Vaporesso Luxe X Pro Pod Vape Kit: What It Is and Who It Is Built For

The Vaporesso Luxe X Pro Pod Vape Kit is a refillable pod system listed at £34.99. That one sentence carries the most important thing to understand before you buy: it is hardware, not a disposable. You get a rechargeable device and an empty pod, and you supply your own e-liquid. When the liquid runs out you top the pod up, and when the battery runs flat you plug in a cable. Nothing about the device itself is thrown away after a few days of use.

Vaporesso is one of the larger names in the sector, and this site carries over 250 products under the brand. The Luxe line is the part of the range aimed at people who want a compact pod device with adjustable power rather than a bare-bones starter stick. The Luxe X Pro sits in that family alongside the Luxe X, X2, X3 and XR Max kits, and it shares the Luxe X pod format that those devices use, which keeps replacement pods easy to find.

The kit is available in more than one finish, including Black, Dazzling Yellow and Gunmetal Lime. The electronics inside are the same whichever colour you choose, so this guide covers all of them in one place. The only real decision between the variants is whether you want a device that disappears into a pocket or one you can spot at the bottom of a bag.

It is worth being straightforward about timing too. Since the UK ban on single-use vapes came into force on 1 June 2025, refillable kits like this one have become the normal route for adult smokers who want a vaping device. That makes understanding how a refillable system works more useful than it used to be, and this guide is written with that in mind. It covers specifications, performance, flavour, build quality, battery life, coils, nicotine strength, who the kit suits, how to use it, what goes wrong and how it compares with alternatives.

One note before we start. Vaping is for adult smokers who want an alternative to cigarettes. If you do not smoke, do not start. Nicotine is addictive, and sales of vaping products in the UK are restricted to people aged 18 and over.

Key Specifications at a Glance

The figures below are the manufacturer-rated values for the Luxe X Pro and the Luxe X pod format it uses. They are approximate, and real-world results depend on the liquid you fill, the power you set and how long you hold each draw. Check the pack and the product listing for the exact wording on your unit.

  • Device type: refillable pod kit, sold without e-liquid
  • Battery: built-in rechargeable cell of around 1500mAh, charged over USB Type-C
  • Output: adjustable power, up to roughly 40W
  • Pod capacity: 2ml, which is the legal limit for refillable pods and tanks sold in the UK
  • Coil type: mesh coils built into the pod, available in 0.4 ohm, 0.6 ohm and 0.8 ohm resistances
  • Airflow: adjustable, so you can tighten the draw for a mouth-to-lung style or open it up for a looser pull
  • Protections: short-circuit, over-time and low-resistance safeguards built into the chipset
  • Colours: Black, Dazzling Yellow and Gunmetal Lime among the options
  • Puff count: not a fixed number on a refillable system; a full 2ml pod typically gives somewhere around 300 to 500 puffs depending on power and puff length

That last point deserves a moment, because people coming from disposables expect a puff rating on the box. A refillable device has no ceiling of its own. The number of puffs you get is simply how many times you can draw before the pod and battery need attention, and both are refillable and rechargeable for as long as the hardware lasts. For comparison, a typical 600-puff disposable holds about 2ml of liquid, so a full pod in the Luxe X Pro is broadly in the same territory per fill. The difference is what happens next: instead of a bin, you pour in another 2ml.

The 2ml cap is not a Vaporesso decision. It is the rule for refillable pods and tanks in the UK, which is why you will see the same pod size across most brands. A standard 10ml bottle of e-liquid fills a pod five times, and the maximum nicotine strength of any liquid you buy is 20mg per millilitre.

Performance and Vapour Delivery

Where this kit separates itself from a basic starter pod is in how much control it gives you over the draw. A fixed-output device does one thing at one setting. The Luxe X Pro lets you raise or lower the power to suit the liquid and the coil, and combined with the adjustable airflow that gives you a wider usable range than the price might suggest.

With the higher-resistance 0.8 ohm pod and a nicotine salt liquid, you are in mouth-to-lung territory. The draw is tight, the vapour is cooler, the throat hit is controlled and the whole thing feels close to the way a cigarette is drawn. This is the setting most people moving off smoking find easiest, and it is also the most economical, because the lower power uses less liquid per puff.

