.
  • Moderate user (replacing a pack of around ten cigarettes): one pod usually lasts one to two days.
  • Heavy user (replacing a pack of twenty or more): expect to use roughly one pod a day, and consider whether a larger capacity system would suit you better.

Output quality is steady for most of the pod's life. Vapour production from a mesh coil on a 2ml pod is moderate: dense enough to feel satisfying on a mouth-to-lung draw, without the large clouds associated with sub-ohm setups. Throat hit at 20mg/ml is noticeable but smoother than a freebase liquid of the same strength, which is the main reason nicotine salts became the default in this format.

One performance habit worth building: wait a few seconds between very long sessions. Mesh coils heat quickly, and rapid back-to-back draws can overheat the wick, which dulls flavour and shortens the pod's life. Pacing yourself both improves taste and stretches the 600-puff estimate.

Design, fit and build quality

The pod is a small, translucent cartridge with a mouthpiece at the top and a connector base at the bottom. A clear window shows the liquid level, which is a genuinely useful feature: you can see how much is left instead of guessing. The flavour name and nicotine strength are printed on the pod body, and the UK-required health warning appears on the packaging and device.

Plastic quality is what you would expect at this price. The shell is rigid enough to resist light pressure in a pocket, and the mouthpiece is rounded for comfort rather than sharp-edged. It is not a premium material, and a pod dropped onto a hard floor can crack, so keep spares in the box or a case rather than loose in a bag with keys.

The seal around the pod base is where most build-quality differences show up between brands. Lost Mary's BM600 pods generally seat firmly, with an audible or tactile click, and the liquid channel is kept away from the electrical contacts. Even so, no pod is completely immune to condensation, and a small amount of moisture on the connector after use is normal.

A few handling points keep the fit reliable:

  • Push the pod in straight, not at an angle, until it seats fully.
  • Do not twist or lever a pod out sideways; pull it straight back.
  • Keep the contacts dry. Wipe them with a dry tissue if you spot any moisture.
  • Store pods upright where possible, away from radiators and direct sunlight.

The overall shape keeps the BM600 compact. The assembled device is slim and light, closer in size to a thick marker pen than to a traditional box mod, which is the main appeal of the format. If you value discreet size and a no-fuss feel, the design delivers. If you want adjustable airflow, a metal body or a screen, this system is not aimed at you.

Battery and charging

The pod itself has no battery. Power comes from the BM600 device, which uses an internal rechargeable lithium-ion cell. For this device class the capacity is typically in the 500 to 650mAh range, enough to run through one or two pods per charge for most users. Exact capacity depends on the device revision, so check the markings on your own battery if the figure matters to you.

Charging uses a USB-C connection, the same standard as most modern phones. That means you probably already have a suitable cable, and you can top up from a laptop, a plug adapter or a power bank. A full charge usually takes around 40 to 60 minutes. A low-power or very old charger can take longer, which is not a problem as long as you leave it to finish.

Practical charging advice:

  • Charge when the indicator light shows low power rather than waiting for the device to cut out completely.
  • Do not leave the device charging overnight on a soft surface such as a bed or sofa.
  • Use a reputable charger and cable. Cheap unbranded adapters can deliver unstable current.
  • Unplug once the indicator shows a full charge.
  • Keep the device away from heat, such as a car dashboard on a summer day.

Because the battery is in the device and not the pod, you only charge it, not each new pod. That is one of the real advantages of the pod format over a throwaway: the lithium-ion cell is reused across many pods instead of being thrown away after about 600 puffs. When the battery eventually stops holding charge, do not put it in a bin. Lithium cells in general waste are a fire risk in refuse lorries and recycling plants.

If you find the device dying well before the pod is empty, the usual cause is age or incomplete charging rather than the pod. Try a different cable and charger first. If problems persist, contact the retailer or Lost Mary support.

Mesh coil and pod technology

The pod has a mesh coil built in. Unlike a traditional round-wire coil, a mesh coil is a flat, perforated sheet of resistance metal, usually stainless steel or a nickel-chromium alloy, wrapped or folded against an organic cotton wick. Because the surface area is larger than a wound wire, it heats the e-liquid more evenly and over a wider area.

