SKE Crystal 600 Prefilled Pods Bull Ice: overview

SKE Crystal 600 Prefilled Pods in Bull Ice are sealed, ready-filled replacement pods for the SKE Crystal 600 pod system. Instead of buying a new throwaway device every time your e-liquid runs out, you keep the rechargeable battery and swap in a fresh pod. Each pod is rated for roughly 600 puffs, holds 2ml of nicotine salt e-liquid and is built around a mesh coil that is already fitted and wicked at the factory. There is nothing to fill, no coil to prime by hand and no tank to clean.

Bull Ice is the energy-drink-style flavour in the line. Think sweet, slightly tangy and sparkling fruit notes, followed by a cold menthol finish on the exhale. It sits in the same general territory as other chilled, sweet-sharp flavours, but it is different enough from the usual blue raspberry or watermelon ice options that people who have worked through the standard fruit selection often pick it as a change of pace.

This page covers what you actually get with the pod, how it performs in everyday use, how it is built, what to expect from the battery that powers it, which nicotine strength makes sense, who it suits, how to use it, what to do if something goes wrong and how it compares with the alternatives sold in the UK. We have tried to be straightforward about the limits as well as the strengths, because a 600 puff pod is a practical, modest product and it is better to know that before you buy.

  • Format: prefilled replacement pod for a compatible SKE Crystal 600 battery device
  • Rated puff count: around 600 puffs per pod
  • E-liquid capacity: 2ml, which is the UK maximum for refillable-style pods and tanks
  • Coil: pre-installed mesh coil
  • Nicotine: nicotine salt, normally supplied at 20mg/ml (2%), which is the UK legal ceiling
  • Flavour: Bull Ice, energy-drink style with a cooling finish

A note on the figures: puff counts and strengths are manufacturer ratings. Always check the strength printed on the pod or the pack in your hand, because that is the figure that applies to you.

Pod format, compatibility and what is in the pack

The first thing to understand is that this is a pod, not a complete device. The pod contains the e-liquid reservoir, the mesh coil, the wicking material and the mouthpiece in one sealed plastic unit. The battery, the airflow sensor and the charging port all live in the reusable device that the pod clicks into. If you do not already own a SKE Crystal 600 battery, you will need to buy one separately, and it is worth checking the listing before you order so that you are not left with pods and nothing to power them.

Compatibility is narrower than people sometimes expect. Pods from one manufacturer are almost never interchangeable with another manufacturer's battery, and even within a single brand the connector shape can change from one product line to the next. Crystal 600 pods are made for the Crystal 600 device. Do not assume they will seat properly in a different SKE product, an Elf Bar style device or any generic pod kit. A pod forced into the wrong battery can fail to fire, leak or damage the contacts.

What arrives in the pack depends on the listing you choose. Some listings are for a single pod and others are for a multipack, so read the product title and quantity carefully. In every case the pod is shipped sealed, often with a small protective cap or film over the mouthpiece and the airflow openings, and you should remove those before you first use it.

  • Included: the prefilled pod or pods, in the quantity shown on the listing
  • Not included: the Crystal 600 battery device and charging cable, unless the listing says it is a kit
  • Not refillable: the pod is designed to be used once and then recycled, not opened or topped up
  • Age restricted: you must be 18 or over to buy, and ID may be requested at checkout or on delivery

Because the pod is a consumable, it is sensible to keep a spare or two in stock. Running out of liquid while your battery is fully charged is the most common reason people end up buying something they did not really want from a petrol station.

Flavour profile: Bull Ice and the wider Crystal range

Bull Ice is built around the taste of a canned energy drink. If you have never tried that style of flavour in a vape, the easiest way to picture it is a sweet, slightly sherbet-like fruit blend with a sharp, tangy edge and a hint of the syrupy, almost cola-adjacent character that energy drinks have. It is not a straightforward single-fruit flavour. Different people pick out different notes, with tropical fruit, red berries and a touch of candy all common descriptions.

