Hayati Liora Pod Vape Kit: what it is and what it is for

Hayati Liora Pod Vape Kit is a rechargeable pod device sold under the Hayati name and listed here as a kit with nine variants in the same family. A pod kit is a different proposition from the sealed, single-use bars that made Hayati a familiar name on UK shelves. Instead of throwing the whole unit away when the liquid runs out, you keep the battery body and change the pod, which lowers the cost of each day's vaping and cuts down on the amount of electronic waste you generate.

That shift matters more than it did a couple of years ago. Since 1 June 2025 the sale of single-use vapes has been banned in Great Britain, so anything you buy now has to be a reusable device. A kit like this sits squarely on the legal side of that line: the battery is rechargeable through a USB-C port, the pod is a consumable part, and the body is meant to last for months rather than days. If you were buying a 600-puff bar every few days, this is the format the market has moved towards.

Hayati's pod kit is aimed at the adult smoker or ex-smoker who wants something close to the simplicity of a disposable without the throwaway habit. The experience is built around a compact body, a click-in pod, a draw-activated or single-button firing system and a nicotine range that tops out at the UK legal limit of 20mg/ml. There is no fiddly tank to strip down, no coil to build, and no settings menu to learn.

This guide covers what to expect from the device in practical terms: puff delivery, the flavour families you can choose from, design and build, battery behaviour, how the coil and pod work, which nicotine strength to pick, who should buy it and who should skip it, how to set it up, how to fix common faults, and how the value compares with the alternatives. Where a figure varies between pod types or production batches, we say so and point you to the listing rather than guess. The product page and the printed box are the final word on exact specifications.

  • Format: rechargeable pod kit with replaceable pods, not a disposable.
  • Variants: nine in the family, selectable on the product page.
  • Nicotine: strengths up to the UK cap of 20mg/ml, depending on the variant.
  • Age: for adults aged 18 and over only, and for current smokers or existing vapers.

Performance and puff delivery

Puff counts are the number people look at first, and also the number they trust least. On disposables the printed figure is a manufacturer estimate based on a standard draw of around two to three seconds. On a pod kit the equivalent question is how many puffs you get from a single pod, and the answer depends on pod capacity, coil resistance, battery output and how you draw.

The legal ceiling for a refillable or replaceable pod in the UK is 2ml, so that is the sensible capacity to expect. As a working rule of thumb, mouth-to-lung devices of this class give roughly 250 to 300 puffs per millilitre, which puts a full 2ml pod somewhere between 500 and 600 puffs of normal use. Long, slow draws and chain vaping use more liquid per puff; short sips use less. If you are a light user who takes ten or fifteen puffs an hour, a single pod could last you two or three days. A heavier user may finish a pod within a day.

Vapour production on a pod kit of this type is moderate by design. The output is tuned for a tight, restricted draw similar to pulling on a cigarette, with a throat hit that depends on the nicotine strength you choose. You should not expect the huge clouds of a sub-ohm tank; the aim here is flavour and nicotine delivery in a compact package. Lower-resistance mesh pods will feel warmer and more vapour-heavy, while higher-resistance pods feel cooler and tighter.

Consistency over the life of the pod is the other half of performance. A well-made pod should deliver a steady flavour from the first puff to the last, then fade quickly rather than turning harsh. If you notice a burnt or dry taste while the pod still has liquid in it, that points to a wicking problem, covered in the troubleshooting section below.

  • Typical pod capacity: up to 2ml, the UK limit.
  • Typical puffs per pod: in the region of 500 to 600 on a normal draw.
  • Draw style: mouth-to-lung, restricted, cigarette-like.
  • Output: fixed by the device, with no wattage adjustments to make.

Treat these as realistic planning figures rather than guarantees. Your own habits will move them up or down by a fair margin.

Flavour profile across the nine options

With nine variants in the family, the range is wide enough to cover most tastes without becoming a menu you have to study. The flavours fall into a handful of familiar groups, and it helps to think about the group first and the individual name second. The selector on the product page lists the exact nine; what follows describes the kinds of profile you will find and how each tends to behave in a pod system.

