Nexel Aero 7K Blue Sour Raspberry pods at a glance

The Nexel Aero 7K Prefilled Pods in Blue Sour Raspberry are replacement pods for the Nexel Aero pod device. They are sold ready-filled, so there is no bottle to handle, no dripping and no coil to swap. You click the pod into the device and you are ready to go. This page covers what to expect from the flavour, how the pod performs, how the 7K puff rating should be read, how to look after the device and how the pod compares with other pod systems sold in the UK. It is written for people who like to know exactly what they are buying before they order.

Nexel has built its range around the pod format rather than around single-use handsets. That distinction matters in Great Britain, where single-use vapes were banned from sale on 1 June 2025. A pod system is a different category of product: the device is rechargeable and reusable, and the pod is the consumable part that you replace when it runs out. Buying prefilled pods is therefore the straightforward way to keep the convenience of a closed system without throwing a battery and a charging port in the bin every few days.

The key facts at a glance:

  • Product: Nexel Aero 7K prefilled pod, Blue Sour Raspberry flavour
  • Format: closed, prefilled pod that clicks into the Nexel Aero device
  • Rated capacity: 7K, which is a puff-count rating printed on the pack (see the performance section for how to read it)
  • E-liquid volume: UK pods are limited to 2ml, so check the pack for the exact fill
  • Nicotine: UK law caps strength at 20mg/ml (2%), and the strength you choose is shown on the pack
  • Flavour family: blue raspberry with a sharp, sour edge
  • Device needed: a Nexel Aero device (sold separately from the pods)

If you are brand new to pod vaping, the short version is this: the pod holds the liquid and the coil, the device holds the battery and the airflow sensor, and the two connect with a click. Everything else on this page is detail on how well that arrangement works with this particular flavour.

Performance and puff delivery: what 7K really means

The 7K in the name is a puff-count rating. It is a figure the manufacturer uses to describe how many inhalations a pod is expected to deliver under test conditions, and it is useful as a rough guide to relative capacity rather than a promise. It helps to be realistic about it, so here is how we read it.

Puff counts depend on three things that vary from person to person: how long you draw for, how often you draw, and how much power the device delivers on each draw. A short, gentle mouth-to-lung draw of one to two seconds uses far less liquid than a long, three-second pull. Someone who takes a few puffs an hour will make a pod last far longer than someone who vapes continuously through a commute. A rating of 7,000 puffs assumes short, moderate draws. Heavy users should expect to see a lower real-world number, and light users may see a higher one.

It is also worth knowing that UK rules limit the liquid in a pod to 2ml. A 2ml pod holds a finite amount of e-liquid, and a very high puff rating on a small pod is a marketing figure that reflects the most favourable test pattern. We would rather say that plainly than leave you guessing. In practice, most people find a pod from a system like this lasts them somewhere between several days and a couple of weeks of ordinary use, depending on habit.

What you can judge much more reliably is how the puff feels, and this is where the Aero pod does reasonably well:

  • Draw activation: the device is draw-activated, so there is no button to hold. You inhale and it fires.
  • Consistency: vapour production should stay steady from the first puff to the last third of the pod, and then fade as the liquid runs low.
  • Throat feel: at 20mg/ml the hit is noticeable but smooth. At lower strengths it is softer.
  • Warm-up: there is very little ramp-up time. The first puff after a pod change is sometimes lighter while the wick saturates.

The practical advice is to judge a pod by days of use rather than by the puff number on the box. Track how long your first pod lasts and use that to plan how many you need to order.

Blue Sour Raspberry flavour profile

Blue raspberry is one of the most recognisable flavours in the vaping world, and it is not a flavour that comes from a single fruit. It is a candy-style profile, built around a bright, slightly tart raspberry note with a cooler, almost icy blue-sweet background. Think of the flavour of a blue raspberry slush rather than a bowl of fresh raspberries. The Blue Sour Raspberry pod leans into that candy character and adds a sour edge on top.

Here is how the flavour tends to unfold across a single puff:

  • Inhale: a sweet, juicy raspberry note arrives first, with the blue candy sweetness giving it that familiar slush character.
  • Mid-draw: the sour element comes through, a sharp tang on the sides of the tongue that stops the sweetness from becoming heavy.
  • Exhale: the flavour finishes clean and fairly short, with a lingering tart-sweet aftertaste rather than a thick, syrupy one.

The sour component is the thing that sets this pod apart from a straightforward blue raspberry. It acts a bit like the sherbet dusting on a sweet: it sharpens the front of the flavour and makes each puff taste a little brighter. If you find plain blue raspberry too sugary after a few hours, this is the version most likely to keep your palate interested. If you dislike sour sweets, you may find the tang too sharp, and a plain berry flavour would be the better fit.

