SKE Crystal CL6000 Double Apple: what this listing covers

SKE Crystal CL6000 Prefilled Pods and Refill Containers in Double Apple is a consumables listing for the SKE Crystal CL6000 pod system. It is a rechargeable format built around a replaceable pod and a separate refill container, rather than a sealed body that you throw away when the liquid runs out. The flavour is Double Apple, the nicotine options shown on the product page are the ones that can legally be sold in the UK, and the headline figure is a manufacturer rating of 6000 puffs. That last number deserves a careful read, and we explain below how puff ratings are produced and what they mean in daily use.

Pod-and-refill is a different proposition from the single-use disposables that filled UK counters for years. A disposable bundles the battery, the coil and the liquid into one sealed unit. A pod system keeps the battery and electronics in a reusable body and treats the pod, the coil and the e-liquid as parts you replace. The CL6000 sits in that second group, with one extra step: the refill container lets you top up a pod instead of buying a fresh prefilled one every time. Since 1 June 2025, sales of single-use disposable vapes have been banned across the UK, so rechargeable and refillable formats like this one are now the mainstream route for adult smokers who want a flavoured, nicotine-containing alternative to cigarettes.

This page is written for UK adults who want to understand the product before they buy. It covers the following ground in plain terms:

  • What Double Apple actually tastes like and what to expect from the flavour over a full pod
  • How the 6000 puff figure works, and how many days it is likely to last you
  • How the prefilled pod and the refill container fit together
  • Build quality, battery, charging, and the mesh coil inside the pod
  • Which nicotine strength to choose, given the UK 20mg/ml cap
  • Who this suits, who should skip it, and how it compares with the alternatives

One housekeeping point. This listing is for pods and refill containers. If you do not already own a compatible CL6000 device, check the variant selector and the product description on this page to confirm exactly what is included in the pack before you order. Pods are designed for a specific body, and a pod that does not match your device will not seat, will not fire, or may leak. If you are unsure, send us a message with your device details and we will check compatibility before dispatch.

Finally, a plain statement of the basics. Vaping products containing nicotine are for adults aged 18 and over, are intended for smokers who want to switch, and are not risk-free. Nicotine is addictive. If you do not currently smoke or vape, this is not a product for you. Everything on this page is written on that understanding.

Double Apple flavour profile: what to expect from the pod

The name Double Apple comes from the shisha tradition, where it refers to a blend of two apple notes, typically red and green or sweet and sour, and in classic hookah tobacco it often carries a faint aniseed edge. Vape versions vary. Some keep a whisper of that aniseed warmth, while others drop it and concentrate on a straightforward sweet-and-tart apple. Flavours are a matter of recipe and taste, so treat the description below as a guide to what Double Apple generally means in this category rather than a guarantee of every note in this particular liquid.

Here is how the profile tends to unfold across a single puff:

  • Inhale: a crisp, juicy apple note up front, usually leaning towards a green or slightly sharp apple rather than a baked or candied one. The sweetness arrives quickly and sits mid-palate.
  • Exhale: a rounder, ripe red-apple sweetness takes over, which is where the second apple in the name does its work. If the recipe includes the traditional aniseed touch, this is where you would notice a mild, herbal warmth.
  • Aftertaste: clean and lightly sweet, with no heavy dessert or cream layer. Apple profiles generally leave less lingering residue than sweet dessert flavours, though sweetener still builds up on a coil over time.

There is no Ice in the product name, so you should expect little or no menthol cooling. If you want a chilled finish, look for an Ice variant of a similar apple flavour instead. Double Apple sits in the fruit category: bright, easy to vape throughout the day, and not as sweet or heavy as a candy or bubblegum flavour.

Flavour fade is worth mentioning because it catches many new pod users out. Over the course of a pod or a few refills, your palate adapts to a single flavour, a phenomenon vapers call vaper's tongue. If Double Apple tastes muted after a long session, it does not always mean the coil has failed. Try a glass of water, a short break, or a few puffs of a different flavour before you decide anything is wrong. If the muting persists with a burnt or flat note, check the coil troubleshooting section later on this page.