Fruit and ice. Blue raspberry, watermelon, mixed berry and similar fruit blends with a cooling finish make up the largest share of the vaping market, and this family follows suit. In an ice variant, the menthol is usually added at a light level so that it chills the exhale without masking the fruit. If you are new to ice flavours, expect a cool throat and a clean aftertaste.

Sweet and dessert. Candy, gummy and creamy profiles taste richer and heavier. They tend to leave more residue on the coil, which means the pod's flavour can mellow before the liquid runs out. They suit people who want something that tastes clearly different from tobacco.

Tropical and citrus. Mango, pineapple, lemonade and passionfruit style blends have a tangy, bright edge. These are the variants most likely to feel sharp at 20mg, so a lower strength is worth considering if you are sensitive to throat hit.

Fresh and menthol. Straight mint or menthol appeals to people moving away from menthol cigarettes. The cool sensation stays steady through the whole pod.

Tobacco. A traditional tobacco flavour is the usual choice for someone switching directly from smoking who does not want a sweet taste at all.

  • Choose a fruit-ice blend if you want an easy, familiar everyday flavour.
  • Choose a dessert flavour if you want a clear break from tobacco taste.
  • Choose tobacco or menthol if you are switching from cigarettes and want continuity.
  • Pick a single flavour first; swapping later costs only the price of another pod, not another device.

One practical point: flavours from different families should not be mixed in the same pod. If you change flavour, replace the pod rather than topping up, so that the old liquid does not ghost into the new one.

Design and build quality

The Hayati Liora is built as a slim, pocketable device that sits closer to a pen or a small pebble than to a chunky box mod. That format is deliberate. A pod kit lives in a jacket pocket or a bag, so the body needs to be light, rounded and smooth enough that it does not snag on fabric. Most devices at this price use an aluminium or zinc alloy shell, or a hard plastic shell with a soft-touch coating; the listing will say which finish applies to your colourway.

The pod clicks into the top of the body, normally with a magnetic or push-fit connection and a small set of metal contacts that pass power to the coil. A good fit means the pod seats flush, does not rattle and does not need force to remove. If you can wobble the pod in the socket, it is either not fully seated or the contacts are dirty, and the fix is to remove it, wipe the contacts with a dry tissue and refit it.

At the base you will find a USB-C charging port. USB-C is worth having because the cable is the same as the one used on most phones, so you are unlikely to be caught without one. A small LED indicator shows battery level, charging and fault conditions. The mouthpiece is typically moulded into the pod and shaped to sit comfortably against the lips, with a flat or slightly flared profile.

Build quality is easiest to judge in three places: how cleanly the pod seats, how firmly the body is sealed around the charging port, and whether the shell flexes when you grip it. Rattling, creaking or visible gaps at the seams are signs of poor assembly, and if you receive a unit like that you should contact us and ask for it to be replaced.

  • Form factor: slim, pocketable body.
  • Pod connection: magnetic or push-fit, with contacts under the pod.
  • Charging: USB-C port at the base.
  • Indicator: LED for battery, charge and fault status.
  • Care: keep the contacts and the base port free from lint and spilled liquid.

Colourways differ between variants, so the cosmetic choice is separate from the flavour choice, and the product images show how each one looks.

Battery life and charging

Pod kits in this class normally carry a built-in lithium-polymer battery in the 400mAh to 1000mAh range, with the exact figure shown on the listing and printed on the packaging. A capacity at the lower end suits a device that fires at around 8 to 10 watts through a high-resistance coil, because it does not draw much current. A capacity at the upper end gives you more headroom for all-day use or for a lower-resistance pod.

As a sense check, a 500mAh battery driving a fixed-output pod will normally last for a full day of light to moderate use, which is about 250 to 350 puffs. A 1000mAh battery should comfortably last a heavier user through a day and often into the next. If you are replacing a pod every day, you will probably recharge every day or every second day.

