Vaporesso Zero S Pods 1.2ohm Mesh at a glance

The Vaporesso Zero S Pods 1.2ohm Mesh are replacement refillable pods made for the Vaporesso Zero S pod system. They are a simple consumable. You fit a pod, fill it with your own e-liquid, and vape until the coil wears out. Because the coil is built into the pod, changing the pod is also how you change the coil, so maintenance comes down to a single click. There is no wicking, no wire and no cotton to learn about.

This listing covers the 1.2ohm mesh version. The resistance figure matters because it decides how the pod behaves with the device's fixed output. At 1.2ohm the pod sits at the tighter, lower-power end of the Vaporesso range. That usually means a cooler vape, lower e-liquid consumption and a draw that feels closer to a cigarette than to a sub-ohm tank. For anyone switching from smoking, or from a first-generation pen-style kit, that is a sensible starting point.

A quick summary of what to expect from this pod:

  • Type: replacement refillable pod with an integrated mesh coil
  • Resistance: 1.2ohm
  • Coil style: mesh rather than a wound-wire or ceramic-rod coil
  • Capacity: 2ml, which is the maximum tank size UK rules allow on nicotine vaping products
  • Filling: through a silicone-sealed fill port, using your own bottled e-liquid
  • Draw style: mouth-to-lung, with a restricted, tighter airflow
  • Works best with: nicotine salt e-liquids and standard 50/50 or 60/40 PG/VG blends

This page is written from the published design of the product and from how 1.2ohm mesh pods generally behave in low-power pod devices. Where we give figures such as puff counts or lifespan, they are working estimates and not guarantees, because real-world results depend on your e-liquid, your puffing habits and how often you fill. Read through the sections below to decide whether this pod suits how you vape.

What you get in the pack and which device it fits

You are buying pods only. The pack contains replacement pods with the 1.2ohm mesh coil already installed. It does not include a device, a charger or any e-liquid. Check the listing's variant selector for the exact number of pods per pack, as multipacks are common for this style of product and make the cost per pod lower than buying singles.

The pods are designed for the Vaporesso Zero S kit. Pod systems from one brand are not always interchangeable between generations, and Vaporesso has produced several different pod families over the years. Before ordering, look at the underside of your existing pod or the manual for your device and confirm that it says Zero S. Do not assume that a pod from another Vaporesso range will seat or fire correctly. If you are unsure, send us a message with a photo of your device and we will confirm compatibility before you order.

A few practical points about the pack:

  • Keep the pods in their packaging until you are ready to use them. The coil and wicking material can pick up dust and moisture if left loose.
  • Store them upright at room temperature, away from radiators, direct sunlight and the inside of a parked car.
  • Treat the pods as sealed consumables. Once opened and filled, a pod should be used rather than returned to storage with e-liquid inside.
  • You must be 18 or over to buy and use vaping products in the UK, and we may ask for age verification at checkout or on delivery.

Vaping products containing nicotine are for adult smokers and existing vapers. If you do not currently smoke or vape, there is no health reason to start.

How the mesh coil works

The coil is the part of the pod that turns e-liquid into vapour. In older pod systems this was a small spiral of wire wrapped around a cotton wick. A mesh coil swaps the spiral for a thin, perforated sheet of resistance metal folded or rolled against the wick. The sheet has far more surface area touching the cotton than a round wire does, so the heat spreads across a wider patch of wick instead of concentrating on a few points.

This design has some practical effects at a low-power setting:

  • More even heating. The liquid on the wick is warmed across a larger area, which tends to produce steadier vapour and fewer hot spots that can scorch the cotton.
  • Faster wicking. More of the cotton is in contact with the metal, so fresh liquid reaches the heated area quickly. This helps at 1.2ohm, where the pod fires gently and you do not want the wick starved between puffs.
  • Consistent flavour. Because the heat is spread out, the flavour you get on the first puff is similar to the flavour on the tenth.
  • Quick warm-up. The sheet is thin, so it reaches working temperature in a fraction of a second after you draw.