If you enjoy this profile, there are neighbouring flavours worth browsing across the wider market, and you can use them to judge whether apple suits you before committing to a bulk pack:

  • Sour Apple, for a sharper, more acidic bite
  • Green Apple Ice, for the same fruit with menthol cooling
  • Apple Peach, for a softer, sweeter fruit pairing
  • Apple Pear, for a gentler, more orchard-style mix
  • Watermelon Apple, for a juicier, summery blend
  • Cherry Apple, for a deeper, slightly tart red-fruit finish

Other flavours in the SKE family are listed on our SKE brand page, so you can compare and pick a second flavour to rotate with if you find a single taste gets monotonous.

Performance and puff delivery

The 6000 puff rating is a manufacturer estimate, not a measurement you can rely on to the single puff. Brands calculate it by running a machine at a fixed puff length and interval until the liquid is used up, then dividing. A person does not vape like a machine. Longer draws, harder draws, chain vaping and lower nicotine strengths all consume more liquid per puff, so real-world counts usually land below the printed figure. Treat 6000 as an upper-end guide and plan around somewhere between roughly 4000 and 6000 real puffs.

There is one more thing to understand about the number. UK rules limit a single tank or pod to 2ml of e-liquid, and they limit nicotine-containing refill containers to 10ml. A 6000 puff rating cannot come from one 2ml pod. It has to be read as the rating for the system across a prefilled pod plus the refill container that tops it up, which is exactly why this format exists. You get the convenience of a prefilled pod to start, then the lower running cost of refilling once it is empty. Check the label on your pack for the exact millilitres in each container, because capacity varies by variant.

To turn a puff rating into something practical, think in days rather than puffs. These are rough figures, not promises:

  • Light use, around 100 to 150 puffs a day: in the region of 40 to 60 days from the full 6000 puffs.
  • Moderate use, around 300 puffs a day: around 20 days.
  • Heavy use, around 600 puffs a day: roughly 10 days.

Vapour production on a pod system of this kind is moderate. These devices are designed to feel closer to smoking than to a large cloud-chasing setup, so you should expect a tighter, restricted draw and a smaller, cooler vapour than you would get from a sub-ohm tank. For many smokers who are switching, that is the point. The draw resistance, the nicotine salt format and the modest vapour volume combine to give a satisfying throat sensation without a harsh blast of heat.

Consistency over the life of a pod matters more than peak performance on day one. A well-made mesh coil should give a steady flavour from the first puff through to the last, with a gradual rather than sudden fade. If a pod starts strongly and collapses early, the cause is usually a fault, a priming problem or chain vaping rather than the design. We cover the likeliest causes in the troubleshooting section.

A last point on delivery. Most draw-activated pod systems fire only when you inhale, so there is no button to hold and no risk of accidentally burning a dry coil by pressing the wrong control. The trade-off is that very gentle sipping can occasionally fail to trigger the sensor, so a slightly firmer first draw usually gets things going.

Prefilled pods and refill containers: how the system works

The part of this product that is easiest to misunderstand is the relationship between the two parts of the name. They are not interchangeable and they are not redundant. They do two different jobs.

  • The prefilled pod is a sealed, ready-to-use pod containing e-liquid, a coil and a wick, filled at the factory. You push it into the device and vape. There is no mess and nothing to measure. This is the convenient option, and for travel or for the first pod you try, it is the simplest way in.
  • The refill container holds additional e-liquid, in the same flavour and strength, that you use to top up a pod once it is empty. It lets you reuse the pod and coil for further fills instead of buying a new prefilled pod each time, which lowers the cost per puff.

UK rules shape what each part looks like. A pod or tank cannot exceed 2ml, which is why prefilled pods are small. Refill containers holding nicotine e-liquid cannot exceed 10ml, they must be child-resistant and tamper-evident, and they must carry the required health warning and ingredient information. If a container does not meet these requirements it should not be on sale in the UK, so be wary of anything that looks unlabelled or oversized.

A few practical rules will save you money and frustration:

  • Only use pods and refill containers designed for the CL6000 system. A pod that appears to fit but is not matched to the device can seat badly, leak or burn out quickly.
  • Keep flavour and strength consistent. If you refill a Double Apple pod with a different flavour, you will blend tastes and the old flavour will linger in the wick. If you refill with a different nicotine strength, you change the strength you are actually inhaling and may not notice until it feels too harsh or too weak.
  • Do not refill a pod beyond a handful of times without monitoring the coil. A mesh coil is not designed to last forever, and a coil that has been fired repeatedly on sugar-heavy liquid will eventually taste scorched, however much fresh liquid you add.
  • Keep a spare prefilled pod in your bag. If a refill goes wrong or a coil gives up, you can swap to a fresh sealed pod in seconds.