With the 0.4 ohm pod, an open airflow setting and a higher power, the device behaves differently. Each draw is longer and looser, vapour production is noticeably larger and the flavour is warmer. This is a lung-style draw, and it burns through a 2ml pod faster. It also changes which liquids make sense, which we cover in the nicotine section below.

The 0.6 ohm pod sits in the middle and is where most owners end up settling. It handles a moderate power setting well and gives a firm draw without feeling restricted.

Three practical points come out of this range of behaviour:

  • Match the pod to your draw style first and tune power second. Fitting a 0.4 ohm pod and then trying to make it behave like a tight mouth-to-lung device by turning the power down gives a weak, lukewarm result.
  • Draw activation is by inhale, with no firing button to hold. The chipset detects airflow and heats the coil, which keeps the motion natural but means the pod needs to be seated properly for the sensor to read correctly.
  • Ramp-up is quick. Mesh coils have a large heating surface and reach working temperature in a fraction of a second, so there is little delay between inhaling and feeling the vapour.

None of this makes the Luxe X Pro a cloud-chasing device. At 40W it is a compact pod with a respectable power ceiling, not a sub-ohm tank setup. What it delivers is consistency: the first puff of a freshly filled pod and the last puff before a refill feel much the same, which is the quality that matters for something you use all day.

Flavour Profile and What Affects It

A hardware page cannot give you a flavour profile in the way a bottle of e-liquid can, because the kit carries no flavour of its own. What the device controls is how faithfully it reproduces whatever you put in the pod, and that comes down to coil design, temperature and wicking.

Mesh coils are the reason the Luxe X family has a reputation for clean, even flavour. Instead of a single wire wrapped around a cotton wick, a mesh coil is a flat sheet of fine metal lattice that contacts a large area of wick at once. The liquid is heated across a wide surface rather than at a hot spot, which means less chance of scorching a small patch of cotton and a more even vaporisation of the flavour compounds in the liquid. In practice you notice this as fruit notes that stay recognisably fruit, and menthol or ice flavours that stay cool instead of turning harsh when you draw hard.

A few habits make a real difference to flavour:

  • Prime the pod. Leave a freshly filled pod to stand for five to ten minutes before the first draw. A dry wick tastes burnt, and a burnt wick cannot be rescued.
  • Keep power inside the sweet spot. Each pod has a range printed on it or listed with it. Staying in the lower-to-middle portion of that range gives the most flavour per puff. Pushing to the top end increases vapour but flattens delicate notes.
  • Choose liquid thickness to suit the coil. The lower-resistance pods are designed for thinner, higher-VG-friendly liquids with a lot of airflow. Very thick, heavily sweetened liquids can slow wicking in a tight pod and lead to dry hits.
  • Change flavours deliberately. Coils hold residue. If you move between a menthol and a creamy dessert flavour, expect traces of the first in the second, and change the pod when the switch matters to you.

Fruit, ice and sweet profiles tend to suit mesh pods best, and tobacco and dessert flavours work but ask for slightly more care over wicking. Whatever you choose, the quality of the liquid matters as much as the quality of the device. A premium kit filled with a poor liquid will taste like a poor liquid.

Design, Build Quality and Colour Options

The Luxe X Pro is a small, flat-sided device that fits a trouser pocket without being obvious about it. The body is compact enough that most owners carry it loose instead of in a case, and light enough that you stop noticing the weight within a day or two. The finish across the colour range is a soft-touch coating that resists fingerprints better than glossy paint.

The three finishes mentioned on this page are quite different in character. Black is the unremarkable option, and for something that comes out of a pocket several times a day in public that is a genuine advantage. Gunmetal Lime pairs a dark body with a bright accent colour and sits in the middle ground. Dazzling Yellow is the loud one and is the easiest to find at the bottom of a bag, which is a practical argument as much as an aesthetic one.

