Overview

The VooPoo Drag 6 Vape Kit Blue by Voopoo in Blue at 0mg. Free UK delivery over £20, same-day dispatch on weekday orders before 4pm.

What the VooPoo Drag 6 vape kit is

The VooPoo Drag 6 vape kit is a refillable, rechargeable kit built around the Drag platform that Voopoo has developed over several generations. Rather than a throwaway device, it is a handheld mod that pairs with a tank you fill yourself and coils you replace when the flavour starts to fade. That is a different proposition from the pre-filled single-use devices many UK shoppers relied on before the disposable vape ban came into force on 1 June 2025, and it is one reason refillable kits have taken a larger share of the UK market since.

This page is written to help you decide whether the Drag 6 is the right fit before you buy. We cover what the kit is likely to deliver in everyday use, which e-liquids pair well with it, how to set it up, what tends to go wrong, and how it compares with rival kits at a similar price. Where we describe general Drag-family behaviour rather than a measured figure for this exact model, we say so, and we recommend checking the specification table on the product page for the final numbers on output, tank size and battery configuration.

Eight variants of the kit are listed in this product family. For a kit these are finish and colour options rather than flavours, so the choice is cosmetic: the electronics, the tank and the coil system are shared across them. Flavour comes from the e-liquid you choose, which we cover in detail further down.

  • Format: refillable mod-and-tank kit, not a pre-filled device
  • Coil system: Voopoo PnP plug-and-play coils, with no building or wicking
  • Charging: USB-C
  • Suited to: adult smokers and existing vapers who want more control over flavour, nicotine strength and running costs
  • Not suited to: anyone under 18 or anyone who does not already smoke or vape

A quick but important reminder: vaping is not risk-free and nicotine is addictive. Products like this are intended as an alternative for adult smokers, not a lifestyle accessory for non-smokers.

Key specs and what is in the box

Voopoo publishes the electrical figures for each Drag model, and the Drag family follows a consistent pattern: a regulated mod driven by Voopoo's GENE chip, a tank that uses the PnP coil system, a compact display for settings, and a USB-C port for charging. We would rather not pad this page with figures we cannot stand behind for this exact variant, so treat the list below as a guide to the shape of the kit and confirm the headline numbers on the product listing.

  • Chipset: Voopoo GENE-series chip, which handles output regulation, protections and the on-screen menu
  • Coil system: PnP coils that press into the base of the tank, available in a range of resistances
  • Tank capacity: 2ml on UK-market kits, in line with the UK limit on refillable tank size
  • Output range: varies by Drag model, generally from lower settings that suit tighter draws up to high-power settings for airy, cloud-leaning use; check the listing for the exact ceiling
  • Power source: depends on configuration, either removable 18650 cells or an internal battery; the product page states which applies
  • Charging: USB-C cable, with the exact charging rate depending on the configuration
  • Typical box contents: mod, tank, at least one PnP coil, USB-C cable, spare seals where supplied, and a manual with a warranty card

A note on tank size: UK rules cap refillable tanks at 2ml and nicotine e-liquid bottles at 10ml. If you see a kit advertised overseas with a larger tank, it is either a different edition or ships with a 2ml insert for the UK. This is one of the practical reasons to buy from a UK retailer: you get the correct configuration without needing to swap parts.

Another point worth knowing before you order: if the kit uses removable cells, the batteries are usually sold separately because of shipping restrictions. Buy genuine branded cells from a reputable supplier, match the continuous discharge rating to the device's maximum output, and never use damaged or re-wrapped cells.

Performance and vapour delivery

The Drag line has always leaned toward power and responsiveness, and the Drag 6 is positioned in that tradition. In practice, what you notice day to day is how quickly the coil reaches temperature after you press the fire button, how consistent the vapour is from the first puff of a session to the last, and how well the kit copes with different e-liquid thicknesses. A GENE-series chip is designed to regulate output smoothly, so you should see a steady ramp-up rather than a lag followed by a spike.

Vapour output depends far more on the coil you choose than on the headline wattage on the box. A lower-resistance coil run at higher power produces a large, warm, airy draw that suits a thicker, high-VG e-liquid and a direct-to-lung inhale. A higher-resistance coil run at modest power gives a tighter, cooler draw that suits a 50/50 e-liquid and a mouth-to-lung inhale, closer to the feel of a cigarette. The Drag 6 can usually do both jobs because the PnP system gives you a menu of coils rather than a single fixed one.