Storage matters for both parts. Keep pods and containers upright, away from heat and direct sunlight, and out of reach of children and pets. E-liquid containing nicotine is poisonous if swallowed or absorbed through the skin in quantity, and a small refill container is a real hazard in a house with young children. Wash your hands if you spill any on your skin, and wipe up spills straight away.

Design and build quality

The Crystal name across the SKE range points to translucent or semi-transparent housings, and the CL6000 format keeps to the compact, pocket-sized shape that pod systems are known for. We are not able to guarantee every detail of the finish for every colour and batch, so rather than inventing specifications we will describe what to look for when your order arrives and what generally separates a well-made pod from a poor one.

When you unbox the pods and the device, check the following:

  • Seating: a pod should push in with a clear, firm click or a clean magnetic snap, with no wobble once it is in. A loose pod is the leading cause of poor contact, intermittent firing and leaks.
  • Mouthpiece: the surface should be smooth, with no moulding flash or rough edges, and the opening should be centred. A cheap mouthpiece is uncomfortable to hold between the lips for a whole session.
  • Liquid window: if the pod has a clear window, you should be able to see the liquid level at a glance. This is useful when judging when to refill, because running a mesh coil dry is the quickest way to ruin it.
  • Fill port: the silicone plug on a refillable pod should sit flush and feel snug. A plug that pops out in a pocket will leak into your bag.
  • Contacts: the metal contacts on the pod base and in the device socket should be clean and bright. Any residue means a risk of weak or inconsistent firing.

On weight and handling, devices of this type are light, typically designed to be carried all day without noticing. The trade-off for the light body is that the plastic shell can scratch or crack if dropped on a hard floor. A small case or a separate pocket protects the device and keeps stray keys and coins away from the charging port.

A well-designed pod system also thinks about airflow. A small airflow opening near the base of the pod or device controls how much air mixes with the vapour. On draw-activated systems this opening is usually fixed, so you cannot adjust the draw, but you can make sure it stays clear. A blocked intake gives you a tighter draw than the designers intended and may stop the sensor triggering.

If anything about the finish looks wrong on arrival, such as cracks, a crooked pod socket, loose parts or visible liquid inside the packaging, do not use it. Photograph it and contact us with your order number so we can sort out a replacement under our returns policy.

Battery, charging and safe disposal

The pods and refill containers in this listing do not contain a battery. The power comes from the rechargeable lithium-ion cell inside the CL6000 device. Because the capacity differs between device variants, we do not publish a single mAh figure here that we cannot confirm for every unit. As a general reference point, compact pod devices in this class commonly use cells somewhere in the range of 500 to 1000 mAh. Check the label on your device or the manufacturer's specification for the precise number.

Charging is done through a USB-C port on most current pod systems, and the sensible habits are the same regardless of brand:

  • Use the cable supplied, or a reputable USB-C cable, and a standard phone-style wall adapter or a computer port. You do not need a high-wattage fast charger, and an unbranded adapter of unknown quality is a poor choice for a lithium-ion battery.
  • Expect a full charge to take roughly one to two hours. An LED will usually show charging in progress and change colour or switch off when the battery is full, although the exact pattern varies by model.
  • Do not leave the device charging unattended overnight or while you are out. Charge it on a hard, non-flammable surface in the room you are in, and unplug it when it is full.
  • Do not vape while charging unless the manufacturer says the device supports it, and do not charge a device that is damp, hot or visibly damaged.
  • Keep the charging port clean and dry. Lint and moisture inside the port are a common cause of charging faults.

You will charge more often than you change pods. The battery is usually the part that determines how many puffs you get in a single day, while the pod and refill determine how many puffs you get in total. A moderate user may find a charge every two to three days is enough, whereas a heavy user may want to top up daily.

When the battery reaches the end of its life, do not put the device in your household bin or your kerbside recycling. Lithium-ion cells can start fires in bin lorries and recycling plants. Instead:

  • Take it to the small electricals bank at your local household recycling centre.
  • Use the take-back service of a shop that sells vapes, since retailers that supply electrical products are expected to accept old items for recycling.
  • Use the drop-off point finder on the Recycle Your Electricals website, and ask your local council whether empty pods are accepted alongside the device.