For you, the benefits show up in three ways. Flavour is typically more consistent, because the whole wick is heated evenly instead of a thin line. Ramp-up is quick, which is why draw-activated mesh pods respond almost immediately. And dry hits are less common when the pod is used sensibly, because the wide mesh pulls liquid across the wick more effectively.

Typical resistance for this class of pod is around 1.0 to 1.2 ohms, drawing modest power from the battery. That is gentle enough to keep the 2ml of liquid from being wasted and consistent enough for a light to medium resistance draw. You cannot change the coil: it is sealed into the pod and replaced along with it, which is part of why the format is so easy to use.

The wick takes a short time to soak when a new pod is installed. This is the most common cause of early problems. If you vape immediately after fitting a new pod, the cotton may not yet be fully saturated, and you could get a harsh or burnt taste. Wait a couple of minutes, and take two or three gentle priming draws without inhaling, then begin as normal.

Draw activation uses a small sensor that detects airflow when you inhale. There is no button, which also means there is no accidental firing in a pocket. If the sensor seems unresponsive, it is usually due to a poor pod connection or moisture rather than a fault, and the troubleshooting section below covers the checks to run.

Nicotine strength and UK rules

Lost Mary BM600 Blackurrant Apple pods are made at 20mg/ml, equal to 2 percent, which is the highest nicotine strength legally allowed for vaping products in the UK. The cap applies across the board: refillable pods, closed pods, tanks and, before the recent ban, disposables.

Whether 20mg/ml is right for you depends on your current habit. As a loose guide:

  • Moving off smoking, around ten or more cigarettes a day: 20mg/ml nicotine salt is the usual starting point, because it gives a satisfying hit and helps manage cravings.
  • Lighter smokers, or people who smoke socially: 20mg/ml can feel strong. You may find lower strengths in other pod ranges more comfortable.
  • Existing vapers on 10mg or lower: stepping up to 20mg/ml in a salt formula may feel noticeably sharper in the throat.
  • Non-smokers: nicotine is addictive. If you do not currently smoke or vape, you should not start.

Nicotine salts differ from freebase nicotine in how they feel. At 20mg/ml they are smoother and more rounded on the throat than a freebase liquid of the same strength, but the nicotine still arrives quickly. Newcomers sometimes take shorter and fewer puffs than they would on a lower-strength product for that reason.

Everything sold in the UK must carry the nicotine health warning, be notified to the regulator, and be sold only to adults aged 18 and over. We verify age on all orders, and the product must be kept out of reach of children and pets. The pods contain nicotine, which is toxic if swallowed in quantity, so store spare pods somewhere secure.

This page is general information, not medical advice. If you are pregnant, have a heart condition or take regular medication, speak to a pharmacist or GP about nicotine before using the product. If you want to stop nicotine altogether, the NHS Stop Smoking service and pharmacy nicotine replacement therapy are worth exploring.

Who it is for, and who should skip it

No single product suits everyone, and being clear about fit saves you money. Here is where the Blackurrant Apple BM600 pod works well, and where it does not.

It suits:

  • Adult smokers moving to vaping who want a simple, no-maintenance format.
  • Vapers who prefer a fruity, non-menthol flavour with a bit of tartness.
  • People who already own a Lost Mary BM600 device and want a new flavour or a refill.
  • Light to moderate users who value a small, discreet device over maximum puff count.
  • Anyone who wants to cut down on waste compared with a single-use throwaway by reusing one battery.

You may want to skip it if:

  • You do not own a compatible BM600 device. The pods will not work on their own.
  • You prefer adjustable airflow, wattage or coil options. This format is fixed and simple.
  • You vape heavily through the day. A 2ml pod will need replacing often, and a larger tank system may cost less per day.
  • You dislike sweet flavours. Blackurrant Apple is on the sweeter side.
  • You are a non-smoker. Vaping is not risk-free, and these pods contain nicotine.
  • You want a lower nicotine strength. This pod is 20mg/ml only.

