Wenax M1 V2 Replacement Pods by Geek Vape: the overview

The Wenax M1 V2 Replacement Pods by Geek Vape are consumable pods for the Wenax M1 family of compact pod systems. A pod system splits the work into two parts: a reusable battery body that you charge and keep, and a small pod that holds the e-liquid and the coil. The body lasts for months or years. The pod is the part that wears out, because the coil inside it slowly degrades as it heats and cools through thousands of draws. That is why replacement pods exist, and why the price and fit of a pod matter just as much as the price of the kit.

This listing is priced at £6.95 and comes in two variants. It sits in our refillable pod category, which means the pod is filled with your own e-liquid rather than arriving pre-filled. That distinction matters for UK buyers. Single-use disposables are no longer legal to sell in the UK, so refillable pod systems like the Wenax M1 have taken over much of the ground they covered: small, pocketable, simple to use, and with a running cost that is easier to control.

What you get with a replacement pod is a fresh coil, a clean tank chamber and a new mouthpiece, so any flavour ghosting or muted vapour from a worn pod goes away when you swap it. The V2 label tells you this is the revised version of the pod. The listing does not itemise every change, so rather than guess, this page focuses on what we can say with confidence and on the checks worth doing when the pod arrives.

  • Brand: Geek Vape, a long-established hardware maker with a wide range of pod kits, mods and coils.
  • Format: refillable replacement pod for the Wenax M1 system.
  • Price: £6.95 on this listing.
  • Variants: two options, selectable on the product page.
  • Ships without e-liquid: you add your own, in a nicotine strength you choose.

The rest of this guide walks through how the pod performs, how to fill and prime it, how to pick a nicotine strength, what to do when something goes wrong and how it stacks up against other pod systems on the UK market.

What the listing confirms, and what to check on the pod

It helps to separate what is confirmed from what you should verify when the pod arrives. The listing confirms the product name, the brand, the refillable pod format, the price and the fact that there are two variants. For anything finer than that, such as exact resistance, capacity and pack quantity, the printing on the pod and the packaging is the final word, and it is worth reading before you fill it.

Here is the short checklist we suggest for the first time you open the pack:

  • Variant. The two variants on pods for this system are most commonly split by coil resistance, with a lower-ohm option for a looser, warmer draw and a higher-ohm option for a tighter, cooler one. Confirm which one you selected by reading the ohm value on the pod or the packaging.
  • Pod volume. Marked in millilitres on the pod. In the UK a refillable pod or tank cannot hold more than 2ml, so you will see a figure at or below that limit.
  • Pack quantity. Check the listing and the packaging to see how many pods you are getting for £6.95. If it is a multi-pack, divide the price by the number of pods to get your true cost per pod.
  • Compatibility. These are intended for the Wenax M1 system. If you own a different Wenax model, such as the M2 or another pod kit from the range, do not assume the pods swap over. Pod shapes and contact points differ between models, so check the compatibility note before ordering.
  • Seal and condition. The pod should arrive sealed in its packaging, with the fill port plug in place and no cracks in the tank wall.

None of this is difficult, and it takes a minute. It also avoids the two most common reasons a pod purchase goes wrong: buying a pod that does not fit the device and filling the wrong resistance with the wrong liquid. We would rather you check than rely on a spec sheet we cannot see, which is why we keep the claims on this page conservative.

Performance and vapour delivery in everyday use

Performance on a pod like this comes down to three things working together: the resistance of the coil, the output of the battery body, and the thickness of the e-liquid. The pod itself sets the first and strongly influences the third, because a mesh coil with large wicking surface area handles different liquid ratios differently from a small round-wire coil.

In practice, the two ends of the resistance range behave quite differently:

  • Lower-resistance pod (around 0.8Ω). Draws more power from the battery, produces more vapour and a warmer hit, and suits a looser, restricted-lung style of inhaling. Battery life per charge is shorter and e-liquid use is higher.
  • Higher-resistance pod (around 1.2Ω). Draws less power, gives a tighter draw closer to a cigarette, and stretches both battery and liquid further. Vapour is cooler and lighter, which many ex-smokers find easier to adjust to.

These figures are typical for pods in this class and are shown for guidance. Always go by the value printed on your own pod.

On puff counts, we avoid headline numbers because they depend heavily on how you vape. As a rough, honest estimate, a single 2ml fill is likely to deliver somewhere in the region of several hundred draws on a higher-resistance pod and noticeably fewer on a lower-resistance one. A coil usually stays in good condition for one to two weeks of regular use, though sweet, dark or syrupy e-liquids shorten that because sugars caramelise on the coil. Light, thin, fruit or menthol liquids tend to be kinder.

