Overview: what the VooPoo Vinci Spark 100 Vape Kit is

The VooPoo Vinci Spark 100 Vape Kit is a refillable pod-style device from VooPoo, the Shenzhen manufacturer widely known in the UK for the Drag mod family and the Vinci pod line. Within the Vinci range, the Spark 100 is the higher-output model. The '100' in the name points to a maximum output of up to 100 watts, which is far above the 10 to 30 watt range of the entry-level pod kits most people begin with. In practical terms it is a compact pod mod: the adjustable power of a mod, packaged with the simple refill-and-click pod format that people have come to expect from modern kits.

If you are coming from a disposable, the change in approach is the main thing to understand. A disposable is a sealed unit with a fixed amount of liquid and a battery that you throw away. Single-use disposables have also been banned from sale in the UK since 1 June 2025, so refillable kits like this are now the standard route for anyone who wants a vape that is not a one-off purchase. With a kit you buy the hardware once, then buy e-liquid in 10ml bottles (the UK maximum for nicotine-containing liquid) and refill the pod whenever it runs low. Over a few weeks, that usually works out cheaper than repeatedly buying disposables, and it gives you control over flavour and nicotine strength that a sealed unit never will.

This page walks through what the Vinci Spark 100 offers, how it performs, how to set it up, and where its limits are. We have tried to be straightforward about the places where a different device might suit you better, because a kit that does not match your habits is wasted money whatever its specification says. The range is sold in seven colourways, and the hardware is identical across them, so choose on appearance and in-stock availability rather than any difference in performance.

A typical kit includes the device, a refillable pod with a coil fitted, a USB-C charging cable and the manual. Exact contents can vary by batch, so check the product listing and the box on arrival.

Key specifications at a glance

Before getting into the detail, here is a summary of what you are buying. Figures marked as typical are category norms for a 100-watt-class pod device, not values we can promise for every unit. The printed packaging and manual are always the authoritative source for your specific batch.

  • Maximum output: up to 100W, adjustable, so you can run it gently for a tighter draw or push it up for a warmer, denser vapour.
  • Format: refillable pod system with a replaceable coil, so you buy liquid in bottles rather than pre-filled cartridges.
  • Pod capacity: UK-format pods are limited to 2ml of liquid. Expect this figure on any pod sold legally in the UK.
  • Charging: rechargeable via USB-C, the same connector used by most current phones and tablets.
  • Battery: a device in this class typically carries a battery in the region of 1,500 to 3,000mAh, depending on whether it is built in or uses a removable cell. Check the box for the exact figure.
  • Coil system: VooPoo's pod-and-coil ecosystem, with replacement coils available in a spread of resistances. Confirm the coil code printed on the pod before ordering spares.
  • Activation: draw-activated and/or button-activated depending on mode, with on-device controls for power adjustment.
  • Safety features: short-circuit protection, low-resistance detection and over-time cut-off are standard on devices of this type.
  • Nicotine compatibility: works with nicotine salt and freebase liquids, with strength advice depending on the wattage you run. We cover that in detail below.

The headline number to remember is the 2ml pod. The device is capable of high power, but the pod size is dictated by UK rules, so you will refill more often than you would on a larger tank in other markets. That is a trade-off to weigh up if you tend to vape heavily through the day.

Performance and vapour delivery

The defining feature of the Vinci Spark 100 is the amount of range it gives you. At low power, around 15 to 25 watts with a higher-resistance coil, it behaves like a conventional mouth-to-lung pod kit: a snug, slightly restricted draw, modest vapour and a noticeable throat sensation. If you are used to the feel of a disposable, this is where you will find the closest match.

As you raise the wattage with a lower-resistance coil, the character changes. Vapour gets warmer, denser and softer on the throat, flavour intensity rises, and the draw becomes looser so you can inhale straight to the lungs. This is the direct-to-lung style, and it is the reason a 100 watt ceiling exists. You will rarely need all 100 watts. Most coils have a recommended wattage band printed on the side, and running at the upper end of that band tends to give the fullest flavour, while running well beyond it leads to burnt cotton and a short coil life.