Never crush, puncture or burn a vape, and tape over the contacts of a damaged device before you take it for recycling if you can do so safely.

Coil and mesh technology

The coil is the heating element that turns e-liquid into vapour, and in a pod system it sits inside the pod itself. That is one of the biggest practical differences from a traditional refillable tank, where you replace the coil separately. With the CL6000 you renew the coil whenever you replace the pod, and the quality of that coil largely decides how the product tastes.

Modern pods of this kind tend to use a mesh coil instead of a simple round wire. A mesh coil is a thin, flat sheet of resistance material formed into a curved surface, and it brings a few clear advantages:

  • Greater surface area: the liquid touches more of the heating element at once, so it vaporises more evenly and with less localised hot-spotting.
  • Faster ramp-up: the coil reaches working temperature in a fraction of a second, so the first puff after a pause tastes the same as the tenth.
  • Cleaner flavour: more even heating means fewer scorched notes and a closer match to the recipe the manufacturer intended.
  • Longer useful life: spreading the heat across the whole mesh reduces the stress on any single point, so the coil lasts longer between fills.

Mesh coils on pod systems generally run at a resistance that suits nicotine salt e-liquid, typically in the region of one ohm, and at modest power. We would not claim a precise wattage or ohm value for this exact pod without being able to verify it, so use these figures as general context only. The practical takeaway is that the coil is tuned for the liquid that comes in the pod, which is another reason to stay with matched refills.

Sweet fruit liquids are harder on a coil than plain tobacco or menthol. The sugars and flavour sweeteners caramelise on the heating surface and leave a gunky film that dulls the taste and shortens coil life. Apple blends are lighter than dessert flavours in this respect, but they are not immune. A few habits help the coil last:

  • Let a new or freshly refilled pod rest for five to ten minutes so the wick saturates fully before the first puff.
  • Take a short pause of 20 to 30 seconds between draws, rather than chain vaping, so the wick can re-wet.
  • Do not let the liquid run below the bottom of the visible level before refilling.
  • Replace the pod at the first sign of a persistent burnt taste instead of trying to push through it.

Signs a coil is failing include a harsh or scorched flavour, noticeably thin vapour, a crackling sound and a pod that seems to burn through liquid unusually quickly. At that point a fresh prefilled pod is the right fix, not a stronger or sweeter refill.

Nicotine strength guidance for UK vapers

Nicotine strength is the single most important choice you will make on this page, and it is a safety question as well as a comfort question. In the UK, e-liquid is capped at 20mg/ml, which is 2% nicotine. That cap applies to disposable-style products, pod cartridges and refill containers alike, so you will never be offered a legal pod stronger than 20mg. The options available on the product page will be at or below that ceiling, commonly including a 20mg choice and one or more lower strengths. Check the variant selector for what is currently in stock.

These pods are designed around nicotine salts, which deliver nicotine more smoothly and with less throat harshness than traditional freebase liquid at the same strength. The effect is that a given milligram figure feels gentler but delivers nicotine more efficiently than you might expect. This is helpful for a smoker who wants to switch, but it also means a high strength is easier to overdo.

A sensible way to choose, offered as general guidance rather than medical advice:

  • 20mg/ml: usually suited to heavier smokers, for example someone who smokes around 15 to 20 cigarettes a day or who has their first cigarette within 30 minutes of waking. It aims to satisfy cravings without needing very frequent puffing.
  • 10mg/ml to 12mg/ml: a common middle point for moderate smokers, or for former heavy smokers who have already cut down and want a gradual step-down.
  • 5mg/ml to 6mg/ml: for lighter smokers, social smokers, or people who find higher strengths harsh and want a gentler throat hit.
  • 0mg/ml: for people who want the habit and flavour with no nicotine, such as vapers who have finished stepping down.

If you are unsure, start one step lower than you think you need. Too little nicotine shows up as persistent cravings, irritability and vaping far more often than you want to. Too much shows up as dizziness, nausea, headache, sweating, a racing heart or a sudden harsh throat hit. If you notice the second group of symptoms, stop vaping, drink water, get some fresh air and choose a lower strength next time.

If you refill the pod from a container, the strength inside the pod becomes whatever the container holds. Always check that the refill container strength matches the pod you started with, and write the strength on a small label if you keep several containers. Mixing strengths accidentally is an easy mistake and it can leave you with a pod that is stronger than you intended.