On the question of cooling, this flavour is not a menthol or ice pod. There may be a faint freshness that comes from the blue profile, but there is no strong cooling sensation on the throat. People who want an icy hit tend to choose a dedicated ice flavour instead.

Flavour fade is a point worth mentioning. With any fruit pod, you can get used to a flavour after a long session, and it tastes less intense even though nothing has changed. Taking a break, drinking some water or switching to a different flavour for a day usually resets this. Sour profiles are slightly better at resisting that fade than purely sweet ones, which is another reason this flavour has a following.

Design and build quality of the pod

A prefilled pod is a small, simple object, but the details of its construction decide whether it is a pleasure or a nuisance to live with. The Nexel Aero pod follows the standard closed-pod design: a moulded plastic body holding the liquid reservoir, a mouthpiece at the top and a coil assembly at the base that connects to the device by contact pins.

What to look for in the build:

  • Fit: the pod should seat firmly in the device with a distinct click and no rattle. A loose fit is the most common cause of intermittent firing.
  • Mouthpiece shape: the Aero mouthpiece is shaped to sit comfortably between the lips, with a slightly flattened profile rather than a hard round tube.
  • Liquid window: a translucent body lets you see the remaining liquid so you can plan a replacement before it runs dry.
  • Seals: the top and bottom of the reservoir are sealed and the pod arrives with protective caps or tape over the vent points, which you remove before first use.

As a consumable, a pod is not built to last forever, and it should not be judged as if it were. The plastic is light, and the body is designed to be used up and then recycled. Dropping a pod from a height onto a hard floor can crack the reservoir, so keep spares in a case or in the original packaging rather than loose in a bag with keys and coins.

One advantage of the closed format is leak resistance. Because the liquid is sealed in at the factory and the airflow path is engineered around the coil, a good prefilled pod is far less likely to leak than a refillable one. Leaks can still happen when pods are stored on their sides in hot places, such as a car dashboard in summer, or when a pod is dropped, so treat them with a little care.

The pod and the device are designed as a pair, which is both a strength and a limitation. They fit each other well, but you cannot swap in a different brand's pod. Before you order, confirm that you own a Nexel Aero device and not a different Nexel model, as pods are not interchangeable between product lines.

Battery and charging on the Nexel Aero device

The battery lives in the device rather than in the pod, which is the main practical difference between a pod system and a single-use vape. Pods in this class are usually paired with a rechargeable battery in the region of 500 to 700 mAh, charged by USB-C. Check the specification for your exact device, as the figure printed on the box or the device is the one to trust.

What that means in daily use:

  • Battery versus pod: a battery in this range will usually outlast a single pod when you vape at a normal pace, but not always. Heavy users may need to charge before the pod is empty.
  • Charging time: a full charge typically takes under an hour to around ninety minutes on a standard USB-C charger.
  • Indicator: a small LED shows when the battery is low, and often flashes to signal charging or a fault.
  • Charger choice: a standard 5V phone charger or a computer USB port is fine. You do not need a fast charger, and using a high-power one gains you nothing.

Good charging habits make a battery last longer. Charge the device on a hard surface that is not flammable, away from bedding or sofa cushions, and do not leave it plugged in overnight on a regular basis. Lithium cells are safe when treated properly, but they do not enjoy heat. Do not charge a device that is warm from a hot car, and do not charge a swollen or damaged one at all.

You do not have to wait for the light to go red before charging. Topping up a lithium battery little and often is perfectly fine and is kinder to the cell than regularly running it flat. If you plan to be away from a socket, carry a short USB-C cable and a power bank, as most pod devices will charge from either.

When the battery finally wears out after many months of use, take the device to a household waste recycling point or a retailer drop-off scheme that accepts small electricals. Never put a device with a lithium battery in your normal bin or your kerbside recycling, because crushed batteries have caused fires in collection vehicles and waste sites.

Coil and mesh technology in the pod

Every prefilled pod contains a coil, and the type of coil shapes the flavour and the way the pod uses its liquid. Pods in the 7K class are built around a mesh coil, which is a thin, flat sheet of resistance metal with a large number of tiny perforations, rather than a round wire wound into a spiral. The exact resistance is not always printed on the pack, so treat any figure you see elsewhere as approximate.

