Oxva TasteFlex SL 12K Lemon and Lime, explained

Oxva TasteFlex SL 12K Prefilled Pods in Lemon and Lime are replacement pods for the TasteFlex SL pod system, sold at £5.95 each and listed at 12,000 puffs. The e-liquid is already sealed inside. You do not open a bottle, tip anything into anything or measure a single drop. The spent pod comes out, the new one goes in, and the job is finished before the kettle has boiled.

The pod belongs to a twelve-flavour range from Oxva, a brand best known for its pod hardware rather than throwaway sticks. Alongside this citrus option the line includes Blue Razz Cherry, Blueberry Sour Raspberry, Classic Cola, Fresh Mint, Fizzy Cherry, Pink Lemonade, Sour Pineapple Ice, Strawberry Blueberry Cherry, Watermelon Ice, Watermelon Strawberry and White Grape Ice. There is also a TasteFlex SL starter kit at £9.95, which is the device these pods are made to sit in.

Three facts on the listing are solid. The nicotine is a 20mg salt, the rated life is 12,000 puffs, and the shop runs a 3 for £15 multibuy on the pod. Anything on this page that sounds like a specification is either one of those facts, arithmetic worked out from them, or a plain explanation of how the pod format behaves in general. We have left out battery sizes, liquid volumes and coil resistances because the listing does not state them, and we would rather say so than guess.

In the wider catalogue this is one of the prefilled vape pods we stock: a product you buy again and again once the hardware is in your pocket. The sections below cover how it works, what Lemon and Lime is likely to taste like, who it suits, how to fit it, how long it lasts, and how to buy it sensibly. It is written for adults who already use, or are weighing up, a pod device. Nicotine is addictive, and this product is for over 18s only.

How a closed pod delivers lemon and lime

Underneath the flavour name, a pod is a very simple machine. A small chamber holds the e-liquid. A wick draws that liquid towards a heating element. When you pull on the mouthpiece, the device sends power to the element, the liquid warms into vapour, and air carries it through to your mouth. None of that changes between a lemon and lime pod and a cola one. What changes is the liquid inside.

The TasteFlex SL is what people usually call a closed pod system. Closed means the pod arrives filled and sealed, and the part you handle is the whole cartridge rather than a tank you top up. The appeal is convenience: no bottles in your pocket, no sticky fingers, no decisions about coils or cotton. Anyone curious about the hardware side can browse our closed pod vape kits, which gathers devices built around exactly this idea.

It helps to be clear about which part does what. The pod is the consumable. It holds the liquid and, in most designs of this type, the heating element too, which is why a pod loses performance as it empties and then gets replaced rather than repaired. The device is the durable part. It carries the battery and the electronics that decide when the element heats. Your pod simply has to be the right shape for your device, which is why the TasteFlex SL name sits in the product title.

The title also uses the word refill. On this listing that describes the item as the replacement for the kit, not as something that arrives with a device. We do not give instructions for opening or topping up a sealed pod. The manufacturer's guidance is the only reliable source on whether that is intended, and improvising can spoil the flavour or cause leaks.

One more point for newcomers. Activation differs between devices. Some fire as soon as you draw, others wait for a button press, and a few offer both. The guide inside the kit tells you which applies to yours, so keep it somewhere sensible rather than binning it with the packaging.

What Lemon and Lime tastes like in a vape

Citrus flavours are easy to describe and surprisingly hard to get right, so it is worth setting expectations honestly. Lemon and Lime, by name, points to two sharp fruits blended together: lemon for the bright, slightly sour front, and lime for a greener, more peppery edge that lingers behind it. Together they usually read as a clean, tart citrus rather than a dessert or a sweet.

What the listing does not tell us is how the maker has balanced that blend. Some lemon and lime e-liquids lean soft and sweet, closer to a lemonade. Others go tart and zesty, closer to the peel. We have not published tasting scores for this pod and we will not pretend to hold a precise map of it. If you want a firm answer before committing, buy a single pod first and save the multibuy for round two.

The name does not include the word Ice, so a menthol-style cooling finish should not be your expectation. If you want citrus with a chill, look at neighbours in the same line such as Sour Pineapple Ice, Watermelon Ice or White Grape Ice. If you would rather stay with lemon, Pink Lemonade sits in the range too, and Fresh Mint is there for a clean, plain alternative. Each of those has its own page on the site.