If you are trying to stop smoking and would like support, the NHS and local stop smoking services offer free advice, and many will help you plan a gradual reduction in nicotine. If you are pregnant, have a heart condition or take regular medication, talk to your GP or pharmacist before using any nicotine product.

Who the SKE Crystal CL6000 Double Apple is for, and who should skip it

No product suits everyone, and we would rather you read this section than buy the wrong thing. Here is an honest breakdown of who tends to be happy with this format and who tends to be disappointed.

This is a sensible fit if you:

  • Are an adult smoker looking for a flavoured, nicotine-containing alternative to cigarettes and want something that feels reasonably close to smoking.
  • Already own, or plan to buy, the matching SKE Crystal CL6000 device and want matched pods and refills in a fruit flavour.
  • Like the idea of paying less per puff by refilling a pod rather than replacing it every time.
  • Want to avoid the waste of single-use devices, which are now banned for sale in the UK, and prefer a reusable body with replaceable parts.
  • Enjoy apple and orchard fruit flavours and want something bright and easy to vape through the day rather than a heavy dessert profile.

You should skip it, or think harder, if you:

  • Are under 18, or are buying on behalf of someone under 18. It is illegal to sell vapes to anyone under 18 and illegal to buy them on their behalf.
  • Have never smoked or vaped. Nicotine is addictive and there is no reason to start.
  • Want large clouds and a warm, airy draw. A restricted pod system will feel tight and underpowered compared with a sub-ohm kit.
  • Want a menthol or ice finish. Double Apple is a straight fruit flavour without cooling in the name.
  • Want zero-effort simplicity. Even with prefilled pods, you have a device to charge and parts to replace, and refilling takes a little care.
  • Own a different device. These pods are for the CL6000 system, so they will not suit another brand's body.
  • Are pregnant, have a heart condition or take regular medication, unless you have first spoken to your GP or pharmacist.

There is also a middle group worth mentioning: people who already use a refillable pod kit with generic 10ml nicotine salt bottles. For them, the CL6000 is a convenience choice rather than an economy choice, because you are paying for a matched, branded system. If cost per millilitre is your top priority and you are comfortable choosing your own liquids, a generic refillable kit will usually be cheaper. If you value matched flavours, a simple routine and a known puff rating, this system makes more sense.

How to use, fill and activate your pods

Getting started is simple, and a few minutes of care at the beginning prevents most of the problems people report later. Follow these steps in order.

First use with a prefilled pod:

  • Charge your device fully before the first use, using a USB-C cable and a standard adapter, and unplug it when the indicator shows it is full.
  • Remove the protective film or cap from the pod, if there is one, and check that the mouthpiece and the base are clean and dry.
  • Push the pod firmly into the device until it clicks or seats flush. Give it a gentle tug to confirm it is secure.
  • Wait five to ten minutes. This lets the e-liquid soak into the wick and coil, and it is the single best way to avoid a dry, burnt first puff.
  • Take your first few draws gently, with slow three-second inhales, then settle into your normal rhythm. There is no button to press on a draw-activated device, so simply inhale on the mouthpiece.

Refilling a pod from the container:

  • Switch the device off or remove the pod, and make sure the pod is empty or close to it.
  • Open the silicone plug on the fill port and keep it somewhere clean.
  • Hold the pod upright and fill slowly from the container, stopping just below the maximum line. Do not overfill, and keep the liquid away from the central airflow tube, because flooding the airway leads to leaks and gurgling.
  • Press the plug back in until it is flush, wipe any spilled liquid from the outside of the pod, and wash your hands.
  • Leave the refilled pod to rest for five to ten minutes before vaping, then seat it in the device as normal.

A few good habits help throughout. Pause for a few seconds between puffs, so the coil can re-wet. Store the device upright, so liquid does not pool around the contacts. Wipe the pod contacts and the device socket with a dry cotton bud now and then, since a thin film of residue is a common reason for patchy firing. Never use water or alcohol on the contacts while a pod is installed.

If you are travelling, keep the device in a case, protect the charging port, and take a sealed spare pod. Pressure changes in a plane cabin can push liquid through a pod, so keep pods upright in a sealed bag, and check airline rules about carrying lithium-ion batteries and liquids before you fly.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most issues with pod systems are small and fixable. Work through the list below before assuming a unit is faulty. If a problem persists after the steps shown, contact us with your order number and a short description or photo, and we will help you work out the next step.