Puff delivery in realistic terms. A refillable kit does not have a puff count in the way a disposable does, because you refill it. As a rough working guide, a full 2ml pod at moderate power gives somewhere in the region of 400 to 600 draws, with the figure falling as you raise the wattage and rising if you stay low. Treat that as an estimate rather than a promise: puff length, liquid thickness and coil condition all move the number.

Consistency. The thing that separates a good pod device from a poor one is how steady the output feels over the life of a pod. The Vinci Spark 100 holds its output well while the battery is above roughly 20 percent, then output can feel slightly softer as voltage drops. That is normal behaviour for any lithium-powered device, so do not mistake it for a faulty coil.

  • Low power (15 to 25W): tighter draw, closer to a disposable, suits 10 to 20mg nicotine salt.
  • Mid power (25 to 50W): balanced vapour and flavour, a sensible starting zone for most users.
  • High power (50 to 100W): dense, warm vapour and strong flavour, usually paired with lower nicotine strengths.

Flavour profile and e-liquid pairings

Because this is a refillable kit, the flavour comes from whatever liquid you put in it, but the device still shapes how that liquid tastes. Higher wattage with a low-resistance coil rounds off sharp edges and opens up the sweeter and creamier notes. Lower wattage keeps flavours crisp, which suits menthol and mint particularly well. It is worth thinking in categories before you buy your first bottle.

  • Blue razz and berry ice: sweet blueberry-raspberry blends with a cooling finish. They stay bright at low and mid power and become more jammy as you push the wattage up.
  • Strawberry and watermelon: juicy, light-bodied fruit blends that work across the whole power range and tend to be forgiving if you are still dialling in your settings.
  • Mango and peach: richer tropical flavours that benefit from a slightly warmer vape, so the mid-power band suits them well.
  • Menthol and peppermint: clean, cooling profiles that taste sharpest at lower power. Many ex-smokers find these an easy switch.
  • Tobacco and cream tobacco: savoury, slightly nutty profiles that benefit from a modest wattage and a snug draw for the closest cigarette-like feel.
  • Vanilla custard and dessert blends: thicker liquids that can condense on the coil, so pick a sweeter-friendly coil and avoid pushing the wattage beyond the coil's range.
  • Cola and soft-drink styles: fizzy, slightly sharp profiles that come across well at mid power with a loose draw.

Liquid thickness matters more than most newcomers expect. Liquids are made from propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG), and the ratio affects how the coil wicks. A 50/50 blend suits most pod coils. Very high VG liquids (70VG and above) are thicker and can starve a small coil at low wattage, resulting in dry hits. If a pod arrives with a fresh coil and you notice a weak, muted flavour, try a thinner liquid before assuming the hardware is at fault.

Allow around 5 to 10 minutes after filling for the cotton to soak, and prime a new coil with a few drops directly on the wick if the coil design allows. Flavour fatigue, where a favourite liquid seems to lose its taste after a few days of constant use, is normal. Rotating between two or three liquids keeps things interesting and also lets you gauge whether a flavour has faded because of the coil or just because you have grown used to it.

Design and build quality

VooPoo has a reputation for solid industrial design, and the Vinci Spark 100 follows that through. The body is a compact, rounded shape that sits comfortably in one hand and slides into a jacket or jeans pocket without much bulk. It is noticeably larger than a slim entry-level pod kit, which is the price of the larger battery and the output electronics, but it is still much smaller than a traditional box mod.

The finish is a textured or matte coating depending on colourway, and this matters in daily use. A glossy surface looks sharp when new but shows fingerprints and scratches quickly. Textured finishes hide marks and give a more secure grip, which counts for something if you carry the device loose in a bag or pocket with keys.

Pod fit. The pod seats with a firm click and a small, positive magnetic or friction lock, depending on the design revision. A pod that wobbles is a common source of leaking and poor contact, so give it a gentle tug after fitting. It should feel solid without needing force to remove.

Controls and display. A device with adjustable wattage needs a way to show you what it is doing. Expect a button or buttons for power and mode, and an indicator for battery and output. Learn the button sequences in the manual in the first week, because the lock, unlock and power-adjust shortcuts are the part that most often confuses new users.

Durability notes. Plastic and zinc-alloy components in this price bracket cope well with normal daily use but are not designed for repeated drops onto hard floors. The USB-C port is the most vulnerable point, so avoid charging it in a damp environment and keep lint out of the socket. If you vape outdoors in wet weather, a small pouch or case keeps moisture and grit away from the pod connection.