It is worth being realistic. At 1.2ohm and a fixed output, a mesh coil is not about making huge clouds. Mesh is most often marketed on high-powered sub-ohm tanks, but its benefits of even heating and good wicking carry over to small pods. You get a tidy, consistent vape rather than a dramatic one. The exact alloy used in the mesh is not listed in the product data we receive, so we will not name one here.

As with any coil, the lifespan is limited by what you put through it. Sugary, thick or heavily sweetened e-liquids leave residue on the mesh and shorten its life, while thinner, less sweet liquids tend to keep it clean for longer.

Performance and vapour delivery

The Zero S is an auto-draw device with a fixed output, so you do not adjust wattage. You inhale and the pod fires. With a 1.2ohm coil on a battery of this class, the power reaching the coil is modest, in the region of ten watts or a little more. The result is a warm rather than hot vapour, a light to moderate cloud, and a restricted airflow that suits a mouth-to-lung style of puffing.

In practice, this is what most users notice:

  • Draw feel. Tight and controlled, similar to drawing on a cigarette. You take the vapour into your mouth first, pause, then inhale.
  • Throat hit. Depends mainly on your nicotine strength and the type of nicotine. Nicotine salts feel smoother at a given strength, while freebase nicotine feels sharper.
  • Vapour volume. Moderate. Enough to feel satisfying for a mouth-to-lung vaper, but not designed for large clouds.
  • Consistency. The pod should deliver steady output until the e-liquid level drops very low or the coil nears the end of its life.

How many puffs per pod? There is no single figure, because it depends on puff length and e-liquid. As a rough working estimate, a fully filled 2ml pod at this resistance and power level gives somewhere around 300 to 500 puffs. Heavier or longer puffs sit at the lower end of that range, and short, light puffs at the upper end. Treat it as a planning figure rather than a promise.

A 2ml pod does not equal 2ml of vaping before the coil dies. You will typically refill the same pod several times. Many users get through a week or more of light to moderate use on one coil, while heavy daily users may want to swap the pod every five to seven days. When the flavour starts to taste flat or slightly burnt even with fresh liquid, that is the signal to change the pod.

Compared with a 0.6 or 0.8ohm pod, the 1.2ohm option uses less liquid and less battery per puff. It also gives a less intense vapour. If you find yourself wanting more cloud or a warmer draw, a lower-resistance pod from the same family, if one exists for your device, would be the next step.

Flavour profile and e-liquid pairing

Flavour is the main reason people choose a small mesh pod over a basic ceramic or cotton-wire alternative. Because the heat is spread over a large area and held at a moderate temperature, delicate flavours tend to come through clearly instead of being flattened by a hot coil. The 1.2ohm resistance helps further. Lower temperatures preserve more of the top notes in fruit, menthol and dessert profiles.

The pod does not have a flavour of its own, as you provide the e-liquid. Here is how different styles tend to behave:

  • Fruit and ice. Usually a strong match. Berry, citrus and tropical blends come through with good separation between the fruit and the cooling note.
  • Menthol and mint. Clean and sharp, with minimal coil taste. Menthol-heavy liquids can be slightly harsh at higher nicotine strengths, so consider stepping down if the throat hit is too much.
  • Tobacco. Works well because low power avoids the burnt edge that can ruin lighter tobacco blends.
  • Desserts, custards and heavily sweetened liquids. Enjoyable, but sweeteners leave more residue on the mesh. Expect to replace the pod sooner than you would with fruit or tobacco.
  • Thick, high-VG liquids. These can wick slowly at low power. A 50/50 or 60/40 blend is a safer choice for this pod.