The advantages of mesh over a conventional wire coil come down to surface area:

  • Even heating: a mesh heats across a wide area rather than at a single point, which reduces hot spots and the burnt taste that comes with them.
  • Flavour: a larger heated surface tends to produce a fuller, more rounded flavour, which suits fruit and candy profiles such as blue raspberry.
  • Vapour: more surface area produces more consistent vapour from each puff, particularly in the middle of the pod's life.
  • Wicking: the cotton or other wick sitting against the mesh feeds liquid across a broader area, which helps to avoid dry hits when you take frequent puffs.

The trade-offs are modest. A mesh coil typically uses a little more power than a small wire coil, so it drains the battery marginally faster. It also means that very sweet liquids can leave a film on the mesh over time, which is why the flavour in any pod gradually dulls in the last stretch of its life.

You cannot service or clean the coil in a prefilled pod, and you should not try. It is a sealed part, and the pod is designed to be replaced as a whole. What you can do is look after it by following good puffing habits:

  • Take moderate draws of two to three seconds with a short rest between puffs.
  • Avoid chain vaping, which does not give the wick time to resaturate.
  • Never fire the device without a filled pod attached.
  • If the pod starts tasting burnt, replace it. A burnt coil does not recover.

Nicotine strength guidance for UK vapers

In the UK, nicotine-containing e-liquids are limited to 20mg/ml, which is the same as 2% nicotine by volume. That cap applies to prefilled pods and to refillable e-liquids alike, and it exists to limit the amount of nicotine delivered in a single puff. A pod sold legally in the UK, including this one, will not exceed that strength, and the strength you are buying is stated on the pack. Always check the strength on the variant you are adding to the basket.

Choosing between strengths is mostly about your current nicotine habit and the way you vape:

  • Smokers switching from cigarettes: a 20mg/ml pod is generally the starting point because it gives a throat hit and nicotine delivery closest to a cigarette. Someone who smokes ten or more a day is unlikely to find lower strengths satisfying at first.
  • Lighter or social smokers: a medium strength, if available, may be enough and will feel gentler on the throat.
  • Experienced vapers stepping down: moving to a lower strength over several weeks is a common way to reduce nicotine intake at your own pace.
  • Non-smokers: vaping is intended for adults who already smoke or use nicotine. If you do not currently use nicotine, you should not start with a nicotine pod.

It is worth knowing that a closed pod system with a mesh coil delivers a smoother puff than an old-style cigalike, so a 20mg/ml pod can feel less harsh than the number suggests. If you find that you are vaping constantly and still craving nicotine, that is a sign the strength may be too low rather than too high. If you feel light-headed, queasy or jittery, you may be at too high a strength, or you may be drawing too often.

The legal age to buy nicotine vaping products in the UK is 18, and age checks apply at checkout and on delivery. Nicotine is addictive. Pregnant women, people with heart conditions and anyone who is unsure should talk to a doctor or pharmacist. NHS Stop Smoking services in your area offer free support, and the NHS Better Health site has guidance on using vapes to quit smoking.

Who the Nexel Aero Blue Sour Raspberry pod suits

No single pod suits everyone, and being clear about who will enjoy this one saves you money. Based on the format, the flavour and the nicotine range, these are the groups it tends to fit best.

It is a good match for:

  • Adult smokers moving to vaping: a closed pod is the simplest entry point, with nothing to fill, adjust or maintain.
  • People who like candy and fruit flavours: Blue Sour Raspberry is sweet, tangy and bright, rather than subtle.
  • Anyone tired of single-use devices: the pod-and-device approach produces less waste and lets you change flavour without buying a whole new handset.
  • Those who value convenience: draw-activated, with no buttons, settings or e-liquid bottles.
  • Vapers who like variety: because the pods click in and out, you can keep two or three flavours and rotate them.

It is probably not the right choice for:

  • Non-smokers and under-18s: nicotine vaping products are for adult smokers only, and it is illegal to sell them to anyone under 18.
  • Fans of tobacco, menthol or dessert profiles: this is a fruity, tangy candy flavour and will not suit those tastes.
  • People who dislike sour flavours: the tang is a defining feature, not a subtle one.
  • Those who want to tune their vape: a closed pod offers little control over airflow, wattage or liquid. Anyone who wants adjustable settings would be better served by a refillable pod kit or a small mod.
  • Very heavy vapers: a 2ml pod will empty quickly if you vape all day, and a refillable system will usually cost less per millilitre.

If you are not sure, the most sensible approach is to treat your first pod as a trial. Use it as your normal vape for a few days, note how long it lasts and how you feel about the flavour, and decide from there whether to stock up.

How to fit and use the pod

Setting up a prefilled pod takes under a minute. Follow these steps and you should have no trouble.