Charging takes around 30 to 60 minutes on a standard 5V phone charger or a computer USB port, depending on capacity. The LED will normally turn from red or amber to green or switch off when the battery is full. Use the cable that came in the box or a reputable replacement, and avoid very high-output fast chargers meant for laptops, because a cheap charger or damaged cable is the most common cause of battery trouble.

Good battery habits extend the life of the device and keep you safe. A lithium battery does not like heat, crushing or being left flat for weeks.

  • Do not leave the device charging unattended overnight, and do not charge it on a bed, sofa or other soft surface.
  • Do not leave it in a hot car, on a radiator or in direct sunlight.
  • Keep it away from loose coins and keys in a pocket, where metal can touch the contacts.
  • If the casing swells, smells of burning, or becomes hot during charging, stop using it, unplug it and take it to a recycling point.
  • Recharge before it is fully empty where you can; deep discharges shorten battery life over time.

Most users get several months of use from the body before capacity noticeably drops, and because the battery is part of the reusable body, you only buy new pods in the meantime.

Pod, coil and mesh technology

The pod is where the real work of the device happens. It holds the e-liquid, wicks it onto a heating element, and delivers the vapour through the mouthpiece. Three things determine how it feels: the coil material, the coil resistance and the wicking.

Mesh coils. A mesh coil spreads the heat across a flat surface of fine stainless steel mesh instead of a single wire wrapped around cotton. That gives a larger contact area with the wicking material, so the liquid heats more evenly and flavour reproduction tends to be cleaner and more consistent. Mesh coils usually warm up quickly and are less prone to hot spots, which are the places that scorch the cotton and cause a burnt taste.

Ceramic coils. Some pods use a porous ceramic block with the heating element embedded in it. Ceramic holds its shape well and has a long working life, but can feel slightly less vivid in flavour than mesh when it is new. Neither type is better in every situation; it is a matter of taste.

Resistance. Pod systems aimed at smokers tend to sit between about 0.8 and 1.2 ohms. A resistance around 1.0 ohm at 8 to 12 watts gives a cooler, tighter draw. A resistance nearer 0.6 ohm gives a warmer, more vapour-heavy draw at higher power. The higher the resistance, the less battery each puff uses.

Liquid and wicking. The pod is filled with e-liquid made to the UK specification: nicotine is capped at 20mg/ml, and the pod capacity is capped at 2ml. Most pod liquids are nicotine salts, which are smoother at higher strengths than freebase nicotine.

  • Priming: let a new pod rest for five minutes before the first puff, so the cotton wicks fully.
  • Coil life: a pod's coil usually lasts the life of the pod; with very sweet liquids it may fade sooner.
  • Leaks: keep the pod upright where possible and avoid squeezing it.

If you buy refillable pods, fill them only with a nicotine salt liquid in a 10ml bottle at or under 20mg/ml, and avoid thick, high-VG liquids that a high-resistance coil cannot wick well.

Choosing a nicotine strength

Nicotine strength is the decision that most affects whether the device works for you or not. Too low and you will keep puffing and feel unsatisfied; too high and you will cough, feel lightheaded or put the device down altogether. UK rules cap nicotine at 20mg/ml in any vape liquid, so you will not find anything stronger from a regulated retailer, and this applies equally to pod liquids and to disposables.

A sensible way to choose is to start from how much you smoke or vape now and match it to a strength band. These are general guides rather than medical advice, and everyone's tolerance is different.

  • 20mg/ml (2%): for people who smoke ten or more cigarettes a day, or who smoke within half an hour of waking. It gives a firm throat hit and the quickest nicotine delivery. Because the liquid is a nicotine salt, it feels smoother than the same strength in freebase form.
  • 10mg/ml (1%): for lighter smokers, for people who want to step down after a few weeks at 20mg, or for those who find 20mg harsh. Expect to puff slightly more often.
  • 5mg/ml or below: for former heavy vapers who are tapering, or for light social users who still want a trace of nicotine.

It helps to remember that a nicotine salt at 20mg gives a similar blood level to a cigarette, but quite a bit faster than freebase. If you have never used a salt liquid before, starting one band lower than you think you need is a reasonable approach; you can always move up on the next pod.

