Easy to use straight out the box
Honestly, I was unsure at first but this has been great. Flavour is strong and lasts the full session. No complaints at all.
VaporessoThe Vaporesso QF Strip 0.15 Coil (Pack of 3) by Vaporesso in 0.15 Ohm at 0mg. Free UK delivery over £20, same-day dispatch on weekday orders before 4pm.
The Vaporesso QF Strip 0.15Ω coil is a replacement heating head for refillable vape tanks in Vaporesso's SKRR family. It is sold here as a pack of three, which means you receive three separate coils sealed in their packaging. There is no battery, no tank and no e-liquid in the box. What you get is the consumable part of a vape: the small component that heats e-liquid into vapour and that wears out with use. When the flavour starts to fade or a burnt note creeps in, you unscrew the old coil, fit a fresh one, prime it and carry on with the same tank and the same device.
The name tells you most of what you need to know. QF is the series name Vaporesso uses for this coil line, Strip describes the shape of the heating element, and 0.15Ω is the resistance. A resistance that low puts this coil firmly in the sub-ohm category. It is built to run at higher wattage and to produce a larger, warmer and denser cloud than a standard pod coil in the 0.6 to 1.2Ω range. It is a direct-to-lung coil, meaning you inhale slowly and deeply into the lungs with a loose airflow, rather than drawing into the mouth first the way you would with a cigarette.
This page sits inside a small family of two options in our range, so check the variant selector before you add to basket and match the coil to your tank. Coils are not universal. A Vaporesso QF coil will not seat in a Uwell, Voopoo or Smok tank, and the reverse is also true. Vaporesso prints the compatible tanks on the packaging and on its own product pages, and the coil code is usually stamped on the base of the coil you are replacing, so confirm that before ordering.
There is also a UK context worth stating plainly. Single-use vapes have been banned in Great Britain since 1 June 2025, so refillable kits with replaceable coils are now the normal route for adult vapers who want to keep vaping. A pack of three coils is how most refillable users keep their kit running without paying for a whole new device each time. Everything on this page is for adults aged 18 or over, and these coils are for existing smokers and vapers, not for anyone who does not already use nicotine.
Every coil, whatever its shape, does the same job in two parts. A heating element made of resistance alloy warms up when current passes through it, and a cotton wick pulls e-liquid from the tank to the element by capillary action. The liquid reaches the hot surface, turns to vapour, and the wick refills from the reservoir ready for the next draw. How well that cycle works decides the flavour, the vapour volume and how long the coil lasts.
Older coils used a round wire wrapped in a spiral. That design is simple and cheap, but the contact area between wire and cotton is small, so heat is concentrated in a narrow band. Mesh coils replaced the wire with a sheet of fine woven alloy, spreading heat across a much bigger area. A strip coil sits between the two ideas. Instead of a round wire it uses a flat ribbon-shaped element, which gives noticeably more surface area against the wick than a thin round wire of the same length, and lets the coil reach a low resistance without needing a large number of wraps.
The 0.15Ω figure matters because of basic electrical maths. Power equals voltage squared divided by resistance. At 70W, a 0.15Ω coil sees roughly 3.2V across it and around 21A of current passing through it. The same wattage through a 1.0Ω pod coil would need about 8.4V and under 9A, which is more than most pod devices can supply. A low-resistance coil therefore trades current for voltage, and it is why the device you pair it with needs to be a regulated sub-ohm device that can deliver that current safely.
The wick is organic cotton, which is the standard material in this class of coil. Cotton works because it absorbs liquid quickly and tolerates heat, but it does need to be saturated before first use. A dry or half-wet wick burns, and a burnt wick cannot be rescued. That is the reason priming is a step you should never skip, and we cover it in detail further down this page.
We have not listed an alloy name or a wire gauge because those details are Vaporesso's to state and can change between production batches. If a precise material matters to you, the packaging and Vaporesso's own documentation are the authority.
The point of a 0.15Ω strip coil is volume and warmth. Compared with a standard pod coil, you get a larger cloud per draw, a softer and warmer vapour temperature at the higher end of the power range, and a more relaxed draw because the airflow ring on a sub-ohm tank is far more open. If you have used a pod kit and found the vapour thin or the draw tight, this is a different experience, and some people find it a bigger change than they expected.
