Slush Brew Blue Mix 10ml 18mg: what you are buying

Slush Brew by Ohm Brew in Blue Mix is a 10ml bottle of nicotine e-liquid sold at 18mg/ml. It sits in the Slush Brew range from Ohm Brew, a line built around frozen-drink flavours: sweet fruit bases finished with a cold, crushed-ice style kick. Blue Mix is the blue-fruit entry in that lineup, and as the name suggests it is a blended blue profile rather than a single-note flavour. If you have ever drunk a blue slush from a cinema counter or a seaside kiosk, the general direction will be familiar.

This is a refill liquid, not a ready-to-use device. You pour it into a refillable tank, a refillable pod or a similar vape kit that you already own. That distinction matters in the UK. Single-use disposable vapes have been banned from sale since June 2025, so bottled e-liquid plus a rechargeable kit is now the normal route for adult smokers who want to switch, and for existing vapers who want flavour variety without throwing hardware away every few days.

  • Bottle size: 10ml, which is the maximum bottle size allowed for nicotine e-liquid in the UK
  • Nicotine strength: 18mg/ml (1.8%), which sits under the UK limit of 20mg/ml
  • Total nicotine in the bottle: 180mg (10ml x 18mg/ml)
  • Flavour: Blue Mix, a sweet blue-fruit slush profile with a cool finish
  • Brand and range: Ohm Brew, Slush Brew
  • Format: refill liquid for tanks and pods, not a standalone vape
  • Age: 18+ only

Everything below is written for UK buyers and is based on the product listing, the 10ml bottle format and the way this style of liquid behaves in common devices. Always read the label on the bottle you receive, because the label is the final word on ingredients, the VG/PG ratio and the nicotine formulation. Nicotine e-liquid is for adults who already smoke or vape. It is not for non-smokers, and it is not for anyone under 18.

Flavour profile: what Blue Mix tastes like

Blue Mix follows the template that most blue slush e-liquids use. The lead note is a sweet, slightly tart blue fruit, the sort of flavour you would describe as blue raspberry or mixed blue berries rather than a specific, identifiable fruit. Behind it there is usually a softer, rounder berry layer that stops the top note tasting purely like sweet syrup. These descriptions are our reading of the profile and the range style, and individual perception varies, so treat them as a guide rather than a guarantee.

The slush element is the cooling. Slush-style liquids use a light cooling agent to mimic the cold of shaved ice. In most of these recipes that is a gentle chill on the exhale rather than the sharp, minty blast you get from a dedicated menthol or ice liquid. If you normally avoid menthol because it feels harsh, a slush finish tends to be easier to live with, but it is still a cool sensation and you will notice it, especially on the first few puffs of a fresh tank.

  • On the inhale: sweet blue fruit, with a hint of sharpness that keeps it from feeling flat
  • On the exhale: the berry notes soften and the cooling effect builds across the back of the tongue
  • Aftertaste: a clean, lightly sweet finish with a faint chill that fades within a few seconds
  • Sweetness level: medium to high, as you would expect from a dessert-drink style flavour

Flavour also changes with the device. At low power in a mouth-to-lung pod, the fruit tends to come through cleanly and the cooling is subtle. Turn the wattage up and the cooling gets sharper while the sweetness can start to taste cooked. If the flavour seems muted at first, give a fresh fill ten minutes to soak into the coil, shake the bottle gently before filling, and avoid judging it after a single puff. A liquid that tastes fine at the start of the bottle and dull by the end is often a sign of a tired coil, not a problem with the liquid itself.

If you like your fruit flavours dry and sour, Blue Mix may feel too sweet. If you like candy, soft drinks and slush-machine flavours, it is aimed squarely at you.

Throat hit and vapour at 18mg

The number on the bottle, 18mg/ml, tells you how much nicotine is in each millilitre of liquid. It does not tell you how it will feel, because that depends on two other things: whether the nicotine is freebase or a nicotine salt, and the VG/PG ratio of the base. Check the label for both. They change the experience a lot.