The throat hit also depends on flavour. Menthol and tobacco flavours feel stronger at the same strength than sweet fruit flavours, because the menthol or tobacco compounds add to the sensation in the back of the throat.

Nicotine is addictive. It is not recommended for non-smokers, under-18s, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or people with certain heart conditions without speaking to a doctor first. If your aim is to quit nicotine entirely, a stop-smoking service or your local pharmacy can set out a structured step-down plan, and vaping can be one part of it.

Who the Liora kit suits, and who should skip it

No single device suits everyone, and an honest recommendation includes the people it does not suit. Here is how we would sort it.

Good fit. The kit works well for adult smokers moving away from cigarettes, particularly those who found disposables convenient but expensive. It also works for people who want a pocket device they can recharge at a desk and carry without thinking about it. If you want a simple pull-and-go experience with a choice of flavour families, that is exactly what this format offers. Existing disposable vapers will notice little difference in the draw, but will see a lower cost per day once they have bought the kit.

  • Smokers who want a cigarette-like, mouth-to-lung draw.
  • Disposable users who want to cut cost and waste.
  • People who want a no-maintenance device with no coil building or e-liquid mixing.
  • Travellers and commuters who want a small, charge-anywhere device.

Probably not for you. A pod kit with a fixed output is not the best tool for someone who wants to tinker with wattage and airflow, or for someone who prefers large clouds and a lot of vapour. In that case, an adjustable pod mod or a small box mod with a sub-ohm tank would suit better, and the cost of entry is only a little higher.

  • Cloud chasers or anyone who wants a direct-to-lung, sub-ohm draw.
  • Experienced vapers who want adjustable power and airflow.
  • Anyone who prefers to mix or choose their own bottled liquid in a large tank.
  • Anyone under 18, and non-smokers who have never used nicotine. Vaping is for adults who already use nicotine.
  • Anyone who needs a medical-grade nicotine product; talk to a pharmacist about licensed products.

If you are not sure which side you fall on, ask yourself one question: do you want the vape to disappear into your routine, or do you want to learn it as a hobby? The first answer points to this kit. The second points elsewhere.

How to set up and use it

Setting up the kit takes a few minutes and needs nothing beyond what is in the box. Follow the steps in order the first time, because skipping the priming and charging steps is the most common reason a new device tastes harsh.

  • Check the contents. The box should hold the battery body, one or more pods, a USB-C cable and the safety leaflet. If anything is missing, contact us with your order number.
  • Charge the battery. Plug the cable into a phone charger or computer port and charge until the LED shows full. A first charge of around 30 to 60 minutes is typical.
  • Remove the pod seal. Take off any protective cap or silicone plug on the pod, and check that the mouthpiece and the base are clear.
  • Seat the pod. Push it firmly into the body until it clicks or sits flush against the magnet.
  • Prime the pod. Wait five minutes so the liquid soaks into the wick. Skipping this step causes dry hits.
  • Take a gentle first draw. Use a slow three-second pull. If the device is draw-activated, there is no button to press; if it has a button, hold it as you inhale.

Draw technique matters. Mouth-to-lung means drawing the vapour into your mouth first, pausing briefly, then inhaling into the lungs. A slow, smooth draw gives the best flavour; a hard, fast draw cools the coil too quickly and tastes thinner. Let a few seconds pass between puffs so the coil can recover and the wick can refill.

When the pod is empty, or the flavour has faded, take it out and fit a new one. Do not try to refill a prefilled pod unless the maker states that it can be refilled; forcing liquid into a sealed pod can damage it and leak into the body. If you are using a refillable pod, fill to the maximum line only, leave the vent clear and let it prime again for a few minutes.

Between sessions, keep the device upright if you can, keep it dry and store it somewhere cool. Wipe the contacts occasionally with a dry cotton bud, and never submerge it in water.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most faults on a pod kit come down to a short list of causes, and most are fixable in under a minute. Work through these before assuming the device is broken.