Heat-up time is short. A coil with this much surface area reaches working temperature almost as soon as you press the fire button, so there is little delay before vapour arrives. Response stays consistent through a long draw too, as long as the wick keeps up. That last point is the real limit. At the top of the power range a coil can evaporate liquid faster than a thick, high-VG e-liquid can travel along the wick, and the result is a dry, harsh hit. The fix is not to chase more power. It is to keep power in the lower half of the printed range, choose a sensible e-liquid ratio and keep the tank topped up.
E-liquid consumption is the other thing to plan for. Sub-ohm vaping uses far more liquid than pod vaping, and UK rules cap refillable tank capacity at 2ml. At 60 to 70W a 2ml tank can be emptied in a matter of a few hours of mixed use, and in well under an hour of steady chain-vaping. If you are used to filling a pod once a day, expect to refill several times. Carry a spare bottle, and note that the UK limit on nicotine-containing e-liquid bottles is 10ml for refills, or 100ml shortfills that have no nicotine added.
A coil is not rated in puffs the way a disposable is, because the puff count depends entirely on how you vape. As a loose, practical guide, a coil of this kind often handles somewhere in the region of 30 to 50ml of e-liquid before flavour starts to dull, which works out at roughly 15 to 25 fills of a 2ml tank. Treat that as an indicative range, not a promise. Sweet, thick liquids shorten life, light fruit and menthol liquids tend to extend it, and running at the bottom of the printed power range helps too.
Flavour from a strip coil at this resistance leans warm and full-bodied rather than tight and sharp. The large element heats the wick evenly, which means you taste the whole of the e-liquid profile rather than a spiky top note. Fruit blends, dessert flavours, menthol and fresh mint all come through clearly. Compared with a dedicated low-wattage mesh coil, flavour is a little more diffuse at high power, because more vapour dilutes the flavour in each lungful. That is a trade-off of the format, not a fault, and dropping the wattage a few notches usually brings concentration back up.
The coil's tolerance for e-liquid thickness has limits. Sub-ohm coils generally manage 50/50 and 70/30 VG/PG mixes comfortably. A 50/50 e-liquid wicks quickly and is gentle on the cotton, which suits the lower end of the power range. A 70/30 mix gives denser clouds and a smoother throat feel but needs more careful priming and a bit more patience when you first start. Very high-VG liquids at 80VG and above are thick enough that the wick can struggle to keep up on a 0.15Ω coil, and are better left for tanks designed around them.
Sweeteners affect coil life more than most people realise. Heavily sweetened dessert, candy and bubblegum liquids leave a sticky residue on the element and in the cotton, which dulls flavour and eventually causes a burnt taste. If you vape those, expect to replace the coil sooner. Menthol, mint and light fruit liquids tend to keep a coil clean for longer, though they are not immune to wear.
If you switch between very different flavours, a few habits help. Rinse the tank thoroughly with warm water and let it dry fully before changing profile, because even small amounts of leftover liquid cause ghosting. Some vapers keep one coil for fruit and ice flavours and another for creamy or tobacco-style liquids, and having a pack of three makes that practical. Do not expect a coil to wash completely clean, though. Once it has taken on a strong flavour, it will keep traces of it.
A coil is a small component, but build quality shows in a few places. The outer shell is a metal and plastic assembly with a threaded base that screws into the tank, and sealing rings that stop liquid leaking where the coil meets the tank body. The wick is visible through the side wicking ports, and the heating element runs through the centre column. Inside the pack you receive three of these, each individually seated in its tray, protected from handling damage.
When you open a pack, spend thirty seconds checking each coil. The cotton should be intact and clean, without loose fibres hanging out of the ports. The sealing rings should sit flat in their grooves, and the threads should look crisp rather than burred. The base should show the resistance marking and the coil code. If one coil in a pack looks off, do not fit it, and contact the shop with a photo, because a damaged coil can leak or misfire.