  • If it is freebase nicotine: 18mg is a firm strength. Expect a noticeable throat hit, which is the scratchy warmth at the back of the throat that many ex-smokers find familiar and satisfying. It suits low-power mouth-to-lung devices and is usually too strong for high-power sub-ohm use.
  • If it is a nicotine salt: the same number feels smoother on the throat but delivers nicotine to the bloodstream more quickly. Salts are designed for low-power pods, and a user who is not used to them can find 18mg more intense than the throat feel suggests.
  • Higher PG base: more throat hit, sharper flavour, thinner vapour
  • Higher VG base: smoother inhale, thicker vapour, slightly softer flavour

Vapour production is mostly down to your device, not just the liquid. In a mouth-to-lung pod kit you will get a modest amount of vapour that is closer to smoking in feel. In a restricted direct-to-lung tank, you will get more. As a general rule, 18mg is a strength for people who want a cigarette-like hit from a small, low-power device. It is not a strength designed for large clouds. Pushing a high-nicotine liquid through a powerful sub-ohm kit delivers a lot of nicotine very quickly, and the usual result is dizziness, nausea or a headache rather than a better experience.

To put the numbers in context, the whole 10ml bottle holds 180mg of nicotine. A typical 2ml pod holds 36mg at this strength, and a 3ml tank holds 54mg. You will not consume all of that in a sitting, but it is a useful reminder that e-liquid is a concentrated product and that bottles should be stored out of reach of children and pets.

Bottle design, packaging and build quality

With e-liquid, build quality means the bottle, the cap and the labelling rather than a casing or a battery. The Slush Brew Blue Mix comes in a standard 10ml plastic bottle with a narrow nozzle, which is the format UK rules require for nicotine refills. The narrow tip fits most pod fill ports and tank fill holes, and the soft plastic lets you control the flow by squeezing gently rather than tipping the bottle upside down and hoping.

  • Child-resistant cap: the cap needs a push-and-turn motion to open. It can be fiddly with wet or oily hands, but that is the point of it.
  • Tamper-evident seal: a ring or seal that breaks on first opening, so you can see the bottle has not been opened before it reached you
  • Warning label: UK regulations require health warnings, an ingredients list, a batch number and nicotine strength on the pack. You will find these on the bottle or box.
  • Nozzle: thin enough for pod fill ports, which are often only a few millimetres across

On arrival, check that the seal is intact, the cap closes properly and the label is readable. A damaged, leaking or unsealed bottle should be photographed and reported to us rather than used.

Storage is straightforward. Keep the bottle upright, in a cool place away from direct sunlight and heat, with the cap fully closed. Heat and light degrade both flavour and nicotine over time, which is why a bottle left on a car dashboard or a sunny windowsill tastes noticeably different within weeks. Stored sensibly, a sealed bottle will usually stay in good condition for the best-before date printed on the label. Once opened, aim to use it within a few months for the sake of flavour.

When the bottle is empty, drain it fully, close the cap and follow your local council guidance for plastic recycling. Rules for small plastic bottles differ between councils, so check before putting it in the kerbside bin. Never pour leftover e-liquid down a drain or onto the ground. Your device, battery and spent coils are a different matter: they count as electrical waste and should go to a household waste recycling centre or a retailer take-back point, not into general rubbish or kerbside recycling.

Which devices suit Slush Brew Blue Mix, and why the battery matters

Because this is a liquid rather than a device, the question that matters is what you put it in. At 18mg, the right match is a low-power, restricted-airflow device. That means a refillable pod kit, an all-in-one (AIO) kit or a small mouth-to-lung tank. These are the kits that use coils in the 0.8 to 1.2 ohm range and run at roughly 8 to 20 watts, depending on the coil.

  • Refillable pod kits: the most common home for 18mg liquid. Small, simple, and very forgiving. Batteries are usually between 400mAh and 1,000mAh and charge by USB-C.
  • AIO and pen-style kits: slightly larger batteries and a bigger tank, so fewer refills and charges through the day
  • Mouth-to-lung tanks on a small mod: flexible if you like adjusting wattage, though many vapers find the fixed power of a pod easier
  • Sub-ohm tanks: not recommended at this strength. They are built for lower nicotine and bigger airflow.

Battery capacity matters more than people expect. A kit with a 600mAh to 1,000mAh battery will usually last a moderate user most of a day, but a nearly flat battery gives weaker vapour and a duller flavour from sweet liquids like this one, because the coil does not heat to its target temperature. If the taste fades late in the day, charge before you blame the liquid.

