Pod Salt Core Banana Ice 10ml 20mg: overview and where it fits

Pod Salt Core Banana Ice is a 10ml nicotine salt e-liquid in the 20mg/ml strength, made for refillable pod kits and other low-powered devices. It pairs a soft, ripe banana flavour with a clean menthol-style chill on the exhale. If you are moving away from cigarettes, or you already use a refillable pod system and want a fruit-and-ice flavour that is easy to live with all day, this is the kind of bottle that fits the job.

Because this is an e-liquid rather than a disposable device, the product is the liquid only. You pour it into a compatible pod or tank, and you keep the hardware you already own. That has real consequences for running costs, waste and flavour consistency, and we cover each of those below. It also means the questions that matter are different from a disposable listing: which device do you pair it with, what wattage suits it, and is 20mg the right strength for you.

Key facts at a glance:

  • Product type: nicotine salt e-liquid, sold in a 10ml bottle
  • Strength: 20mg/ml (2%), the highest strength allowed for nicotine e-liquids sold in the UK
  • Flavour: banana with a cooling finish
  • Total nicotine in the bottle: 200mg (10ml x 20mg/ml)
  • Best suited to: refillable pod kits, mouth-to-lung (MTL) and restricted direct-to-lung devices running at low wattage
  • Not suited to: high-wattage sub-ohm tanks, where a 20mg salt is far too strong

Nicotine is addictive. This product is intended for adult smokers and existing vapers only, and it is not for anyone under 18 or for non-smokers. The rest of this page is a plain-spoken guide to what you can expect, how to use it well, and where it sits against other 10ml nic salts on the UK market.

Pod Salt is a name most UK vapers will recognise from pod kits and disposable-style devices. The Core line takes the same brand approach and puts it into a standard 10ml bottle, so that people running their own refillable pods can use it without buying a new device each time the liquid runs out. The bottles are sized to match UK rules, which cap nicotine e-liquid containers at 10ml, so you will not find a larger bottle of a 20mg salt in a legal UK shop.

Nicotine salt is a form of nicotine that is paired with an acid in the liquid. Compared with the freebase nicotine used in older 3mg to 18mg e-liquids, salt nicotine is generally smoother on the throat at higher strengths. That smoothness is the whole reason salts took over the pod market. A 20mg freebase liquid would be harsh and hard to tolerate in most devices. A 20mg salt, by contrast, is designed to feel manageable at low wattage and to deliver nicotine quickly, which is what many people coming off cigarettes are looking for.

Banana Ice sits in the fruit-and-cool corner of the range. Think of it as a sweet, creamy banana note on the inhale with a menthol-style chill that arrives as you breathe out. It is not a heavy dessert flavour and it does not try to taste like a banana milkshake or a cake. It sits closer to a ripe banana sweet with a cooling edge, which is why it tends to suit people who like their fruit flavours light and refreshing instead of thick and sugary.

The liquid uses a balanced propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine base, which is the standard blend for pod-friendly salts. Check the label on your bottle for the exact ratio and the full ingredient list, since batches and packaging can be updated over time.

Flavour profile: ripe banana with a cooling finish

The first thing you notice on the inhale is a soft banana flavour. It leans towards the sweet, slightly candied end of banana rather than a sharp, green or underripe fruit taste, and it carries a gentle creaminess that rounds off the edges. If you have tried banana sweets, banana chews or banana-flavoured milk, the reference point will feel familiar.

The ice component arrives around the same time as the exhale. It is a menthol-style cooling sensation that spreads across the tongue and the back of the throat, without the sharp peppermint bite that heavier menthol liquids bring. Many vapers describe this kind of cooling as clean and short: it appears, refreshes, and fades before the next puff. If you dislike strong menthol, this is on the mild-to-moderate side, but it is still a cooling flavour, so people who avoid anything icy should look at the non-ice banana options instead.

What to expect across a bottle:

  • First few puffs on a fresh coil: the banana tends to be most distinct, with the cooling in the background
  • Mid-tank: flavour settles into a steady balance of fruit and chill
  • Long sessions: some vapers find their palate dulls the banana after a lot of back-to-back puffs, which is normal with any single flavour and is called vaper's tongue

Flavour strength also depends on the device. In a low-wattage MTL pod the banana comes across fuller and sweeter, because the vapour is cooler and denser. Turn the wattage up and the ice note gets sharper while the banana thins out a little. If you find the flavour slightly muted, dropping the power by a watt or two often helps more than raising it.