On the inhale you get the sweet, fizzy-style fruit up front. Through the middle of the draw the tang comes forward, which stops the flavour from feeling flat or cloying. On the exhale the ice element arrives: a clean menthol cooling that lingers on the tongue and the back of the throat. The cooling is noticeable rather than overpowering. It is stronger than a plain fruit flavour, but it is not at the arctic end of the scale that some extra-chilled blends reach.

Flavour consistency is one of the things a mesh coil does reasonably well. Most of the pod's life tastes close to the first few puffs. In the last stretch, when the liquid level drops, you may notice the sweetness thinning and the cooling becoming a little sharper. That is your signal that the pod is nearly done.

If the energy-drink style does not appeal, the wider Crystal 600 range has been built around flavours that are familiar to UK vapers. Lines in this family have typically included options such as:

  • Blue Razz Ice: blue raspberry with a cold finish
  • Watermelon Ice: juicy, light and sweet with menthol
  • Strawberry Ice: ripe strawberry, cooler on the exhale
  • Pink Lemonade: sweet and tart citrus without much cooling
  • Cherry Cola: dark cherry over a fizzy cola base
  • Fizzy Cherry: sweet cherry with a soda-style sparkle
  • Triple Mango: rich tropical mango, no menthol
  • Peach Ice: soft stone fruit with a cool edge

Availability changes from batch to batch, so check the current listings rather than assuming every flavour is in stock. If you find Bull Ice too cold, look for non-ice flavours; if you like it, other chilled fruit blends in the range will probably suit you as well.

Performance and puff delivery

The 600 puff rating on the pack comes from a standardised testing routine, normally machine draws of around two to three seconds at a set interval. Real life is messier. People take short sips, long pulls, chain several puffs in a row or leave the device in a pocket for hours. As a working guide, a light user taking measured draws may see 600 to 700 puffs from a pod, while a heavy user who pulls hard and often might finish the same pod closer to 400 or 450.

It helps to translate the number into a day-to-day timescale. For a former smoker who vapes steadily through the day, a pod might last somewhere between one and two days. For an occasional user, one pod can last a week or more. Whichever profile you fit, it is worth buying pods in packs so the cost per pod is lower and you are never caught out.

The Crystal 600 is designed around a mouth-to-lung draw. That means you pull the vapour into your mouth first, pause, then inhale it into your lungs, in a similar way to drawing on a cigarette. The airflow is deliberately tight and the vapour production is moderate rather than cloud-heavy. This is a feature rather than a flaw for people moving over from smoking, because the restricted draw pairs well with 20mg nicotine salt and delivers a familiar throat sensation.

Most pod devices in this category are draw-activated, so there is no button to press. You simply inhale through the mouthpiece and the sensor fires the coil. Check the instructions that come with your battery to confirm this, but the practical result is that the device is simple to use from the first minute.

  • Throat hit: smooth for a 20mg salt, with a mild kick that builds with longer draws
  • Vapour: light to moderate, easy to use discreetly
  • Warm-up: fast, because the mesh reaches working temperature quickly
  • Consistency: steady flavour for most of the pod's life, tapering at the end

If you are used to high-power rebuildable setups, you will find this gentle. If you are used to a cigarette, you will probably find it familiar.

Design and build quality

The pod is a compact, lightweight plastic unit. The Crystal name comes from the translucent finish, which lets you see the e-liquid level through the body of the pod. That is a genuinely useful detail, since many sealed systems hide the remaining liquid and leave you guessing. A quick glance tells you whether you have got a few puffs or half a pod left.

Build quality is what you would expect from a mass-market consumable, which is to say functional rather than luxurious. The plastic is fairly thin, the mouthpiece is moulded as part of the pod and the seals are designed to hold for the life of the liquid rather than for years of handling. We would not describe it as fragile, but we would not drop it onto a hard floor on purpose either. A pod that cracks can leak, and e-liquid containing nicotine should not touch bare skin for long.

The mouthpiece is rounded and comfortable for longer sessions. Some people dislike narrow mouthpieces that feel like a straw, and this one is a bit wider than that, with enough lip contact that it feels like a purposeful draw. The airflow openings are small and out of the way, so the pod does not look cluttered.