Vapour delivery is also affected by a properly primed coil. A new pod filled and used straight away is the main cause of that burnt, dry taste on the first few puffs. Give the coil time to soak (the filling section below covers this) and the delivery settles into a smooth, consistent pattern. If you take long, slow draws of two to three seconds rather than short sharp ones, the mesh has time to re-wet between puffs and the flavour stays steadier.

Flavour profile: what a mesh pod does to your e-liquid

A replacement pod has no flavour of its own. What it does is shape how your chosen e-liquid tastes, and mesh coils in particular have a recognisable character. Because the heating surface is wide and thin, it warms the liquid evenly, which tends to produce a rounder, fuller flavour than a small wire coil, with less of the sharp edge that comes from hot spots.

Here is how different liquid styles tend to behave in a pod of this kind:

  • Fruit and berry blends. Come across clearly and cleanly. The even heat preserves the lighter top notes that can get lost on a hotter coil.
  • Menthol and ice. Stay crisp at the lower power levels typical of pod systems. The cooling sensation is noticeable without turning harsh.
  • Tobacco and custard styles. Work well on the higher-resistance variant, where the lower heat keeps rich flavours from tasting scorched.
  • Desserts and heavy sweet liquids. Taste full but will gunk up the coil sooner. If you favour these, plan to replace the pod a little more often.

On liquid ratio, pods built for restricted draws usually work best with a balanced 50/50 or a higher-VG blend of around 60 to 70 percent VG with thin enough juice to wick properly. Very thick 80VG and above liquids can struggle to feed the coil fast enough in small pods, leading to dry hits. If the draw feels as though it is starving the coil, a thinner blend is the first thing to try.

If you are changing flavours, switching pods is the cleanest way to do it. A pod that has been used with a strong menthol will keep a trace of that flavour in the cotton long after it is empty. When you want to move from, say, a mint to a vanilla custard, using a new pod is better than flushing the old one. That is one practical benefit of a modest, repeatable pod price: you can afford to treat flavour changes properly rather than tolerate muddled tastes.

Design and build quality of the pod

The pod is a small piece of engineering, and it is worth looking at the points where cheap ones tend to fail. On a good pod the plastic housing is clear enough to see the liquid level, the walls feel rigid when you squeeze gently, and the mouthpiece fits snugly without wobbling. Geek Vape has a reasonable track record on fit and finish across its pod range, and this pod follows the same approach of a compact moulded body with a flush connection to the device.

Points to look at when you open the pack:

  • Fill port. Usually sealed with a soft silicone bung. It should sit flush and feel firm. A loose or misaligned bung is a common source of leaks, and it is easier to spot before you fill than after.
  • Contact points. The pod connects to the battery body through small metal contacts. They should look clean and unbent. Any visible dirt or residue can cause a misfire alert later on.
  • Airflow path. Look through the mouthpiece. The air channel should be clear, with no flashing or stray plastic from moulding.
  • Magnetic or push-fit seating. Depending on the design, the pod either clicks in magnetically or presses into place. Either way, it should seat with a positive click and sit level with the body.

Because the pod is a consumable, it is built to a price, and you should expect it to behave like one. The plastic is not designed to survive being dropped repeatedly on hard floors, and the tank is not designed for harsh solvents. Wipe the outside with a dry cloth, and avoid cleaning with alcohol wipes, which can craze some clear plastics over time.

Carry the device with the pod in the upright position where possible. If you keep the system in a pocket or bag, a pod that is nearly empty is more prone to dry hits when it is knocked around, while one that is filled right to the top can seep when the pressure changes. Filling to just below the maximum line and carrying the kit in a case or compartment on its own cuts down on both problems.

Battery and charging: how the pod and the M1 body work together

The replacement pod does not contain a battery; the power comes from the M1 body it clips into. The M1 system is generally specified with a battery in the region of 800mAh and USB-C charging, though you should check the exact figure for your own kit. A battery of that size is built for a day of moderate use rather than a long weekend away from a socket.

The pod you choose changes how long a charge lasts, and it is worth understanding why:

  • Lower-resistance pod. Needs more power for each draw, so the battery drains faster. Expect to charge more often, possibly once a day with regular use.
  • Higher-resistance pod. Uses less power per draw, so the same battery lasts noticeably longer between charges.
  • Fresh pod versus old pod. A tired, gunked coil often needs more energy to produce the same vapour. If the battery seems to be draining faster than it used to, a new pod can bring it back to normal.