Changing flavours. Mesh holds a small amount of the previous flavour in the cotton. When you switch from, say, a strong menthol to a delicate fruit, you may notice some carry-over, known as ghosting. Rinsing the pod with warm water, drying it fully and refilling usually reduces it. Better still, keep separate pods for separate flavour families. A multipack makes this easy: one pod for menthol and ice, one for fruit, one for tobacco or dessert.

If you use nicotine salts, you may find the flavour slightly rounder, because salts are usually mixed with a higher PG ratio and run well at this kind of low power. Freebase liquids in the 50/50 range are also fine.

Design, build quality and filling

The Zero S pod follows the small, push-fit format common to this category. The body is a clear plastic reservoir, so you can see the liquid level at a glance, with the coil unit sealed into the base and a moulded mouthpiece on top. The side or upper fill port is covered by a soft silicone plug that you pull back to fill and press down firmly to seal. Contacts at the base connect to the device when you push the pod in.

Points to look for when you handle the pods:

  • Fit. The pod should push into the device and sit flush with no wobble. If it feels loose, remove it and reseat it.
  • Silicone plug. It should sit completely flat after filling. A plug that is slightly lifted is the most common cause of leaks and gurgling.
  • Window. Use it to keep the liquid level above the coil. Never run the pod until the reservoir is visibly empty.
  • Mouthpiece. Shaped for comfort. Wipe it after use to keep it clean.

Filling tips. Use a bottle with a thin nozzle, hold the pod at a slight angle and fill slowly. Stop a few millimetres below the maximum level to leave room for air. Overfilling, or squeezing the bottle too hard, forces liquid into the airflow channel and leads to leaks and spitting. If you do spill, wipe the pod and the device contacts before inserting the pod.

Care. Pods are consumables, and the plastic can crack if dropped on a hard floor or squeezed. Carrying a filled pod in a tight pocket, especially after a change in altitude or temperature, raises the chance of leaks. If you travel, keep the pod upright and consider fitting a fresh one on arrival instead of relying on one that has been in a bag all day.

The pod is made of recyclable-grade materials in part, but it contains a coil and cotton, so it should not go into household recycling. See the section on value and disposal below for the right route.

Battery, power and charging with the Zero S

The pod itself has no battery. Power comes from the Zero S device, which uses a built-in rechargeable lithium battery in the same size band as most compact pod kits, around the mid six hundred to low eight hundred milliamp-hour range. The exact capacity is on your device's packaging and manual, and we recommend checking it there instead of relying on any generic figure.

With a 1.2ohm pod the battery is not under heavy strain. Higher resistance draws less current for the same voltage, so you generally get more puffs per charge than you would with a 0.6 or 0.8ohm pod. As a rule of thumb, a moderate vaper can expect a full day of use from a full charge, while a heavier vaper may need a top-up in the evening.

Charging guidance:

  • Charge through the USB-C port with a reputable charger and cable. Cheap, uncertified chargers are a common cause of battery problems.
  • Use a standard 5V phone-style charger or a computer port. Fast chargers are fine, as the device regulates the current.
  • Do not charge unattended or overnight, and do not charge on a bed, sofa or other soft surface.
  • Stop using the device if it becomes very hot, swells, smells or leaks.
  • Keep the charging port clear of liquid. If e-liquid has run into the port, wipe it out and let it dry before connecting power.

Battery safety and disposal. Lithium batteries should never go into household bins. Under the UK's waste electrical rules, retailers that sell vaping devices have to offer take-back, and many local recycling centres and supermarket drop-off points accept small electrical items. Do not squeeze or puncture a device, and keep it away from loose coins and keys in a pocket. When the battery no longer holds a useful charge, take the whole device to a drop-off point for recycling.

Used pods can go in the same place. Because they contain a small coil and a trace of liquid, they are treated as small electrical waste instead of ordinary plastic.