Fit between the pod and the battery matters more than the cosmetics. A correctly made pod should seat firmly, with no wobble and no gap at the base. If you see a visible gap, remove the pod, check that the protective film has been taken off and reseat it. A loose fit is one of the first things to check when the device will not fire.

  • Weight and size: light and pocketable, with the battery fitted the whole device is about the size of a small lighter
  • Leak resistance: reasonable if stored upright and kept away from heat
  • Finish: translucent, so you can see the liquid level at a glance
  • Durability: designed to last a single pod's life, not to be handled roughly

For the price of a pod, this is a sensible level of build. It is not trying to be a premium accessory, and it does the job it was made for.

Battery and charging

The pod itself has no battery. Power comes from the Crystal 600 device that the pod is fitted to. Devices in this class commonly carry a battery in the region of 400 to 550mAh, which is enough to drive a low-power mesh coil for roughly one to two pods before the battery needs topping up. Exact capacity varies by device version, so treat those figures as a guide and check the specification of the battery you own.

Charging is normally done over USB-C through a port on the base of the device. A full charge generally takes somewhere between 30 and 60 minutes with a standard 5V charger, and many devices include an indicator light that changes colour or flashes when the battery is low or charging is complete. Most people find that charging overnight or at their desk once every day or two is all that is needed.

There are a few sensible habits to build up around charging, especially if you are new to rechargeable devices.

  • Use a standard 5V USB charger, such as a phone charger or a computer USB port, rather than a high-output fast charger that you are not sure about.
  • Do not leave the device charging unattended for long periods or on a soft surface like a bed or sofa.
  • Do not vape while the device is plugged in unless the manufacturer specifically says it is safe to do so.
  • Keep the charging port free of lint and dust, and replace damaged cables.
  • Do not use a device with visible swelling, heat damage or a cracked casing.

Battery life declines gradually over hundreds of charge cycles. For most users, a device will last for many months and will outlive many pods, which is where the cost saving over disposables comes from. When the battery eventually stops holding a useful charge, it should be recycled rather than put in the bin.

Lithium batteries are one of the main causes of fires in household waste and recycling lorries. In the UK, the correct approach is to take old devices to a dedicated electrical or battery drop-off point, which many supermarkets, local council recycling centres and vape shops provide.

Mesh coil technology and e-liquid capacity

The coil is the part that heats the e-liquid and turns it into vapour. Older pod products used a round wire coil wrapped around a cotton wick, which heated the liquid from a relatively small contact area. A mesh coil replaces that with a thin, flat sheet of metal woven into a grid and pressed against the wicking material. Because the heated surface is much larger, the liquid is warmed more evenly, which tends to give better flavour, less chance of hot spots and a more stable vapour temperature.

For a pod this size, the practical benefits of mesh are fairly easy to notice. The coil warms up almost instantly, so you are not waiting for the first puff to taste of anything. The flavour stays more consistent from draw to draw. And because the coil operates at a lower temperature than a small wire coil would for the same output, there is less risk of the liquid scorching if you take reasonable puffs. Typical coil resistance in this class of pod sits roughly in the 1.0 to 1.4 ohm range, though manufacturers do not always publish the exact figure.

The pod holds 2ml of e-liquid. That number is not a design choice by SKE, it is the UK legal limit for the capacity of a refillable tank or pod under the rules that came in with the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations. Every brand selling replaceable pods in the UK works within that same limit, which is why 600 puffs is the sort of figure you see across the category.

E-liquid for nicotine salt pods is normally a blend of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG), plus flavouring and nicotine. Salt formulations tend to have a higher PG share, often around a 50/50 split, which helps the throat hit stay smooth while still transferring nicotine efficiently.

  • Dry hits: if the liquid is nearly gone, the wick can run dry and the vapour tastes harsh or burnt; swap pods as soon as the flavour fades
  • Coil life: the coil is designed to last as long as the liquid, which is why the whole pod is replaced
  • Chain vaping: taking many puffs back to back can overheat the wick, so give it a few seconds between draws

Nicotine strength guidance for UK vapers

In the UK, nicotine-containing e-liquid is capped at 20mg/ml, which is the same as 2% by volume. That ceiling applies to refill bottles, prefilled pods and the disposable devices that used to be sold, and it is why you will see 20mg on so many products here, where other countries sell 35mg, 50mg or more. If you see a pod claiming to be stronger than 20mg/ml, it does not meet UK rules and you should not buy it.

