Overview: Yeti Original Honeydew Blackcurrant 100ml

Yeti Original 100ml Honeydew Blackcurrant is a shortfill e-liquid that pairs soft honeydew melon with the darker, slightly tart flavour of blackcurrant. It is supplied as 100ml of nicotine-free liquid in a 120ml bottle, which leaves 20ml of empty space so you can add nicotine shots and set your own strength. If you vape without nicotine, you can use it straight from the bottle.

Yeti is a UK e-liquid brand, and the Original range is its core line of fruit-led shortfills made for open-system devices: sub-ohm tanks, mesh-coil tanks and refillable pod kits with a loose enough draw. This flavour belongs to the fruit group rather than the dessert, tobacco or menthol groups, so it suits anyone who wants a lighter, juicier vape that does not feel heavy after a few hours.

The shortfill format exists because of UK rules on bottle size. Nicotine-containing e-liquid is capped at 10ml per bottle and 20mg/ml in strength, but nicotine-free liquid can be sold in larger bottles. Shortfills use that gap: you buy the 100ml of flavoured liquid, then top it up with one or two 10ml nicotine shots if you want nicotine in the mix.

Here are the headline details at a glance:

  • Type: shortfill e-liquid, sold nicotine-free at 0mg
  • Volume: 100ml of liquid in a 120ml bottle, with room for two 10ml nicotine shots
  • Flavour: honeydew melon and blackcurrant
  • Suited to: sub-ohm tanks, mesh-coil tanks and refillable pod kits with airy draws
  • VG/PG: a high-VG blend, so check the label on your bottle for the exact ratio

The rest of this guide covers flavour, performance, packaging, device matching, coils, nicotine mixing, troubleshooting, value and comparisons, all written for adult UK vapers. It is deliberately practical, and where a figure is an estimate rather than a manufacturer specification, we say so.

Flavour profile: honeydew melon meets blackcurrant

On the inhale, the honeydew comes first. It is the soft, pale-green melon flavour rather than the sharper, more perfumed note you get from watermelon or cantaloupe, so it reads as sweet, juicy and slightly floral without being sticky. Within a second or two the blackcurrant arrives behind it: a darker, jammy, mildly tart berry note that stops the melon from turning flat or sugary.

On the exhale, the melon sweetness lingers on the tongue while the blackcurrant leaves a gentle tang at the back of the mouth. Overall sweetness sits somewhere around medium to medium-high. The tartness from the blackcurrant is what keeps the profile balanced, which matters if you plan to vape one flavour for several tank fills in a row.

Several things change the flavour you actually taste:

  • Power: at the lower end of your coil's wattage range the melon tends to lead, while at higher wattage the blackcurrant gets darker and sharper.
  • Nicotine: adding nicotine shots adds throat hit and can make the berry note feel tarter, particularly at 3mg and above.
  • Airflow: a wide-open airflow cools the vapour and softens flavour, while a tighter draw concentrates it.
  • Vaper's tongue: after several hours on one fruit flavour, many people find it fades. Rinsing with water or switching flavour for a day usually resets it.

As we read the profile, the fruit leads rather than a heavy cooling agent, so this is not a menthol-style vape. If you like a chilled finish, you can add a few drops of a menthol or ice additive to the bottle, though that is a personal tweak and not part of the original recipe. Flavour perception varies between people and devices, so treat these notes as a guide rather than a promise.

One honest caution: sweetened fruit liquids can leave residue on a coil over time. That does not mean the flavour is poor, only that coil life with sweet fruit liquids is usually shorter than with unsweetened tobacco or menthol liquids. The coil section below covers how to manage it, and it is worth reading before you commit to a full 100ml of any sweet profile.

Performance and vapour delivery

Because this is a high-VG liquid, it is built for open, airy draws. Higher vegetable glycerine content produces dense vapour and a smooth, rounded throat feel, while the propylene glycol portion carries flavour and provides some throat hit when nicotine is added. The result is thick vapour at modest wattage and a softer inhale than a 50/50 liquid would give in the same device.

