The Red Apple Ice Suonon Pro X 12K Refill Pods by Suonon in Red Apple Ice at 10mg and 20mg. Free UK delivery over £20, same-day dispatch on weekday orders before 4pm.

Overview: Suonon Pro X 12K Refill Pods in Red Apple Ice

The Suonon Pro X 12K Refill Pods in Red Apple Ice are replacement pods for the Suonon Pro X pod system. They are a consumable part: you keep the rechargeable device you already own, take out the empty pod and click in a fresh, pre-filled one. This page covers the pod only, so a compatible Suonon Pro X device is needed to use it. If you are not sure that your hardware is a match, check the model name printed on the base of the device or on its box before you order, because pods are generally not interchangeable between brands, and sometimes not between different ranges from the same brand.

The flavour is Red Apple Ice, a crisp red apple taste finished with a cool exhale. It belongs to the fruit-and-ice group of flavours that many UK adults who have moved away from cigarettes tend to settle on, because it tastes fresh and does not leave a heavy, sugary coating on the tongue the way some dessert and candy profiles can. Everything is sealed at the factory, so there is nothing to fill, drip, mix or measure.

The reason pods like this have grown in popularity is partly regulatory and partly practical. Single-use disposable vapes were banned from sale in Great Britain from 1 June 2025, and before that ban the UK limit of 20mg/ml nicotine applied to them in exactly the same way it applies to pods today. A reusable device with a replaceable pod keeps the pocket-sized convenience of a disposable while producing less electronic waste, because only the small pod is thrown away each time rather than a whole battery and circuit board.

Below we go through the specifications, flavour, real-world performance, build, battery, coil, nicotine strength, who the pod is and is not for, how to use it, what to do when something goes wrong, and how the value stacks up against alternatives. Where a figure is not printed on the listing we say so rather than guess. These products are for adults only: you must be 18+ to buy, and they are intended for adult smokers and existing vapers, not for non-smokers or anyone under 18. Nicotine is addictive.

Specifications at a glance

Spec sheets on vape packaging can be vague, so here is what we can say with reasonable confidence about this pod, and where you should read the printed pack before relying on a number.

  • Product type: a closed, pre-filled replacement pod for the Suonon Pro X system. It is not designed to be refilled by the user.
  • Flavour: Red Apple Ice.
  • Headline puff rating: 12K, the 12,000-puff figure that gives the range its name. It is a manufacturer rating for the range, not a guarantee for one pod.
  • E-liquid capacity: UK rules cap the size of a pod or tank at 2ml, so a pod sold for the UK market should hold no more than that. The exact figure is printed on the pod or pack.
  • Nicotine strength: the UK maximum is 20mg/ml, which is 2%. This is the same cap that applied to disposables. The strengths offered appear on the product listing.
  • Nicotine type: pods in this class normally use nicotine salts, which feel smoother at higher strengths than traditional freebase nicotine. Confirm on the pack.
  • Coil: pods of this type use a mesh coil with a cotton wick. We do not quote a resistance figure, because it is not something we can verify from the listing.
  • Battery: none in the pod. The rechargeable cell is in the Pro X device, and devices of this kind generally sit in a rough 500 to 1000mAh range, which is an estimate and not a stated specification.
  • Compatibility: built for the Suonon Pro X device. Not intended for other brands.
  • Age restriction: 18+ only, with age checks as part of the order and delivery process.

A sensible way to read this list is to treat everything about the pod itself (flavour, nicotine strength, capacity) as something you confirm against the pack, and everything about the device (battery, charging port, charging time) as something you confirm against the device manual. Keeping those two apart avoids most of the confusion people have when they buy a refill for the first time.

Flavour profile: Red Apple Ice

Red Apple Ice follows a simple formula, and it does it cleanly. Here is how the flavour tends to unfold across one draw.