A few build points are worth knowing about before you buy:

  • The pod should seat firmly and flush. It should sit in the body without a gap. A pod that rocks slightly in its seat is usually a sign of residue on the contacts, not a defective device.
  • Contact points are exposed. The metal connectors between the pod and the body are the most common source of firing problems. They are easy to wipe clean and a cotton bud is all you need.
  • The pod itself is transparent. You can see how much liquid is left at a glance, which is genuinely useful because running a coil on an empty wick is the quickest way to ruin a pod.
  • The Type-C port is on the base. Charging while the device stands upright is easy, and you can use a cable you already own.

Like every compact vape, the Luxe X Pro is a device with a battery inside it, and it should be treated accordingly. Do not leave it in a hot car, do not charge it under a pillow, and do not carry it loose in a pocket with keys and coins. Buying from a retailer that sources genuine Vaporesso stock through authorised UK distribution matters here more than with almost any other product we sell, because a counterfeit kit contains a battery and charging circuit of unknown origin.

Battery Life and Charging

The battery in the Luxe X Pro is a built-in cell of around 1500mAh. That is not an enormous capacity by the standard of larger mod-style devices, but it is well matched to a compact pod running at moderate power. Treat it as a day-to-day battery, not a weekend one.

Real-world endurance depends almost entirely on how you use it:

  • Tighter draw, lower power. A 0.8 ohm pod at modest wattage uses little energy per puff, and a moderate user can often get through a full day on one charge, sometimes more.
  • Looser draw, higher power. A 0.4 ohm pod pushed toward the top of the range drains the cell considerably faster. Heavy users should expect to top up during the day or carry a charging cable.
  • Chain vaping versus spaced puffs. Short bursts spread through the day are gentler on the battery than long sessions.

Charging is over USB Type-C, so any standard cable works and there is no proprietary lead to lose. From empty, expect somewhere around an hour to an hour and a half with a decent adapter. Use a good-quality 5V charger rather than a high-output fast charger designed for phones and laptops, and avoid cheap unbranded cables that can deliver unstable current.

A few charging habits protect the battery and extend its working life:

  • Charge on a hard, non-flammable surface where you can see the device, not under bedding or on a sofa cushion.
  • Unplug it once it is full instead of leaving it connected for days.
  • Do not charge it while it is hot from use or after being left in a warm place. Let it cool first.
  • If the casing swells, smells odd or gets unusually hot while charging, stop using it and take it for recycling.

When the device eventually reaches the end of its life, do not put it in a household bin or kerbside recycling. Vapes contain lithium batteries that start fires in waste lorries and recycling plants. Take it to a vape recycling bin at a participating retailer or a household waste recycling centre that accepts small electricals. Many retailers that sell vapes are required to take back waste electrical equipment, so ask when you buy a replacement.

Mesh Coil Technology and Pod Care

The pod is the consumable part of this system, and understanding how it works is what keeps the running costs low. The Luxe X pod contains the mesh coil, the wick and the 2ml reservoir in a single sealed unit. When the coil wears out, you replace the whole pod, which is why spare pods are sold in multi-packs on this site.

The three resistances map onto three different styles:

  • 0.8 ohm: the tightest draw, lowest power use and the most economical per fill. Suits nicotine salts and people stepping across from smoking.
  • 0.6 ohm: a balanced middle option with a slightly looser draw and more vapour. Works with most nicotine salt liquids and with lower-strength freebase.
  • 0.4 ohm: the most open draw and the highest vapour output. Pairs with low-nicotine freebase liquids and higher airflow, and uses more liquid and more battery.

Pod lifespan varies, but a typical mesh pod lasts somewhere between one and three weeks of regular use. Several things shorten that:

  • Very sweet liquids, which caramelise on the coil and gum it up faster
  • Running the pod too hot for its rated range
  • Vaping on a nearly empty reservoir, which dries the wick
  • Frequent flavour switching without cleaning the contacts

And several things extend it. Keep the pod topped up so the wick never runs dry. Stay within the stated power range. Wipe the contacts occasionally. Store the device upright instead of lying on its side, which prevents liquid pooling around the air intake.

When a pod starts to taste burnt, produce thin or muted vapour, or gurgles even after priming, it is finished. Do not keep pushing it. Replacing it is cheaper than a ruined flavour and the harsh, scorched draw you get from a failing coil. Used pods contain residual liquid and should not be thrown loose into general waste; use a vape recycling point where one is available.