Keep in mind that the 2ml UK tank limit shapes real-world use. At higher power settings a 2ml tank empties faster than most people expect, because a low-resistance coil consumes liquid quickly. If you vape heavily at high output, you will be refilling several times a day. That is not a flaw in the device, it is a consequence of the regulation, but it is worth planning for if you are used to larger tanks from older kits.

  • Lower power, higher-resistance coil: tighter draw, longer battery life, slower liquid use, better for nicotine salts
  • Mid power, mid-resistance coil: a balanced, warm draw that suits most 50/50 and 70/30 liquids
  • Higher power, low-resistance coil: a looser, bigger draw that suits 70VG liquids at lower nicotine strengths

Throat hit follows the same logic. More power with a nicotine salt can feel harsh and delivers a lot of nicotine very quickly, so match the strength to the way you vape, not the other way round.

Flavour: e-liquid pairings and the eight variants

Because the Drag 6 is a refillable kit, the flavour is whatever you put in the tank. The eight variants in this product family are colour and finish options, so they do not change how the kit tastes. What the kit does influence is how well flavour comes through, and that depends on coil choice, airflow setting and the liquid's VG/PG balance.

PnP coils are generally tuned to give clear flavour at moderate power. If flavour is your priority, run the coil in the lower half of its recommended range, open the airflow a little less than you would for clouds, and let the draw stay slightly warm. Over-driving a coil burns off the delicate top notes, and it is the most common reason a new kit seems to taste flat.

Here are the e-liquid styles that tend to suit a tank of this kind, with a short note on each:

  • Tobacco and tobacco blends: a sensible first choice for ex-smokers; a 50/50 tobacco at a modest power setting is a familiar, steady draw
  • Menthol and mint: cooling flavours that come through cleanly; menthol ice blends hold up well at higher output
  • Fruit and berry: blue raspberry, strawberry, mixed berry and apple suit a warm draw and show off the tank's flavour clarity
  • Tropical and citrus: mango, pineapple, lemon and passion fruit; these tend to be brighter and lighter, and benefit from a mid-power coil
  • Dessert and bakery: custard, vanilla, biscuit and cream; thicker flavours that suit lower-resistance coils but can build gunk on the coil faster
  • Drinks and candy: cola, energy drink and sweet-shop styles, which are generally fine but sweeter liquids shorten coil life

A practical tip: sweetener-heavy liquids caramelise on the coil and can mute flavour within a few days. If you favour dessert or candy flavours, expect to change coils a little more often, and consider keeping a second coil in reserve. Switching between very different flavours in the same tank also works better if you rinse the tank and let it dry first; ghosting of the previous flavour is common otherwise.

Design and build quality

Drag-series devices have a recognisable look: a compact, rounded body, a front-facing display and a large, easy-to-find fire button. The Drag 6 continues that approach. The design emphasis is on handling, with an ergonomic shape that sits comfortably in the palm and a button placement that does not need a second look when you pick the device up.

Most Voopoo mods use a zinc alloy frame with a coated finish, and a glass or polycarbonate tank section sits above it. Zinc alloy is a sensible material for this price bracket: it is rigid, takes paint and texture well, and keeps weight reasonable. The trade-off is that painted finishes can wear at the edges after months of being carried in a pocket with keys. If you care about appearance, a cheap silicone sleeve is a worthwhile add-on and keeps cosmetic wear to a minimum.

The eight colour variants in this family let you choose a look without paying more for different electronics. Darker finishes tend to hide fingerprints and scuffs better, while lighter or metallic finishes look sharper when new but show wear sooner. Check the product photos carefully and choose a colour you will still like after a few months of daily handling.

Points to check on arrival, which apply to any refillable kit:

  • The tank threads onto the mod smoothly and sits flush, with no wobble
  • The fire button has a firm, even click and does not rattle
  • The battery door or cell compartment, if there is one, closes securely
  • The display is clear and the menu responds to the button presses described in the manual
  • The tank's filling port slides or swings open and closes with a positive stop

Build quality in this price range is usually sound but not indestructible. The kit should be treated as a daily-use gadget, not a rugged tool: keep it out of wet pockets, do not leave it in a hot car, and wipe the contacts occasionally with a dry cotton bud. Those habits matter more to its lifespan than any single material choice.