Draw style shapes flavour more than people expect. A slow, even pull keeps the element at a steady temperature, and citrus notes tend to stay crisp. A hard, hot draw can flatten the bright top notes and push the taste towards bitterness, which is a particular risk with sharp fruit. Pausing between puffs lets the wick catch up and keeps the lemon from turning scorched.

Many adults like citrus because it feels light across a long day and does not coat the palate the way creamy or bakery flavours can. That is a matter of taste, not a promise, and the only real test is your own mouth. Give the pod a few days of normal use before deciding whether it earns a place in your routine.

Who this pod suits, and who should skip it

Start with the hardware, because it settles most of the question. This pod is for people who already own, or are about to buy, a TasteFlex SL device. If that is you, it is the natural refill for anyone who enjoys a sharp, fruity flavour and wants a pod that is simple to swap. If you do not own the device, a pod on its own does nothing.

It suits these buyers well:

  • An adult who already uses nicotine and prefers a tart fruit flavour to a sweet or creamy one.
  • A former smoker who wants a fresh-tasting flavour that is a long way from tobacco.
  • Someone who likes the tidy, sealed-pod routine and is happy to buy replacements in multiples.
  • A buyer who keeps a couple of spare pods in a drawer so a spent one never catches them out.

And these buyers should look elsewhere:

  • Anyone under 18, and anyone who has never used nicotine. The pod contains nicotine and is not for you.
  • Anyone who needs a strength below 20mg, because this pod is not listed in one.
  • Anyone who wants a menthol-style cool finish. Check the Ice flavours in the same line instead.
  • Anyone who enjoys tinkering with coils and liquids. A sealed pod will feel restrictive.

There is a middle case worth naming. Some adults would rather not own a device at all and prefer to pick something up, use it and bin it. That is what disposable vapes are for, and they remain popular. The trade-off is that you throw away the battery and the casing each time. A pod system keeps the hardware and replaces only the part that wears out, so over a few months both the arithmetic and the waste tend to look different. Which suits you depends on how often you vape and how you feel about carrying a device.

Price, puffs and strength: the figures on the listing

Here is everything the listing actually states, set out plainly so you can check it against what you want.

  • Product: Oxva TasteFlex SL 12K Prefilled Pods, Lemon and Lime
  • Type: prefilled replacement pod for the TasteFlex SL system
  • Price: £5.95 per pod
  • Rated life: 12,000 puffs
  • Nicotine: 20mg, nicotine salt
  • Multibuy: 3 for £15
  • Matching device: TasteFlex SL 12K Prefilled Pod Kit at £9.95

From those figures we can work out a few more, and we label them as arithmetic rather than measurement. At £5.95 for 12,000 puffs, each thousand puffs costs about 50p on paper. On the 3 for £15 offer a pod works out at £5.00, so each thousand drops to roughly 42p. Real life will not match that to the puff, but it gives you a fair basis for comparing pods with other formats.

A word on the puff rating itself. A puff count is a figure produced under the maker's own testing conditions, usually with a standard draw length and rhythm. It is a guide to relative size, not a guarantee. Someone taking long, frequent draws will get fewer puffs from a pod than someone taking short, spaced ones. We use 12,000 throughout this page as the rating on the listing, not as a promise about the pod in your hand.

It is just as important to say what we have not listed. We do not state the battery size of the device, the liquid volume in the pod, the coil resistance or the charging time, because the product data does not include them. Where a UK rule applies to a whole category of product, such as the 20mg ceiling on nicotine strength for refill products, we say that it is a category rule and not a feature of this pod. Treat the manufacturer's packaging and guide as the final word on anything technical.

Fitting the pod and taking your first puffs

Have the guide from your kit nearby before you start, because small details differ between devices and the guide wins any argument with us. The routine below is the general shape of swapping a sealed pod.

  • Confirm the match. The pod is for adults and for the TasteFlex SL only. Check the box names the flavour you ordered.
  • Prepare the new pod. Take it out of its packaging and remove any seal, film or cap that is designed to come off. Do not pull at parts that are meant to stay.
  • Remove the old pod. Hold the device upright, lift out the spent pod and wipe any residue from the mouthpiece and contacts with a dry cloth.
  • Seat the new one. Line it up and press it home until it feels firmly in place. If it resists, stop and recheck rather than forcing it.
  • Rest the device. Leave it upright for a few minutes so the wick can take up liquid.
  • Start gently. Take a few short, soft puffs, then settle into your usual rhythm.