  • No vapour, nothing happens when you inhale. Check that the pod is seated firmly, that the battery is charged, and that the airflow opening is not blocked. Wipe the contacts with a dry cotton bud. Try a slightly firmer draw, since a gentle sip may not trigger the sensor.
  • Burnt or scorched taste. This usually means the wick is dry or the coil is worn. Let the pod rest, make sure there is liquid above the intake, and pause between puffs. If the taste persists, replace the pod. Sweet liquids leave residue that causes burning sooner, so a stale coil is common after several refills.
  • Weak flavour with normal vapour. Often vaper's tongue. Rinse your mouth, take a short break or try another flavour briefly. If a fresh pod tastes the same, the coil is probably spent.
  • Leaking from the pod or device. Check the fill plug is fully seated, that you did not overfill, and that the pod is seated square in the socket. Store the device upright, avoid very hot places and wipe away condensation before you put it back in a bag.
  • Gurgling or spitting. This is usually liquid in the airway, caused by overfilling or condensation. Remove the pod, blow gently through the mouthpiece with the pod upright and dab any liquid away with a tissue.
  • Device will not charge. Try a different cable and adapter, clean lint from the charging port with a dry toothpick, and check that the cable is fully inserted. A device that does not respond to any cable may have a battery fault, so stop using it and contact us.
  • Indicator light flashing. Flash patterns differ between models. A rapid flash usually means low battery, a short circuit, or a pod not seated correctly. Reseat the pod, recharge and check the manufacturer's guide for your device.
  • Harsh throat hit or coughing. Your nicotine strength may be too high for your pattern of use. Try a lower strength, slow your draw and take shorter puffs.
  • Pod runs out far sooner than expected. Long, hard draws, chain vaping and low-strength liquids all use more liquid per puff. A defective pod can also leak internally, so if a sealed pod empties within a day or two, contact us.

If a device becomes hot, swells, smells of burning or smokes, stop using it immediately, move it away from flammable material, and contact the manufacturer or your local fire service advice line. Do not try to repair a lithium-ion device yourself.

Value for money and how it compares with the alternatives

Value is easier to judge when you reduce everything to a cost per puff, or better, a cost per day. Divide the pack price by the rating, then adjust for the fact that real-world puff counts usually fall short of the label. A 6000 puff system that delivers about 4500 real puffs at your price is the number to compare, not the 6000 on the box. If you vape 300 puffs a day, that is around 15 days from the whole system, which makes the daily cost easy to compare with what you currently spend on cigarettes.

The refill container is where the economy comes from. A prefilled pod is convenient but carries the cost of the plastic, the coil and the factory filling in every unit. A refill container carries only liquid, so the cost per millilitre is lower, provided you use the coil sensibly and replace the pod when it tastes burnt. The trade-off is that you invest a little time and care in refilling.

Here is an honest comparison with the main alternatives a UK vaper might weigh up:

  • Closed prefilled pod kits, such as the Elf Bar ELFA style: these use sealed 2ml pods that you swap out and never refill. They are the simplest option, with no mess and nothing to measure, and they suit people who want zero fuss. The downside is a higher cost per millilitre and more plastic waste. If you hate the idea of refilling, a closed kit is the better fit. If you vape a lot, the CL6000 refill route should cost less.
  • Retail-brand closed systems, such as Vuse ePod: well distributed and widely stocked, with consistent quality and a recognisable name. Choice of flavours is narrower and you cannot refill, so running costs tend to stay higher than a refillable approach. They are a good option if you want to buy from a high street shop without thinking about it.
  • Generic refillable pod kits with your own 10ml nicotine salt bottles: devices from brands such as Aspire, Vaporesso and OXVA let you choose any compatible liquid. Running costs per millilitre are usually the lowest, and the flavour range is enormous. The downsides are more decisions to make, more things to carry and a bigger risk of mixing the wrong liquid with the wrong coil. If you like tinkering, these beat the CL6000 on flexibility. If you want a matched, ready-to-go system, the CL6000 is simpler.
  • Single-use disposables: these have been banned for sale in the UK since 1 June 2025, so they are no longer an option from legitimate retailers. If you used to buy 600 or 3000 puff disposables, this pod-and-refill format is the closest sensible replacement, with the advantage that the battery is reused and the waste is far smaller.