  • No vapour and the LED flashes. The pod is probably not seated. Remove it, wipe the contacts, push it back until it sits flush, and try again. A flashing light can also mean the battery is low, so charge it for fifteen minutes and test again.
  • Burnt or dry taste. This usually means the coil is not getting enough liquid. Check that the pod still has liquid visible, rest it for five minutes, and take shorter, slower puffs. If the taste persists with liquid still in the pod, the coil has reached the end of its life and the pod should be replaced.
  • Gurgling or spitting. Condensation has built up in the airway. Remove the pod and blow gently through the mouthpiece to clear it, and wipe the mouthpiece with a tissue.
  • Leaking from the pod or the base. Over-tight pressure, temperature swings or a cracked pod can cause leaks. Wipe the pod and the contacts, keep the device upright, and replace the pod if the leak continues. Liquid on the contacts can stop the device firing, so dry them before using.
  • Weak flavour. Flavour fade is normal at the end of a pod. It can also be caused by a nearly empty battery, since the output drops as voltage falls. Charge and test.
  • Won't charge. Try a different cable and a different port or adapter. Check the charging port for lint with a wooden toothpick, and do not use metal. If the LED still does not respond, contact us.
  • Device gets warm. Mild warmth is normal while firing. Heat during charging, a hot casing or a swollen body is not; stop use immediately and recycle the unit.
  • Auto cut-off. Most devices stop firing after around 8 to 10 seconds of continuous draw as a safety measure. Release, wait a moment and draw again.

If you have tried these steps and the device still fails, keep the packaging, take a photo of the fault if you can, and contact us with your order number. A genuine fault on arrival is covered by your consumer rights, and we would rather replace it than leave you with something unusable.

Value for money and how it compares

The honest way to judge value on a pod kit is to compare the cost per day over a month, not the price on the day. A single-use bar is no longer legal to sell, but many people still carry the memory of paying around five or six pounds for a bar that lasted a few days. A pod kit costs more on the first day because you are buying the battery body as well, then drops sharply because replacement pods cost less than a whole device. A person who uses one pod every two days is likely to spend noticeably less per month than they did on bars.

Here is how the Liora compares with other established options, kept deliberately fair.

  • Versus closed-pod systems such as Vuse ePod. A closed system from a tobacco company has a wide retail presence and consistent quality control, but a narrower flavour selection and fewer strengths. Hayati's kit tends to offer a wider flavour spread, while the larger brand wins on availability in shops.
  • Versus prefilled pod kits from Elf Bar-style brands. The comparison is close: both use compact bodies and prefilled pods, and the real difference is flavour taste and pod price. Try one flavour from each if you can.
  • Versus refillable pod mods such as the Oxva Xlim or Vaporesso Xros range. These cost more, offer adjustable airflow and in some cases adjustable wattage, and suit people who want to use bottled liquid. They have a steeper learning curve and more ways for things to go wrong. The Liora is simpler and a better match for someone who just wants to vape.
  • Versus a basic rechargeable cig-a-like. Cheaper to start with, but flavour and nicotine delivery are weaker, and many smokers find they do not satisfy cravings.

Where the Liora is weaker than the refillable systems is flexibility: with a fixed output and a fixed pod format, you cannot change the settings or run any other brand's pods. Where it is stronger is ease, since there is nothing to adjust, and a spare pod in a pocket means a flavour swap takes seconds.

Look for multi-buy pod offers on the product page, which lower the cost per pod, and buy a spare cable at the same time. A kit with a spare pod or two in the bag is more useful than a device with only one flavour.

UK rules, delivery, recycling and safe storage

Vaping products in the UK are regulated under the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016, and the rules are the reason the product looks the way it does. Nicotine e-liquid is limited to 20mg/ml, pods and tanks are limited to 2ml, refill bottles are limited to 10ml and packaging must carry a health warning and a full ingredients list. You must be 18 or over to buy, and we may ask for age confirmation at checkout or on delivery.

The single-use ban that came into force on 1 June 2025 does not apply to a rechargeable, reusable kit like this one, which is why the pod format has grown in popularity. A device that has a rechargeable battery and replaceable pods is treated as a reusable vape, though it is still electrical equipment and must be disposed of correctly.