The rest step is the one people skip and then regret. A fresh pod hit hard straight away can taste thin or faintly scorched, because the wick has not yet filled. That is most of what people mean when they say a new pod tastes odd. With citrus it matters even more, since a sharp flavour that has been scorched turns bitter very quickly.

Once you are underway, keep your draws slow, around a couple of seconds, with a pause between them. Rapid chain puffing heats the element faster than the wick can resupply it, which shortens the life of the pod and dulls the flavour. Spent pods still contain a heating element and traces of nicotine liquid, so keep them away from children and pets until you can dispose of them properly. Check your local council's guidance on vape waste, and never put a device or its battery in household rubbish.

What 12,000 puffs means in everyday use

Twelve thousand puffs sounds enormous until you set it against an ordinary day. The simplest way to picture it is to divide by how much you vape. These figures are arithmetic on the listed rating, not promises.

  • At around 150 puffs a day, 12,000 puffs lasts about 80 days.
  • At around 300 puffs a day, it lasts about 40 days.
  • At around 500 puffs a day, it lasts about 24 days.

Turn that into money and the picture gets clearer. At £5.95, a pod used over 40 days costs roughly 15p a day. Over 24 days it is closer to 25p a day. On the 3 for £15 offer, where each pod works out at £5.00, those drop to about 12.5p and 21p respectively. That is the running cost of the pod, before you count the one-off purchase of the device.

Now the caveats. Most people have no idea how many puffs they take in a day, and counting is not realistic. A better habit is to fit your first pod, note the date, and note the date you change it. Do that once and you have a personal figure that beats any rating on a label. Long draws, frequent draws and heat all shorten a pod. Short, spaced draws stretch it.

It is also useful to know how the rating sits in the wider market. Our 10000 puff vapes range sits just below it, and gives you a yardstick for what a number like this means when it is printed on a disposable. The key difference is what you keep. With a pod system the device stays and you replace only the pod. With a disposable, the battery and casing go in the bin along with the liquid. Neither is wrong, but the running cost per puff usually favours the pod once you own the hardware.

Flavour fatigue is the other limit on how long a pod feels like good value. Citrus tends to hold up well over a week, but if you find yourself craving something different, a pod of another flavour from the same line costs the same and fits the same device.

Choosing a nicotine strength you can live with

There is only one strength on this pod, which is worth knowing before you buy. The listing shows 20mg, and it is a nicotine salt. That is the top of the range available in the UK for this type of product, because a legal ceiling of 20mg applies across refill products generally. In other words, it is a category limit, and it explains why firm-hitting sealed pods so often sit at exactly this figure.

Nicotine salt is a form of nicotine that tends to feel smoother on the throat at higher strengths than the older freebase type, which is why it dominates sealed pods. The sensation is a quick, noticeable hit rather than a harsh one. That suits adults who previously smoked and want something that registers properly. It will feel strong to anyone used to lower strengths, and it is not a sensible choice for a person who has never used nicotine.

A few practical points. Nicotine is addictive, and 20mg is not a gentle introduction. If you find the pod stronger than you want, the answer is to move to a different product at a lower strength, not to alter a sealed pod. For refillable devices, our nicotine salt e-liquids come in a spread of strengths, and anyone who wants no nicotine at all can browse nicotine-free e-liquids instead. Neither fits this sealed pod, but both are there if you decide a different setup suits you better.

Pacing matters too. With a high-strength salt, many people find that a few puffs satisfy them for a while, and that continuous puffing through the day is unnecessary. That is a reason to pay attention to your own use, not a recommendation to vape more or less. If the flavour fades late in a pod's life, treat that as a signal to change it rather than pushing through.

Keep pods and devices out of reach of children and pets. Spilled or swallowed nicotine liquid is dangerous.

Battery, charging and keeping spare pods in order

A pod has no battery of its own, so the charging question belongs to the device. The TasteFlex SL powers the pod from its own cell, and a flat device is the most common reason a perfectly good pod seems to have stopped working. If vapour thins out or disappears, charge before you do anything drastic.

We do not quote a battery size or a charging time for the device, because the listing does not give them. Your kit guide does. The habits below apply to almost any rechargeable device and are worth following anyway.

  • Use the supplied cable and a sensible, regulated USB power source rather than a mystery charger.
  • Do not charge unattended or under a pillow, and unplug once the device is full.
  • Keep it dry, and clear of coins and keys in a pocket.
  • Stop using any device that swells, overheats or smells of burning.

