PixlThe Purple Edition Pixl Duo Prefilled Pods by Pixl in Purple Edition at 10mg and 20mg. Free UK delivery over £20, same-day dispatch on weekday orders before 4pm.
Pixl Duo Prefilled Pods Purple Edition are sealed, factory-filled replacement pods for a compatible Pixl pod device. The e-liquid is already inside the pod, the coil is already built into it, and the whole unit clicks into the device body. There is nothing to pour, nothing to measure and no coil to change. When a pod runs dry you take it out, dispose of it properly and fit the next one.
The name carries two clues about how the range is organised. Duo points to a paired format, a pack that groups pods together rather than a single pod sold alone, so check the listing for the exact number of pods in the pack before you compare prices with anything else. Purple Edition is a flavour theme: purple-coloured, dark-fruit profiles collected under one banner. Where a pack contains more than one flavour, the edition name tells you the family and the pack artwork tells you the exact line-up.
The most important thing to understand before buying is that this is a refill, not a device. There is no battery in the pod. If you do not already own a compatible Pixl device, a pod on its own will do nothing. Pod fittings are not universal across brands, and sometimes not across generations of the same brand, so match the pod to your device using the compatibility information on the product page rather than assuming that any pod will fit.
This guide is written for UK adults who already smoke or vape and want an easy, low-maintenance way to carry on with a fruit flavour they like. It walks through the key specifications, the flavour profile, real-world puff delivery, build quality, the battery your device needs, the coil, nicotine strength, who the pods suit, how to use and dispose of them, what to do when something goes wrong, and whether the cost makes sense next to the alternatives. We have kept the claims measured. Puff ratings and battery figures printed on vape packaging are estimates, and we would rather explain what they mean than repeat them as promises.
These products contain nicotine, which is addictive. They are for adults aged 18 and over, and they are intended for people who smoke or already vape. If you have never used nicotine, this is not a product to start with.
Here is a quick reference for what can be said reliably about this type of product. Where a figure depends on the exact pack you choose, we say so instead of guessing.
A few of these lines deserve explanation. The 2ml figure is the one that surprises people who are used to large disposable vapes. Under UK law a refillable tank or a pod holding nicotine liquid cannot exceed 2ml, so a prefilled pod from a UK-market range can never hold the 10ml to 18ml that some older oversized disposables claimed. What changes between brands is how the pod is built, how efficiently the coil uses the liquid and how the device is powered, not the legal ceiling on volume.
The same logic applies to nicotine. The maximum allowed strength for e-liquid sold in the UK is 20mg/ml, which is 2 per cent. That cap applies whether the liquid is in a pod, a bottle or a disposable. Anything on the market claiming a higher figure is not a legitimate UK product.
Finally, notice what is missing from the list: a promised puff count. We cover that in the performance section, because the honest answer is more useful than a single headline number.
Purple is a colour code more than a single flavour. In vape naming it almost always signals a dark-fruit direction: grape, blackcurrant, blueberry, blackberry, acai or a mixed berry blend, often finished with a cooling edge or a sweet candy-style top note. The exact flavours inside the Purple Edition are listed on the product page and printed on the pack, and those are the authority. What we can do here is describe the profile family so you know what to expect before you buy.
Dark-fruit base. The core of a purple profile is a rounded, slightly jammy sweetness rather than the sharp acidity of citrus or the light, watery character of melon. Grape and blackcurrant lean towards deep and a little tart, blueberry towards soft and mellow, and berry blends towards a layered, juice-bar style sweetness. If you have ever enjoyed a squash, a fruit gummy or a berry soda, the territory will feel familiar.
Inhale and exhale. On the draw you normally get the sweet fruit body first. On the exhale the dark-fruit aftertaste tends to linger a little longer than lighter flavours do, which is one reason many people find purple flavours satisfying at a lower number of puffs. If a flavour in the pack includes an ice or menthol element, it shows up as coolness at the back of the throat and on the exhale rather than as the first taste.
Sweetness level. Dark-fruit pods run sweet. If you usually prefer tobacco, a clean mint or a dry fruit like green apple, a purple profile can feel heavy after an hour of steady use. If you like cordial, candy and juice flavours, it will probably feel like the right fit.
Consistency through the pod. A prefilled pod is usually steady from the first puff to the last, but two things can change the taste near the end. A coil that is running low on liquid gives a toasted or slightly burnt note, and a coil that has been chain-vaped without rest can dull the flavour for a few minutes. Both are signs to slow down, not signs of a faulty pod.