Choosing a Nicotine Strength for a Refillable Kit

The kit contains no nicotine. The strength is decided by the liquid you buy, and that choice has more effect on how a session feels than any setting on the device. It is also the decision where getting it wrong has the clearest consequences: too strong is harsh and unpleasant, too weak leaves you reaching for the device constantly or going back to cigarettes.

In the UK the maximum strength of any nicotine e-liquid is 20mg per millilitre, and refillable pods and tanks are limited to 2ml. That cap applies across the board, to bottled liquid for refillables and to the single-use devices that used to be common. Nothing you buy legally will go above it.

Nicotine comes in two broad forms, and the pod resistance should guide which you pick:

  • Nicotine salts (typically 10mg to 20mg). Smoother at higher strengths, absorbed more quickly and designed for tight, lower-power pods. These suit the 0.8 ohm and 0.6 ohm pods and are what most pod-system users choose.
  • Freebase nicotine (typically 3mg to 6mg). Harsher at higher strengths, so it is used in lower concentrations with higher-powered, more open devices. This is the natural pairing for the 0.4 ohm pod and an open airflow setting.

As a general starting point, remembering that this is a guide and not medical advice:

  • People moving off a heavy smoking habit often begin around 18mg to 20mg nicotine salt in a 0.8 ohm pod.
  • People who smoked fewer cigarettes, or who find high strength harsh, usually start around 10mg to 12mg.
  • Lower-resistance pods and bigger clouds go with lower strengths, because more vapour means more nicotine delivered per draw.
  • Zero nicotine liquid works in the same device, which is useful if you are stepping down.

Signs that you have it wrong are fairly obvious. If you feel lightheaded, nauseous or get a hot, scratchy throat hit, the strength or the power is too high. If you chain vape and still feel unsatisfied, the strength is probably too low. Adjust one thing at a time. If you want support giving up smoking altogether, the NHS and local stop smoking services can help.

Who the Luxe X Pro Suits, and Who Should Look Elsewhere

At £34.99 this is a considered purchase, not an impulse one, so it is worth being honest about who gets the value out of it.

It suits:

  • Daily adult vapers. If you vape every day, the device cost is recovered quickly against the recurring cost of throwaway products, and the running cost is just liquid and the occasional pod.
  • Adult smokers switching for the first time who want to tune the experience. The adjustable power and choice of coils let you start tight and moderate and loosen later without buying a new device.
  • People who care about flavour. The mesh pods deliver consistent taste and the open choice of e-liquid means you are not tied to whatever a manufacturer pre-filled.
  • People who want something that outlasts a season. A rechargeable, refillable body with replaceable pods should keep working for a long time if looked after.

It is probably not the right choice if:

  • You vape rarely. Occasional users may find a cheaper starter pod kit more sensible. The extra capability only pays back if you use it.
  • You want something with zero maintenance. A refillable system asks you to fill, prime, wipe and replace. If that sounds like a chore, a simpler sealed-pod system is worth a look.
  • You are new to vaping and want absolute simplicity. The adjustability is a strength, but it is also something to learn. A fixed-output device is simpler.
  • You do not already smoke. Nicotine is addictive. Nothing here is intended for non-smokers or anyone under 18.

There is also a middle case worth naming. If you are a heavier user who currently spends a significant amount each month on single-use or sealed products, this kit is aimed squarely at you. If you are a light user buying one product every few weeks, the economics are less clear-cut, and a lower-priced device such as the Armour G at £27.99 may serve you equally well.

How to Set Up and Use the Luxe X Pro

Setup takes a few minutes, and doing it properly the first time avoids most of the problems people run into later.