Charging is simple, but it is worth doing properly. Use the cable that came with the device, plug it into a standard 5V USB adapter or computer port, and do not leave the device charging unattended for long periods or overnight. Do not charge a device that is wet, damaged or swollen. Lithium batteries are safe when treated sensibly and problematic when they are not. A modest charge from a quality adapter is the safest habit.

If you are moving over from a disposable, note that disposables hid all of these decisions behind a sealed casing. With a refillable kit, you choose the battery size, the coil and the liquid, which gives you control but also means a small learning curve on your first fill.

Coil and wick behaviour with a sweet blue liquid

Coils and mesh are where sweet liquids make their mark. Slush and dessert-style flavours generally contain more sweeteners than tobacco or plain fruit recipes, and sweeteners caramelise on a hot coil. The result is a darker, sticky residue that dulls flavour and eventually causes a burnt taste. That is not a fault of Blue Mix in particular, it is how sweet e-liquids behave across the board, and it is why coil life with these flavours is usually shorter.

  • Standard round-wire coils (Kanthal or stainless steel): common in pods and mouth-to-lung tanks. Good flavour at low power, but can foul faster with sweet liquids. Expect roughly one to two weeks of regular use.
  • Mesh coils: a flat sheet of mesh with a larger surface area. They heat more evenly and tend to give fuller flavour, but they can also hold more sweetener residue. Life is often similar or slightly longer.
  • Ceramic coils: common in closed pods. They are stable and clean-tasting, though they can be sensitive to very thick or very sweet liquids.

For best results, match the coil to the nicotine strength. Higher-resistance coils (1.0 to 1.2 ohm) at lower wattage suit 18mg freebase and give a tighter, more cigarette-like draw. Lower-resistance coils (0.6 to 0.8 ohm) at moderate wattage suit nicotine salts. Using a very low-resistance coil with 18mg liquid is the most common cause of a harsh hit.

Priming matters. A brand-new coil is dry cotton. If you fill the tank and start puffing straight away, the wick will not be saturated and you will get a dry hit, a burnt, scorched taste that can ruin a coil in one go. Fill the tank or pod, wait five to ten minutes, then take a few gentle, short puffs without firing at full power. Keep the liquid above the minimum line, because running a tank nearly empty is another quick way to scorch cotton.

Watch for the signs of a tired coil: flavour that was bright last week now tastes flat, a faint burnt note, gurgling, or spitting. Change the coil rather than adding more power. Pushing the wattage to compensate burns the remaining wick faster. Chain-vaping long, hot puffs is another way to shorten coil life, since the wick cannot keep up with the demand.

Nicotine strength guidance: is 18mg right for you?

Nicotine e-liquid in the UK is capped at 20mg/ml. Common freebase steps are 3mg, 6mg, 12mg and 18mg, and nicotine salts commonly sit at 10mg and 20mg. At 18mg, Blue Mix is at the upper end of the range. That is deliberate, because it is aimed at smokers who need a strong match for cigarettes, but it is not the right place for everyone to start.

  • Heavy smokers (around 15 or more cigarettes a day, first cigarette soon after waking): 18mg freebase in a low-power mouth-to-lung kit is a reasonable starting point. Some of these smokers do better on nicotine salts instead.
  • Moderate smokers (roughly 8 to 15 a day): 12mg is often enough, and 18mg may feel too sharp
  • Light or social smokers: 6mg is usually plenty. 18mg is likely to be too strong.
  • Existing vapers on nicotine salts: check how your current liquid is formulated before assuming 18mg is a like-for-like swap
  • Anyone using a sub-ohm or high-power device: choose a much lower strength, typically 3mg or 6mg

Signs that your strength is too high include dizziness, nausea, a pounding or racing heartbeat, headaches, sweating, or a throat that feels raw after only a few puffs. If you notice any of these, put the device down, drink water and try a lower strength next time. Signs that your strength is too low are less dramatic: you keep reaching for a real cigarette, you vape constantly and still feel unsatisfied, or the cravings return within a short time.

The practical approach is to start at the strength that stops you smoking, and then step down gradually once you are comfortable. Many people go from 18mg to 12mg to 6mg over a period of months. There is no prize for going down fast. A strength that keeps you off cigarettes is better than one that is too low and sends you back to them.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a heart condition, or are taking medication, speak to a pharmacist or GP before using any nicotine product. UK stop-smoking services can also provide free support and advice on switching.