Choosing the right nicotine strength

UK rules cap nicotine in e-liquid at 20mg/ml (2%), whatever the device. That cap applies to refill bottles used in pods like this one, as well as to any other legal vaping product. Refill bottles are limited to 10ml for nicotine liquids and tanks are limited to 2ml, which is why Zero S pods hold two millilitres. Single-use disposable vapes were withdrawn from sale in Great Britain in June 2025, so refillable pods like this one are now the mainstream route for pod vaping.

The pod does not contain nicotine, so the strength is your choice when you buy e-liquid. At 1.2ohm and a low, fixed output, the pod suits the following broad ranges. These are general guides, not personal advice:

  • Nicotine salts, 10mg to 20mg. This is the usual match for a low-power mouth-to-lung pod. Salts deliver nicotine efficiently and feel smoother at these strengths than freebase.
  • Freebase, 6mg to 12mg. Works, but a stronger freebase liquid can feel harsh in the throat. Many people use the lower end of this range.
  • Low strength, 3mg to 6mg. Best for people who already vape and are reducing, or those who prefer a more relaxed, hobby-style vape.

Think about where you are starting from. Someone moving off a pack of cigarettes a day will usually need a higher strength at first, while a lighter smoker or a person cutting down will do fine with less. If you feel dizzy, sick or jittery after a few puffs, the strength is too high. If you find yourself chain-vaping and still craving, it is probably too low.

Remember that the same strength feels different depending on the device. A 20mg salt in a 1.2ohm pod is a gentle experience compared with 20mg in a stronger, higher-powered device, because less vapour is produced per puff. For support to stop smoking altogether, local NHS stop smoking services are a free and well-regarded option, and vaping can be part of a plan alongside them.

Nicotine is addictive. Do not use nicotine products if you are under 18, pregnant or have a heart condition without speaking to a health professional first.

Who these pods are for, and who should look elsewhere

The 1.2ohm mesh option is a specific tool. It does a few things well and leaves other jobs to different products.

These pods are a good fit for:

  • Smokers who are switching. The tight draw and modest vapour are close to what a cigarette feels like, which can make the change easier.
  • People who want low maintenance. No coils to build, no wicking and no adjustments. Fill, click in, vape.
  • Nicotine salt users. Salts run well at this resistance and power level.
  • Flavour-focused vapers who like to keep several liquids on the go. Pods are cheap enough to dedicate one per flavour family.
  • Anyone wanting a discreet vape. Lower output means smaller clouds and less lingering vapour.

You may want to look elsewhere if:

  • You like big clouds, a warm direct-to-lung draw or a lot of airflow. A sub-ohm pod or tank is better suited.
  • You want to adjust wattage or airflow. The Zero S uses a fixed output, so there is nothing to tune.
  • You prefer to build your own coils or want the lowest possible running cost from rebuildable parts.
  • You need a long-lasting battery for heavy, all-day use. A bigger device would serve you better.
  • You use very thick, high-VG liquids, which can wick slowly at this resistance.

If you have never smoked or vaped, these pods are not for you. Vaping is a harm-reduction tool for adult smokers, not a recreational product for people who do not use nicotine already. If you are unsure which resistance to pick, a 1.2ohm pod is a safe starting choice for a first-time pod user switching from cigarettes, and you can try a different resistance later if it feels too light.

How to fit, prime and use your pod

Setting up a pod takes a few minutes, and the priming step is the one people most often skip. Following the order below gives the coil the best chance of lasting its full life.

  • Step 1: Prepare. Wash and dry your hands. Remove the pod from its packaging and peel off any protective film or cap from the mouthpiece and base.
  • Step 2: Open the fill port. Pull back the silicone plug carefully. Do not tear it or remove it fully if it is attached.
  • Step 3: Fill slowly. Use a thin-nozzled bottle and fill at an angle. Stop a few millimetres below the top. Avoid pouring liquid down the central chimney.
  • Step 4: Close the port. Press the plug flat and check that it is fully seated.
  • Step 5: Wait. Leave the filled pod standing upright for five to ten minutes. This lets the cotton absorb the liquid evenly. Thicker liquids need the longer wait.
  • Step 6: Insert. Push the pod into the device until it seats with a gentle click.
  • Step 7: Prime the coil. Take two or three short, gentle draws before your first proper puff. This pulls liquid into the mesh and avoids a dry first hit.
  • Step 8: Vape normally. Draw slowly for two to three seconds, pause, then inhale. Avoid very long, hard pulls.