Work through these steps in order:

  • 1. Charge the device first. Plug it in via Type-C while you prepare everything else. A partly charged battery is fine to use, but a full one avoids confusion about whether a problem is power or liquid.
  • 2. Choose your pod. Select the resistance that matches your draw style and your nicotine type. If you are unsure, the 0.6 ohm pod with a 10mg to 12mg nicotine salt is a sensible starting combination.
  • 3. Open the fill port. The pod has a small port sealed by a silicone bung. Peel it back carefully without tearing it.
  • 4. Fill slowly. Rest the nozzle of the bottle against the fill hole and squeeze gently. Stop below the maximum line. Do not fill over the central tube that carries air, because flooding is the most common cause of leaks.
  • 5. Close the port and wait. Press the bung firmly home, wipe away any spilled liquid, then let the pod stand for five to ten minutes so the wick saturates. A new pod fired dry tastes burnt immediately and you cannot undo it.
  • 6. Fit the pod and set the airflow. Seat the pod fully. Begin with a mid airflow setting and adjust after a few draws.
  • 7. Start low. Set the power toward the lower end of the pod's rated range and take a few gentle draws. Increase in small steps until the flavour and warmth feel right.

In everyday use, remember a few things. The device fires on inhale, so there is no button to hold. Take slow, steady draws of two to four seconds instead of long, hard ones, which put unnecessary strain on the coil. Do not let the liquid level fall below the lowest visible mark before topping up. If you are not using the device for several days, keep it upright and wipe the mouthpiece.

Only use liquid intended for vaping, only use it in the quantities the pod can hold, and keep bottles and pods out of reach of children and pets. Nicotine liquid is toxic if swallowed or if it gets on skin and eyes in quantity.

Troubleshooting Common Problems

Most issues with a refillable pod kit come down to a short list of causes, and nearly all of them are fixable at home without replacing anything. Work through these in order before assuming the device is faulty.

  • The device will not fire. Check the battery first. Then remove the pod and wipe both sets of contacts with a dry cotton bud, because e-liquid residue is the usual culprit. Refit the pod firmly and try again. If it still does nothing on a charged device with a clean pod, try a different pod, which separates a device fault from a pod fault.
  • Burnt or scorched taste. Either the pod was not left to prime, the liquid level was allowed to get too low, or the power is too high. If it persists after a refill, the coil is probably damaged and the pod needs replacing.
  • Gurgling or spitting. The pod is flooded. Remove it, blow gently through the mouthpiece to clear the airway, wipe it dry and refill slightly less next time. Tilting the device upward when you draw also helps.
  • Leaking from the base or air intake. Usually overfilling, a bung that is not seated properly, or temperature and pressure changes after flights or car journeys. Clean the pod, refit the bung and keep the device upright.
  • Weak vapour or muted flavour. The coil may be tired, the liquid may be too thick for the resistance, or the power may be set too low. Try a fresh pod, then adjust power.
  • Dry hit even though the pod looks full. The wick is not saturating fast enough. Thick, high-VG liquid in a tight pod is a common cause. Use a thinner liquid or prime for longer.
  • Battery drains unusually fast. Check for a stuck sensor or liquid around the air intake that keeps triggering the device. Clean it. If the battery drains with little use, stop using it and contact the retailer.
  • Device gets hot. Stop using it, unplug it and let it cool. If it does so repeatedly, do not keep using it.

If your kit arrives damaged or fails from first use, contact us and we will resolve it. Opened pods and other consumables cannot be returned for hygiene reasons that apply across the industry, so check that a pod fits properly before you open it.

Value for Money and How It Compares

Value on a refillable kit comes down to what you spend over months, not on the day you buy it. The sums are simple enough to do yourself. A £34.99 kit costs more than a disposable, but the device is a one-off. After that you pay for liquid, which is cheaper per millilitre than the sealed products it replaces, and for pods every couple of weeks. A regular user who would otherwise buy a new sealed product every few days usually breaks even within the first month or two. A light user may never get there.

Within the Vaporesso range, the sensible comparisons are these:

  • Vaporesso Armour G: priced around £7 lower at £27.99, a simpler device in the same family of refillable systems. A reasonable choice for occasional users or anyone who wants less to adjust.
  • Luxe X2 and Luxe X3: the newer entries in the same line, generally priced higher and aimed at people who want the latest iteration. If you want the most recent hardware, look there; if you want a proven design at a lower price, the X Pro makes sense.
  • Luxe XR Max: a larger-format, higher-capacity device. It suits heavier users who want longer battery life and are happy to carry something bigger.