Who Slush Brew Blue Mix is for, and who should skip it

Blue Mix suits a fairly specific type of vaper. If you recognise yourself in the first list, it is a sensible pick. If you recognise yourself in the second, a different flavour or strength will serve you better.

A good fit if you:

  • are an adult smoker trying to switch and need a higher nicotine strength to make it stick
  • use a low-power pod kit or AIO and want a refill that matches it
  • enjoy sweet, cold, soft-drink style flavours rather than tobacco or plain menthol
  • are coming off disposables and want a familiar, fruity, easy-to-vape flavour in a refillable format
  • like to keep two or three flavours on rotation and want a blue-fruit option among them

Probably not for you if you:

  • do not currently smoke or vape. Nicotine is addictive and non-smokers should not start.
  • are under 18. It is illegal to sell nicotine products to anyone under 18, and we will not do so.
  • prefer dry, sour or tobacco flavours. Blue Mix is sweet and fruit-forward.
  • use a sub-ohm tank at high wattage. Choose a lower-strength liquid designed for that style of vaping.
  • are sensitive to cooling agents. The slush finish is gentle but still noticeable.
  • are pregnant or have a cardiovascular condition and have not taken medical advice

It also helps to be honest about your habits. Someone who takes a handful of puffs a day will find a 10ml bottle lasts a long time, and may be better off with a lower strength. Someone who vapes constantly through the day will get through it quickly and may want to buy multiple bottles at once to avoid running out. Neither of these is wrong, but they are different use cases, and the strength should follow the habit rather than the other way around.

How to fill and use it: step by step

If you are new to refillable vaping, the process is simple once you have done it a couple of times. Take your time on the first fill and the rest will become routine.

  • Step 1: Prepare. Wash and dry your hands. Make sure the device is switched off, ideally with the battery or pod removed from the body if the design allows it.
  • Step 2: Open the fill port. For pods, pull out the rubber bung or slide the cover. For tanks, follow the manufacturer's method (top-fill sliding cap, or unscrew the top).
  • Step 3: Open the bottle. Push down and twist the child-resistant cap. Keep the bottle upright while you do so.
  • Step 4: Fill slowly. Place the nozzle into the fill port and squeeze gently. Fill to just below the max line. Do not fill over the central airflow tube, as this floods the coil and causes leaks and gurgling.
  • Step 5: Close up. Replace the bung or cap, wipe away spills, close the bottle tightly and put it away.
  • Step 6: Wait. Leave the device standing for five to ten minutes to let the wick soak. This is especially important with a new coil.
  • Step 7: Start gently. Take a few short puffs at low power first. If your device has adjustable wattage, begin at the lower end of the coil's recommended range.

For daily use, take slow, steady draws of two to three seconds. With a mouth-to-lung device, draw into your mouth first, pause, then inhale. With a restricted direct-to-lung style, inhale straight to the lungs. Pause between puffs to let the coil re-wet. Constant, rapid puffing is the quickest way to burn a wick.

Do not mix Blue Mix with other nicotine liquids to create your own strength unless you know exactly what you are doing and are confident of the maths. Do not add flavour concentrates or additives to a ready-made liquid. Never top up a tank with different flavours without cleaning, as old liquid residue can create unpredictable tastes. Finally, never vape while driving, near children, or anywhere that prohibits it, and respect the rules of the places you visit.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most problems with refillable vaping have simple causes. Before deciding that a liquid is faulty, run through this list.