E-liquid does not have a puff count in the way a pre-filled device does, because the number of draws depends entirely on how you vape. As a rough guide only, direct-lung sub-ohm vaping uses around 0.04ml to 0.07ml of liquid per draw, which puts 100ml at roughly 1,500 to 2,500 draws. Mouth-to-lung vaping at 10W to 20W uses far less liquid per draw, perhaps 0.01ml to 0.02ml, so the same bottle could stretch to somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000 draws. These are estimates, not lab figures, and your own habits will move them either way.

A more practical way to think about it is daily consumption:

  • Sub-ohm, direct-lung: many vapers use 3ml to 5ml a day, so a 100ml bottle lasts roughly three to five weeks.
  • Mesh-coil tank, restricted direct-lung: typically 2ml to 4ml a day, giving a month or more per bottle.
  • Refillable pod kit: 1ml to 2ml a day is common, so a bottle can last well over a month.

If you add nicotine shots, the total volume rises to 110ml or 120ml, which adds a little to each of those figures.

Vapour production scales with power and airflow. At 40W to 50W through a mesh coil you should get warm, dense vapour with good flavour definition. Pushing past the top of the coil's rated range will not improve the flavour and tends to burn the cotton, so it is better to find the lowest wattage that tastes full and stay there. Because high-VG liquid is thick, the coil needs time to saturate, and that matters more than any wattage tweak when it comes to avoiding dry hits.

Bottle design and build quality

Shortfills like this one are normally supplied in a squeezable plastic bottle with a narrow nozzle, sized at 120ml so that the liquid does not fill the container to the brim. The extra headroom is there on purpose: it lets you pour in one or two 10ml nicotine shots and still have space to shake the bottle properly. A bottle filled to the top would make mixing messy and leave you with uneven strength from the first fill to the last.

When your bottle arrives, run through a quick check:

  • Tamper-evident seal: the ring around the cap should be intact when you first open it.
  • Child-resistant closure: the cap should need a firm press-and-turn action. Keep it that way and always close it fully after use.
  • Label information: it should show the flavour, 0mg strength, VG/PG ratio, ingredients, batch details and the usual warnings. If anything is missing or unreadable, contact us before using it.
  • Nozzle: it should be clean, intact and firmly seated in the neck, with no signs of leakage in the packaging.

The label artwork follows the Yeti Original house style, with the flavour name clearly marked so that you can tell bottles apart if you keep several on the shelf. That is a small point, but it matters when you have more than one nicotine strength on the go and need to avoid mixing them up. If you add shots, we suggest writing the strength and the date on the bottle with a marker or on a sticky label.

The bottle is a soft plastic container, so it will not survive being left in a hot car or on a sunny windowsill. Heat and sunlight degrade e-liquid and can discolour it. Store the bottle upright in a cool, dark place, away from children and pets. Even at 0mg, the liquid is not a drink, and once nicotine shots are added it becomes a nicotine product that must be stored securely.

Device battery and charging: what to pair with this liquid

An e-liquid has no battery of its own, so charging comes down to the device you pair it with. High-VG liquid is typically used in rechargeable pod kits, box mods and sub-ohm kits, and the battery you need depends mostly on the wattage you vape at.

As a working guide:

  • Pod kits (roughly 800mAh to 1,500mAh): suited to 10W to 30W vaping. A day of moderate use is realistic, and many charge through USB-C.
  • Compact sub-ohm kits (around 1,500mAh to 3,000mAh internal): usually run 30W to 60W. Expect a day of light to moderate use, or less at the top of the range.
  • Box mods with removable 18650 or 21700 cells (around 3,000mAh to 5,000mAh per cell): these cover 50W to 100W and beyond, and give the longest runtime. Always use cells from a reputable supplier, matched pairs in dual-cell mods, and a proper external charger.

Charging habits make a real difference to battery life and safety. Use the cable that came with the device, and a standard wall adapter rather than a very high-output fast charger unless the manufacturer says it is fine. Do not leave a device charging unattended overnight, and do not charge it on a bed or sofa. If a device gets hot while charging, swells, or smells odd, stop using it and take it to a recycling point.

That brings us to disposal. Lithium batteries must never go in household bins or normal recycling. Retailers that sell vapes in the UK are expected to take back old vapes and batteries, and most household waste recycling centres have a drop-off point for small electrical items and batteries. The empty liquid bottle should be rinsed, if local rules allow, and recycled as plastic, but check your council's guidance, since it varies.