Getting the most from the flavour. Take slow, even draws of two to three seconds rather than short sharp pulls. Fruit flavours reveal their layers when the coil is not being pushed hard, and slower draws also use less liquid per puff. If you are tasting a new flavour for the first time, give it a full day before judging it, because your palate takes a little while to adjust, especially if you are coming from tobacco.
Swapping flavours. Because the pod is the flavour, switching is as simple as changing pods. Many users keep two flavours on hand, one sweet and one cooler, and alternate to avoid flavour fatigue, which is the dulling effect that comes from tasting the same profile all day.
Performance with a closed pod comes down to three things: how much liquid is in the pod, how efficiently the coil turns it into vapour, and how the device delivers power. Because the pod volume is limited to 2ml or less, the realistic number of puffs from one pod is bounded by physics as much as by marketing.
A rough estimate helps. A typical draw on a mouth-to-lung pod device uses somewhere between 0.003 and 0.008ml of liquid, depending on draw length, device power and how warm the coil is. Spread across a full 2ml pod, that works out to roughly 250 to 650 puffs. That is an estimate rather than a measurement, and your own result will land wherever your technique puts it, but it is a far more realistic planning figure than the multi-thousand puff numbers that appear on some packaging.
Reading a rated puff figure. If the pack or listing shows a rated number, treat it as a ceiling taken from machine draws, not a promise. Machine puffs are short and uniform, and they use less liquid than a human draw. Real use is longer and more varied. Use any printed figure to compare like with like between products from the same brand, not as a forecast of how many days a pod will last.
How long a pod lasts in days. A light user taking 100 to 150 puffs a day can expect a pod to last a few days. A moderate user at 200 to 300 puffs a day is more likely to get one to three days. A heavy user replacing a pack-a-day smoking habit may use a pod a day or slightly less. A Duo pack, with more than one pod, stretches those figures accordingly.
Draw feel. Pod systems of this type deliver a tight to medium mouth-to-lung draw, which is closer to the feel of a cigarette than the loose, airy draw of a large disposable or a sub-ohm tank. You should feel a little resistance on the inhale. If the draw feels completely open, check that the pod is seated correctly.
Throat hit and nicotine delivery. Throat hit comes from the nicotine strength and the liquid base, not from vapour volume. A 20mg/ml pod gives a firmer hit than a 10mg/ml pod and a quicker route to feeling satisfied. A lower strength will feel smoother but may need more frequent puffs to settle a craving. The nicotine section below has guidance on choosing.
Vapour production. Expect moderate vapour: enough to carry the flavour and look like proper vaping, but not the large clouds associated with sub-ohm hardware. For most people moving off cigarettes this is the right level, and it is considerably more discreet in public spaces.
Consistency. The main variable over the life of a pod is the battery level in the device. A low battery can reduce coil temperature, which makes vapour thinner and flavour flatter. If the last third of a pod tastes weaker than the first, charge the device before blaming the pod.
A prefilled pod is a small, simple object, and build quality shows in a few specific places rather than in any single feature.
The shell. Pods in this category are moulded from clear or tinted plastic that lets you see the liquid level, which is useful because it tells you when you are approaching the end of a pod. Purple Edition styling follows the theme colour, so flavours are easy to tell apart in a bag or pocket. On a new pod, look for clean seams around the mouthpiece and no sign of liquid residue on the outside.
The connection. The base of the pod has contacts that make electrical connection with the device, plus airflow openings. A properly seated pod gives a gentle click or a firm push-fit. Fit matters more than anything else on this list: a pod that sits slightly proud of the device may misfire or leak. If you have to force a pod in, stop and check that you have the right pod for your device.
The mouthpiece. A moulded mouthpiece with a modest taper is standard. Comfort is mostly personal preference, but look for a smooth lip and no sharp edges. If the pod ships with a protective cap or seal on the mouthpiece or air inlet, remove it before use and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
Leak resistance. Closed pods are sealed at the factory, and most never leak. The usual exceptions are pods stored on their side in a hot pocket or car, and pods that have been dropped. Store pods upright, away from heat, in a cool dry place.
Size and weight. A pod device is pocketable by design. Pods add little weight, and a spare takes up less room in a bag than a lighter. A multi-pod Duo pack is easy to carry for a working day.
Environmental design. A prefilled pod is a consumable component, not a rechargeable device, which makes the way you get rid of it matter. The plastic shell, the heating element and the residual liquid all need handling as vape waste rather than ordinary household rubbish. We cover disposal in the how-to section.