Refilling. Refill when the liquid level reaches the lower third of the window. Letting the pod run empty is the quickest way to burn the coil. Wipe the mouthpiece and the base contacts before reinserting if you have spilled anything.

Changing pods. Pull the pod straight out of the device. Fit the new pod and repeat the fill and wait process. Do not reuse a pod from a different flavour without rinsing it first.

Everyday habits that help. Take breaks between puffs of at least ten to fifteen seconds, which lets the wick refill. Keep the device upright when not in use. Do not leave a filled pod in a hot place. If you are going to leave the device for several days, remove the pod and store it upright.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most issues with small pods are caused by one of a handful of things: a dry or flooded wick, a loose plug, a dirty contact or a tired coil. Work through the points below before deciding that a pod is faulty.

  • Burnt or acrid taste. Usually a dry wick or a coil at the end of its life. Check the liquid level, refill if low, wait a few minutes, then take gentle draws. If the taste persists with fresh liquid, replace the pod. Very sweet liquids burn out coils sooner.
  • Weak or flat flavour. Often a sign of residue on the mesh or vaping the same flavour for several days. Try a different liquid to rule out flavour fatigue, or fit a new pod.
  • Gurgling or spitting. Caused by condensation or by too much liquid in the airflow path. Remove the pod, blow gently through the mouthpiece to clear it, wipe the base and reinsert.
  • Leaking. Check that the silicone plug is flat and has not been stretched. Do not overfill. Avoid squeezing the pod while carrying it. If it keeps leaking with a fresh plug seat, the pod may be defective, so contact us.
  • No vapour or device does not fire. Check the battery level and charge if needed. Remove the pod, wipe the contacts with a dry cloth or cotton bud and reinsert firmly. Try a new pod to separate a pod fault from a device fault.
  • Device flashing or shutting off. Many compact pod devices use indicator patterns to signal low battery, a short circuit or no pod detected. The manual for your device lists what each means. A pod seated badly or with liquid on the contacts is the usual cause.
  • Dry hits right after filling. You have not given the cotton time to soak. Wait the full five to ten minutes next time and prime with gentle draws.
  • Strong throat hit. Reduce nicotine strength, lengthen the gap between puffs or switch from freebase to a salt of lower strength.

If you have tried these steps and the pod still misbehaves, do not keep forcing it. Take a clear photo of the pod and note your device model, then get in touch with your order number. We would rather replace a defective item than have you struggle with it.

Value for money and how it compares

The upfront price of a multipack of pods looks small, but the better question is cost per week of use. A pod that lasts a week or more with moderate use costs a modest amount per day, and a multipack lowers that further. Add the cost of e-liquid, which for a 1.2ohm pod is usually low, because the coil uses less liquid per puff than a sub-ohm setup. Taken together, running a Zero S on these pods is among the more economical ways to vape, and cheaper than buying cigarettes by a wide margin for most smokers.

Value also depends on how long you keep a pod. You can often extend life by choosing less sweet liquids, avoiding long chain-vaping sessions and never running the pod dry. Equally, replacing a pod as soon as the flavour fades is false economy in reverse: a worn coil wastes liquid and gives a poor experience.