  • On the inhale: a bright, juicy red apple that leans towards a crisp eating apple rather than a baked apple, a cider note or a sweet toffee apple. There is a light tartness at the front that stops the sweetness from becoming heavy.
  • In the middle: a rounded, slightly sweet apple-juice character. Fruit pods in this class often add a touch of sweetener to smooth the edges, and this profile sits at a medium sweetness level rather than the very sweet end.
  • On the exhale: the ice. Expect a cool, clean chill across the tongue and the back of the throat. This sort of cooling usually comes from a cooling agent rather than peppermint oil, so it feels cold more than it tastes minty. Fresh mint is a separate flavour in the same range.

The cooling effect is noticeable but not aggressive. If you find strong menthol harsh, you are likely to find this comfortable, and if you want a very icy blast, it may feel mild. Cooling also changes with temperature: the chill feels stronger when you vape in cold weather or straight after a drink of something cold, and softer when the device has been warm in a pocket.

Red Apple Ice suits people who want a flavour they can vape through the day without it feeling cloying. Heavy dessert flavours are the ones most associated with palate fatigue, sometimes called vaper's tongue, when a taste seems to fade after a few hours. Apple and ice profiles generally hold up better, though nobody is immune. If the flavour does seem to go flat, swap to a different pod for a couple of days before you decide that anything is wrong with the pod.

Within the Pro X 12K line there are other directions to choose from if this is not quite right for you. Blue Razz Lemonade is sharper and more sour, Cherry Cola is a sweet soft-drink flavour, Cotton Candy is plainly sugary, and Fresh Mint is a pure cooling profile with no fruit. Red Apple Ice sits in the middle of that spread: fruit-forward with a fresh finish.

Performance and puff delivery

Start with the headline figure. The 12K in the name stands for 12,000 puffs. Puff counts on vape packaging come from machine testing at a fixed draw length and rhythm, and a machine knows nothing about how you actually vape. Use the number to compare products in the same class, not as a promise about how many puffs your own pod will give.

The plain arithmetic goes like this. A mesh-coil pod commonly delivers somewhere around 500 to 800 puffs from each 2ml of liquid, depending on draw length, how often you vape and how the device is set. Because 2ml is the largest pod capacity the UK allows, a single pod made for the UK market cannot physically reach 12,000 puffs. The 12K figure is better read as the headline rating of the Pro X range, and the number to plan around for one pod is whatever per-pod figure is printed on the pack. We would rather tell you this directly than let you expect twelve thousand puffs from one click-in cartridge.

In everyday use, expect the following from a fresh pod in a compatible Pro X device.

  • Draw feel: a restricted, mouth-to-lung pull, closer to drawing on a cigarette than to the open, airy draw of a sub-ohm tank. Slow draws of two to three seconds work best.
  • Vapour: moderate. Pods like this are tuned for flavour and throat feel rather than large clouds, which also makes them more discreet.
  • Throat hit: mostly set by the nicotine strength you choose. Nicotine salts at 20mg/ml give a firm hit, lower strengths are softer, and the cooling note in Red Apple Ice adds a crisp sensation on top of either.
  • Consistency: a well-made pod tastes much the same at the start and the middle. Flavour usually thins a little in the final stretch of the liquid, and the coil can start to taste dry or toasted when the pod is nearly empty.

Two habits change how long a pod lasts more than anything else. The first is chain vaping, which overheats the coil, flattens the flavour and drains the liquid faster. The second is draw length: a long, hard pull uses far more liquid than a short, gentle one. Pace yourself and a pod will last noticeably longer for the same money.

Design and build quality

A refill pod is a small moulded plastic cartridge, so the design that matters is functional rather than decorative. Pods of this type typically have a clear or tinted window so you can see the remaining liquid, a moulded mouthpiece at the top, an air inlet at or near the base, and contacts or a magnetic connection that link the pod to the device. The pod does not carry a battery, which keeps it light and means the part you throw away contains no lithium cell.

For something you replace regularly, build quality comes down to three things: the seal, the fit and the finish.