What to check on arrival. Check the outer packaging is intact, confirm the pods match the flavour and strength you ordered, and look for cracks in the shell. If anything looks wrong, do not use the pod. Contact us with your order number and a photo.
The pod has no battery, so everything in this section is about the device you click it into. It matters because the device decides how well the pod performs.
Typical capacity. Rechargeable pod devices commonly use batteries from a few hundred milliamp hours up to around 1000mAh. The exact figure for your Pixl device is in its manual or on its listing. As a guide, a battery in the 400 to 700mAh range generally gives a light to moderate user a full day and may need a top-up for a heavier user, while a larger battery stretches that to a day and a half or more.
Charging. Most current pod devices charge by USB-C, the same cable used by most phones and tablets. Charge times for small batteries usually fall somewhere between 30 and 90 minutes. Use a standard 5V phone-style charger or a computer port rather than a high-output laptop charger, and avoid cheap unbranded cables.
Do not vape while charging unless the device is explicitly designed for it. Using a small battery while it charges is a common route to overheating.
Safe charging habits. Charge on a hard, non-flammable surface, away from curtains and bedding. Do not leave a device charging overnight unattended. A small battery charges fast and gains nothing from being left connected. Disconnect when the indicator shows full. Never use a swollen, dented or hot device, and never charge one that has been wet.
Battery level and pod performance. Many devices reduce output as the battery drops, which can thin out vapour and flavour. Top up at around 20 per cent rather than running flat. Lithium-ion cells last longer when they are not routinely driven to zero.
Indicator lights. Most devices show battery state through an LED. A flashing light on a puff typically means a low battery or a connection fault. Check your device manual for the exact pattern, because it varies between models.
Battery life against pod life. A useful rule of thumb is that a day of vaping uses roughly one full charge, while a pod lasts anywhere from one to a few days. You will therefore charge more often than you change pods. That is normal and not a sign of a fault.
End of life. A device that no longer holds a charge for half a day after a year or more of use is nearing replacement. Do not put it in household waste. It contains a lithium-ion cell and belongs in electrical recycling.
The coil turns liquid into vapour, and in a closed pod it is permanently built in. Pods in this category use a mesh coil, which is a thin sheet of perforated metal formed into the heating element and set against the wicking material. Here is why that matters.
Surface area. A traditional round-wire coil heats the liquid along a narrow line. A mesh coil spreads the heat across a much larger surface, so more liquid is vaporised evenly with less hot-spotting. The usual result is a fuller flavour and smoother vapour, with less chance of a burnt note when the pod is used normally.
Faster ramp-up. Mesh heats quickly, so the first puff after a pause tastes much like the tenth. That helps flavour consistency and shortens the delay between draw and vapour.
Wicking. A coil only works if liquid keeps arriving at the heating surface. In a prefilled pod the wicking material and the liquid are matched by the maker. Thicker liquids need more wicking capacity, which is why a closed pod is designed around its own liquid and should never be topped up with something else. It also explains why chain-vaping can cause a dry-tasting hit: the wick cannot re-saturate fast enough.
Resistance. Coils are described by resistance in ohms. Mouth-to-lung pod coils usually sit around 0.8 to 1.2 ohms, which suits the tighter draw and moderate power of a small device. Sub-ohm coils below 0.5 ohms need far more power and belong in larger kits. We have not been given a verified resistance figure for this specific pod, so check the pod or device documentation if you need it.
Coil lifespan. In a sealed pod, the coil is designed to outlast the liquid. The pod is built so that the liquid runs out at about the point where the coil would begin to degrade, and that is the main benefit of a sealed system: you replace the whole assembly together and never have to judge coil wear.
Priming. When you fit a new pod, leave it for a minute or two before the first puff. This lets the wick absorb liquid from the tank. Skipping this step causes dry hits and shortens coil life.
Why not refill a closed pod? It is tempting, but prefilled pods are sealed by design, and a refilled pod can leak, burn the coil or deliver a nicotine dose you did not intend. Buy a new pod instead.
Nicotine strength is the most important choice you will make, because it decides whether the pod does the job it is meant to do: satisfying cravings for an adult who is moving away from cigarettes, without overdoing it. UK law caps e-liquid at 20mg/ml (2 per cent), and the strengths on offer for this product are shown on the listing.