A practical tip: banana flavourings are known for being sweet and can leave residue on a coil faster than a simple menthol or tobacco liquid would. That does not make the liquid poor quality. It just means you should expect to swap a pod or coil on a regular schedule, and we cover that further down.

Performance and how many puffs to expect

A disposable vape lists puff counts because the liquid and the hardware come as one unit. With a loose 10ml bottle the useful way to think about it is how long the liquid lasts in your own device. The answer depends on your puff length, the wattage and the pod you are using, so treat the figures here as estimates, not guarantees.

As a working guide, most low-power pod kits use a little over a third of a millilitre every hundred puffs when drawn at a typical mouth-to-lung pace of one to two seconds. On that basis a 10ml bottle gives somewhere in the region of 2,000 to 3,000 puffs, which is roughly the amount of liquid found in five 2ml disposable vapes combined. Longer, slower pulls or higher wattage will burn through it faster, and short sips on a restricted device will stretch it further.

Nicotine delivery is the other half of performance. At 20mg/ml, a salt liquid delivers nicotine quickly and with little throat harshness, which is why it is the usual starting point for ex-smokers who still crave a cigarette-like hit. Each puff in a low-wattage pod delivers a small amount, and most users take short, frequent puffs through the day instead of long, heavy ones. If you find yourself chain vaping, that is a signal the strength might be too high for you or that you would be better served by a lower strength.

Things that affect real-world performance:

  • Coil resistance: higher resistance coils (around 1.0 to 1.2 ohm) sip liquid slowly and last longer than lower resistance coils
  • Wattage: staying within the range printed on the coil protects both flavour and liquid life
  • Pod size: small pods mean more frequent refills, though the 10ml bottle stays in your pocket
  • Airflow setting: tighter airflow generally gives more flavour per puff and lower liquid use
  • Ambient temperature: very cold liquid is thicker and can wick slowly, so let a bottle warm in your pocket before filling in winter

A well matched device and a fresh coil will produce consistent vapour and flavour from the first fill to the last. If performance falls off early, the cause is almost always the coil or the pod, not the liquid, and the troubleshooting section below walks through the usual fixes.

Bottle design and build quality

The liquid arrives in a 10ml plastic bottle with a narrow dropper-style tip, which is the format UK rules require for nicotine e-liquids. The tip is sized to fit the fill ports on most refillable pods, and the cap is designed to be child-resistant, so you will need to press and turn or squeeze and twist to open it. That is a legal safety feature, not a defect, and it is worth getting used to using it with dry hands, since a wet cap is slippery.

A few build points worth knowing before you buy:

  • Tamper-evident seal: a ring or seal around the cap shows whether the bottle has been opened. If it is broken on arrival, contact us before using it.
  • Nicotine warning label: UK-required health warnings and ingredients are printed on the bottle. Keep the packaging if you want to check batch details later.
  • Squeezable body: the plastic flexes enough to let you control the flow, though gentle pressure works better than a hard squeeze, which can push out a drop too many.
  • Tip size: the thin spout fits most pod fill holes, but a few kits with very small ports are fiddly. Fill slowly in a good light.

The branding on the bottle follows the Pod Salt look, with the flavour name and strength clearly shown, which helps if you keep several bottles in the house. Always store e-liquid away from children and pets. Nicotine liquid is toxic if swallowed or if it gets on the skin in quantity, so wipe up spills quickly and wash your hands after filling.

Store the bottle upright in a cool, dark place. Heat and direct sunlight can darken the liquid and change its flavour over time. If the liquid turns noticeably darker, that is normal oxidation and is not a safety issue by itself, though the flavour may taste slightly different from a fresh bottle.

Battery and charging: what the device needs

Because Banana Ice is a liquid, it has no battery of its own. The battery that matters is the one in your pod kit or vape pen, and a 20mg salt makes some specific demands on it. Salt nicotine is designed for low-powered hardware, usually running between about 8W and 15W, which is the sweet spot for most small pod devices.