It is also worth noting that single-use vapes were banned from sale in Great Britain from 1 June 2025. Before that, UK disposables were limited to 20mg/ml nicotine and a 2ml tank. A refillable setup using a shortfill like this one avoids throwing a battery away with every few millilitres of liquid, which is better for your wallet and for waste.

Coil and mesh technology: matching the liquid to your tank

Choosing the right coil is the single biggest factor in how this liquid tastes and how long your coils last. High-VG liquid is thick, so it wicks into the cotton more slowly than thin 50/50 liquid. A coil with plenty of wicking surface and a decent number of liquid inlets will keep up; a very small coil with tiny holes may starve at higher power.

Here is how the main coil types behave with a high-VG fruit liquid:

  • Mesh coils (0.15 ohm to 0.4 ohm): a flat sheet of mesh gives a large heating area, quick ramp-up and even flavour. They are generally the sensible default for a liquid like this, run at the wattage printed on the coil, often 40W to 80W.
  • Round-wire sub-ohm coils (0.2 ohm to 0.6 ohm): still common and cheaper, and entirely workable. Flavour can be a little less even, and they may need a few more minutes of priming.
  • Restricted direct-lung coils (0.4 ohm to 0.6 ohm): a tighter draw at 25W to 40W, popular with people who want a cigarette-like pull but still want high-VG vapour.
  • Pod-kit coils (0.6 ohm to 1.0 ohm): low-power coils that work with high-VG liquid if the pod is designed for it. Check the manufacturer's note on maximum VG, since some small pods are rated for 50/50 only.

Priming matters more with thick liquid than thin. Before you fire a new coil, soak the cotton through the inlet holes, fill the tank, and wait five to ten minutes. Take a few draws without pressing the fire button, to pull liquid through. Then start at the low end of the coil's rated wattage and move up slowly.

Coil life depends on how you vape, but a typical range for sweet fruit liquids is one to two weeks of regular use. The usual signs that a coil is ready to replace are a muted or slightly burnt taste, reduced vapour, and gurgling. Rinsing the tank with warm water when you change coils helps, and so does keeping the liquid level above the inlet holes. If you cannot taste the blackcurrant any more but the melon is still there, the coil is likely coated and due for a swap.

Nicotine strength guidance and mixing

In the UK, nicotine-containing e-liquids are limited to 20mg/ml, and nicotine shots are sold in 10ml bottles. The 20mg/ml limit also applied to disposable vapes before they were banned in Great Britain. Because this product is a nicotine-free shortfill, you control the final strength with the shots you add. If you do not use nicotine, there is nothing to add.

Here is what the standard combinations give you, using 10ml shots in the 120ml bottle:

  • No shot: 100ml at 0mg.
  • One 18mg shot: 110ml at about 1.6mg/ml.
  • Two 18mg shots: 120ml at 3mg/ml.
  • Two 20mg shots: 120ml at about 3.3mg/ml.

For most sub-ohm and mesh-coil vapers, those are the useful range. Higher-powered, airy vaping delivers a lot of nicotine per draw, so lower strengths go further than they would in a small pod. As a general starting guide for adult smokers moving to vaping:

  • Light smokers (under 10 a day): 0mg to 3mg in a sub-ohm tank is usually enough.
  • Moderate to heavy smokers (10 or more a day): 3mg is a common starting point for sub-ohm vaping. Some people prefer to vape a mouth-to-lung pod with a nicotine salt liquid instead, because a shortfill bottle cannot reach the same strengths.
  • Ex-vapers or those cutting down: 0mg to 1.6mg, stepping down gradually.

If you need a stronger hit than 3.3mg/ml, a shortfill is probably not the right format. A 10ml nicotine salt liquid in a pod device, at up to the legal 20mg/ml, is built for that. If you are used to 20mg disposable vapes, expect a shortfill at 3mg to feel different, because the delivery method and the nicotine type are both different.

When mixing, wash your hands, add the shot to the bottle through the nozzle opening, close the cap fully and shake for about thirty seconds. Leave the bottle for a few hours, or overnight, then shake again. Nicotine is addictive, and this product is for adults who already smoke or vape. It is not intended for non-smokers or anyone under 18.