A few charging habits help the whole system last longer. Use a standard USB wall adapter or a computer port rather than a very high-output fast charger, since small batteries like this are designed for modest charge rates. Charge when the indicator shows low rather than waiting for the device to cut out completely, and unplug once it is full instead of leaving it on charge overnight every night. Keep the kit away from heat sources and out of a hot car in summer.

One more practical point: never charge the device with a pod that is leaking. If the contacts or the charging port are wet with e-liquid, wipe them dry with a lint-free cloth and leave the device to air out before you plug in a cable. Moisture around the port is the commonest cause of a device that will not charge, and it is almost always avoidable.

When the battery body eventually reaches the end of its life, do not put it in household rubbish. Small lithium cells need to go to a proper electrical recycling point, which is covered in the value section below.

Coil and mesh technology in plain English

The coil is the reason you buy a replacement pod. Inside the pod, a heating element is wrapped in or pressed against organic cotton. When you draw, the battery sends current through the element, it heats up, and the liquid held in the cotton turns to vapour. The design of that element decides almost everything about the vape.

Older pods used a spiral of round wire. Modern ones, including those in this class, increasingly use mesh: a thin sheet of metal with many tiny holes, folded or pressed against the cotton. The differences matter in daily use:

  • Larger surface area. The mesh touches far more of the cotton than a wire does, so heat spreads evenly and the liquid is vaporised more consistently.
  • Faster ramp-up. Mesh coils heat quickly, so the first puff after a pause is fuller and you do not have to draw hard to get a response.
  • Better flavour retention. Even heating means fewer hot spots that scorch the liquid, which supports a rounder taste.
  • Longer life in theory. A larger heating area works less intensely per square millimetre, which can help the coil last longer if you keep it supplied with liquid.

The trade-off is that mesh is sensitive to being run dry. If the cotton is not soaked, the thin metal can overheat in spots, scorch the cotton and ruin the coil in a few draws. This is why priming is not optional. It is also why a pod that has been left empty or nearly empty should be refilled promptly rather than vaped to the last drop.

On resistance, the ohm value is a measure of how much the coil resists the flow of current. A lower number lets more current through and creates more heat and vapour, while a higher number does the opposite. Pod systems of this type use a fixed power output from the device, so the resistance of the pod directly determines the experience. If you are not sure which to choose, a higher-resistance pod is the gentler starting point for someone moving off cigarettes or a first-time pod user, and a lower-resistance pod suits someone who already enjoys a bigger cloud and a warmer hit.

Choosing nicotine strength for a refillable pod

Because this pod ships empty, the nicotine strength is entirely your decision. In the UK, nicotine e-liquid is capped at 20mg/ml, which is the same ceiling that applied to disposable vapes before they were banned. You will not find anything stronger in a regulated UK shop, and you should not need it. What you do need is the right strength for your pod resistance and your habits.

As a starting point, match the strength to the type of pod:

  • Higher-resistance pod (tight draw, lower vapour): a nicotine salt at 10mg/ml to 20mg/ml is the usual choice. Salts are smooth at higher strengths, and the low vapour output means you take in less nicotine per puff, so a stronger liquid keeps you satisfied.
  • Lower-resistance pod (looser draw, more vapour): a nicotine salt at 5mg/ml to 10mg/ml often works better. More vapour per puff means more nicotine per puff, so a lower strength avoids the dizzy, harsh feeling of overdoing it.
  • Freebase nicotine: if you use traditional freebase liquid, stay at 3mg/ml to 6mg/ml in a lower-resistance pod, since freebase gets noticeably harsh above that in a restricted device.

If you smoke around 10 or more cigarettes a day, a 10mg/ml to 20mg/ml salt is generally the sensible place to begin. Lighter smokers, or people who vape socially, often do better at 5mg/ml to 10mg/ml. The aim is to feel satisfied without chaining the device. If you find yourself vaping constantly, the strength is probably too low. If you feel light-headed, nauseous or get a sore throat from the hit, it is too high.

It is worth remembering that nicotine is addictive and that vaping is intended for adults who already smoke or vape. It is not for under-18s, non-smokers or anyone who is pregnant. If you want to reduce nicotine over time, step down by a small increment every few weeks rather than dropping suddenly, and the pod resistance can be part of that plan: moving from a tight draw with a strong salt to a looser draw with a milder one is a common route.

Who these pods suit, and who should look elsewhere

These are a straightforward replacement part, so the question of who should buy them is mostly about whether you already own, or plan to own, a Wenax M1 system.