Fit is the thing that most affects daily use. A well-made coil screws in smoothly with light finger pressure and seats flush. It should never need forcing. Overtightening can crush the sealing rings and cause leaks, and cross-threading can damage the tank's own thread, which is a more expensive problem than the coil. Hand-tighten until you feel the coil seat, then stop.
Counterfeit coils exist for popular models, and they are usually the reason a coil seems to perform badly. Fake coils may have uneven cotton, wrong resistance, poor sealing or unclear printing. Buy from a reputable UK retailer, look at the authentication features printed on genuine Vaporesso packaging, and be suspicious of prices far below the normal market level. A coil that is cheap but burns out in a day costs more than a genuine one.
The coil has no battery of its own, so the question is whether your device can run it properly. A 0.15Ω coil draws substantial current, and it only makes sense in a regulated device designed for sub-ohm use. That means a device with a proper chip, short-circuit and low-resistance protection, and a battery able to supply the current. Most Vaporesso devices that use the SKRR-family tanks are built for exactly this, but check your device's maximum output and its stated minimum coil resistance before you fit the coil.
To put numbers on it, consider two common setups. A built-in 3000mAh battery stores about 11Wh at nominal voltage. Allowing for roughly 15 per cent conversion loss, that leaves around 9.4Wh usable, which at 70W is only about eight minutes of actual firing time, or roughly 120 four-second puffs. That is a realistic day of light use, or a few hours of heavy use. A device with two removable 18650 cells in series stores roughly twice that, so you might see around 240 puffs per charge at the same wattage. These are estimates, and real figures vary with battery age, temperature and wattage, but they illustrate why heavy sub-ohm users carry spare cells or a power bank.
Running the coil at the lower end of the printed range extends battery life considerably. Dropping from 70W to 60W saves about 14 per cent of the energy per puff. It also improves flavour and coil life, so there is a strong case for starting low and turning up only if you need to.
Charging practice matters for safety. Use the cable supplied with the device or a reputable USB-C cable, plug into a quality charger rather than an unknown high-output block, and do not leave a device charging unattended or overnight on soft furnishings. If a battery becomes hot, swollen or damaged, stop using it. Lithium cells and vape devices should never go in household waste or recycling bins. In the UK, take them to a battery or electrical recycling drop-off point, a household waste recycling centre or a retailer take-back scheme, since retailers selling electrical products are required to offer take-back.
Because this coil produces a lot of vapour, the nicotine strength of the e-liquid matters far more than it does with a pod. In the UK, the legal maximum nicotine strength for e-liquid is 20mg/ml, which is also the cap that applies to the pods used in disposables. That 20mg figure is a ceiling for the market, not a recommendation for every device. Through a 0.15Ω coil at 60 to 70W it would be extremely harsh on the throat and deliver a very large dose of nicotine very quickly.
Sub-ohm vaping is conventionally done with low-strength freebase e-liquid, usually 0mg, 3mg or 6mg. At 3mg, a high-VG liquid is generally smooth even at higher wattage. At 6mg you get a stronger throat hit and more nicotine per puff, which some ex-smokers need. Many vapers buy 0mg shortfill bottles in sizes up to 100ml and add nicotine shots to reach the strength they want. That is cost-efficient and gives a fine-tuned result, but follow the shot manufacturer's mixing instructions carefully.
Nicotine salts are a different product. They are smoother at high strengths and designed for low-power, tight-draw devices. If you choose to use a salt in a sub-ohm tank, keep it low, at 10mg or less, and expect very large doses per puff. Higher-strength salts in a high-power setup can lead to nicotine overdose symptoms such as nausea, dizziness and rapid heartbeat, so be sensible.
This is general information, not medical advice. If you are trying to stop smoking, NHS Stop Smoking Services offer free support and can advise on the options. Vaping is not risk-free, and anyone who does not already smoke should not start. These products are for adults aged 18 and over only.
The coil makes the most sense for a specific kind of buyer, and it is just as useful to say who it does not suit. If your device and tank are not in the Vaporesso SKRR family, the answer is simple: do not buy it, because it will not fit.