  • The seal. The liquid chamber should be completely closed, with no film of e-liquid around the base or the mouthpiece when you take the pod out of its packaging. A tiny bit of condensation is normal. A wet pod that is visibly leaking is not, and should be reported to us.
  • The fit. A pod should seat firmly, with a click or a snug stop, and stay put when the device is tipped or knocked. If it rocks, take it out and reseat it. A poor connection is the most common reason for a pod that will not fire.
  • The finish. Look for clean mouthpiece edges with no burrs, and for small plastic plugs or stickers over the mouthpiece and air inlet. These must be removed before use. Leave them on and the pod will not draw.

How you handle the pod affects how long it stays in good condition. Keep pods and the device upright when you can, avoid leaving them in a hot car or against your body in a pocket for hours, and store spare pods somewhere cool and dry. Heat softens seals and thins the liquid, which is when leaks tend to appear. Because the pod is closed, never try to prise it open or top it up. You can damage the coil and the seal, and you can end up with e-liquid on your skin.

Keep pods, devices and spare liquid away from children and pets. E-liquid containing nicotine is poisonous if swallowed, and a sealed pod is still a small object that should not be within reach of a child.

Battery and charging

The pod has no battery of its own. The power comes from the rechargeable lithium-ion cell inside the Suonon Pro X device. We do not quote an exact capacity here, because that figure belongs to the hardware rather than to this pod, and it is best read from the device box or manual. For context, compact pod devices in this class are generally built around a cell somewhere between 500 and 1000mAh and recharge over USB-C. Treat that range as an informed estimate, not a specification of your particular model.

Manufacturers tend to balance battery size against pod size so that one full charge covers a decent share of one pod. A common pattern is to recharge about once per pod, or once every other pod for lighter users, but that is a rule of thumb and not a measured result. Your own habits matter far more than the numbers on any box.

Good charging habits protect the battery and reduce the chance of problems with the device.

  • Use a standard 5V USB charger, such as a phone charger or a computer port, together with a decent USB-C cable. Avoid unbranded chargers of unknown origin.
  • Do not leave the device charging unattended, and do not charge it overnight on a bed, sofa or any other soft surface.
  • Unplug it when the indicator shows it is full. Most devices change light colour or stop flashing.
  • Do not charge a device that is damaged, swollen, unusually hot or that smells strange. Stop using it and take it to a recycling point.
  • Charge when it is convenient rather than running it flat every time, and keep it out of direct sun and away from radiators.

The battery is also the reason a finished device should never go in the household bin. Lithium cells can start fires in bin lorries and recycling plants. When the device eventually reaches the end of its life, use one of the drop-off routes described in the usage section further down.

Coil and mesh technology

Inside the pod is a coil, which is a heating element pressed against an absorbent cotton wick. When you draw, the device sends current to the coil, the coil heats up, and the liquid held in the cotton turns to vapour. In this class of pod the coil is normally a mesh coil, and it is worth knowing why, because it influences both the taste and how you should use the pod.

A traditional round-wire coil is a thin wire wound into a spiral. A mesh coil is a flat sheet of fine metal with a grid of tiny holes, rolled or folded against the cotton. In practice the differences are these.

  • More heating surface. The mesh touches far more of the cotton, so heat spreads evenly. That usually means smoother, steadier flavour and fewer hot spots.
  • Faster response. A mesh coil reaches working temperature quickly, so the first draw after a pause is not weak or delayed.
  • Better use of the liquid. Even heating tends to vaporise the e-liquid more evenly and with less of the scorched note you sometimes get from a single hot spot.
  • Fixed lifespan. The coil is built into the pod and cannot be replaced. When the liquid is used up, the coil goes with it, and that is by design.

Mesh is not magic. Any coil can burn if it is dry, so priming matters (we cover that in the usage section), and sweet or iced flavours can leave a bit of residue on the coil over time, which is one reason a pod's flavour is at its cleanest in the first part of its life. Chain vaping accelerates that build-up.

One point of honesty: we do not publish a coil resistance or wattage for this pod, because those values are not on the listing and we do not want to invent them. The device controls power output, and the pod is made to work within that range. If you want to know the figures, look at the pod itself, the pack or the device manual. For most people the practical lesson is simpler: use gentle, unhurried draws, give the pod a minute to prime, and do not keep vaping a pod that tastes burnt.