They suit:

  • Owners of the Wenax M1 whose current pod is worn, leaking or has lost its flavour.
  • Former disposable users who have moved to a refillable pod system and want an easy, low-maintenance routine.
  • People who like to choose their own e-liquid flavours and nicotine strength instead of being tied to a fixed disposable.
  • Anyone who wants a spare pod in the bag so they can swap flavours cleanly rather than flushing one pod repeatedly.
  • Smokers who want a tight, cigarette-like draw (higher-resistance variant) or a warmer, fuller one (lower-resistance variant) and are happy with a compact device.

You should look elsewhere if:

  • You own a different device. If your kit is not the Wenax M1, check the exact model before buying. A pod that does not fit is not a defect, just a mismatch.
  • You want large clouds and high wattage. A small pod system with a fixed output is not built for sub-ohm or high-power vaping. A box mod and tank is a better fit for that style.
  • You want zero maintenance. Refillable pods need filling, priming and periodic replacement. If you want to unwrap, use and bin, that is no longer a legal option in the UK, and a pre-filled pod system might suit better.
  • You use very thick liquids. Heavy, high-VG shortfills can underfeed a small mesh pod.
  • You are under 18, or a non-smoker. Vaping products are for adult smokers and vapers only.

If you are unsure which category you fall into, the simplest test is whether your current pod is the one this listing replaces. If it is, you are the intended buyer.

Fitting, filling, priming and using the pod

Getting the setup right at the start is the biggest single factor in how long a pod lasts and how good it tastes. The process takes a few minutes, and most of that is waiting.

A reliable routine looks like this:

  • Step 1, check the pod. Remove it from the packaging, confirm the resistance value and make sure the fill port bung is intact.
  • Step 2, open the fill port. Lift or peel back the silicone bung according to the design on your pod. Keep it clean and do not lose it.
  • Step 3, fill slowly. Tilt the bottle nozzle against the side of the fill hole, not straight down, and add liquid in small bursts. Stop just below the maximum line. Overfilling forces liquid into the airflow channel and causes leaks.
  • Step 4, close the port firmly. Press the bung fully home and check it sits flush.
  • Step 5, let it soak. Wait at least five minutes, and ten is better. The cotton needs to be saturated before the coil fires. This one step prevents most burnt first puffs.
  • Step 6, fit the pod. Seat it into the battery body until it clicks or sits flush.
  • Step 7, take a few gentle draws. Do not hold the button or draw hard. Take two or three slow, gentle puffs without inhaling fully to pull liquid through the wick, then settle into normal use.

Day to day, top the pod up when the liquid drops to about a third. Do not let it run empty, because mesh coils scorch quickly when dry. When you change flavours, change pods. When the pod starts tasting muted, burnt or sour even though it is filled and primed, the coil has reached the end of its life.

Keep the device upright when you store it, and keep the contacts clean. If you will not use the kit for several days, it is better to leave the pod empty than to leave liquid sitting in a pod that could seep. A small cotton bud, slightly damp and then dried, will clear residue from the contacts without harming them.

Troubleshooting: common faults and how to fix them

Most pod problems have simple causes. Working through them in order will resolve the majority without needing to return anything.

  • Burnt or dry taste. Almost always an unprimed or dry coil. Remove the pod, make sure there is liquid above the wicking holes, let it rest for ten minutes and try again with gentle draws. If the taste persists after a proper soak, the coil is probably spent or the liquid is too thick.
  • Leaking from the pod or the device. Usually overfilling, an unseated bung or a pod that has been left in a hot place. Wipe the pod and the contacts dry, refill to a little below the line and make sure the bung is fully pressed in. A pod that continues to leak after that should be replaced.
  • Gurgling or spitting. Condensation in the airflow channel. Remove the pod and blow gently through the mouthpiece to clear it, then wipe the mouthpiece.
  • No vapour or the device flashes. The most common reason is poor contact. Remove the pod, wipe the metal contacts on both the pod and the body with a dry cotton bud, and reseat it. If it still will not fire, check that the battery is charged.
  • Weak vapour and weak flavour. The liquid may be too thick, the pod may need a fresh fill or the coil may be worn. Try a thinner liquid and a fresh pod.
  • Hard, harsh throat hit. Nicotine strength is too high for the pod resistance. Drop down a strength, especially on the lower-ohm variant.
  • Pod will not click in. Check the orientation and make sure no liquid is blocking the connection. Never force it.

When a pod reaches the end of its life, it should not go in the household bin. Pods contain plastic, a metal coil and cotton soaked in residue, and the device itself contains a lithium battery. Take both to a vape recycling drop-off point, which many UK vape shops and household waste recycling centres operate. A growing number of retailers also take back vapes under the producer responsibility rules. Empty the pod first if it still has liquid in it, and keep it away from children and pets.