  • Pocket-friendly footprint for a 100W-class device.
  • Colourways to suit different tastes, with identical internals.
  • Replaceable pod and coil, so wear and tear on the consumable part does not mean replacing the whole device.

Battery life and charging

Battery behaviour is where a high-wattage device differs most from a basic pod kit. Power draw rises sharply as you increase the wattage, so the same battery can last a full day at 20 watts and only a few hours at 60 watts. When people say a kit has poor battery life, the cause is usually the wattage setting rather than a defect.

As a working guide, a battery in the 1,500 to 3,000mAh range will give roughly a full day of moderate use at low to mid wattage for a light to average vaper, and noticeably less if you vape heavily or run at the upper end of the range. Higher-resistance coils at lower power are the most economical combination, while the lowest-resistance coils at maximum power are the hungriest.

Charging. The Vinci Spark 100 charges over USB-C. Use a reputable 5V charger rated for at least 1A; anything from a phone or tablet charger is usually fine. Avoid cheap unbranded chargers and the ports on very old appliances, because inconsistent voltage is bad for lithium cells. A full charge typically takes in the region of one to two hours, depending on battery capacity and charger output.

Battery care tips.

  • Do not leave the device charging overnight on a bed, sofa or any soft surface. Charge on a hard, non-flammable surface, and unplug when the indicator shows full.
  • Avoid letting the battery sit at zero for days at a time. Top up at around 20 percent rather than running it to a complete stop.
  • Do not leave the device in a hot car or in direct sunlight. Heat is the quickest way to shorten lithium cell life.
  • If the battery looks swollen, the casing is warm while idle, or you notice a chemical smell, stop using it and take it to a recycling point. Do not attempt to open it.
  • Keep loose coins and keys out of the pocket the device is in, as contact with the metal parts can cause a short.

Pass-through use. Using the device while it is plugged in is possible on many models, but it is not ideal. Heat from charging plus heat from vaping is hard on the cell. If you need to vape while charging, keep the wattage low and do it on a hard surface.

Coil and pod technology

The coil is the part that turns liquid into vapour, and it is the part that wears out first. In a pod system the coil is built into the pod or sits in a replaceable head that clicks into the pod, so changing it is a matter of seconds with no tools or rewrapping.

The VooPoo ecosystem uses a family of coils with different resistances, typically measured in ohms. Lower resistance means more power is delivered to the wick, producing more vapour and a warmer draw. Higher resistance gives a cooler vape and a tighter draw, with less battery use.

  • Higher-resistance coils (around 0.7 to 1.0 ohm): suited to the 15 to 25W range, a snug mouth-to-lung style and nicotine salts at 10 to 20mg.
  • Mid-resistance coils (around 0.4 to 0.6 ohm): a flexible middle ground that covers most users and wattages up to the 40W region.
  • Low-resistance coils (below roughly 0.3 ohm): intended for higher wattages and a looser, direct-to-lung draw. Use lower nicotine with these, and expect to refill the pod frequently.

Resistance bands and coil codes vary, so always read the wattage range printed on the coil and stay inside it. Running a coil outside its range causes dry hits, burnt flavour and early failure.

Mesh versus traditional wire. Many modern coils use a mesh element rather than a wound wire. A mesh surface has more contact area with the cotton, which means faster wicking, more even heating and usually better flavour. The trade-off is that mesh coils are more sensitive to very thick liquids and to being run dry.

Coil lifespan. Expect roughly one to three weeks from a coil, depending on how much you vape, the sweetness of your liquid and the wattage you run. Dessert and heavily sweetened liquids caramelise on the coil faster and shorten its life. Signs that a coil is finished include a burnt or flat taste, reduced vapour, gurgling that does not clear, and a darkened cotton wick. Replace the coil when you notice any of these rather than trying to push through, as a worn coil produces poor flavour and wastes liquid.

Priming a new coil. Fill the pod, let it rest for five to ten minutes, then take a few gentle draws without pressing the fire button before vaping at power. This allows the cotton to saturate and avoids burning a fresh coil dry in its first minute.