A final consideration is flavour fatigue. Fruit flavours in a 2ml pod rarely cause trouble, but if you vape a lot of the same profile you may notice it dulling over time. Rotating between two or three flavours is a common habit among regular pod users, and the BM600 format makes it cheap to do.

How to fit and use the pods

Using the pod is straightforward, and it takes under a minute the first time.

  • Check the device. Make sure the BM600 battery has some charge. If the light is red or the device does not respond, charge it first.
  • Remove the pod seal. Take the new pod from its packaging and peel off any tape or plug from the mouthpiece and base.
  • Fit the pod. Line up the base with the battery socket and push it in until it clicks into place. It should feel firm and not wobble.
  • Let it soak. Wait around two minutes so the wick can absorb the liquid.
  • Prime gently. Take two or three gentle draws without inhaling, to pull liquid across the coil.
  • Start vaping. Use steady, moderate mouth-to-lung draws of two to three seconds. There is no button; the device fires when you inhale.
  • Swap when empty. When flavour fades or the liquid window shows nearly empty, pull the old pod straight out and fit a fresh one.

A few habits improve the experience. Keep the device upright between uses, to avoid liquid pooling around the coil. Take breaks of around ten to fifteen seconds between long draws. Avoid blocking the air intake with your fingers while you inhale, which can trigger leaks or weak vapour.

When a pod is finished, do not throw it in the household bin. Used pods contain a small coil and residue of nicotine liquid, and the device itself holds a lithium battery. Take empty pods to a vape recycling drop-off point. Many UK vape shops and some supermarkets and household waste recycling centres accept them, and local councils list the nearest options. The UK has been tightening waste-electrical rules, so recycling is both the responsible choice and increasingly the expected one.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most pod problems come down to a handful of causes, and almost all are fixable in a minute or two. Work through these checks before deciding something is faulty.

The device does not fire or produces no vapour. First check the battery. A flat device will not respond, so connect it to a USB-C charger for at least ten minutes. Then remove the pod and refit it, making sure it is pushed in fully and straight. Wipe the contacts with a dry tissue, as moisture can interrupt the connection. Try a few gentle draws without inhaling, because a new pod sometimes needs a bit of airflow to wake the sensor.

Weak flavour or thin vapour. This usually means the pod is nearly empty or the wick is not saturated. If it is a new pod, wait two minutes and prime. If you have been vaping for a day or more, check the liquid window. Low liquid is the most common reason for fading flavour.

Burnt or harsh taste. Stop using the pod. A burnt taste means the coil is running dry. Chain vaping on a nearly empty pod is the usual cause. Replace the pod. Continuing to vape a dry coil produces unpleasant vapour and does nothing for your throat.

Leaking or gurgling. A small amount of condensation around the base is normal. Anything more suggests the pod is not seated properly, or has been stored on its side in a warm place. Wipe it clean, refit it straight, and store it upright. If a pod leaks heavily from the start, contact the shop about a replacement.

Charging does not start. Try another cable and wall adapter. Check that the USB-C port is clean and free of lint. If the light still does not respond, leave the device for ten minutes and try again; some batteries need a short recovery period when fully drained.

The light flashes. Flashing usually signals low battery, a poor pod connection or a short timeout after a very long draw. Recharge or refit, as appropriate.

If none of these steps help, stop using the device and contact us with your order number. Do not try to open the pod or battery yourself.

Value for money and how it compares

Price should be judged per day of use, not per pod. A single 2ml pod rated at about 600 puffs costs a modest amount, and for a moderate user it can last a day or two. Over a month, that places the BM600 line roughly in line with the running cost of a pack-a-week smoking habit, and often below it, though the saving depends heavily on how you use it.

The main economic advantage of this format is that the battery is reused. When you buy a single-use throwaway, you pay for a battery, a circuit board and a plastic shell each time, and you throw them all away. With a pod system you buy that hardware once and then pay for liquid, coil and pod only. Over several weeks the difference is real, and it is also kinder to the environment.