Value for money, and how it compares with the alternatives

At £6.95, the question is cost per day rather than cost per pod, and that depends on the pack quantity on the listing and on how fast you go through coils. Two worked examples, both illustrative:

  • If the pack holds two pods and each one lasts around ten days, that is roughly 35p per day in hardware.
  • If it holds three and each lasts ten days, it falls to a little over 23p per day.

Add the e-liquid, which is usually the larger share of running costs, and a refillable system still tends to cost less per day than the single-use disposables it replaces. It also produces less waste, since you are replacing a small pod instead of discarding a whole battery every few days.

As for how it compares with other options on the UK market:

  • Other pod ecosystems. Pods for systems such as the Vaporesso XROS range and the OXVA Xlim line are widely stocked, come in a broad choice of resistances and are comparable in size and price. Their advantage is availability and range. The advantage of staying with Wenax is simply that your existing device keeps working without a new purchase.
  • Pre-filled pods and closed systems. Simpler, but you are tied to the flavours the manufacturer makes, and the cost per millilitre of e-liquid is normally higher.
  • Larger kits and tanks. More power, more airflow control and longer battery life, but bigger and fiddlier. Not a like-for-like choice if you value pocketability.

Where Geek Vape pods stand out is fit and consistency: a pod that seats properly and is built by the same manufacturer as the body usually leaks less than a third-party equivalent. Where they are weaker is flexibility, since you cannot use them on a different brand's device.

To keep the cost down, prime every pod properly, avoid the thickest and sweetest liquids if you want longer coil life, do not vape a pod until it is bone dry and buy a spare so you are never stuck with a burnt coil. For delivery, we dispatch within the UK, and the delivery page lists the options and costs. Hardware like this is also covered by our standard returns policy for faulty or incorrectly supplied items, so if a pod arrives damaged, contact us with your order number.

Frequently asked questions

What nicotine strength should I use in the Wenax M1 V2 pods?

Match it to the pod resistance. A higher-ohm pod with a tight draw usually suits a 10mg/ml to 20mg/ml nicotine salt, while a lower-ohm pod with more vapour suits 5mg/ml to 10mg/ml. UK law caps nicotine e-liquid at 20mg/ml, so you will not find anything stronger from a regulated retailer.

Do the pods come filled with e-liquid?

No. These are refillable replacement pods and they ship empty, so you add your own e-liquid. Fill to just below the maximum line, close the fill port firmly and let the pod soak for at least five minutes before you start vaping.

How do I charge the device when using these pods?

The pod has no battery, so you charge the Wenax M1 body, normally through its USB-C port. Use a standard USB adapter rather than a very high-output fast charger, and make sure the port and contacts are dry before you plug in a cable.

What is the difference between the two variants?

The two options on this listing are most commonly split by coil resistance, with a lower-ohm pod giving more vapour and a warmer hit and a higher-ohm pod giving a tighter, cooler draw. Check the ohm value printed on the pod or packaging to confirm which you have, and choose your nicotine strength to match.

How long does a replacement pod last?

A coil typically stays in good condition for roughly one to two weeks of regular use, though this varies a lot with your liquid and habits. Thick, sweet and dessert-style liquids shorten coil life, while thinner fruit and menthol liquids tend to be kinder. Replace the pod when the taste turns muted, burnt or sour even after a proper fill and soak.

Can I switch flavours using the same pod?

You can, but the cotton holds residue and you will usually taste traces of the previous liquid. For a clean change, especially from menthol to a sweet or creamy flavour, it is better to fit a fresh pod than to try flushing the old one.

Will these pods fit other Wenax devices?

Do not assume so. These pods are intended for the Wenax M1 system, and other models in the range, including the M2, use their own pods with different shapes and contacts. Check the compatibility note on the listing before you order.

Is this good value compared with disposables?

A refillable pod system generally costs less per day than single-use vapes, and it produces less waste because you replace a small pod instead of the whole device. Single-use disposables are also no longer legal to sell in the UK, so refillable systems like this are the practical alternative.

Who should not buy these pods?

They are not for under-18s, non-smokers or anyone who is pregnant, and they are no use to you if you do not own a compatible Wenax M1. If you want very large clouds or you cannot be bothered with filling and priming, a different type of device may suit you better.

Do you deliver to the UK, and what if a pod arrives faulty?

Yes, we dispatch to UK addresses, and the delivery page lists the options and costs. If a pod arrives damaged, leaking or not as described, contact us with your order number and photos, and we will deal with it under our standard returns policy. Pods are consumables, so the warranty on the device itself is separate.