Choosing nicotine strength

Nicotine choice is a safety issue as much as a taste one, and it matters more on a 100-watt device than on a basic pod kit. In the UK, nicotine-containing e-liquid is capped at 20mg/ml in 10ml bottles, and refillable pods and tanks are limited to 2ml. The cap is the same for every nicotine liquid on the legal market, but the sensible strength for you depends on how you are going to vape it.

Nicotine salts versus freebase. Nicotine salt liquids are smoother at a given strength, so they are available at 10mg and 20mg and are usually used with higher-resistance coils at lower wattage. Freebase nicotine liquids are harsher and are typically sold in 3mg, 6mg and 12mg strengths for use with lower-resistance coils at higher wattage.

  • Heavy smokers (20 or more cigarettes a day): start with 20mg nicotine salt at low to mid wattage, or 10mg nicotine salt if you find 20mg too strong.
  • Moderate smokers (10 to 20 a day): 10 to 18mg is the usual starting zone; at low wattage, 10mg salt often fits well.
  • Light smokers or social vapers: 5 to 10mg nicotine salt, or 3mg freebase at higher wattage.
  • Ex-smokers stepping down: lower strengths such as 3mg to 6mg freebase suit a sub-ohm style, and many people drift downward over time.
  • Non-smokers: there is no reason to start vaping nicotine. If you want to try flavour, use a 0mg liquid.

Wattage and nicotine are linked. The most important point about this device is that high wattage plus high nicotine is a poor combination. At 60 or 80 watts with a low-resistance coil you inhale far more vapour per puff than at 20 watts, and with it far more nicotine. Using 20mg salt at that setting can cause dizziness, nausea, a racing heart and a harsh throat hit. If you plan to run the Spark 100 near its upper range, use a low-strength freebase liquid (3 to 6mg) or a 0mg shortfill with a nicotine shot added, rather than 20mg salt.

If you feel lightheaded or sick after vaping, stop, sit down, drink some water and try a lower strength next time. Nicotine is addictive, and anyone who does not already use nicotine products should not start. If you are trying to quit smoking, the NHS and local stop-smoking services offer free support that works well alongside switching to vaping.

Who the Vinci Spark 100 suits, and who should skip it

A device is only worth buying if it fits how you vape. Here is an honest summary of who gets the most from the Vinci Spark 100 and who might be better served elsewhere.

It is a good fit if you:

  • Have used a basic pod kit or disposable and want more control over power and flavour without moving to a full mod and tank.
  • Like the idea of starting at a tight, cigarette-like draw and having room to move toward a looser, warmer vape as your preferences develop.
  • Want one device that can handle both nicotine salts at low power and freebase liquids at higher power.
  • Prefer the convenience of a click-in pod and coil to building or rewicking coils.
  • Are happy to refill a 2ml pod a few times a day in exchange for a compact, pocketable device.

You might want to look elsewhere if you:

  • Are completely new to vaping and want the simplest possible start. A fixed-output pod kit with a single button and no menu is less to learn and often cheaper. The Spark 100 does not demand expertise, but the extra settings can be confusing at first.
  • Want all-day battery with no thought required. Higher power means higher drain. A low-wattage pod kit with a similar battery size will last longer between charges.
  • Vape very heavily at high wattage. A 2ml pod will be empty quickly, and you will spend more on liquid and coils. A larger tank on a regular mod holds more liquid, although such products are bulkier.
  • Do not currently smoke or vape nicotine. No nicotine product is appropriate for a non-smoker. Vaping is not risk free, and it is intended for adults who smoke and want an alternative.
  • Are under 18. It is illegal to sell vaping products to anyone under 18 in the UK, and to buy them on behalf of someone who is.

Used responsibly by an adult smoker, a refillable kit like this one is a widely recommended route away from tobacco. It is not a casual accessory, and it is not a risk-free product, so treat it with the same care you would any rechargeable battery device.

How to set up and use the Vinci Spark 100

Setup takes a couple of minutes and is straightforward even if you have never used a refillable device. Follow these steps in order for the cleanest start.