Who this e-liquid is for

This is a liquid for adult UK vapers who want a straightforward, fruit-led profile in a large, cost-effective bottle. It is most at home in a sub-ohm or mesh-coil device where the high-VG blend can show what it does well: thick vapour, a smooth draw and a flavour that holds up across a day of use.

It is a sensible choice if you are:

  • A smoker switching to vaping who finds tobacco and menthol liquids dull and prefers something lighter and fruitier to vape through the day.
  • An existing sub-ohm vaper who gets through a lot of liquid and wants to cut the cost per millilitre compared with buying 10ml bottles.
  • A nicotine-free vaper who enjoys the habit and flavour and wants a 0mg liquid that needs no mixing.
  • A fan of melon or berry flavours who wants a balanced blend rather than a sweet, syrupy one.
  • Someone moving on from pre-filled pods to a refillable kit and looking for a first bottle of liquid.

It is not the right buy for everyone. You should think twice if:

  • You are under 18, or you have never smoked or vaped. Vapes are for adult smokers looking for an alternative, not for non-smokers.
  • You need a high-strength nicotine hit from a small, discreet pod device. A 10ml nicotine salt liquid is a better fit for that style.
  • You dislike sweet or tart flavours. This blend is a fruit profile, and there is little here for tobacco or menthol fans.
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding, or you have a heart condition or other health concern. Speak to your GP or a pharmacist before using any nicotine product.
  • Your device only supports thin liquid. Some small pod kits are rated for 50/50 and struggle with high-VG liquid.

If you are unsure whether your device is suitable, check its manual for the recommended VG range and coil resistance, or contact us with the make and model and we will point you in the right direction.

How to use: filling, mixing and vaping

Using a shortfill is simple once you have done it a couple of times. The steps below cover the full process, including the optional nicotine shots.

  • Step 1, prepare: wash your hands and clear a flat surface. Keep the bottle upright and away from children.
  • Step 2, add shots (optional): open the child-resistant cap, remove the nozzle if it comes out, and pour in one or two 10ml nicotine shots. Replace the nozzle and cap fully.
  • Step 3, shake: shake the bottle for about thirty seconds. Leave it for a couple of hours, or overnight if you can, then shake once more.
  • Step 4, fill the tank: follow your device's instructions to open the fill port. Tilt the tank and fill below the maximum line, taking care not to flood the central tube or cover the airflow.
  • Step 5, prime: wait five to ten minutes so the cotton can soak, then take a few unpowered draws before you press the fire button.
  • Step 6, vape: start at the low end of the coil's wattage range and adjust up gradually until the flavour feels full but not hot.

For mouth-to-lung and restricted direct-lung vaping, take slower, longer draws with a short pause between them. For direct-lung vaping, a steady three to four second pull is usually plenty. Letting the coil rest for a few seconds between draws helps the cotton re-saturate and lowers the chance of a dry hit with a thick, high-VG liquid.

Storage matters. Keep the bottle upright in a cool, dark place, such as a cupboard rather than a windowsill. Check the best-before date printed on the label, which is typically around two years from manufacture for an unopened bottle. After you add nicotine, we suggest using the liquid within a few months, because nicotine darkens over time and can change the flavour slightly. A darker colour is usually cosmetic, but if the smell or taste seems off, do not use it.

Finally, wipe the nozzle after each fill, rinse the tank when you change coils, and never mix different nicotine strengths in the same bottle unless you have worked out the final strength. Label your bottle if you add shots.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most problems with shortfills come down to coil condition, priming or power settings rather than the liquid itself. Here is how to deal with the common ones.