  • Burnt or scorched taste: usually a dry hit from a coil that is not saturated, a tank that has run low, or a coil that is past its life. Refill, wait ten minutes, take gentle puffs, and replace the coil if the taste stays.
  • Weak or flat flavour: check the battery, check the liquid level, and consider a fresh coil. Sweet liquids foul coils faster than most. Also consider vaper's tongue, a temporary dulling of taste after using one flavour for a long time. Switching to a different flavour for a day or two usually resets it.
  • Gurgling or spitting: too much liquid in the chamber. Wipe the mouthpiece, tip the device upside down and blow gently through it, then try again.
  • Leaking: over-filling, a loose pod or tank connection, or a damaged seal. Check that the pod is seated firmly, the bung is in place and the liquid level is below the max line. Keep the device upright when carrying it.
  • Harsh throat hit: the strength may be too high for your device or habit. Try lowering the wattage, using a higher-resistance coil, or switching to a lower nicotine strength.
  • Dizziness, nausea or headache: stop vaping, take fresh air and water, and use a lower strength next time. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.
  • No vapour at all: check the battery, the connection contacts, whether the device is locked or switched off, and whether there is liquid in the pod. Clean the contacts with a dry cotton bud if they are dirty.
  • Cooling feels too sharp: turn the wattage down. High power intensifies the cooling effect.

If you have tried these steps and something still seems wrong with the bottle itself, such as an unusual smell, separation, a broken seal or leaking from the bottle, stop using it and contact us with your order number and a photo. We would rather replace a faulty bottle than have you persist with a bad one.

Value for money: how long does 10ml last?

Value with e-liquid comes down to cost per millilitre, how fast you vape, and how much you spend on coils and power. A 10ml bottle is the standard UK size for nicotine refills, so it is easy to compare against other 10ml options. What it means in terms of time depends on you.

  • Light use (around 1ml a day): a bottle lasts about ten days
  • Moderate use (around 2ml a day): about five days
  • Heavy use (around 4ml a day): about two and a half days

Those figures are a guide rather than a promise, since people vary and so do devices. As a benchmark, a single-use disposable held no more than 2ml of liquid under UK rules, so one 10ml bottle contains the same amount of liquid as five legal-limit disposables. Add the cost of a reusable kit and a few coils over a month and refillable vaping usually works out significantly cheaper than buying a disposable every couple of days. It also produces much less electrical waste.

Compared with smoking, the saving is larger still. A pack of 20 cigarettes now costs well over £15 in the UK, and a regular smoker can spend hundreds of pounds a month. Switching to a refillable kit generally costs a small fraction of that, even allowing for bottles, coils and the odd replacement pod. The price that matters is the one you pay across a month, not the price of a single bottle.

A few habits stretch the value further. Keep your wattage within the coil's range, because higher power uses liquid faster. Replace coils when they tire rather than when they fail, so you are not wasting liquid through a worn wick. Store the bottle properly so it does not degrade. And buy the nicotine strength you actually need: if 12mg would do, there is no benefit in paying for 18mg and then taking shorter draws to compensate.

At 18mg, Blue Mix is a purposeful choice rather than a bargain-bin filler. If you are unsure whether you will like the flavour, a single 10ml bottle is a low-commitment way to find out before buying several.

How it compares with other ways to vape

Slush Brew Blue Mix is one option among several, and being honest about where it fits is more useful than pretending it suits everyone. Here is how the 10ml 18mg format stacks up against the main alternatives.

  • 10ml nicotine salts (typically 10mg or 20mg): smoother at higher strengths and tuned for low-power pods. If you are used to salts and find 18mg freebase too rough, a salt may feel better. If you prefer a firmer throat hit, 18mg freebase is closer to a cigarette.
  • 50ml shortfills (0mg with room for nicotine shots): cheaper per millilitre and built for sub-ohm tanks. They need a mixing step and take up more space. They suit people who want bigger clouds at lower strengths, and they do not suit a small pod kit.
  • Prefilled and replaceable pods: convenient and tidy, with no bottle to handle. The trade-off is that you are locked into whatever flavours the pod maker offers, and the cost per millilitre is generally higher.
  • Former disposables: easy, but no longer sold in the UK. They were also limited to 2ml, wasteful to recycle and costly over time.
  • Other blue slush or blue raspberry e-liquids: the category is crowded, and the broad flavour direction is similar across brands. The differences are mostly in sweetness, how strong the cooling is, and the VG/PG ratio. If you want something drier or more menthol-forward, a dedicated ice or menthol liquid will suit you better than a slush profile.

Where Blue Mix makes sense is as a sweet, cold, easy-going blue flavour at a strength that suits smokers who need more than a token amount of nicotine. Where it does not make sense is as a first bottle for someone who has never smoked, as a liquid for a high-power sub-ohm setup, or for anyone who dislikes sweet, cooling flavours.