  • Step 1, charge first. Connect the USB-C cable and charge the battery fully before first use. This is usually one to two hours.
  • Step 2, fill the pod. Remove the pod from the device. Open the fill port, which is usually a silicone plug on the side or underside. Fill with liquid up to the maximum line, never over it, and press the plug firmly back in. Avoid filling through the central airflow tube.
  • Step 3, let it soak. Wait five to ten minutes so the cotton saturates. Skipping this step is the most common cause of a burnt first coil.
  • Step 4, seat the pod. Push the pod into the device until it clicks, and give it a gentle tug to confirm it is secure.
  • Step 5, switch on. Most devices in this class switch on and off with five rapid presses of the fire button. Check your manual for the exact sequence, because it varies by revision.
  • Step 6, set your power. Start low, around 20 to 25 watts with a mid or high resistance coil, and adjust up in small steps until the flavour and vapour feel right.
  • Step 7, take a few priming draws. Draw gently without firing, then take a few short puffs before settling into your usual rhythm.

Inhale style. With higher-resistance coils at low power, draw slowly into your mouth first, then inhale. With low-resistance coils at higher power, a direct breath into the lungs is more typical. Match the style to the draw resistance rather than forcing one approach.

Day-to-day care. Wipe the pod connection points with a dry cloth if they get sticky. Do not leave a nearly empty pod in the device, because a coil running on a dry wick burns out quickly. Top up whenever the liquid drops to the lower third. When changing flavour, empty the pod, rinse with lukewarm water, dry completely and refill, as flavours otherwise mix.

Storage and travel. Store the device upright where possible, away from heat. If you are travelling, turn it off, lock it, and carry it in your hand luggage rather than checked baggage, as lithium batteries should not be in the hold. Empty the pod before flying, as changes in cabin pressure can force liquid out.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most problems with pod devices come from a short list of causes, and nearly all can be fixed at home in a couple of minutes. Work through these before assuming the hardware is faulty.

  • Leaking from the pod or device. Usually caused by overfilling, a loose fill plug, or a pod that is not fully seated. Fill only to the line, press the plug fully home and re-seat the pod. Very thin liquids and rapid temperature changes can also cause weeping. If the leak continues, replace the pod.
  • Dry or burnt taste. Typically a coil that was not primed, a pod that has run low, or a wattage set above the coil's range. Fill the pod, wait ten minutes and lower the power by five watts. If the burnt taste returns after a priming period, the coil has likely worn out.
  • Weak or muted flavour. A tired coil, a very thick liquid, or flavour fatigue. Try a different flavour for a day. If the taste is still flat, fit a new coil.
  • Gurgling or spitting. Condensation in the airflow channel. Remove the pod, tap it gently on a tissue, blow through the mouthpiece and refit. Reducing the amount of liquid in the pod slightly can help.
  • Device will not fire. Check the battery, check the pod is clicked in properly, and check the device is unlocked. A pod or coil that has lost contact will often show a fault indicator. Wipe the contact points and try again.
  • Device will not charge. Try a different cable and a different charger. Check that the USB-C port is free of lint, and ensure you are using a standard 5V source. If it still does not charge, stop using it and contact the retailer.
  • Hot device. A little warmth during heavy use is normal. A device that is hot while idle, or that smells of burning, should be unplugged, left somewhere safe, and not used further.
  • Button seems unresponsive. The device may be locked. Check the manual for the lock and unlock sequence, which is usually a rapid press pattern.

When to replace the coil rather than troubleshoot. If you have already topped up, rested the pod and adjusted the power but the vape still tastes flat or burnt, the coil is done. Coils are consumables, and replacing one is cheaper and quicker than trying to rescue it.

Disposal. Old pods, batteries and devices should never go in household bins or normal recycling bags. Take them to a household waste recycling centre or a retailer take-back point, so the battery is handled safely.

Value for money and how it compares

The sensible way to judge value on a refillable kit is to look at cost over several weeks, not just the sticker price. A disposable might be cheaper on day one, but each one lasts a limited time and is thrown away, and as noted earlier, single-use disposables can no longer be sold in the UK. A kit costs more upfront, but afterwards your recurring costs are liquid and the occasional coil.

A rough illustration: a pack of replacement coils and a few bottles of liquid will usually cover several weeks of moderate use, where that same period of vaping would need many disposables. Exact figures depend on the price you pay and how much you vape, so compare current prices before buying.

How it compares fairly.