Prefilled pods in the Crystal 600 line are normally sold at 20mg/ml. That is a strong setting by the standards of the wider vape market, but nicotine salts are smoother on the throat than the older freebase nicotine, so it is more comfortable to use than the number implies. Salts also deliver nicotine into the bloodstream faster, which is why they help many smokers manage cravings.

A rough guide to choosing a strength is below. If the pack you are looking at is only available in 20mg/ml, then this section will help you decide whether it fits your needs at all.

  • Smoking 10 or more cigarettes a day, or smoking within an hour of waking: 20mg/ml is the sensible starting point, because anything lower may leave you under-dosed and tempted to go back to cigarettes.
  • Smoking fewer than 10 a day, or only socially: 20mg/ml can feel strong and may cause lightheadedness or nausea. A lower strength, if one is offered in the range, is usually a better fit.
  • Already vaping at lower strengths: do not jump to 20mg/ml without a reason, because you may find it harsher than you want.
  • Never smoked: nicotine is not for you. It is addictive and there is no benefit to starting.

Signs that you are taking in too much nicotine include dizziness, headache, sweating, a racing heart and nausea. If that happens, stop, drink some water and get fresh air. If symptoms are severe or do not pass, seek medical advice.

Vaping is widely regarded by UK health bodies as far less harmful than smoking, but it is not risk-free, and it is intended as a way for adult smokers to move away from cigarettes. If you want help stopping completely, local stop smoking services and the NHS can offer support, and some areas run schemes that provide a vape starter kit to smokers who want to switch.

Keep all pods, devices and e-liquid out of reach of children and pets. Nicotine is toxic if swallowed.

Who it is for, and who should skip it

No product suits everybody, and the Crystal 600 pods are no exception. Here is a plain assessment of who gets the most from them and who would be better served elsewhere.

This is a good fit for:

  • Adult smokers who want a simple, cigarette-like way to switch and do not want to learn about coils, wattage or refilling.
  • Former disposable users who want to keep the convenience of a sealed product but reduce waste by reusing the battery.
  • Vapers who like sweet, chilled, slightly tangy flavours and want to try an energy-drink style profile.
  • People who like a discreet, light device that fits in a pocket or small bag.
  • Anyone who wants predictable cost per pod rather than buying bottles, coils and tanks separately.

You may want to skip it if:

  • You are under 18, or you do not currently smoke or vape. Nicotine is addictive and there is no reason to start.
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding. Speak to a midwife, GP or stop smoking adviser about the safest way to quit.
  • You want big clouds or a loose direct-to-lung draw. The tight airflow here is aimed at mouth-to-lung users, and vapour output is modest.
  • You vape heavily through the day and would burn through a pod in a few hours. A refillable system would work out cheaper per millilitre and would not leave you changing pods so often.
  • You dislike menthol or cooling flavours. The ice element in Bull Ice is a core part of the taste, so it may not suit you. A non-ice flavour from the range is a better choice.
  • You want adjustable power, interchangeable coils or a premium build. This is a closed, simple system by design.

If you are not sure, try a single pod before committing to a multipack, and match the strength to your smoking habit rather than to what feels most impressive on the label.

How to fit, use and look after a pod

Using a prefilled pod takes a minute or two, but a few small steps make a real difference to how the first few puffs taste and how long the pod lasts.

  • Charge first. Make sure the battery is charged, or at least has enough power to avoid cutting out partway through a session.
  • Unpack the pod. Remove it from its packaging and peel off any protective film, caps or stickers on the mouthpiece and the base. Check that no liquid is visible outside the pod.
  • Fit it to the battery. Push the pod into the device until it sits flush and firm. Depending on the version you may feel a click or a magnetic pull.
  • Let it settle. Wait about one to two minutes so the wick can fully soak up the liquid. Skipping this step is the usual cause of a dry or harsh first puff.
  • Start gently. Take a few light draws of about two seconds each. The device should fire as soon as you inhale.
  • Pace yourself. Leave a few seconds between puffs, especially at the start. Rapid chain puffing heats the wick faster than it can be refilled with liquid.
  • Store it sensibly. Keep the device upright where possible, away from direct sun, hot cars and freezing temperatures. Heat expands the liquid and encourages leaks.
  • Swap when needed. Replace the pod when the flavour drops, the vapour thins, or you can see the liquid has nearly run out.