If you want to stay flexible, a sensible approach is to keep one or two flavours you know you like in the strength that works, and try a single bottle of anything new before committing to more. Blue Mix is a reasonable candidate for the fruit-and-ice slot in that rotation.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Best value per ml in the category
  • Choose your own device and coil
  • Available in a wide strength ladder

Cons

  • Refilling can leak if you overfill
  • Coil priming has a small learning curve
  • You handle the bottle — less discreet than pods

Customer Buying Tips

  • Match the strength to how much you smoked: 20+/day → 10-20 mg nic salt; 10/day → 10 mg; under 5/day → 3-6 mg freebase.
  • Match the ratio to your device: pod kits take 50/50, sub-ohm tanks take 70/30 shortfill.
  • Don't overfill: leaving the airhole clear prevents gurgling and leaking.
  • Shake before use so the nicotine and flavour integrate evenly.

Frequently asked questions

Is 18mg the right nicotine strength for me?

18mg is the top end of the usual freebase range and is aimed at heavier smokers using a low-power mouth-to-lung kit. If you smoke fewer than around ten cigarettes a day, or you plan to use a sub-ohm tank, a lower strength such as 6mg or 12mg is usually a better fit. The UK limit is 20mg/ml, so this sits just under the cap.

Does this e-liquid need charging?

No, the liquid itself needs nothing. Charging applies to your vape kit, which normally charges by USB-C from a standard 5V adapter. Charge before the battery goes flat, avoid leaving it on charge unattended for long periods, and weak vapour late in the day is often a sign of a low battery rather than a liquid problem.

Can I get Blue Mix in other strengths or try other Slush Brew flavours?

The Slush Brew range from Ohm Brew includes other slush-style flavours, and strength options vary by flavour. Check the product listing for the options currently in stock, since availability can change. If you want a milder version of Blue Mix, look for a lower nicotine strength in the same flavour.

How long does a 10ml bottle last?

A light user may take around ten days to finish a bottle, a moderate user about five days, and a heavy user two to three days. It depends on your device, your wattage and how often you vape. As a comparison, one 10ml bottle holds the same liquid as five legal-limit 2ml disposables.

Is it good value compared with disposables or cigarettes?

Refillable vaping is typically much cheaper than both. A single 10ml bottle supplies days of use, and single-use disposables have been banned from sale in the UK since June 2025 anyway. Your running costs are bottles plus an occasional coil, which is far below the cost of a regular smoking habit.

Who should and shouldn't buy this?

It suits adult smokers and existing vapers who like sweet, cool, blue-fruit flavours and use a low-power refillable kit. It is not for non-smokers, anyone under 18, people who dislike sweet or cooling flavours, or those using high-power sub-ohm devices. If you are pregnant or have a heart condition, take medical advice before using nicotine.

Can I use it in a sub-ohm tank?

It is not recommended. Sub-ohm tanks deliver far more liquid per puff, and at 18mg that means a large dose of nicotine very quickly, which commonly causes dizziness and nausea. Use a mouth-to-lung pod, AIO or similar restricted-airflow device, or choose a much lower strength for sub-ohm vaping.

Do you deliver across the UK?

Yes, we deliver to UK addresses, and you must be 18 or over to buy. Delivery options, costs and estimated timings are shown at checkout for your postcode. We may ask for age verification, and orders containing nicotine products can only be handed over to adults.

What is your returns and warranty policy for e-liquid?

Because e-liquid is a consumable, opened bottles cannot normally be returned for hygiene and safety reasons. If a bottle arrives damaged, leaking, wrongly labelled or with a broken seal, contact us with your order number and a photo and we will arrange a replacement or refund. Warranty on hardware applies to devices, not to liquids.

How should I store it and recycle the empty bottle?

Store it upright with the cap closed, in a cool place out of sunlight and out of reach of children and pets. Once empty, close the cap and follow your local council's guidance for plastic recycling. Devices, batteries and used coils should go to a household waste recycling centre or a retailer take-back point, not general rubbish.

Delivery was super fast and the product is genuine. I've had fakes before so this was a relief.

Multibuy deal was a bargain

Pleasantly surprised. Was expecting it to be average but it's actually really nice. Recommended.

Really pleased with this

Really nice flavour — not too sweet, not too harsh. Perfect in the middle. Second order already placed.