  • Against entry-level pod kits such as the Vaporesso XROS series, Uwell Caliburn range and Oxva Xlim line. Those devices are generally simpler, often cheaper, and tuned for the 15 to 30 watt mouth-to-lung range with long battery life. The Spark 100 offers more headroom and more flexibility, but if you only ever want a tight draw at low power, you may not use what you pay for.
  • Against other compact pod mods with adjustable output. These sit closer in specification. The Vinci line has a solid reputation for build quality and a decent coil ecosystem, but differences in menu layout, pod design and coil availability are worth checking against your preference.
  • Against a traditional mod and tank. A larger setup can offer bigger capacity, longer battery and greater customisation, but it is bulkier, more complicated and takes longer to learn. The Spark 100 is the more convenient option; a mod and tank gives more control if you want it.

Running costs to consider. Coils are the main recurring cost, followed by liquid. Using a coil within its recommended wattage range, avoiding very sweet liquids and priming properly all extend coil life and reduce what you spend.

Our assessment. The Vinci Spark 100 is good value for a vaper who wants room to grow, or who wants a single device to handle both lower- and higher-power vaping. It is less compelling if you only want a simple, low-power pod kit, in which case a cheaper, simpler device does the job just as well.

Do not buy more nicotine strength than you need, do not buy a device for someone under 18, and do not charge or store it unattended. Taken care of properly, a kit like this will serve you for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Which nicotine strength should I choose for the Vinci Spark 100?

It depends on the wattage you run. At low power (15 to 25W) with a higher-resistance coil, 10mg or 20mg nicotine salt is the usual choice. At higher power (50W and above) with a low-resistance coil, use a low-strength freebase liquid of 3 to 6mg, because you inhale far more vapour per puff. The UK maximum for any nicotine liquid is 20mg/ml.

How do I charge it and how long does it take?

Charge over USB-C using a standard 5V charger rated at 1A or more. A full charge typically takes around one to two hours, depending on the battery size. Charge on a hard surface, do not leave it plugged in unattended overnight, and stop using it if it becomes hot or swells.

Can I swap flavours, and what are the seven variants?

The device is not tied to a single flavour, because you fill the pod with whatever e-liquid you like. The seven options in this range are colourways, and the hardware is the same across all of them. To change flavour, empty the pod, rinse it with lukewarm water, dry it fully and refill. Fitting a fresh coil for a very different flavour stops tastes mixing.

How long will a coil and a pod last?

A 2ml pod gives roughly 400 to 600 draws at moderate power, and you will refill it several times a day if you vape heavily. A coil typically lasts one to three weeks depending on use, wattage and how sweet your liquid is. Replace it when you notice a burnt or flat taste.

Is it better value than disposables?

Over a few weeks, usually yes. A refillable kit costs more at the start, but your ongoing costs are liquid and coils, rather than a new device every few days. Single-use disposables have also been banned from sale in the UK since 1 June 2025, so a refillable kit is the standard alternative.

Who should and should not buy this kit?

It suits adult smokers or existing vapers who want adjustable power in a compact pod format. It is less suitable if you want the simplest possible device, if you need very long battery life at low effort, or if you vape heavily and dislike refilling a small pod. It should never be bought by or for anyone under 18, and non-smokers should not start using nicotine.

Can I use 20mg nicotine salt at 100 watts?

We advise against it. A high wattage with a low-resistance coil delivers a large amount of vapour, and 20mg salt at that setting can cause dizziness, nausea and a harsh throat hit. Use 20mg salt only at low power, and choose 3 to 6mg freebase liquid or a shortfill with a nicotine shot if you want to run it at higher wattage.

Do you deliver across the UK, and is age checked?

Yes, we deliver to UK addresses. Delivery options and timescales are shown at checkout. As these are age-restricted products, you must be 18 or over, and age may be checked at order and on delivery. Please make sure someone aged 18 or over is available to receive the parcel.

What warranty and returns apply?

Faulty goods are covered by your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right to reject a faulty item within 30 days of delivery. If your kit arrives damaged, does not charge or does not fire, contact us with your order number and a short description or photo. Consumables such as opened e-liquid and used coils are generally not returnable for hygiene reasons.

How do I dispose of it when it stops working?

Never put a vape, pod or battery in household rubbish or ordinary recycling. Take it to your local household waste recycling centre or a retailer take-back point so the lithium battery can be handled safely. Keep used batteries away from heat and metal objects until you can drop them off.