Now the pods themselves. A spare pod is a small sealed container of liquid, and it prefers an uneventful life. Store it upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and radiators. A glovebox in summer is a poor choice, since heat thins the liquid and encourages leaks. Keep pods in their packaging until you need them so the mouthpiece stays clean.

Rotate your stock if you buy in threes. Use the oldest pod first and check any date printed on the packaging. A sealed pod keeps far better than an opened tank, but it is not designed to sit in a drawer for years.

When travelling, put the device and spare pods in a bag where nothing presses on the mouthpieces, and keep them upright where you can. Pressure changes on a plane can push liquid around. A pod fitted in the device and carried in a warm pocket is the likeliest to leak, while a spare in its packaging is the least likely. A little care here saves a surprising amount of mess.

Honest pros and cons of the Lemon and Lime pod

No product suits everyone, so here is the balance sheet in plain terms. Start with what this pod does well.

  • It is sealed and tidy, with nothing to pour, measure or wipe up.
  • The 12,000 puff rating on the listing is large for the money, at £5.95 per pod or £5.00 on the multibuy.
  • The citrus flavour suits people who find sweet or creamy flavours heavy.
  • Twelve flavours share one line, so changing flavour never means changing device.
  • The routine is short: swap, wait, vape.

Now the drawbacks, which deserve the same attention.

  • It fits the TasteFlex SL only, so it is no use without that device.
  • It comes in one strength, 20mg, with no lower option on this pod.
  • The listing gives no tasting notes, so the flavour balance is a judgement you make for yourself.
  • Puff counts are ratings, and real use can fall short of them.
  • Once a pod is fitted you cannot change flavour without swapping the whole pod.
  • Spent pods are waste that needs sensible disposal.

Weighing those up, the pod makes the most sense for an adult who already owns a TasteFlex SL, already uses nicotine at a firm strength, and wants a clean, tart fruit flavour with minimal fuss. It makes the least sense for a newcomer, for anyone wanting a lighter strength, or for anyone who likes to customise their setup.

If you are not sure, the lowest-risk move is to buy one pod, fit it properly, give it a few days, and then decide whether to buy more. The flavour either works for you or it does not, and a single £5.95 pod is a cheap way to find out. Nobody should buy a six-pack of any flavour they have never tasted.

Troubleshooting a pod that is not behaving

Before you blame the pod, run the checks in this order. Most problems turn out to be small, and the early items on the list fix the majority.

Little or no vapour. Start with the battery, since a flat device mimics a dead pod. Then confirm the pod is pushed fully home, because one that sits slightly proud can lose contact. Make sure no film or cap remains on the pod and that the airflow openings are clear.

Flat or weak flavour. On a new pod this is usually an unsoaked wick. Rest the device upright for a few minutes and take gentle puffs. On an old pod it can simply mean the end is near, which is your cue to change.

Burnt or harsh taste. Think chain puffing or a nearly empty pod. Slow down, leave longer gaps between draws, and if a freshly fitted pod still tastes scorched after a rest, swap it.

Gurgling or spitting. This is condensation in the airflow path. Remove the pod, wipe the mouthpiece and contacts, refit it, and avoid very long draws for a while.

Leaking. Heat, pressure and knocks are the usual suspects. Keep the device upright and out of warm places, wipe any residue away, and replace a pod that leaks persistently from new.

The device ignores the pod. Check that you bought the pod for the right system. A pod made for another line will not behave properly in a TasteFlex SL.

If you are still stuck, our FAQ page answers the questions we hear most, and our team can look at a specific fault if you contact us. Quote your order number and describe exactly what you see. A photo helps. Whatever the fault, stop using any device that gets hot, swells or smells of burning, and let us know.

Buying in threes: the deal, delivery and age checks

Three pods at the standard £5.95 come to £17.85. The 3 for £15 offer brings the same three down to £15, which saves £2.85 and puts each pod at £5.00. For anyone who expects to get through pods steadily, that is the cheapest way to buy, and since sealed pods store well when kept cool and upright, stocking up carries little downside. More offers are collected on our vape deals page.

One question worth checking is whether the offer lets you mix flavours. The deal is shown on this product, and how it applies across other TasteFlex SL flavours depends on how the basket is set up, so add your items and look at the total before paying. If you expected a discount and it has not appeared, message us before completing the order.

On delivery, orders over £20 get free UK delivery, and orders placed before 4pm are dispatched the same day, subject to stock. One set of three pods at £15 falls short of that threshold, but two sets (six pods, £30) clear it comfortably, and so does a set of three alongside the £9.95 starter kit, which comes to £24.95. Times and charges are set out on our shipping information page.