Battery life and charging

Battery behaviour is the area where Drag kits vary most between configurations, so check the product page to confirm whether your version uses removable 18650 cells or an internal battery. Both approaches work, and each has trade-offs.

With removable cells, you can carry a spare and swap in seconds, which means you are never stuck waiting for a charge. You also get to choose the cell, and a good branded 18650 will outlast a cheap one considerably. The downside is the care involved: cells need a proper wrap, an external charger is ideal, and they should never be carried loose in a pocket with coins or keys. Use a plastic cell case when carrying spares.

With an internal battery, there is nothing to buy or maintain. You charge the device over USB-C, and that is that. The trade-off is that the capacity is fixed, and if the battery degrades after a couple of years of daily use, the whole device ages with it.

Runtime depends heavily on output. As a rough guide:

  • Low to mid power with a higher-resistance coil: a full day for a moderate user
  • High power with a low-resistance coil: noticeably shorter, and heavy users may need a spare cell or a mid-day top-up
  • Chain vaping at maximum output: the fastest drain, and the device may also get warm

For charging, use the supplied USB-C cable or a reputable replacement, and a standard wall adapter from a known brand. Avoid unbranded fast chargers of unknown quality. Do not leave a device charging unattended overnight on a soft surface such as a bed or sofa, and unplug it once it reads full.

Recycling: lithium cells must never go in household bins or kerbside recycling, because they can start fires in waste vehicles and sorting plants. In the UK, shops that sell batteries are required to take back used ones, and most local household waste recycling centres have a battery drop-off point. Take old cells, damaged devices and spent kits to one of these. It takes a minute and it protects waste workers.

PnP coils and the GENE chip explained

Two pieces of technology define the Drag 6 experience: the PnP coil platform and the GENE chip. Understanding both helps you get more from the kit and avoid wasting money on the wrong consumables.

PnP stands for plug-and-play. The coil is a self-contained cartridge with a wick and heating element already built in, and it presses into the base of the tank. There is no rewicking, no wire to wrap and no cotton to trim, so it is accessible for new vapers while still giving experienced users a range of options. The resistance of each coil is printed on its side, and different resistances suit different styles:

  • Higher resistance (roughly 0.6 ohm and above): mouth-to-lung style, suited to 50/50 liquids and nicotine salts, with lower power needs and longer battery life
  • Mid resistance (roughly 0.3 to 0.5 ohm): a flexible middle ground that works with 60/40 and 70/30 liquids across a wide power range
  • Lower resistance (roughly 0.2 ohm and below): restricted-lung or direct-lung style, suited to high-VG liquids and more power

Most PnP coils use a mesh element rather than a traditional round-wire coil. Mesh offers a wider heating surface, which tends to give quicker ramp-up and more even flavour than a single wire. The trade-off is that mesh coils can be less forgiving of very sweet liquids and may show wear sooner if they are overdriven.

Coil life varies. Most people find a PnP coil lasts one to three weeks of regular use, depending on the e-liquid, the power setting and how often they vape. The signs that it is time for a new coil include a burnt or flat taste, a rattling or gurgling sound, reduced vapour and a dry hit. If you notice any of those, change the coil rather than trying to push through, because a burnt coil spoils the flavour of fresh liquid and can taste unpleasant for a while.

The GENE chip handles the electronics. It controls power delivery, monitors for short circuits, low-resistance faults and over-temperature, and drives the display. You will use the menu to change output and check coil resistance, and you should read the manual once so you know how to lock the buttons for the pocket. Chip firmware is not typically user-upgradable on this class of device, so what you buy is what you keep.

When buying replacement coils, make sure they are PnP-compatible. Voopoo sells several PnP coil types, and while many fit multiple Voopoo tanks, some are tank-specific, so match them to the product listing.