Recycling. Never put a vape, a pod or a battery in your household bin or kerbside recycling, because lithium batteries can start fires in collection vehicles and sorting plants. Under the UK's waste electrical rules, shops that sell vapes must offer a take-back service, so you can return used devices to any such retailer. You can also use a household waste recycling centre or a council electrical drop-off point. Use the postcode checker on a recycling locator service to find the nearest one. Empty pods should go in with the device, not in the general waste, as they contain residual liquid and electronic components.

Storage and safety. Keep the device, pods and any refill liquid out of reach of children and pets. Nicotine liquid is toxic if swallowed and can be absorbed through the skin, so wipe up any spill straight away and wash your hands. Store everything at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, and avoid leaving it in a checked suitcase or an unventilated glovebox.

  • Delivery: orders ship to UK addresses; options and costs are shown at checkout.
  • Age checks: be ready to show valid photo ID if asked.
  • Returns and faults: if the item is faulty or not as described, contact us promptly with your order number and photos.

Used responsibly and stored properly, a pod kit is a straightforward device. If any part of the setup or safety guidance is unclear, ask before you start rather than after something goes wrong.

Frequently asked questions

Which nicotine strength should I choose for the Hayati Liora Pod Vape Kit?

If you smoke ten or more cigarettes a day, 20mg/ml is the usual starting point, and it is the UK legal maximum. Lighter smokers or people who find 20mg harsh often do better on 10mg/ml, and anyone tapering down can move to 5mg/ml or lower. Check which strengths are offered for your chosen variant on the product page.

Is this a disposable vape?

No. It is a rechargeable pod kit with a replaceable pod, which makes it a reusable device. Single-use vapes can no longer be sold in Great Britain since 1 June 2025, whereas a kit with a rechargeable battery and swappable pods remains legal to sell to adults.

How do I charge it, and how long does it take?

Charge it through the USB-C port at the base using the supplied cable and a standard phone charger or computer port. A full charge typically takes 30 to 60 minutes, and the LED shows when it is done. Do not leave it charging overnight or on a soft surface, and stop using it if it becomes hot or swells.

Can I change flavour without buying a new device?

Yes. The battery body is reusable, so you only need to buy a new pod in the flavour you want and clip it in. Do not top up a used pod with a different flavour, as the old liquid will mix with the new one. Always replace the whole pod and let a new one rest for five minutes before the first puff.

How long does a pod last?

A 2ml pod typically gives in the region of 500 to 600 puffs on a normal draw, which is roughly one to three days depending on how much you vape. Longer draws, higher use and sweeter flavours can shorten that. If the taste turns burnt while liquid is still visible, replace the pod.

Is the kit good value compared with disposables?

In most cases, yes. The kit costs more on day one because you buy the battery body, but replacement pods are cheaper than a whole disposable, so the cost per day falls after the first week or two. Multi-buy offers on pods reduce the running cost further.

Who should not buy this product?

It is not for anyone under 18, for non-smokers who have never used nicotine, or for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It is also a poor fit for anyone who wants large clouds or adjustable power and airflow, since the output is fixed. If you have a heart condition, speak to your GP before using nicotine products.

Can I get it delivered anywhere in the UK?

We deliver to UK addresses, and the available delivery options and costs are shown at checkout. As this is an age-restricted product, you may be asked to confirm that you are 18 or over when you order and again on delivery, so have valid photo ID to hand.

What if my device arrives faulty or stops working?

Contact us with your order number and, if possible, a photo or short description of the fault. Items that are faulty on arrival or not as described are covered by your statutory consumer rights, and we will arrange a replacement or remedy. Before you do, try reseating the pod, cleaning the contacts and using a different charging cable.

How do I recycle the device and used pods?

Never put them in household bins or kerbside recycling, because the lithium battery is a fire risk. Take them to a shop that sells vapes, which must offer a take-back service, or to your local household waste recycling centre or electrical drop-off point. Put used pods in with the device.

Quality is there

Really nice flavour — not too sweet, not too harsh. Perfect in the middle. Second order already placed.