Good fit: adult vapers who already own a compatible Vaporesso sub-ohm tank and device and want a direct-to-lung experience with big clouds and an open draw. Ex-smokers who have settled into sub-ohm vaping and want to keep stocked up. Anyone who wants to run low-strength freebase e-liquid or shortfills with added nicotine shots. People who like to change coils regularly rather than stretch every one to the limit, since a pack of three gives you a few weeks of supply in one purchase.
Poor fit: mouth-to-lung vapers, including many recent switchers from cigarettes, who prefer a tight draw and higher nicotine salts. A 0.15Ω coil in that role will feel airy, use liquid quickly and give a nicotine delivery that may not satisfy. Pod kit users who do not own a sub-ohm device. Beginners with a low-wattage device whose maximum output sits below the coil's printed range, because the coil will not perform as intended. Anyone who wants a lightweight, set-and-forget experience, since sub-ohm vaping needs more refilling, charging and maintenance than a pod.
It is also not for non-smokers, for anyone under 18, or for anyone who is pregnant or has a medical condition and has not taken advice. If you do not currently use nicotine, you do not need this product.
Fitting a coil takes a couple of minutes, but the order of steps matters. Skipping priming is the most common reason new coils burn out within the first tank.
For day-to-day use, take draws of three to five seconds, rather than very long pulls, and allow a short pause between puffs so the wick can refill. Avoid chain-vaping at maximum power. Keep an eye on the tank level and refill before it drops too low, since firing a coil with a nearly empty tank is a quick route to a dry hit and a burnt wick.
Store spare coils flat, in their packaging, away from heat and damp. Do not handle the cotton with dirty fingers. Always keep vaping products and liquids out of reach of children and pets.
Most coil problems come down to priming, power or e-liquid. Here are the issues vapers meet most often and what to try before blaming the coil.
If you have followed these steps and a new coil still misbehaves, stop using it and contact us with your order number and a photo of the coil and packaging. A genuine manufacturing fault is rare, but it does happen, and we would rather resolve it than have you persist with a poor experience.
Judging value on a coil comes down to cost per week of use. A pack of three divides the price across three coils, so the number to compare is the per-coil cost, not the headline pack price. If you change a coil every one to three weeks, a single pack supplies somewhere between three weeks and two months of vaping. Compared with buying a new disposable every few days, which is no longer possible in Great Britain anyway, refillable coils are a far cheaper way to vape over the long term.
Coil life varies widely, so any figure is an estimate. A light user running low wattage with clean, low-sugar e-liquid can see a coil last several weeks. A heavy user at higher power with sweet dessert liquids may need a replacement in under a week. The factors that matter most are the power you run, the sweetness of the e-liquid, how long you let a tank run low and how carefully the coil was primed.
You can stretch the value without compromising quality. Prime properly every time, keep power in the lower part of the printed range, avoid very sweet liquids if cost is a concern and never fire the coil dry. These habits are free, and they can add days to a coil's life. What does not save money is trying to extend a coil past the point where it tastes burnt, because it delivers a worse experience and may produce harsher vapour.
Genuine coils are always better value than cheap copies. A fake pack at half the price that lasts three days is poor economy. Buying from a UK retailer also gives you consumer protection that a marketplace seller may not.
When a coil is spent, dispose of it responsibly. A used coil is a small piece of metal, cotton and plastic. Do not throw it in a hedge or on the street. Check your local council's guidance, as some household waste recycling centres and many vape retailers operate collection points for vaping waste, and waste electrical items can be taken to a drop-off point or returned to a shop that offers take-back.
Coils live inside families, so the fair comparison is mostly between coils for the same tank and then between systems.
Against the QF Meshed 0.2Ω coil in the same Vaporesso range: a meshed coil spreads heat over a larger sheet and tends to give crisper flavour at somewhat lower power, while the 0.15Ω strip is aimed at more vapour and a warmer draw at higher wattage. If you value flavour concentration and battery life, the higher-resistance mesh option may suit you better. If you want volume, the strip coil is the more natural pick. Both fit the same tanks, so many vapers keep both and swap depending on mood.