Outside the Vaporesso range, there are a few honest points worth making. Compact pod systems from Oxva, Uwell and Voopoo are all real alternatives. Each has its own pod format, so you cannot mix and match, and the strongest argument for any of them is the one that matches your liking for how the pods feel and taste. The Luxe X pod format has the advantage of wide availability, which keeps spares easy to find and prices competitive. Where the X Pro does not lead is simplicity: a sealed-pod device with a fixed output is easier for a first-time user, and cheaper ones exist.

Buying notes that apply to this kit: orders confirmed before 4pm on a working day are dispatched the same day, UK delivery is free on orders over £20, and the kit clears that on its own, so you can add liquid and spare pods to the same order without paying more for postage. Every order is age-checked before it ships.

Our view in plain terms: for a daily adult vaper who wants control over the draw and consistent flavour, it is a sound purchase at the price. For an occasional user, it is more kit than the job requires.

Frequently asked questions

What nicotine strength should I use with the Vaporesso Luxe X Pro?

The kit has no nicotine of its own, so it depends on the liquid you fill. Heavier smokers switching over often start around 18mg to 20mg nicotine salt in a 0.8 ohm pod, while lighter smokers usually do better at 10mg to 12mg. If you use the 0.4 ohm pod with open airflow, choose a lower-strength freebase liquid of around 3mg to 6mg. The UK maximum is 20mg per millilitre.

How do I charge it and how long does it take?

It charges through the USB Type-C port on the base, so any standard cable works. From empty, expect roughly an hour to an hour and a half with a good-quality 5V adapter. Charge it on a hard surface, unplug it once full and never leave it charging unattended overnight.

Does the kit come with e-liquid?

No. It is hardware only, supplied with the device and pod but no liquid, so you will need to buy e-liquid separately. Nicotine salt liquids are the usual choice for the higher-resistance pods, and lower-strength freebase suits the 0.4 ohm pod.

Can I swap between flavours, and which colours are available?

Yes to both. You can change liquid whenever you like, though residue from the previous flavour will linger in the coil, so change the pod when the switch matters to you. The kit comes in Black, Dazzling Yellow and Gunmetal Lime among its options. All of them are the same device, so the colour choice is purely cosmetic.

How long does a pod and a charge last?

A full 2ml pod typically gives roughly 300 to 500 puffs depending on power and puff length, and a mesh pod commonly lasts one to three weeks of regular use before the flavour fades. The 1500mAh battery usually covers a moderate user for a full day, while heavier users at high power should expect to top up.

Is it worth the money compared with disposables?

For regular users, usually yes. The device is a one-off cost and only liquid and occasional pods recur, so the difference tends to be recovered within a month or two. Single-use vapes have also been banned from sale in the UK since 1 June 2025, which makes a refillable kit the standard option. For occasional users, a cheaper kit such as the Armour G at £27.99 may suit better.

Who should and should not buy this kit?

It suits adult smokers and daily vapers who want adjustable power, consistent mesh-coil flavour and a device that lasts. It is not intended for non-smokers or anyone under 18, and it is less suited to very occasional users or anyone wanting zero maintenance. Nicotine is addictive, so do not start vaping if you do not already smoke.

Do you deliver across the UK, and is it age-checked?

Yes. Orders confirmed before 4pm on a working day are dispatched the same day, UK delivery is free on orders over £20 and tracked options appear at checkout. Vaping products are sold only to adults aged 18 and over, so every order is age-verified before it ships. If a check is inconclusive we may ask for identification, which can add a day.

What if the kit arrives faulty, and what are the returns rules?

If a kit arrives damaged or fails from first use, contact us and we will resolve it. Pods and other consumables cannot be returned once opened, for hygiene reasons that apply across the industry. We stock genuine Vaporesso hardware through authorised UK distribution.

How do I dispose of or recycle the device and used pods?

Do not put vapes, batteries or used pods in household bins or kerbside recycling, because the lithium battery is a fire risk. Take them to a vape recycling bin at a participating retailer or a household waste recycling centre that accepts small electricals. Retailers selling vapes are generally required to take back waste electrical equipment, so you can ask when you buy a replacement.

Honestly, I was unsure at first but this has been great. Flavour is strong and lasts the full session. No complaints at all.

Flavour is spot on

Not too strong, not too mild — just right. Good for all day use without being overpowering.