Choosing a nicotine strength

Choosing a nicotine strength is the single most important decision after picking the kit, and it is easy to get wrong. UK law caps nicotine e-liquid at 20mg/ml and bottle size at 10ml, so you will see strengths up to 20mg/ml on shelves. The 20mg/ml cap applies across the board, whether the liquid is intended for a small pod kit, a tank like this one or, previously, a disposable device. Because the Drag 6 is a refillable tank kit rather than a disposable, you control the strength.

The right strength depends on three things: how much you smoked, what type of nicotine the liquid uses, and the power at which you will run the device.

  • Nicotine salt, 10mg/ml: a smooth hit and quick nicotine delivery, suited to lower power and higher-resistance coils; common for people who smoked a pack a day or less
  • Nicotine salt, 20mg/ml: the maximum in the UK; reserved for low-power, tight-draw use and for heavy ex-smokers; it can be harsh at higher output
  • Freebase nicotine, 3mg/ml: typical for high-power, direct-to-lung use with 70VG liquids
  • Freebase nicotine, 6mg/ml: a common mid-step, for people who want a bit more throat hit and nicotine at moderate power
  • Freebase nicotine, 12mg/ml: for tighter draws with a 50/50 blend, usually at lower power

The more power you push through a coil, the more liquid you vaporise per puff, and the more nicotine you get in each draw. That is why high-power use pairs with low strengths, and low-power use pairs with higher strengths. Putting 20mg/ml salt in a tank and running it at high wattage is a recipe for nicotine overload: dizziness, nausea, a racing pulse and headaches. If that happens, stop vaping, take fresh air and drink some water.

Many UK vapers also use shortfill bottles with nicotine shots. A 50ml shortfill of 0mg liquid in a 60ml bottle takes one 10ml, 18mg/ml shot to give roughly 3mg/ml. That route is cost-efficient for high-VG, high-power use, and it is a common way to run a Drag-style kit economically.

If you are unsure, start lower than you think you need and adjust upward. Nicotine is addictive, and the aim for most adult smokers is to switch away from cigarettes and then gradually step the strength down over time.

Who the Drag 6 suits, and who should skip it

No kit suits everyone, and being honest about the limits will save you money. Here is a plain-spoken view of where the Drag 6 fits.

It is a good match if you:

  • are an adult smoker or existing vaper who wants a refillable alternative to disposables
  • want to choose your own e-liquid, nicotine strength and VG/PG balance
  • like adjustable power and are happy to read a short manual and learn a simple menu
  • prefer swapping a coil to throwing away a whole device
  • want lower running costs over several months than single-use or pre-filled pods can offer
  • like the idea of one device that can cover both tight and airy draws via different coils

You may want to skip it if you:

  • want a pocket-sized, no-fuss, fill-and-forget experience; a compact pod kit will be simpler and slimmer
  • dislike carrying spare coils, a bottle of liquid and a charging cable
  • are a heavy high-power user who is frustrated by the 2ml tank limit and would rather not refill several times a day
  • are new to vaping and want the lowest-possible-effort start; a basic auto-draw pod kit with pre-filled pods has fewer steps
  • have never smoked or vaped; this is a nicotine product and is not intended for you

It is also worth considering the learning curve. Refillable tanks are not complicated, but they do ask a bit more of you than a disposable ever did: priming a coil, choosing a power setting, filling without flooding, and cleaning the contacts. The first week involves some trial and error. Most people find that after one or two refills the routine becomes second nature, and the extra control is worth it.

If you are moving away from cigarettes, many people find that a slightly more satisfying draw helps with the switch. That is where a kit with adjustable power and a mesh coil can help, because you can tune the experience until it feels right instead of settling for what a pre-set pod gives you. Support is also available from local stop-smoking services in the UK if you want help alongside any vaping product.

Setting up and using the kit

Setting up the Drag 6 is straightforward, and doing it carefully the first time pays off. Follow these steps and read the included manual for model-specific menu details.