Because this is a nicotine product, it is sold to adults only. We carry out age verification before orders go out, and the process is explained on our age verification page. Keep your details to hand at checkout, and expect that a courier may ask for proof of age at the door.

We sell genuine stock. If something arrives damaged, wrong or faulty, contact us promptly with your order number and a photo, and we will explain the options that apply. As a rule of thumb, a pod you will use steadily over a few weeks is a good candidate for the multibuy, while a first try of a new flavour is better bought as a single.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Oxva TasteFlex SL 12K Lemon and Lime pod?

It is a sealed, prefilled replacement pod for the Oxva TasteFlex SL system, priced at £5.95. The liquid is a 20mg nicotine salt in a lemon and lime flavour, and the listing rates the pod at 12,000 puffs. You do not pour or measure anything. You take the spent pod out of your device, press this one in and carry on. It is a nicotine product for adults aged 18 and over only.

Is this a disposable vape?

No. It is a replacement pod, so it needs a TasteFlex SL device to work, and the device is the part you keep. A disposable bundles the battery, liquid and casing into one throwaway unit. With a pod system you replace only the pod when it runs out, which usually costs less over time and creates less waste. If you would rather not own a device at all, our disposable range may suit you better.

Which device does this pod fit?

The Oxva TasteFlex SL system, and nothing else. Pods designed for other Oxva lines or other brands will not necessarily seat or work, even when the names look similar, so check your device before ordering. Markings on the body or the original box usually tell you which model you own, and if you are stuck you can send us a photo. The matching starter device is the TasteFlex SL 12K Prefilled Pod Kit, listed at £9.95.

How many puffs will one pod last?

The listing rates it at 12,000 puffs. That is a testing figure, so real life varies with draw length and how often you vape. As simple arithmetic, 12,000 puffs lasts about 40 days at 300 puffs a day. Slow, spaced draws stretch a pod, while long, hot, frequent draws shorten it. The best guide is your own record: note the date you fit a pod and the date you change it.

What nicotine strength is it, and is there a lower one?

This pod is 20mg nicotine salt, and the listing shows no other strength for it. Twenty milligrams is the highest strength allowed in the UK for products of this type, so it gives a firm hit and is not suited to anyone new to nicotine. Nicotine is addictive. If you want less nicotine or none, a different product is the answer, and our nicotine salt and nicotine-free e-liquid ranges for refillable devices offer lower options.

What does Lemon and Lime taste like, and is it cooling?

By name it is a tart citrus blend, with lemon at the front and a greener lime edge behind it. The listing gives no detailed tasting notes, so we do not claim to know exactly how sweet or sharp it is. It is not an Ice flavour, so do not expect a menthol chill. If you want cooling, Sour Pineapple Ice, Watermelon Ice and White Grape Ice are in the same line, and Pink Lemonade is the other lemon-led choice.

How does the 3 for £15 offer work, and can I mix flavours?

Three pods at £5.95 would cost £17.85, and the offer brings them to £15, which saves £2.85 and works out at £5.00 a pod. The deal is shown on this product page. Whether it applies across different TasteFlex SL flavours depends on how the basket is set up, so add your pods and check the total before you pay. If an expected discount does not appear, contact us before completing the order.

My new pod tastes weak or burnt. What should I do?

Almost always the wick has not finished soaking. Stand the device upright for around five minutes, then take a few short, soft puffs with a pause between each. Chain puffing and long, hard pulls are the usual cause of a scorched taste. Also check that the pod is pushed fully home, that no protective film or cap is left on it, and that the device battery has charge. If a fresh pod still tastes burnt after resting, send us your order number and we will help.

How should I store spare pods?

Keep them in their packaging, upright, somewhere cool, dry and out of direct sunlight. Avoid hot cars, windowsills and radiators, because heat thins the liquid and can cause leaks. If you buy in threes, use the oldest pod first and check any date on the packaging. Store everything out of reach of children and pets, and dispose of spent pods according to your local council guidance on vape waste.

How fast is delivery, and do I need to be 18?

Delivery within the UK is free once your order passes £20, and anything placed before 4pm leaves us the same day when stock allows. You must be 18 or over to buy, and we check age before dispatch, so have your details ready at checkout. The courier can ask for proof of age at the door too. Full timings and charges sit on the shipping page, and the age verification page walks through the process.