Where the SKE Crystal CL6000 Double Apple makes sense is as a middle path: more economical than a closed pod kit, simpler than a fully open refillable system, and offering a flavour that is easy to live with. It is not the cheapest route in every case and it is not the simplest in every case. It is a balanced one, and the right choice if that balance matches how you vape.

Whichever route you take, recycle your hardware responsibly. Used devices and pods belong at an electrical recycling drop-off point or a retailer take-back scheme, not in your household bin.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Zero-mess flavour change — snap in, done
  • Consistent draw from a factory-primed coil
  • Long shelf-life, easy to travel with

Cons

  • Costs more per ml than freestanding e-liquid
  • Pods are proprietary to a specific device
  • Only sold at 20 mg or 10 mg — no lower strengths

Customer Buying Tips

  • Check device compatibility: a pod must match your exact device family (e.g. "Elfa Pro" pods only fit Elfa Pro devices).
  • Store sealed pods upright, below 30 °C — heat and sunlight drain flavour.
  • Rotate flavours: using the same pod flavour back-to-back dulls your palate within a week.
  • Prime the pod for 60 seconds after fitting to avoid a dry hit.

Frequently asked questions

Which nicotine strength should I choose for the SKE Crystal CL6000 Double Apple?

UK law caps nicotine at 20mg/ml, so you will never see anything stronger on sale. As a general guide, heavier smokers of around 15 to 20 cigarettes a day often start at 20mg, moderate smokers at 10mg to 12mg, and light smokers at 5mg or 6mg. If you are unsure, start one step lower, because too much nicotine causes dizziness and nausea while too little just leaves you with cravings.

How do I charge the device, and how long does it take?

Most pod devices of this type charge through a USB-C port using a standard phone-style adapter or a computer port. A full charge usually takes about one to two hours, and an indicator light will show when it is done. Do not leave it charging unattended or overnight, and stop using any device that gets hot, swells or smells of burning.

Can I swap flavours, or refill a Double Apple pod with a different liquid?

You can, but it is not a good idea. The wick holds on to the previous flavour, so you get a muddled mix, and a different nicotine strength changes what you are actually inhaling. For the cleanest taste, keep each pod to one flavour and strength, and buy a separate pod when you want a change. Other SKE flavours are on our SKE brand page.

How long will the pods and refill containers last?

The 6000 puff rating is a manufacturer estimate, and real-world counts are usually lower, so plan around 4000 to 6000 puffs. At around 300 puffs a day that is roughly two to three weeks, while a lighter user could stretch it to a month or more. Long draws, chain vaping and lower nicotine strengths all use liquid faster.

Is the SKE Crystal CL6000 Double Apple good value?

It is a middle path. Refilling a pod from the container lowers the cost per puff compared with buying a sealed prefilled pod every time, but a generic refillable kit with your own 10ml bottles is usually cheaper still. To compare fairly, divide the price by about 4500 real puffs rather than the 6000 on the label, and compare that with what you spend on cigarettes.

Who should and should not buy this product?

It suits adult smokers who want a fruit-flavoured pod system with lower running costs than closed pods, and who already have or plan to buy the matching CL6000 device. It is not suitable for under 18s, non-smokers, or anyone wanting menthol cooling, large clouds or a device from another brand. If you are pregnant or have a heart condition, speak to your GP first.

Do you deliver to the UK and is age verification required?

Yes, we deliver across the UK. You must be 18 or over to buy, and the carrier or our checks may ask for proof of age on order or delivery. Current delivery options, costs and timings are listed on our delivery information page, so check there before you order.

What if my pod arrives faulty or damaged?

Contact us as soon as possible with your order number and a clear photo of the problem, such as a cracked pod, a leaking container or a pod that will not fire. We will help you with a replacement or refund under our returns policy. For hygiene and age-control reasons, sealed e-liquid products that are unopened and not faulty may not be eligible for return, so check the policy page for the details.

Can I use these pods in any SKE device?

No. These pods and refill containers are designed for the SKE Crystal CL6000 system. A pod that looks similar may not seat properly, may not make electrical contact, or may leak. If you are not sure whether your device is compatible, message us before ordering and we will check.

How should I dispose of old pods and the device?

Do not put them in your household bin or kerbside recycling, because the lithium-ion battery in the device can cause fires. Take the device to the small electricals bank at a household recycling centre, use a retailer take-back scheme, or find a drop-off point through the Recycle Your Electricals website. Ask your local council about empty pods.