How does it compare with similar products? A fair comparison, without naming favourites:

  • Against other low-power 1.0 to 1.2ohm pods from rival brands. The experience is broadly similar. Differences come down to pod shape, fill method and the exact coil construction. Some competitors offer larger batteries or adjustable airflow, which the Zero S does not.
  • Against ceramic-coil pods. Ceramic coils tend to have a long life and a neutral taste, whereas mesh tends to give brighter flavour and faster wicking. Which matters more depends on you.
  • Against Vaporesso's own lower-resistance pods. Lower ohm values give warmer, larger vapour and use more liquid and battery. The 1.2ohm option is the gentler of the choices.
  • Against pre-filled pods. Pre-filled pods are convenient, but you are locked into the flavours on offer and the cost per millilitre is typically higher. A refillable pod gives you free choice of liquid.

Disposal and recycling. Spent pods, like batteries and devices, should be taken to a recycling drop-off point that accepts small electrical items, which includes many household recycling centres and shops that sell vaping products. Do not put them in household bins or flush any liquid down a drain.

In short, these pods are good value for adult smokers who want a simple, low-maintenance vape with clear flavour. They are not the right pick for people who want power, adjustability or large clouds, and in that case you would be better looking at a different class of device.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Zero-mess flavour change — snap in, done
  • Consistent draw from a factory-primed coil
  • Long shelf-life, easy to travel with

Cons

  • Costs more per ml than freestanding e-liquid
  • Pods are proprietary to a specific device

Frequently asked questions

What nicotine strength should I use in the Vaporesso Zero S 1.2ohm pods?

At 1.2ohm and a fixed low output, most people use nicotine salts between 10mg and 20mg, or freebase liquid between 6mg and 12mg. UK law caps e-liquid at 20mg/ml, so you will not find anything stronger on sale. Start at the lower end if you are a light smoker and move up only if you are not satisfied.

How do I charge the Zero S device that these pods fit?

The pods do not charge. You charge the Zero S device through its USB-C port using a reputable cable and charger. Do not leave it charging unattended or overnight, and stop using it if it becomes unusually hot.

Can I use different flavours in the same pod?

You can, but some of the previous flavour stays in the cotton and can carry over, especially if you switch from menthol to a delicate fruit. Rinsing the pod with warm water and drying it helps. A better approach is to keep one pod for each flavour family, and a multipack makes that practical.

How long does one pod last?

It depends on your e-liquid and puffing habits. Many people get roughly a week or more from one coil with moderate use, and heavy daily users may change it every five to seven days. A filled 2ml pod gives somewhere around 300 to 500 puffs. Change the pod when flavour turns flat or slightly burnt even with fresh liquid.

Is the 1.2ohm mesh pod good value?

For adult smokers who want a simple, low-maintenance vape, yes. The coil uses less liquid and battery than lower-resistance options, and multipacks reduce the cost per pod. It is less suitable if you want big clouds or adjustable power.

Who should and shouldn't buy these pods?

They suit smokers switching to vaping, nicotine salt users and people who want a tight, cigarette-like draw. They are not for people who have never smoked or vaped, anyone under 18, or those who want sub-ohm clouds, adjustable wattage or very thick high-VG liquids.

Are these pods compatible with other Vaporesso devices?

They are designed for the Vaporesso Zero S. Vaporesso has several pod families and they are not all interchangeable, so check that your device is a Zero S before ordering. If you are unsure, message us a photo of your device and we will confirm.

Do the pods come with e-liquid or nicotine?

No. The pods are empty and refillable, and they contain no nicotine on their own. You fill them with your own bottled e-liquid in the strength you choose, and nicotine bottles in the UK are limited to 10ml.

How do I recycle used pods and batteries?

Do not put them in household bins. Take used pods, spent devices and batteries to a drop-off point that accepts small electrical waste, such as a local recycling centre or a shop that sells vaping products. Never flush leftover liquid down a drain.

How long does UK delivery take, and what if my pods are faulty?

We ship across the UK, and the delivery page lists current options, prices and cut-off times for next-day or standard service. If a pod arrives faulty or damaged, contact us with your order number and a photo and we will arrange a replacement or refund under our returns policy. Opened, filled or used pods cannot be returned for hygiene reasons unless they are defective.