Nicotine strength guidance

In the UK, nicotine e-liquid in vaping products is capped at 20mg/ml, which is 2%. That limit applied to disposable vapes while they were still on sale, and it applies to pods and bottled e-liquid today. No legal UK product exceeds it, so if you ever see a higher figure being offered, be suspicious. The strengths available for this pod depend on the options shown on the product listing, and you should always check that the strength printed on the pack matches the one you selected.

The right strength is the lowest one that stops you wanting to reach for a cigarette without making you feel unwell. As a rough starting point:

  • 20mg/ml: suits adults who smoke around ten or more cigarettes a day, or who tried lower strengths and found they did not satisfy. Nicotine salts at this level feel smoother than freebase nicotine would, but the hit is still firm.
  • 10mg/ml to 12mg/ml: a middle ground for lighter or social smokers, or for people already part-way through reducing. If your range offers it, this is often where people end up after a few weeks.
  • 5mg/ml or lower: for people with a low nicotine habit, or those who vape mainly for the flavour and the habit of using a device. Low strengths feel very gentle and are not enough for a heavy smoker.

Take note of how you actually feel. If you get dizziness, nausea, a racing heart or a headache, you may be taking in more nicotine than you need. Stop for a while and drop a strength next time. If you find yourself vaping constantly and still craving, you may be on too low a strength, and you will probably get on better with a higher one and shorter, less frequent sessions.

Two further points. The cooling in Red Apple Ice makes the throat feel colder and slightly sharper, so some people find 20mg/ml of an iced flavour harsher than the same strength of a plain fruit. If that is you, try a notch lower. And remember that nicotine is addictive in any amount. If you do not already smoke or vape, you do not need to start, and these pods are not meant for you.

Who these pods are for, and who should skip them

These pods suit a fairly specific kind of adult buyer. They make sense if the following describes you.

  • You are an adult smoker or existing vaper who wants a flavoured alternative to cigarettes or tobacco-flavoured vaping.
  • You already own a compatible Suonon Pro X device, or you plan to buy one, and you want plain replacement pods.
  • You like fruit and cooling flavours and want a pod that tastes broadly the same from first draw to last.
  • You want something simple, with no tank to fill, no coil to change and no liquid to measure.
  • You are moving away from disposable vapes and prefer a rechargeable device where only the pod is thrown away.
  • You prefer a tight, cigarette-style draw to large clouds.

They are probably the wrong choice in these cases.

  • You are under 18. It is illegal for us to sell to you and illegal for anyone to supply you.
  • You do not smoke or vape. There is no reason to start, and nicotine is addictive.
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding. Speak to a doctor, midwife or stop smoking service about your options.
  • You do not own a Pro X device. The pod will not work on its own, and it is not designed for other brands.
  • You are a heavy vaper who wants the lowest running cost. Pre-filled pods cost more per millilitre than bottled e-liquid, so a refillable kit may suit you better.
  • You want to mix your own flavours. A closed pod is a fixed flavour and a fixed strength.

If you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, take regular medication or have any other medical concern, talk to your doctor before using any nicotine product. We cannot give medical advice, and nothing on this page should be read as health advice. The pods are a consumer product for adults who already use nicotine, not a treatment.

How to use, store and dispose of the pods

Using a closed pod is simple, though a few details make a real difference in the first hour. Follow the steps in order.

  • Check the pod. Take it out of the packaging, look for obvious leaks and remove any plastic plugs or stickers from the mouthpiece and the air inlet.
  • Seat it. Line the pod up with the device and push it in until it clicks or sits flush. Make sure the device has some charge before you begin.
  • Let it prime. Wait 30 to 60 seconds with the device upright so the cotton can soak up liquid. Skipping this is the most common cause of a burnt first taste.
  • Take gentle first puffs. Two or three short, light draws without deep inhaling will wet the coil fully. Then draw normally.
  • Keep the draw slow. Two to three seconds, steady, mouth first and then to the lungs if that is how you like to vape.
  • Pause between sessions. A few seconds between puffs lets the cotton re-wet and keeps the flavour even.