  • 1. Check compatibility: confirm that your device is a Nexel Aero. Pods from other devices will not fit or fire.
  • 2. Prepare the pod: remove the outer packaging and peel away any protective film, sticker or plug from the mouthpiece and the base. Leaving these on blocks the airflow and the liquid path.
  • 3. Click it in: line the pod up with the device and push it in until it sits flush and clicks. Do not twist it or force it at an angle.
  • 4. Let it saturate: wait two to three minutes before the first puff. This gives the wick time to soak up liquid from the reservoir, and it protects the coil from a dry first draw.
  • 5. Take a few gentle primer puffs: draw slowly for the first three or four puffs, without firing for long. This pulls liquid through the wick.
  • 6. Vape as normal: use slow, steady draws of two to three seconds. There is no button, as the device fires when you inhale.

A few habits will help the pod last and keep the flavour tasting right:

  • Keep the device upright when not in use, with the mouthpiece pointing up.
  • Do not draw hard or fast. A gentle pull works better with a mesh coil than a forceful one.
  • Wipe the contacts on the device and the pod with a dry cloth if they get sticky.
  • Replace the pod when the flavour turns flat or burnt, or when the liquid window is nearly empty.

When the pod is finished, pull it straight out and dispose of it properly. A used pod contains a small amount of residual nicotine and a heated metal coil, so it should not go in with ordinary rubbish if a better option is available.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most problems with pod devices are minor and have a simple fix. Work through these before deciding that something is faulty.

  • The device does not fire: remove the pod and reseat it firmly. Check that the protective film has been removed from the base and that the contacts are clean. Make sure the battery has charge, and charge it for ten minutes if in doubt.
  • The light flashes and nothing happens: this usually signals a low battery or a poor pod connection. Charge the device and try again with the pod seated properly. If the problem continues with a fresh pod, the device may have a fault.
  • The vapour is weak or the flavour is faint: the pod may need longer to saturate, or it may be nearly empty. Leave it for a few minutes and take slow primer puffs. Weak output in the last stretch of the pod is normal.
  • A burnt or harsh taste: this means the wick has dried out. Stop using the pod, as the coil does not recover from burning. Replace it, and next time wait for the wick to saturate and avoid chain vaping.
  • Gurgling or bubbling: some condensation in the airflow channel is normal. Blow gently through the mouthpiece, away from your face, or wipe it clean. Do not do this with the pod attached to a device that is firing.
  • Leaking: check that the pod is correctly seated and was not damaged in transit. Wipe the device clean and store it upright. If a pod leaks continuously, replace it.
  • The pod will not go in: check that you have the right orientation and are not trying to use a pod for a different device.
  • Battery drains quickly: a worn battery or a faulty charger can reduce capacity. Try another cable and charger and check for damage.

If you have tried all of these and the problem remains, contact us with your order number, a short description and, if you can, a photo. We will help you work out whether it is a pod fault, a device fault or something that can be fixed by changing how you use it.

Value for money and how it compares with other pods

Value in vaping is not just the sticker price. It is the cost per day of use, set against how much you enjoy the flavour and how reliable the product is. A prefilled pod costs more per millilitre than a bottle of e-liquid used in a refillable device, and that is the price of the convenience. What you are paying for is not having to fill, prime or maintain anything.

A fair way to calculate value is to track how many days your first pod lasts. If one pod lasts you a week, divide the price by seven and compare the result with what you currently spend on cigarettes or on single-use vapes. For most adult smokers who switch fully, the daily cost of vaping is substantially lower than the cost of smoking. Because the device is reusable, you only pay for the pod once the device itself has been bought, which makes the running cost lower than that of single-use handsets.

Here is how the Nexel Aero pod compares with other routes, so you can judge where it fits:

  • Versus refillable pod kits: a refillable kit is cheaper per millilitre and lets you pick from a huge range of e-liquids, but needs filling, coil changes and a little learning. The Aero pod is easier and tidier.
  • Versus other prefilled pod systems: brands such as Elf Bar, Lost Mary, Elux and Geek Bar have all moved into reusable, pod-style formats. The core experience is similar across them: mesh coil, draw activation, sweet and fruity flavours. The differences are in the flavour tuning, the battery size and the price. Blue Sour Raspberry is a well-trodden flavour category, so try it against your usual favourite to see which you prefer.
  • Versus the old single-use devices: a pod system offers a similar ease of use, with less waste and the freedom to change flavour without replacing the battery.
  • Versus tobacco cigarettes: vaping is not risk-free, but UK public health bodies consider it far less harmful than smoking for adults who switch completely.

Our honest view is that this pod is a solid option rather than a stand-out. It does what a closed mesh-coil pod should do, with a flavour that has a clear identity. If you already own an Aero device, a few spare pods are a sensible purchase. If you do not, compare the starter kit price with other brands before committing to the Nexel ecosystem.