For reference, compact refillable pod kits commonly ship with batteries in the 400mAh to 1,000mAh range, while slightly larger pen-style salt devices go up to 1,500mAh or more. The right size depends on how often you vape and how much you like pocket-friendly gear. As a rough rule, a 600mAh to 1,000mAh device will see most casual users through a day, and a heavier user may want to top up at lunchtime or carry a charger.

Charging basics for any device you pair with this liquid:

  • Use the cable supplied with the device, or a good quality USB lead, and a standard phone-style plug or a computer port
  • Do not leave a device charging unattended overnight if you can avoid it
  • Stop charging when the indicator light says it is full
  • Do not charge a device that is wet, damaged or swollen
  • Never use a charger that heats up unusually or smells odd

A weak battery can affect the way the liquid vapes. If the battery is running low you may notice thinner vapour, weaker flavour, or a slightly burnt taste as the device struggles to heat the coil evenly. If the taste suddenly changes mid-session, check the battery level before blaming the liquid.

When a device reaches the end of its life, do not put it in household bins. Lithium batteries can start fires in refuse trucks and recycling plants. Take old devices and loose batteries to a local drop-off point or to a shop that accepts waste electrical equipment. Many UK retailers and council recycling centres take vapes and batteries for free, and the same goes for empty pods and unused spare coils.

Coil and mesh tech: matching the liquid to your device

The coil is where the liquid becomes vapour, and the type of coil you use has a bigger effect on how this liquid tastes and feels than almost anything else. For a 20mg salt like Banana Ice, the best fit is a coil built for low-wattage mouth-to-lung or restricted direct-to-lung vaping.

The common coil types you are likely to meet are:

  • Standard wire coils: a coil of resistance wire wrapped around cotton. These are cheap, widely available and work well with salts at 10W to 15W. Resistance is usually between 0.8 and 1.2 ohm.
  • Mesh coils: a flat sheet of mesh wire that spreads heat over a larger area. Mesh tends to give a more even flavour, faster ramp-up and a little more vapour, and it handles sweet liquids like banana well. Many modern pod coils are mesh.
  • Ceramic coils: a porous ceramic wick with an embedded heater. They are known for clean flavour and long life, though they can be more sensitive to very sweet or thick liquids.

For this liquid, a 1.0 to 1.2 ohm coil, either standard or mesh, is a sensible starting point. A 0.8 ohm coil will give more vapour and more flavour but uses liquid faster and delivers more nicotine per puff, which at 20mg can be a lot for some people. If you are not sure, begin with the coil recommended by your device manufacturer and adjust from there.

Because Banana Ice is a sweet flavour, coil life is a real consideration. Sugars and flavourings in the liquid caramelise on the coil surface over time, which is why a coil that tasted fresh on day one can turn muted or slightly bitter after a week or two of heavy use. Typical coil life with a sweet 20mg salt is somewhere between one and two weeks for a regular vaper, though your own usage will decide this.

Always prime a new coil. Fill the pod, let it sit for five to ten minutes so the cotton or mesh can fully soak, and take a few gentle draws without pressing the fire button hard. Dry-firing an unprimed coil burns the cotton, ruins the flavour and shortens the life of the coil.

Nicotine strength guidance: is 20mg right for you?

The UK limit for nicotine e-liquids is 20mg/ml, and the same cap applies to the liquid inside any vape sold here, including disposable devices. That makes 20mg the top end of the scale, not a middle setting. Whether it suits you depends on how much you smoked or vaped before and how quickly you want to feel the nicotine.

A simple guide:

  • 20mg (2%): usually the right choice for people who smoke around ten or more cigarettes a day, or who need a strong, fast hit to stay off tobacco. This is the strength used in this product.
  • 10mg to 12mg (1%): suited to lighter smokers, people stepping down from 20mg, or those who found 20mg harsh or dizzying.
  • Lower strengths: for people reducing their nicotine over time, or for users of larger devices that produce more vapour per puff.

It is better to start where you can stay off cigarettes comfortably and then step down gradually than to start too low and drift back to smoking. If you are new to nicotine altogether, do not use a 20mg liquid. Nicotine is addictive, and this product is not intended for people who do not already smoke or vape.