20mg/ml. This is the maximum permitted. It suits people who smoke around ten or more cigarettes a day, who gave up smoking only recently, or who find that lower strengths leave them reaching for a cigarette. It gives a firm throat hit and settles cravings in fewer puffs. If you are new to vaping, it can feel strong, so take slow, gentle puffs at first.
10mg/ml. A middle ground for lighter smokers or people who are tapering. The throat hit is smoother and you may take more puffs to reach the same level of satisfaction. Many people find this strength easier on the throat with sweet fruit flavours, where sweetness and a hard hit together can feel heavy.
Lower strengths. If the listing offers lower options, they suit people who are stepping down. Reducing nicotine in stages while keeping the flavour and the habit is a common route to cutting back.
A simple rule of thumb. Heavy smoker moving off cigarettes: start at the highest strength. Light or social smoker: start in the middle. Never used nicotine: do not start. If you feel dizzy or nauseous, get a racing heart or a headache, stop, put the device down and drink some water. That is a sign the strength is too high or you are puffing too often.
Nicotine salts. Many pod liquids use nicotine salts instead of freebase nicotine. Salts feel smoother at higher strengths, which is why a 20mg/ml salt liquid can seem gentler than a 20mg/ml freebase liquid while still delivering the nicotine. We have not verified which type is used in these pods, so check the pack.
Reducing over time. Many vapers drop a strength every month or two. Moving from 20mg/ml to 10mg/ml and then lower, with the same flavour, lets you cut down without losing the routine.
Disposables and the cap. Disposable vapes were always subject to the same 20mg/ml limit, and the sale of single-use vapes has been banned in England, Scotland and Wales since 1 June 2025. A rechargeable pod system is not a single-use device: the device is reusable and only the pod is consumed.
Health note. Nicotine is addictive. These pods are intended for adult smokers. They are not recommended for people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and anyone with a heart condition or on regular medication should speak to a pharmacist or doctor first.
Pixl Duo Purple Edition pods are built for a fairly specific kind of adult user. If you recognise yourself in the first list, they are worth a look. If you recognise yourself in the second, a different product, or none at all, makes more sense.
A good fit if you:
Probably not for you if you:
Switching from smoking. UK health bodies say vaping is far less harmful than smoking but is not risk free. The biggest gains come from switching completely rather than using pods alongside cigarettes. If you are finding it hard to give up, the NHS stop smoking services offer free support and can combine behavioural help with licensed products such as patches, gum or lozenges.
Dual use. Smoking some days and vaping others tends to keep the cigarette habit alive. If you are using pods, set yourself a date to stop smoking altogether and choose a strength high enough that cigarettes stop feeling necessary.
Buying for someone else. It is an offence to buy nicotine vaping products on behalf of anyone under 18, and we would not recommend buying for another adult who does not already use nicotine.
Using a prefilled pod takes under a minute, but a few habits make a real difference to flavour, leak resistance and pod life.
Storage. Keep pods upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat and freezing conditions. Do not leave them in a hot car. Store them well out of reach of children and pets. Nicotine liquid can be harmful if swallowed or if it gets onto skin or into eyes. If it does, wash the area with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
Travelling. Carry spare pods in a pouch or case so they cannot be crushed or snagged. Do not store loose pods with keys or coins, and keep devices out of checked luggage in the hold if you are flying, as airline rules for lithium batteries vary.
Disposal and recycling. A used pod still contains residual liquid and a heating element, so it should not go in your household bin or kerbside recycling. In Great Britain retailers that sell vaping products are generally required to take back waste vapes, and many household waste recycling centres have a small-electricals or vape bin. The Recycle Your Electricals postcode finder will show your nearest drop-off point. Wrap used pods in a bag or place them in the collection container as directed, and never put a damaged device or battery in any bin without covering the contacts.
Most problems with prefilled pods are quick to fix. Work through the likely cause before assuming a pod is faulty.
When to stop immediately. If a device becomes unusually hot, swells, smells of burning or smokes, stop using it, move it onto a hard non-flammable surface away from anything that could ignite, and do not charge it again. If a pod is faulty from new, keep the packaging and contact us with your order number and photos so we can put it right.
Value is about cost per day of use, not just the sticker price, and pod systems sit in an interesting middle ground between disposables and refillable kits. We do not quote a price here because it changes, so check the current price on the page.
A worked example. Suppose, purely as an illustration, that a two-pod pack costs £10 and each pod lasts about three days for you. That is six days of use for £10, or about £1.67 a day. If you vape heavily and each pod lasts one day, the same pack costs £5 a day. Work out your own pod life over the first week and you will know your true running cost.