Storage. Store spare pods upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sun, and out of reach of children and pets. If you remove a half-used pod to try another flavour, stand it upright and keep it somewhere clean so the mouthpiece does not pick up pocket fluff.

Disposal and recycling. Do not put used pods, or the device, in household bins or normal recycling. Vapes count as waste electrical equipment, and the lithium cell in the device is a fire risk if it is crushed in a collection lorry. UK shops that sell vapes are required to take back used vapes, and many have a collection bin near the counter. You can also use your local household waste recycling centre, many of which have a small electricals or vape bin, or search for a drop-off point using the Recycle Your Electricals postcode finder. Wrap exposed contacts if you can, and do not try to take the pod apart.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most problems with pod devices have simple causes. Work through these checks before you decide that anything is faulty.

  • No vapour or the device will not fire. Check the battery has charge, remove any plastic plugs and reseat the pod so the contacts line up. Wipe the contacts on the pod and the device with a dry cloth. Try a gentle, steady draw, because a very hard pull can sometimes fail to trigger the sensor.
  • Burnt or harsh taste. This usually means the coil has run dry, because the pod was not primed, you vaped back to back, or the liquid is almost gone. Rest the device for a minute, take light puffs, and if the taste does not clear, replace the pod. A burnt coil cannot be repaired.
  • Weak or fading flavour. If the pod is still more than a quarter full, it may be palate fatigue. Switch to a different flavour for a few days. If the window shows the liquid nearly gone, it is simply time for a new pod.
  • Gurgling, spitting or liquid in your mouth. Condensation has built up in the mouthpiece. Hold the pod upright, wipe the mouthpiece and take gentler draws. Do not blow back through the pod.
  • Leaking. A little moisture around the base can come from heat or pressure changes. If a pod leaks steadily, stop using it, wipe the device contacts and contact us with your order number and a photo.
  • Device flashes but will not vape. A flashing light often signals low battery, a poorly seated pod or a short-circuit protection cut-out. Charge the device, reseat the pod and, if it persists, try a fresh pod to see whether the pod or the device is at fault.
  • Pod does not fit. Check the device model. If it is not a Suonon Pro X, the pod is not designed for it, and forcing it can damage the connection.

If you work through the list and the problem remains, keep the pod and the packaging and get in touch. Faulty items are dealt with under normal consumer rules, and a photo or short description of what is happening helps us resolve things faster.

Value for money and how it compares

Value with pre-filled pods comes down to what you are really paying for. The price on this page buys a measured amount of liquid, a ready-made mesh coil and the convenience of not having to do anything except click it in. Per millilitre, that costs more than bottled e-liquid, and the same is true of every closed pod on the market, not just this one. The saving shows up when you compare it with smoking, where a daily pack of cigarettes costs far more than a pod that lasts a few days. Check the current price and pack size on this page, and divide by the realistic puff count rather than the 12K headline.

Here is how it compares fairly with the alternatives most UK buyers weigh up.

  • Elf Bar ELFA-style pod kits. The concept is similar: a compact rechargeable device, pre-filled pods of around 2ml and a wide flavour choice. They are stocked in more shops, so you can often pick one up in person. If you already own an ELFA-type device, there is no reason to change systems just for a flavour. If you are starting fresh, compare per-pod price and flavour range before deciding.
  • Vuse ePod and other tobacco-company pod systems. These have strong retail availability and a familiar feel, with a more limited flavour range in many cases. If you want a dependable pod from a name you recognise on the high street, that is a point in their favour. This Suonon pod is aimed more at people who want a wider choice of fruit and ice flavours.
  • Refillable pod kits, such as the Oxva Xlim or Voopoo Vmate families. You fill them yourself with bottled e-liquid. Running costs are lower, and you choose from thousands of flavours and strengths. The trade-off is effort: filling, spilling, changing coils and a little learning. They suit heavier vapers and people who enjoy tinkering. They are less convenient if you want to click in a pod and go.
  • Larger puff-count devices, where legal. Higher headline counts look better on paper, but in the UK the 2ml pod cap and the 20mg/ml limit apply to everyone. Treat any claim that one UK pod will deliver the full headline figure with scepticism.