Signs the strength may be too high for you:

  • Dizziness, nausea or a racing heart after a few puffs
  • A harsh, scratchy throat hit despite a salt formula
  • Needing to put the device down after only a couple of puffs

If you notice these, stop, drink some water, and consider moving to a lower strength or a device with tighter airflow and lower power. Signs it may be too low include constant puffing, cravings returning within an hour, or a return to cigarettes. In that case you may need to stay at 20mg for a while. If you have heart conditions, are pregnant, or are on medication, speak to a pharmacist or your GP about your nicotine use. UK stop smoking services can also offer free advice on moving away from tobacco.

Who Pod Salt Core Banana Ice is for

This liquid is a practical choice for a specific group of adult users, and it helps to be honest about who that is and who should look elsewhere.

It tends to suit:

  • Smokers switching to vaping: the 20mg salt strength and the quick nicotine delivery mirror the speed of a cigarette better than low-strength liquids do
  • Disposable users moving to refillables: since single-use vapes were banned from sale in Great Britain in June 2025, many former disposable users have moved to refillable pod kits, and a 10ml salt bottle is the natural way to refill them
  • Fruit-flavour fans who like some cooling: banana with a mild chill sits between a plain fruit and a full menthol
  • People on a budget: a single bottle is cheaper per puff than a disposable, and the hardware is reusable
  • Vapers who want portability: a 10ml bottle takes up very little room in a bag or pocket

It is probably not the right choice for:

  • Non-smokers and under-18s: it must not be sold to or used by anyone under 18, and it is not meant for people who have never smoked
  • Sub-ohm or high-wattage users: a 20mg salt in a powerful device will deliver far too much nicotine and will feel harsh
  • People who dislike any cooling effect: the ice element is mild but present, so a non-ice banana is a better match
  • Anyone who wants a fully self-contained device: this is a liquid only, so you need compatible hardware
  • People wanting a very thick dessert profile: banana ice is light and refreshing, not a heavy custard or cake style flavour

If you are not sure whether your device is compatible, check the manufacturer's guidance on nicotine salt use and recommended wattage, or contact us with the model name and we can point you in the right direction.

How to use: filling, priming and vaping

Filling a refillable pod is straightforward once you have done it a few times. The steps below apply to most pod kits, but always check your device's instructions for the exact fill port and any specific warnings.

  • Step 1, prepare: switch the device off if it has a lock or off function, and wash and dry your hands.
  • Step 2, open the fill port: remove the pod from the device if you can, and open the silicone bung or slide cover.
  • Step 3, open the bottle: press and turn the child-resistant cap. Keep the tip clean and avoid touching it with your fingers.
  • Step 4, fill gently: place the tip into the port and squeeze slowly. Stop below the max fill line, and avoid filling the central air tube, which causes leaking and gurgling.
  • Step 5, close up: push the bung fully home, wipe away drips with a tissue and snap the pod back into the device.
  • Step 6, prime: wait five to ten minutes for the liquid to saturate the coil, then take a couple of gentle draws before using normally.

For the best experience, take slow, steady draws of about two to three seconds on a mouth-to-lung device, and let the vapour sit in your mouth before inhaling if your kit is designed that way. On restricted direct-to-lung kits, a longer, gentler inhale is more comfortable. Avoid very long, forceful pulls, since they heat the coil harder than the wick can feed it.

A few habits that protect both the flavour and the coil:

  • Never let the pod run completely dry before refilling
  • Give the pod a minute after refilling before firing it
  • Do not mix different liquids in the same pod, since the flavours muddy each other and you may need to change the coil sooner
  • Rinse and dry the pod before changing flavour, and fit a new coil if you can taste the old one

Used bottles and pods should be disposed of responsibly. Empty plastic bottles can usually go in household plastic recycling once rinsed, but check your local council guidance because nicotine residue can affect how some authorities want them handled. Used coils, pods with electronics, and devices should go to a drop-off point for electrical waste.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most problems with refillable pod vaping have simple causes. If something is not right, work through the likely fixes before assuming the liquid is the cause.