Here is how it sits against some common alternatives, fairly:

  • Versus Elf Bar style pod systems: Elf Bar's reusable pod kits offer a similar 2ml pod, 20mg/ml strength and mesh coil. Flavour range and price are close, so the choice often comes down to which flavours you prefer and whether you already own the battery.
  • Versus Geek Bar and larger-capacity pod devices: these may offer a bigger battery or extra features, such as adjustable power or a display, at a higher upfront price. If you want more control, they make sense. If you want simplicity, the BM600 is easier.
  • Versus refillable pod kits: a refillable kit lets you choose your own e-liquid and can cost less per millilitre over time, but needs more handling, a bottle of liquid and some patience. Prefilled pods are cleaner and quicker.
  • Versus larger prefilled formats: bigger-capacity devices may last longer between changes, but the UK 2ml pod limit means the real gap is smaller than the packaging suggests.

Our honest view: the Lost Mary BM600 Blackurrant Apple pod is good value for light and moderate users who like fruity flavours and want a simple format. It is less compelling for heavy users, and it is poor value if you do not already own a compatible battery. Buy a pack that matches your usage and your device, and the numbers work.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Zero-mess flavour change — snap in, done
  • Consistent draw from a factory-primed coil
  • Long shelf-life, easy to travel with

Cons

  • Costs more per ml than freestanding e-liquid
  • Pods are proprietary to a specific device
  • Only sold at 20 mg or 10 mg — no lower strengths

Customer Buying Tips

  • Check device compatibility: a pod must match your exact device family (e.g. "Elfa Pro" pods only fit Elfa Pro devices).
  • Store sealed pods upright, below 30 °C — heat and sunlight drain flavour.
  • Rotate flavours: using the same pod flavour back-to-back dulls your palate within a week.
  • Prime the pod for 60 seconds after fitting to avoid a dry hit.

Frequently asked questions

Which nicotine strength do the Lost Mary BM600 Blackurrant Apple pods come in?

These pods are 20mg/ml nicotine salt, the highest strength allowed for vaping products in the UK. It suits smokers moving to vaping, but may feel strong for very light or occasional users. If you want a lower strength, you will need to look at a different pod range.

Do the pods need charging, and how do I charge the device?

No, the pod has no battery of its own. The BM600 device holds the rechargeable battery, which charges over USB-C and usually takes around 40 to 60 minutes. Charge it when the indicator shows low power and unplug it once it is full.

Can I use these pods in other devices?

No. They are made for the Lost Mary BM600 device and are not designed to fit other brands. Forcing a pod into the wrong battery can damage the connector or cause leaks, so check your device before ordering.

How long does one pod last?

A 2ml pod is rated at around 600 puffs. A moderate user usually gets one to two days from a pod, while a light user can stretch it to several days. Long draws and chain vaping will shorten that.

What does Blackurrant Apple taste like?

It is a dark, slightly tart blackcurrant paired with a crisp green apple sweetness, with no menthol or cooling effect. Sweetness is moderate to high, and the apple stops the blackcurrant becoming heavy.

Can I swap flavours on the same device?

Yes. Simply pull out the old pod and fit a different flavour. Wipe the connector with a dry tissue if there is any moisture, and allow a couple of minutes for the new pod's wick to soak before vaping.

Is this good value for money?

For light and moderate users with a compatible device, yes, because you reuse the battery and only replace the pod. Heavy users may find a larger system cheaper per day, and the pods are poor value if you do not already own a BM600 battery.

Who should not buy these pods?

Non-smokers, anyone under 18, and anyone who wants an adjustable or lower-strength product should not buy them. If you are pregnant or have a heart condition, speak to a pharmacist or GP before using nicotine.

How should I dispose of used pods?

Do not put them in the household bin. Take used pods and worn-out batteries to a vape recycling drop-off point, which many UK vape shops and local household waste recycling centres provide. Lithium batteries in general waste are a fire risk.

Do you deliver across the UK, and what is your returns policy?

Yes, we deliver to UK addresses and verify age at checkout and on delivery. If a pod arrives faulty, damaged or leaking, contact us with your order number and a photo, and we will arrange a replacement or refund under our returns policy. Opened pods cannot normally be returned for hygiene reasons unless they are faulty.