  • Burnt or harsh taste: the coil is probably dry or worn out. Re-prime it, make sure the liquid is above the inlet holes, and lower the wattage. If the taste does not improve, fit a fresh coil.
  • Weak flavour: check the coil first, as sweet fruit liquids coat coils over time. Try a slightly higher wattage within the coil's range, tighten the airflow a little, and make sure you have given the bottle time to steep after adding nicotine.
  • Gurgling or spitting: this usually means too much liquid is pooling in the coil chamber or the airflow is too wide. Reduce how full you fill the tank, and wipe away any condensation in the drip tip.
  • Leaking from the tank: check that the coil is screwed in tightly, the seals are seated and the tank was not overfilled. Over-tightening the base can also damage a seal.
  • Dry hits: wait longer after filling, take a few unpowered draws, and avoid chain vaping. A thick high-VG liquid needs a few seconds to wick back into the cotton.
  • Throat hit too harsh: lower the nicotine strength by using a single shot rather than two, or reduce the wattage. A wider airflow also softens the hit.
  • Throat hit too weak: consider a slightly higher strength or a tighter airflow. If you are already at 3mg and still want more, a shortfill may not be the right format and a nicotine salt pod may suit you better.
  • Liquid looks darker or separated after mixing: darkening is usually cosmetic, and separation is solved by shaking again. If it smells wrong, discard it safely.
  • Coil dying within days: this often points to too much power or an empty tank. Sweet fruit liquids shorten coil life, but a few days is shorter than should be expected.

If you have tried these steps and still have a problem, contact us with your device model, coil type and a description of what is happening, and we will help you work it out. For anything involving heat, swelling or damage to a battery, stop using the device immediately and take it to a recycling point.

Value for money

The main argument for a shortfill is cost per millilitre. A 100ml bottle normally works out noticeably cheaper per ml than buying ten 10ml bottles, and the saving grows the more you vape. You can check the current price on the product page, then divide it by 100 for a clean cost per ml, or by 110 or 120 if you add nicotine shots and want to include their cost.

It helps to compare like with like:

  • Against 10ml bottles: shortfills are usually cheaper per ml, but you have to add the cost of shots if you want nicotine. For heavy users, the total is still often lower.
  • Against pre-filled pods: a refillable setup with a bottle like this costs less per ml in the long run, since you pay for the liquid and the occasional coil rather than for the plastic and packaging of each pod.
  • Against the old UK disposables: a typical disposable held no more than 2ml of liquid. A 100ml bottle holds the equivalent of about fifty of those fills, and that is without the waste of throwing a battery away each time.

There are costs beyond the bottle that you should factor in. Coils are the main running cost, and with a sweet fruit liquid you might change them every one to two weeks. Nicotine shots cost extra, although you will only need one or two per bottle. If you do not already own a suitable device, there is the upfront cost of a kit, though that cost is spread across many bottles.

On the other side of the ledger, 100ml is a lot of one flavour. If you are not sure you like honeydew and blackcurrant, buying a single large bottle is a commitment, and a smaller bottle from the same brand may be a cheaper way to test. Once you know you like it, the 100ml size is the sensible way to buy.

In short, the value is reasonable if you vape regularly in a suitable device, you like the flavour, and you are happy to mix your own nicotine. It is less compelling for occasional vapers who use a few millilitres a week, since an opened bottle ages and the saving may not offset the volume you cannot finish.

How it compares with alternatives

Honeydew and blackcurrant is a flavour pairing that appears across several UK brands, and none of them owns it. Here is a fair view of where Yeti Original sits against the alternatives you might be weighing up.

  • Other fruit shortfills from established UK brands (such as Dinner Lady, Doozy Vape Co or Ohm Boy): many of these are priced in a similar range per ml and are also high-VG. The real differences are flavour tuning, sweetness and how much cooling is built in. We would not claim that Yeti Original beats these on flavour; taste is personal, and the sensible approach is to try one and compare.
  • Ice and menthol-heavy shortfills: if you want a strong cooling blast, a dedicated ice range may suit you better. Yeti Original Honeydew Blackcurrant is a fruit-first profile.
  • Dessert and bakery shortfills: these are heavier and sweeter, and tend to coat coils faster. A fruit liquid like this one is usually lighter on the palate and a little kinder to coils, though no sweet liquid is coil-friendly.
  • 10ml nicotine salt liquids: these deliver more nicotine in a small, discreet pod device and suit people who need a stronger hit. They cost more per ml and are not interchangeable with a high-VG shortfill.
  • Pre-filled pods: convenient and tidy, but more expensive per ml and tied to one flavour per pod.

The main trade-offs with this product are the size and the format. A 100ml bottle is cost-effective but is a lot of one flavour, and the shortfill format means maximum strength is around 3.3mg/ml with standard shots. If those limits suit your vaping, there is little else that stands out as a drawback.