  • Burnt or harsh taste: the coil is usually dry, worn or has been fired before it was primed. Replace the coil, prime it properly and avoid chain vaping, which does not give the wick time to resaturate.
  • Muted flavour: sweet liquids like banana coat the coil quickly. Fit a fresh coil and make sure the battery is charged. Also check you have not got vaper's tongue by trying a different flavour or taking a break.
  • Gurgling or spitting: too much liquid in the pod, or condensation in the airflow channel. Remove the pod, blow through the mouthpiece to clear it, and fill slightly lower next time.
  • Leaking: check the pod for cracks, make sure the bung is fully seated and the coil is correctly fitted. Overfilling and sudden temperature changes also cause leaks, for example a pod that has been left in a hot car.
  • Weak vapour: low battery, a blocked airflow path, or a coil that is nearing the end of its life. Clean the contacts with a dry cotton bud and check the airflow is open.
  • Dizziness or nausea: you may be taking in more nicotine than you are used to. Stop vaping, get some fresh air, and consider a lower strength.
  • Sore throat or cough: a hit that is too hot or too dry can irritate your throat. Reduce the wattage, take shorter puffs and drink plenty of water.
  • Device will not fire: check it is switched on, the pod is seated firmly, the contacts are clean and the battery has charge.

If the liquid itself seems off, for example it smells sour, has separated, or has changed texture, stop using that bottle and contact us with the batch details. Please do not try to repair or modify a lithium battery device yourself. If a device overheats, swells or makes unusual noises, stop using it immediately, move it somewhere safe away from flammable materials and take it to a proper recycling point.

Where a problem looks like a fault with the device, return to the retailer or manufacturer for the device. For a problem with the liquid, keep the bottle and packaging so the batch information is available.

Longevity and value for money

Value is where refillable e-liquid beats disposables most clearly. A 10ml bottle holds about five times the liquid found in a standard 2ml disposable. That gives you a lot more vaping for the money, and you keep the device instead of throwing it away after a few days. The running cost of a refillable setup is consistently lower once you account for the occasional replacement pod or coil.

Using the estimate from earlier, a 10ml bottle provides roughly 2,000 to 3,000 puffs depending on your device and puffing style. For a moderate user this can last anywhere from about one to two weeks. A heavier user, particularly on a higher-powered device, may get through it in a few days, and a light user might stretch it to three weeks or longer.

What you actually pay for in a refillable routine:

  • The liquid: the main ongoing cost, easily compared per millilitre against other bottles
  • Replacement coils or pods: usually needed every one to two weeks with a sweet flavour
  • The device: a one-off purchase that can last a year or more with care
  • Charging: negligible electricity cost

It is worth working out your own cost per week rather than relying on headline puff numbers. Add up the cost of your liquid and coils for a typical week and compare it with what you would have spent on cigarettes or on disposables. Most people who make the switch to refillables find the saving noticeable within the first month.

There is also an environmental argument. A refillable kit produces far less plastic and electronic waste than a stream of disposables, particularly when you recycle spent coils, pods and batteries at a proper drop-off point. Multi-buy deals and bundle prices can improve the value further, so check the listing for current offers. Shelf life is also decent, since an unopened, well-stored bottle will usually keep its flavour for a year or more, so buying a spare is not wasteful.

How it compares with other 10ml nic salts

Pod Salt Core is one of several 10ml nicotine salt ranges on the UK market, and it is worth being fair about where it sits next to similar products. Comparisons below are based on general category traits and your experience can differ, so check each bottle label for specifics.

  • Against other mainstream salt ranges (such as Elf Liq, IVG Salt or Nasty Salt): the core features are similar. All offer 10ml bottles at up to 20mg, in a spread of fruit, ice and dessert flavours. The differences come down to flavour tuning, sweetness, the strength of the cooling agent and price. Pod Salt Core is generally positioned as straightforward and approachable, while some rivals lean harder into sweetness or into very strong ice.
  • Against premium dessert and bakery salts: those ranges often have richer, more complex flavours and a thicker feel, but they usually cost more per bottle and can be too heavy for all-day vaping. Banana Ice is lighter and easier to vape continuously.
  • Against shortfill and freebase liquids: shortfills are made for sub-ohm tanks and have far lower nicotine strengths, often 3mg to 6mg after adding shots. They are not a replacement for a 20mg salt and they suit a different kind of device and a different user.
  • Against disposables: disposables are simple, but they cost more per puff, produce more waste and are no longer on sale in Great Britain following the single-use vape ban from June 2025. A refillable setup with this liquid is cheaper and more sustainable, though it requires a little more handling.