  • Charge first: plug in the USB-C cable and charge fully before first use, or insert fully charged cells if the device takes removable batteries
  • Check the parts: remove packaging and any plastic film from the tank and coil, and make sure the seals are seated
  • Fit the coil: push the PnP coil firmly into the tank base until it seats; a loose coil can leak
  • Fill the tank: open the filling port, tilt the tank, and fill along the inside wall without pouring into the central chimney; stay below the max line
  • Prime the coil: add a few drops straight onto the wick through the coil's intake holes if the instructions suggest it, then let the tank stand for five to ten minutes so the cotton soaks fully
  • Assemble: screw the tank onto the mod, finger tight only
  • Power on: press the fire button five times quickly if that is the on-off sequence in your manual, then confirm the screen lights
  • Start low: set the output at the low end of the coil's recommended range, take a few gentle puffs, then raise power gradually until the flavour is clear and the draw is comfortable
  • Set airflow: close it down for a tight draw or open it for a looser draw

Everyday habits that extend coil and tank life include taking short puffs of two to four seconds rather than long drags, leaving a gap between puffs so the wick can re-saturate, and never firing the device with an empty tank. Wipe the mouthpiece and the mod's top contact with a tissue once a week.

When refilling, turn the device off or lock it, unscrew the tank, fill, and let the liquid settle for a minute. If you change flavour, rinse the tank under warm water, dry it fully, and fit a fresh coil for a clean result. Never submerge the mod itself. Store the kit upright, switched off, and away from children and pets. Nicotine e-liquid should be kept in a child-resistant bottle out of reach.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most problems with refillable kits have simple fixes. Here are the ones we see most often with Drag-style devices and what to try.

  • Burnt taste: usually a dry or worn coil. Let the coil soak longer after priming, lower the power, take shorter puffs, and replace the coil if the taste does not clear in a day or two
  • Leaking from the tank: check that the coil is fully seated, the seals are not twisted, the filling port is shut, and you have not overfilled. Thin 50/50 liquids leak more readily in a loose coil. Keep the device upright and avoid flying or travelling with a full tank
  • Gurgling or spitting: too much liquid around the coil or an airflow setting that is too tight. Blow gently back through the mouthpiece to clear it, and open the airflow a little
  • Check Atomizer or No Atomizer message: the contact between coil and mod is poor. Unscrew the tank, wipe both contacts with a dry cotton bud, and refit the coil firmly
  • Short Circuit or low resistance warning: remove the tank, check for liquid on the contacts, dry them, and try a fresh coil. If the error continues with a new coil, contact support
  • Device will not fire: check the battery or cell charge, confirm the device is switched on and not locked, and try a different cell or cable
  • Weak vapour: raise power slightly, open the airflow, check the liquid level, and consider changing to a thinner liquid if you are using a very high-VG blend in a higher-resistance coil
  • Sweet-flavour dullness: sugar-heavy liquids gunk up the coil. Change the coil and consider a lower power setting
  • Device gets hot: stop using it, remove the battery if it is removable, let it cool, and do not use it again until you have checked the cells and contacts. If a cell is swollen, damaged or hissing, stop and take it to a battery recycling point

If none of these steps resolve the issue, keep your order details and the device's batch information to hand and contact our support team. Report faults promptly, and do not attempt to open the device or modify the electronics. Battery faults in particular should be taken seriously, and a quick message to support is always better than a risky workaround.

Value for money and honest comparisons

Kits in this class typically sell somewhere between the low twenties and mid forties in pounds, depending on configuration and whether batteries are included. Where the Drag 6 sits in that range is shown on the product page, and it is worth looking at the total cost of ownership rather than just the sticker price.

A refillable kit has two ongoing costs: coils and e-liquid. Coils run to a few pounds each and last roughly one to three weeks, depending on use. E-liquid in 10ml bottles or shortfills costs far less per millilitre than the pre-filled disposables that have now left the UK market. Over three months, a refillable setup usually costs a fraction of the same amount of vaping on single-use products, and it generates far less waste.

Here is how the Drag 6 compares with rival options, as fairly as we can put it:

  • Vaporesso GTX and Gen-style kits: a close competitor with its own chip and coil system. Vaporesso coils are widely available and the user interface is clean. Which one feels better is largely personal preference, and coil availability is similar
  • Geekvape Aegis range: built around durability and water and shock resistance, which the Drag line does not emphasise. If you work outdoors or are rough on kit, the Aegis is worth considering. For general daily use, the Drag offers a slimmer, more conventional feel
  • SMOK Nord and RPM pod kits: simpler, smaller and often cheaper, with a gentler learning curve. They are a better pick for strict mouth-to-lung, low-power use, but less flexible if you want power control
  • Uwell Caliburn pod kits: excellent for simplicity and pocketability, with less adjustability and smaller liquid capacity per coil than a tank kit
  • OXVA Xlim kits: well regarded for mouth-to-lung flavour and compact size. Less power headroom than a Drag-style mod

The honest summary is that the Drag 6 offers good flexibility for its price, a coil system that is widely stocked in the UK, and a user interface that is easy to learn. It does not try to be the smallest, the most rugged or the cheapest, and if one of those qualities is your top priority, there are alternatives that suit you better. For a general-purpose refillable kit that can switch between tight and airy styles, it is a sensible, well-rounded choice.