A sensible way to decide is to look at how you vape. If you use a sub-ohm or mesh-coil device, like fruit flavours and want to pay less per ml, this is a reasonable candidate. If you use a small, low-power pod, need a high nicotine strength or prefer cooling or dessert profiles, you may be better served by another product from our range. We are happy to suggest alternatives if you tell us what you currently use.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Best value per ml in the category
  • Choose your own device and coil
  • Available in a wide strength ladder

Cons

  • Refilling can leak if you overfill
  • Coil priming has a small learning curve
  • You handle the bottle — less discreet than pods

Customer Buying Tips

  • Match the strength to how much you smoked: 20+/day → 10-20 mg nic salt; 10/day → 10 mg; under 5/day → 3-6 mg freebase.
  • Match the ratio to your device: pod kits take 50/50, sub-ohm tanks take 70/30 shortfill.
  • Don't overfill: leaving the airhole clear prevents gurgling and leaking.
  • Shake before use so the nicotine and flavour integrate evenly.

Frequently asked questions

Which nicotine strength should I choose for this shortfill?

The bottle is sold at 0mg, and you add 10ml nicotine shots to reach your strength. One 18mg shot gives about 1.6mg/ml in 110ml, and two shots give about 3mg/ml in the full 120ml. Most sub-ohm vapers use 0mg to 3mg, and if you need more than that, a nicotine salt liquid in a pod device is usually a better fit.

How do I charge it?

The liquid itself does not need charging, because it is not a device. Charge your own vape kit using the cable supplied with it, avoid leaving it charging overnight or unattended, and never use a swollen or damaged battery. Old devices and batteries should go to a vape-recycling drop-off at a retailer or household waste recycling centre, not into household bins.

Can I swap flavours or buy other variants of Yeti Original?

Yes, Yeti Original is a range of fruit-led shortfills, and you can browse the other flavours on our Yeti brand page. Before you change flavour in the same tank, it is worth swapping the coil, or at least rinsing the tank, so the old flavour does not ghost into the new one. Many vapers keep two or three flavours on the go to avoid vaper's tongue.

How long will a 100ml bottle last?

It depends on your device and habits. Direct-lung sub-ohm vapers typically use 3ml to 5ml a day, which gives roughly three to five weeks, while low-power pod users may stretch a bottle across two months or longer. An unopened bottle usually carries a best-before date around two years out, and once you add nicotine we suggest using it within a few months.

Is it good value compared with other options?

A 100ml shortfill is normally cheaper per millilitre than 10ml bottles or pre-filled pods, particularly if you vape every day. You need to add the cost of nicotine shots if you want nicotine, plus coils as a running cost. It is less cost-effective for very occasional vapers, because an opened bottle ages before it is finished.

Who should and shouldn't buy this?

It suits adult smokers and vapers who like fruit flavours and use a sub-ohm, mesh-coil or compatible refillable pod device. It is not for under-18s, non-smokers, or anyone who wants a high-strength nicotine hit from a small pod. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a health condition, speak to your GP or pharmacist before using nicotine products.

Do you deliver across the UK, and is there an age check?

We deliver across the UK, and the available delivery options and cut-off times are shown at checkout. You must be 18 or over to buy, and we may carry out age verification on your order or at delivery. If a parcel is delayed or goes missing, contact us with your order number and we will look into it.

What is the warranty or returns position?

Because e-liquid is a consumable, it does not carry a device-style warranty, and opened bottles generally cannot be returned for hygiene and safety reasons. If your bottle arrives damaged, leaking or incorrect, contact us promptly with your order number and a photo and we will put it right. Your statutory rights under UK consumer law are not affected, and the full details are on our returns policy page.

Can I use it in a pod kit or only in a sub-ohm tank?

It works best in sub-ohm tanks, mesh-coil tanks and refillable pod kits designed for high-VG liquid. Some small pod kits are rated for 50/50 only, and the thick liquid can wick too slowly in a tight, low-power coil. Check your device's manual for its recommended VG range, or send us the model and we will advise.

How should I recycle the bottle and my old vape?

Empty the bottle, rinse it if your council allows it, and recycle it as plastic according to local guidance. Perfect for on the go

Delivery was super fast and the product is genuine. I've had fakes before so this was a relief.

Genuine and well-packed

Really nice flavour — not too sweet, not too harsh. Perfect in the middle. Second order already placed.