When a pod is finished, do not throw it in the household bin. In the UK, vape pods and devices are electrical waste. Many vape shops, supermarkets and household waste recycling centres offer drop-off points, and some retailers will accept used pods and batteries when you buy replacements. It is worth taking five minutes to find your nearest one and keeping a small bag or tin for used pods until you can drop them off.

Wipe the metal contacts on the battery with a dry cloth now and then. If a little liquid has transferred, it can interrupt the connection and make the device appear dead.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most problems with pod systems come down to a small number of causes, and almost all of them can be solved in a minute. Work through the list below before assuming a pod or battery is faulty.

  • Device will not fire: check that the pod is fully seated and that all protective film has been removed. Confirm that the battery has charge by plugging it in and looking for the indicator light. Wipe the contacts with a dry cloth.
  • Weak or no vapour: the wick may not have soaked yet, so wait a minute and try slow, gentle draws. If the pod is nearly empty, replace it.
  • Burnt or harsh taste: this usually means the liquid is running low or you have been chain vaping. Stop, let the pod rest for a minute and take shorter puffs. If it continues, the pod is finished.
  • Gurgling or spitting sound: excess liquid has pooled around the coil. Remove the pod, hold it with the mouthpiece pointing down onto a tissue and blow gently through it, then refit it.
  • Leaking: check for a cracked pod or a badly seated base. Store upright, avoid heat and do not squeeze the pod. If liquid is on your hands, wash it off with soap and water.
  • Indicator light flashing: on many devices this means low battery or a short circuit. Charge the device and check the connection between pod and battery.
  • Device will not charge: try a different cable and a different USB source, and check the port for lint.
  • Flavour seems too cold: Bull Ice includes a deliberate cooling element. Take smaller puffs and allow a short pause between draws.
  • Metallic taste: usually a sign that the coil is overheating. Slow your puffs and check that the pod is not almost empty.

If you have tried these steps and the pod still does not work, contact the shop that sold it, quote your order number and describe what you tried. A pod that arrives damaged or faulty should be reported promptly, ideally with a photo, so that it can be dealt with under the returns policy.

Value for money and how it compares

The simplest way to look at value is cost per puff and cost per week. Because you reuse the battery, you only pay for the liquid and coil in each pod. Over a few months that works out cheaper than single-use devices ever did, and the environmental case is stronger because there is far less plastic and battery waste. Single-use disposable vapes have also been banned from sale in the UK since June 2025, so rechargeable pod systems like this one are now the straightforward way to get the same convenience.

Here is an honest comparison with the main alternatives a UK vaper is likely to consider.

  • Other closed pod systems from large brands: products such as Vuse ePod devices or ELFA-style pods operate on similar principles, with 2ml prefilled pods and 20mg strengths. Big-brand systems often have wider shop availability and a more polished feel. Crystal 600 pods tend to offer more flavour variety, particularly in the sweet and ice-style end of the market. Per-pod prices are broadly in the same range, so the deciding factor is usually the flavour you want.
  • Refillable pod kits and tanks: cheaper per millilitre once you are buying 10ml bottles, with more control over flavour and strength. The trade-off is more effort: refilling, changing coils and occasional leaks. Prefilled pods win on simplicity.
  • Higher-puff rechargeable kits: some kits claim 1,000 or more puffs from a single pod. With the UK 2ml cap, those claims should be read with caution, because the amount of liquid is the same. A 600 puff rating on a 2ml pod is a more modest claim, and tends to be closer to reality.
  • Disposable-style products still in circulation: any sold today should be treated carefully. If a seller is still offering single-use devices, check that it is legal and consider moving to a reusable system.