Against Voopoo PnP coils such as the PnP-VM6 0.15Ω: Voopoo's coils are widely used across a large number of pod-mod kits and are easy to find. They have a comparable resistance and a similar sub-ohm character, so the real difference is the ecosystem. If you own a Voopoo device, you buy Voopoo coils, and if you own a Vaporesso SKRR-family tank, you buy this. There is no cross-compatibility, so do not choose a coil on resistance alone.
Against Smok RPM 3 Meshed 0.23Ω coils: a slightly higher resistance and a more flavour-focused design, again for a different device family. Those coils suit lower wattages, which is gentler on battery life but gives less volume.
Against pod-system coils such as those in Uwell Caliburn kits: these are mouth-to-lung coils at 0.6 to 1.0Ω for low-power devices. They use less liquid and less battery, and suit new switchers who want a cigarette-like draw. They are a different category rather than a rival. If you are comparing a 0.15Ω coil against a Caliburn coil, the real question is whether you want a sub-ohm or a pod experience.
None of these coils is the right choice for everybody. The strip coil's strength is volume and warmth. Its weaknesses are higher liquid and battery consumption and a limited compatibility list. If your device and tank match, and you vape direct-to-lung on low-strength freebase, it is a reasonable choice, and the pack of three makes it a practical one to stock.

Vaporesso engineers some of the most reliable refillable kits on the market — XROS, Luxe XR and GTX-series tanks are standard recommendations for anyone moving beyond disposables. Pro-grade internals, sensible airflow and long-lived coils make it a safe pick for new and experienced vapers alike.
Most people use low-strength freebase e-liquid of 0mg, 3mg or 6mg with a sub-ohm coil at this resistance. The UK cap is 20mg/ml for e-liquid, but that is far too strong for high-power direct-to-lung vaping, so if you use nicotine salts keep them at 10mg or lower.
No. The pack contains three replacement coils only, with no battery, tank or e-liquid. Charge your own device with the cable it came with or a reputable USB-C cable, never leave it charging unattended, and recycle old batteries at a UK drop-off point rather than in household bins.
It is designed for compatible Vaporesso SKRR-family tanks, so check the coil code on your current coil or the tank listing before buying. You can change flavours, but rinse and dry the tank first, as the coil will hold traces of the previous liquid and may cause ghosting.
It varies with use, but roughly one to three weeks is typical, or around 30 to 50ml of e-liquid as a loose guide. Sweet liquids, high wattage and poor priming shorten life, while light fruit or menthol liquids and lower power help it last longer.
Divide the pack price by three to compare it with other coils, since the per-coil cost is what matters. At one to three weeks per coil, the pack covers several weeks of vaping and is much cheaper over time than buying new devices, particularly now single-use vapes are banned in Great Britain.
It suits adult direct-to-lung vapers who already own a compatible Vaporesso sub-ohm tank and device. Skip it if you use a different brand, vape mouth-to-lung, own a low-power pod kit, are under 18, or do not already smoke or vape.
Yes, we deliver across the UK, and an adult over 18 must be able to receive the order, as age checks apply to vaping products. Check the delivery options and timings shown at checkout for your address.
Coils are consumables, so they are not covered by a long warranty, but your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 still apply if an item is faulty or not as described. Contact us with your order number and photos as soon as possible, and note that opened or used coils generally cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.
The most common cause is insufficient priming. Remove the coil, drip e-liquid onto the cotton until it is saturated, refit it and let the filled tank stand for five to ten minutes before starting at low wattage. If the burnt taste continues after that, the wick is probably damaged and should be replaced.
Do not put used coils in the street or general recycling. Check your local council for vape or small electrical waste collection, use a retailer take-back scheme, or take them to a household waste recycling centre. Batteries and devices must always go to a proper drop-off point.

Honestly, I was unsure at first but this has been great. Flavour is strong and lasts the full session. No complaints at all.
Excellent all round. Will absolutely be ordering again. Customer service was helpful too.
Can't fault it. Quality is there, flavour is there, delivery was quick. What more could you want.
Picked this up on the multibuy deal and I'm stocked up for a while. Flavours are all on point.
Great product for the price point. Works exactly as advertised. No surprises, just a solid vape.
Not too strong, not too mild — just right. Good for all day use without being overpowering.