Storage, safety and recycling in the UK

Looking after your pods and your device properly keeps them working and keeps your household safe. These points apply to any pod vape, and they are especially worth following if you have children or pets at home.

Storage

  • Store pods upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. A hot car is the worst place for them.
  • Keep spare pods in their original packaging or a protective case so that the contacts and the mouthpiece stay clean.
  • Avoid extreme cold, which thickens the liquid and makes the pod slower to saturate.
  • Keep everything out of reach of children and pets. Nicotine is toxic if swallowed, and a pod contains enough to harm a small child.

Safety

  • Only use the charger and cable supplied with your device, or a good-quality USB-C equivalent.
  • Do not leave the device charging unattended for long periods or overnight.
  • Do not use a device that is damaged, swollen, unusually hot or smells of burning.
  • Do not carry loose lithium devices in a pocket with coins or keys.
  • Never take apart a pod or a device.

Recycling and disposal

Used pods and old devices should not go in the ordinary household bin or the kerbside recycling. Any device with a battery counts as waste electrical equipment, and under UK regulations, retailers that sell vaping products are expected to offer take-back or point you to a local scheme. In practice, you can drop used pods and spent devices at a household waste recycling centre or at a drop-off point run by a participating retailer. Many councils and supermarkets provide small electrical collection bins for this purpose.

Before recycling a device, remove the pod, and keep the pod separate if the collection point asks you to. Used pods can be disposed of through the same schemes. If you are not sure where your nearest point is, your local council's website will list it, and the national Recycle Your Electricals site has a postcode search.

Looking after the planet is part of what makes pods a better choice than single-use vapes, but only if you return them properly. Keep a small bag at home for used pods and take it with you the next time you visit the recycling centre.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Zero-mess flavour change — snap in, done
  • Consistent draw from a factory-primed coil
  • Long shelf-life, easy to travel with

Cons

  • Costs more per ml than freestanding e-liquid
  • Pods are proprietary to a specific device

Frequently asked questions

Which nicotine strength should I choose for the Nexel Aero 7K Blue Sour Raspberry pod?

UK law caps nicotine at 20mg/ml, and the strength is shown on the pack and on the variant you select. Smokers switching from around ten cigarettes a day usually start at 20mg/ml, while lighter users and people stepping down may prefer a lower strength if one is offered. If you do not smoke or use nicotine already, you should not start with a nicotine pod.

How do I charge the Nexel Aero device, and how long does it take?

The battery is in the device, not in the pod, and it charges through a USB-C port. A full charge typically takes under an hour to around ninety minutes on a standard 5V charger. Charge it on a hard, non-flammable surface and avoid leaving it plugged in overnight.

Can I use these pods in any Nexel device, or with other brands?

No. These pods are made for the Nexel Aero device and are not interchangeable with other Nexel models or other brands. Check that you own the Aero before ordering, as pods that do not match the device will not fit or fire.

What other flavours are available for the Nexel Aero?

Nexel makes pods in a range of fruit, candy and ice flavours for the Aero. Because the pods click in and out, you can keep two or three flavours and swap between them without buying a new device. Browse the Nexel section of our site to see what is currently in stock.

How long does one 7K pod last?

The 7K figure is a manufacturer puff-count rating based on short, moderate draws. In real use a pod lasts anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on how often and how hard you draw. The best way to find out is to time your first pod and use that to plan your orders.

Is the Aero pod good value for money?

A prefilled pod costs more per millilitre than bottled e-liquid in a refillable device, and the premium pays for convenience. Compared with smoking, the daily cost is usually much lower, and compared with single-use vapes, a reusable device cuts waste and running costs. Heavy vapers who want the lowest cost may prefer a refillable kit.

Who should not buy this pod?

It is not for under-18s, non-smokers or anyone who is pregnant or has a heart condition without medical advice. It is also a poor fit for people who dislike sour or candy flavours, and for anyone who wants adjustable power and airflow. If you are unsure, speak to a doctor, a pharmacist or your local NHS stop smoking service.

Do you deliver to the whole of the UK, and how fast?

We deliver to addresses across the UK, with tracked options at checkout and an age check on ordering and on delivery. Orders placed before the daily cut-off are normally dispatched the same working day, and the delivery estimate is shown in your basket before you pay.

What if the pod arrives faulty or leaks?

Contact us with your order number and a photo and we will arrange a replacement or refund for a pod or device that arrives damaged or faulty. Please keep the packaging, and do not use a pod that is leaking or has a burnt taste. This does not affect your statutory rights as a customer.