Where this pod does well: a clean fruit-and-ice flavour, easy swaps, a familiar mesh-coil draw and no maintenance. Where it falls short: you need the matching device, closed pods are dearer per millilitre than refillable options, and the 12K number should not be taken literally for one pod. If those trade-offs fit how you vape, it is a sound, straightforward choice.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Zero-mess flavour change — snap in, done
  • Consistent draw from a factory-primed coil
  • Long shelf-life, easy to travel with

Cons

  • Costs more per ml than freestanding e-liquid
  • Pods are proprietary to a specific device
  • Only sold at 20 mg or 10 mg — no lower strengths

Customer Buying Tips

  • Check device compatibility: a pod must match your exact device family (e.g. "Elfa Pro" pods only fit Elfa Pro devices).
  • Store sealed pods upright, below 30 °C — heat and sunlight drain flavour.
  • Rotate flavours: using the same pod flavour back-to-back dulls your palate within a week.
  • Prime the pod for 60 seconds after fitting to avoid a dry hit.

Frequently asked questions

Which nicotine strength should I choose?

The UK maximum is 20mg/ml (2%), which suits adults who smoke around ten or more cigarettes a day. Lighter smokers or people who are cutting down often prefer 10mg/ml or lower. Always check that the strength printed on the pack matches the option you selected.

How do I charge it?

The pod itself has no battery, so there is nothing to charge in the pod. The rechargeable cell sits in the Suonon Pro X device, which normally charges over USB-C from a standard 5V phone charger or computer port. Do not leave it charging unattended or overnight on soft surfaces, and unplug it once the indicator shows it is full.

Can I swap flavours, and are there other variants?

Yes. The Pro X system takes interchangeable pods, so you can fit a different flavour whenever you like. Other flavours in the Pro X 12K line include Blue Razz Lemonade, Cherry Cola, Cotton Candy and Fresh Mint. Let the new pod prime for 30 to 60 seconds and take a couple of light puffs to clear the old taste.

How long will one pod last?

It depends on how you vape. The 12K figure is a headline rating for the range, and a UK pod of 2ml or less will deliver far fewer puffs than that. At around 500 to 800 puffs per pod, a moderate user may get a couple of days and a light user several days, so check the per-pod figure on the pack.

Is it good value for money?

Pre-filled pods cost more per millilitre than bottled e-liquid, but they remove the filling and coil changes, and they cost much less than smoking. Heavy vapers who want the lowest running cost will usually do better with a refillable kit. Work out value from the price on this page divided by a realistic puff count.

Who should and shouldn't buy these pods?

They are for adult smokers and existing vapers aged 18 or over who own a compatible Pro X device. They are not for under-18s, non-smokers, or anyone pregnant or breastfeeding. If you have a medical condition or take regular medication, speak to your doctor before using any nicotine product.

Do these pods fit my device, and can I refill them?

They are designed for the Suonon Pro X system, so check the model name on your device before you order. They are closed pods and are not meant to be refilled. Topping one up can damage the coil, break the seal and cause leaks.

How do I dispose of used pods?

Do not put them in household bins or normal recycling. UK shops that sell vapes are required to take back used vapes, and many have a collection bin by the till. You can also use your local household waste recycling centre or find a drop-off point with the Recycle Your Electricals postcode finder.

Do you deliver across the UK, and is age checked?

We deliver to UK addresses, with delivery options and prices shown at checkout. Age is checked as part of the order process, and the person receiving the parcel may be asked to confirm they are 18 or over. Please make sure someone who is old enough can accept delivery.

What about warranty and returns?

Pods are consumable items, so there is no separate warranty beyond your normal rights for faulty goods. For hygiene and safety reasons we cannot take back opened pods unless they are faulty. If a pod arrives damaged, leaking or defective, contact us with your order number and a photo and we will put it right.