Where the Crystal 600 falls short is in sheer capacity. A 600 puff pod is not much if you vape heavily, and you will be changing pods more often than with a larger refillable system. Where it does well is in being easy, discreet, familiar to use and varied in flavour.

For a smoker moving over to vaping, or a casual vaper who values convenience, the cost per day is reasonable and the system is simple enough that there is little to learn. For a heavy vaper or someone who likes to tinker, a refillable device will usually be the better long-term option.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Zero-mess flavour change — snap in, done
  • Consistent draw from a factory-primed coil
  • Long shelf-life, easy to travel with

Cons

  • Costs more per ml than freestanding e-liquid
  • Pods are proprietary to a specific device
  • Only sold at 20 mg or 10 mg — no lower strengths

Customer Buying Tips

  • Check device compatibility: a pod must match your exact device family (e.g. "Elfa Pro" pods only fit Elfa Pro devices).
  • Store sealed pods upright, below 30 °C — heat and sunlight drain flavour.
  • Rotate flavours: using the same pod flavour back-to-back dulls your palate within a week.
  • Prime the pod for 60 seconds after fitting to avoid a dry hit.

Frequently asked questions

What nicotine strength should I choose for SKE Crystal 600 Bull Ice pods?

UK law caps nicotine e-liquid at 20mg/ml, and these pods are normally sold at that strength. If you smoke around 10 or more cigarettes a day, 20mg/ml is a sensible starting point. If you smoke less or you are new to nicotine salts, it can feel strong, so check whether a lower strength is offered in the range and always read the strength printed on the pack.

How do I charge the device and how long does it take?

The pod has no battery, so you charge the Crystal 600 device that it fits into, usually through a USB-C port with a standard 5V charger. A full charge generally takes 30 to 60 minutes. Avoid leaving it charging unattended and do not vape while it is plugged in unless your device instructions say it is safe.

Can I swap to a different flavour, and will the pod fit other devices?

You can change flavour at any time by removing the finished pod and fitting a different Crystal 600 pod. Pods are made for the Crystal 600 battery and should not be assumed to fit other brands or other SKE product lines. Always check compatibility on the listing before buying.

How long does one pod last?

Each pod is rated for about 600 puffs. A light user may get 600 to 700 puffs, while a heavy user could finish it nearer 400 to 450. For a daily vaper that usually means one pod every one to two days.

Is this good value compared with other options?

Because you reuse the battery, you only pay for the liquid and coil in each pod, which works out cheaper over time than the single-use devices that used to be sold. Refillable kits are cheaper per millilitre but need more effort, while other closed pod brands cost broadly the same per pod. The flavour you prefer is often the deciding factor.

Who should buy these pods and who should avoid them?

They suit adult smokers and vapers who want a simple, sealed, mouth-to-lung pod with sweet and cooling flavours. They are not for anyone under 18, non-smokers, or people who are pregnant or breastfeeding without medical advice. Heavy vapers and fans of big clouds may prefer a larger refillable system.

Is Bull Ice very cold, and can I get a flavour without the cooling?

Bull Ice has a noticeable menthol finish but it is not at the extreme end of the cooling scale. If you would prefer no cooling at all, choose a non-ice flavour from the range, such as a mango or cherry cola style pod, subject to current stock.

Do you deliver across the UK and how fast?

We deliver to addresses across the UK, and delivery options and estimated times are shown at checkout. Because this is an age-restricted product, you must be 18 or over, and ID may be requested at checkout or on delivery. Orders are packed discreetly.

What is the warranty and returns position if a pod arrives damaged or faulty?

Pods are sealed consumable nicotine products, so opened pods are generally not eligible for return for hygiene and safety reasons. If a pod arrives damaged, leaking or faulty, contact us promptly with your order number and a clear photo, and we will deal with it under our returns policy. Check the returns page for the full terms.

How do I dispose of used pods and batteries in the UK?

Do not put them in household waste or kerbside recycling. Used pods and devices count as electrical waste, and the batteries can start fires in bin lorries. Take them to a drop-off point such as a household waste recycling centre, a supermarket electrical bank or a vape shop that accepts returns.

Smooth throat hit

Not too strong, not too mild — just right. Good for all day use without being overpowering.