Where Pod Salt Core is strong is consistency and ease of use. The flavour is recognisable, the bottle format is standard, and it works in the large majority of pod kits that accept salts. Where it may not suit you is if you want an intense menthol hit, a very rich dessert flavour, or a lower nicotine option in the same range, in which case you should look at the other strengths and flavours.

The honest summary is that no single salt range is right for everyone. If you like the sound of banana with a light chill, Banana Ice is a reasonable bottle to try. If you want a stronger cooling effect, look for a flavour labelled extra ice or a straight menthol. If you want a more rounded fruit mix, try a multi-fruit blend instead.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Best value per ml in the category
  • Choose your own device and coil
  • Available in a wide strength ladder

Cons

  • Refilling can leak if you overfill
  • Coil priming has a small learning curve
  • You handle the bottle — less discreet than pods

Customer Buying Tips

  • Match the strength to how much you smoked: 20+/day → 10-20 mg nic salt; 10/day → 10 mg; under 5/day → 3-6 mg freebase.
  • Match the ratio to your device: pod kits take 50/50, sub-ohm tanks take 70/30 shortfill.
  • Don't overfill: leaving the airhole clear prevents gurgling and leaking.
  • Shake before use so the nicotine and flavour integrate evenly.

Frequently asked questions

What nicotine strength should I choose?

This bottle is 20mg/ml, which is the maximum allowed for nicotine e-liquids in the UK and is usually chosen by people who smoke around ten or more cigarettes a day. If you are a lighter smoker or find 20mg harsh, a 10mg or 12mg salt is a gentler option. Non-smokers should not use nicotine products.

How many puffs will a 10ml bottle give me?

As a rough guide, 10ml gives about 2,000 to 3,000 puffs in a typical low-wattage pod kit, which is about five times the liquid in a 2ml disposable. Real numbers depend on your coil, wattage and how long you draw, so treat this as an estimate.

What devices can I use this liquid in?

It is made for refillable pod kits and low-power mouth-to-lung or restricted direct-to-lung devices, usually running between roughly 8W and 15W. Do not use a 20mg salt in a high-wattage sub-ohm tank, since the nicotine delivery will be far too strong.

How do I charge it?

The liquid itself does not need charging, because the battery is in your device. Charge the device with its supplied cable, do not leave it charging unattended, and take old batteries and vapes to a proper drop-off point for recycling instead of putting them in the bin.

Is Banana Ice very minty or icy?

The cooling is mild to moderate, a clean menthol-style chill on the exhale that sits behind the banana flavour. If you dislike any cooling effect, a non-ice banana flavour is likely a better match, and if you want a stronger chill, look for an extra ice or menthol option.

Can I try other flavours from the same range?

Yes, Pod Salt Core comes in a range of fruit, ice and dessert flavours and in more than one strength. Before switching flavours, rinse the pod and fit a new coil if you can still taste the old liquid, so the flavours do not blend.

How long does a coil last with this flavour?

With a sweet flavour like banana, most regular vapers get about one to two weeks from a coil or pod. Signs it is time to change include a burnt taste, muted flavour or a gurgling sound. Priming a new coil properly helps it last longer.

Is this good value compared with disposables?

Yes, per puff a refillable setup is usually cheaper than a stream of disposables, because 10ml holds about five times the liquid of a 2ml disposable and the device is reused. Single-use vapes have also been banned from sale in Great Britain since June 2025, so refillables are now the standard route.

Who should not buy this product?

Anyone under 18, non-smokers, and anyone who is pregnant or has a heart condition without medical advice should not use it. It is also unsuitable for high-wattage sub-ohm devices. Nicotine is addictive, so it is intended only for adult smokers and existing vapers.

Do you deliver to the UK and what about returns?

We deliver to UK addresses, with an age check required as nicotine products are for over 18s only, and delivery options and cut-off times are shown at checkout. For returns, e-liquid is a consumable, so see our returns policy for what applies to unopened items, and contact us straight away if your bottle arrives damaged or the seal is broken.

Really satisfied

Switched from a well-known brand and this is actually better, especially for the price. Will reorder.

Fairly priced for what you get

Delivery was super fast and the product is genuine. I've had fakes before so this was a relief.