To get more from your money, buy a couple of spare coils at the same time as the kit, choose a reputable e-liquid brand, and take care of the batteries. Those three habits cost very little and will do more for your experience than any upgrade.

Frequently asked questions

What nicotine strength should I use with the VooPoo Drag 6?

It depends on how you vape. For tighter, lower-power draws with a higher-resistance coil, a nicotine salt at 10mg/ml is a common starting point, with 20mg/ml (the UK maximum) reserved for heavier ex-smokers. For higher-power, airy draws with a low-resistance coil, most people use 3mg/ml or 6mg/ml freebase in a 70VG liquid. If you are unsure, start lower and step up.

How do I charge the kit and how long does it take?

Charge it with the supplied USB-C cable and a standard wall adapter from a reputable brand. Charge time depends on whether your version has an internal battery or takes removable 18650 cells, so check the product page and manual. Do not leave it charging unattended on soft furnishings, and unplug it once it reads full.

Do the eight variants taste different?

No. For a kit, the variants are colour and finish options, and the electronics, tank and coil system are the same. Flavour comes from the e-liquid you put in the tank, so you can choose any flavour and nicotine strength that suits you. Pick the colour you prefer and the e-liquid you enjoy separately.

How long does a PnP coil last?

Most people get roughly one to three weeks from a coil, depending on power, liquid and how much they vape. Sweet, dessert-style liquids shorten coil life because sugars build up on the coil. Change the coil when you notice a burnt or flat taste, a gurgling sound or weak vapour, rather than pushing on.

Is the Drag 6 good value compared with disposables?

Since single-use vapes were banned in the UK from 1 June 2025, refillable kits are the main option, and they are cheaper to run than pre-filled devices. You pay for the kit once, then for coils and e-liquid, which cost far less per millilitre than a disposable. Over a few months the saving is usually substantial.

Who should not buy this kit?

Anyone under 18, and anyone who does not already smoke or vape, should not buy it, because nicotine is addictive. It may also not suit people who want a fill-and-forget experience; a simple pre-filled pod kit has fewer steps. Heavy high-power users may find the 2ml UK tank limit means frequent refills.

Do you deliver to the UK, and how fast?

Yes, we ship to UK addresses. Delivery options, costs and dispatch times are shown at checkout, and because this is a nicotine product, age verification is required. Please make sure someone aged 18 or over can receive the parcel, as the carrier may check ID on delivery.

What warranty and returns apply?

Voopoo hardware normally carries a manufacturer warranty, which is detailed on the card in the box. Consumables such as coils and seals are generally excluded. If your kit arrives faulty, contact us promptly with your order details, and your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 also apply. See our returns policy page for the full terms.

Can I use it for mouth-to-lung vaping like a cigarette?

Yes, if you fit a higher-resistance PnP coil, run it at lower power, close the airflow and use a 50/50 e-liquid, ideally a nicotine salt. That setup gives a tighter, cooler draw closer to a cigarette. Check the coil resistance printed on the coil and match it to the recommended wattage range.

How do I dispose of old batteries, coils and kits in the UK?

Never put lithium cells or vape devices in household bins or kerbside recycling, as they can cause fires. Take them to a battery recycling point: shops that sell batteries must accept used ones, and most local household waste recycling centres have a drop-off. Used coils and empty bottles should go to the same facilities where accepted.

Zero complaints

Taste is proper — no chemical aftertaste or anything. Just clean flavour throughout. Love it.

Arrived next day as promised

Switched from a well-known brand and this is actually better, especially for the price. Will reorder.

Flavour is spot on

Delivery was super fast and the product is genuine. I've had fakes before so this was a relief.