Against single-use vapes. The sale of single-use vapes has been banned in England, Scotland and Wales since 1 June 2025, and they were a poor deal for the environment because the battery was thrown away with the liquid. A rechargeable pod device keeps the battery in use for months or years and only the pod is replaced, which is both cheaper over time and less wasteful.
Against refillable pod kits. Refillable kits that take bottles of e-liquid are usually cheaper per millilitre and offer far more flavour choice. They also need more handling: you fill, you clean, you replace coils. If you want the lowest running cost and do not mind the work, a refillable kit wins. If you want to fit a pod and go, prefilled pods win on convenience.
Against other prefilled-pod systems. Large tobacco-company systems such as Vuse ePod are widely stocked in high-street shops and have well-established device support, but flavour variety is typically narrower. Pixl competes on the range of fruit flavours and on pack formats like Duo. If your local shop only stocks one system, that convenience is a fair reason to stay with it, and we would not pretend otherwise.
Against nicotine replacement therapy. Patches, gum, lozenges and inhalators are licensed, regulated and available through the NHS. They are a sensible first option for many people and carry no vaping habit. Vaping appeals to those who miss the hand-to-mouth routine and the sensory side of smoking. Neither route is wrong, and combining stop-smoking support with either gives better odds than going it alone.
What to compare. When you weigh up price, compare the cost per pod, the pod count in the pack, the nicotine strength and how long a pod really lasts for you, rather than any headline puff number.
Our summary. Pixl Duo Purple Edition is a sensible, low-effort option for an adult who already uses nicotine, owns a compatible device and likes dark-fruit flavours. It is not the cheapest way to vape and it is not the most flexible, but it is straightforward, tidy and consistent from pod to pod.

Pixl runs the Duo 12 6K pod format and compact starter kits — aimed at vapers who want a lightweight device with plenty of flavour choice. Bright fruit builds dominate the range.
Choose based on how much you smoked or vaped before. Heavier smokers usually start at the 20mg/ml maximum, while lighter smokers and people who are tapering often prefer 10mg/ml. If you feel dizzy, nauseous or get headaches, the strength is too high for you.
No. These are prefilled replacement pods, so there is no battery in them. You charge the compatible Pixl device they fit into, usually through a USB-C port, and the pod simply clicks in.
Because the flavour is sealed in each pod, switching just means changing pods. The Purple Edition covers a dark-fruit family, and the exact flavours in each pack are shown on the listing and on the pack, so check them before you order if you want a particular one.
A 2ml pod typically gives roughly 250 to 650 puffs depending on how you vape, which is around one to three days for most people. Light users may stretch a pod over several days, and heavy users may finish one in a day.
Over time, yes. Single-use vapes have been banned in England, Scotland and Wales since 1 June 2025, and a rechargeable pod device keeps the battery in use while you replace only the pod. Your real cost depends on pod price, pod count in the pack and how fast you use them.
They suit adult smokers and existing vapers with a compatible Pixl device who like sweet dark-fruit flavours. They are not for anyone under 18, non-smokers, or people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and anyone with a heart condition should ask a doctor first.
We deliver to UK addresses, and current delivery options and timings are shown at checkout. Because these are age-restricted products, you must be 18 or over, and the carrier may ask for proof of age on delivery.
Pods are consumables, so there is no long-term warranty on the pod itself, but faulty or incorrectly supplied items can be returned under your consumer rights. Sealed, unopened goods can be returned within the legal cancellation period, but opened vaping products usually cannot be for hygiene reasons, so contact us with your order number and photos if something is wrong.
Do not put them in your household bin or kerbside recycling. Take them to a retailer or recycling centre vape collection point, and use the Recycle Your Electricals postcode finder to locate your nearest drop-off.
No. Pod fittings are specific to each system, and sometimes to each generation of the same brand. Check the compatibility information on the listing against your device before you order.

Really pleased with the order overall. Everything arrived as expected, well packed, fast dispatch.
Ordered Wednesday evening, arrived Thursday morning. Everything sealed, genuine, exactly what I expected.
Taste is proper — no chemical aftertaste or anything. Just clean flavour throughout. Love it.
Been looking for something like this for ages. Finally found a brand that doesn't disappoint.
Switched from a well-known brand and this is actually better, especially for the price. Will reorder.
Delivery was super fast and the product is genuine. I've had fakes before so this was a relief.
