SMOK Nord 6 Pod Kit overview: a big-battery refillable pod system

The SMOK Nord 6 Pod Kit is a rechargeable, refillable pod system from Smok, the Shenzhen-based manufacturer that has produced the Nord line since the original Nord arrived in 2019. It sits at the larger, higher-powered end of the pod-kit category. You get a palm-sized body with a 1.65-inch colour touchscreen, an integrated 3800mAh battery, adjustable output up to 80W and a refillable pod that takes Smok's RPM 4 coils. If you have used a Nord 4 or Nord 5 before, the overall format will feel familiar. What changes is the control method, which moves to a touchscreen, and the battery capacity, which is far larger than anything earlier Nord devices offered.

This page is written for UK vapers who want a straight answer to the practical questions. What does the kit actually do? How does it vape at different wattages? Which coil should you pick? What nicotine strength makes sense? How long will a charge last in real use? And is it worth the money compared with the slimmer pod systems that dominate the shelves? We cover each of those below, including the places where the Nord 6 is not the right tool for the job.

One point to settle early: this is a refillable device, not a disposable. Single-use disposable vapes were banned from sale in the UK from 1 June 2025, and the Nord 6 is unaffected by that change because the battery recharges and the pod and coil are replaceable parts. You buy e-liquid separately, fill the pod yourself, and swap the coil when it wears out. That route generally costs less over a few months than buying disposables, and it creates far less waste, provided you recycle the old parts correctly (more on that in the final section).

The kit is stocked in eight colour variants. The internal hardware, battery and pod system are the same across the range, so your choice between them is purely about looks and what is in stock at the time you order. If a particular colour is sold out, the product selector on this page will show it, and you lose nothing performance-wise by choosing another.

Finally, a note on nicotine. The Nord 6 is a vaping device for adult smokers and existing vapers. It is not intended for anyone who does not already use nicotine, and nobody under 18 can legally buy it in the UK. Vaping is widely regarded by UK health bodies as considerably less harmful than smoking, but it is not risk-free and nicotine is addictive. We make no medical claims about this product.

SMOK Nord 6 specifications at a glance

Retailer listings for the Nord 6 do not always agree with each other, mostly because the kit is sold in different pod sizes depending on the market. The figures below are the ones that appear most often, and where they differ between regions we say so. Always check the printed text on your pod and the leaflet in the box, which are the final word for your specific unit.

  • Output power: adjustable from 5W up to 80W
  • Battery: 3800mAh integrated lithium-ion cell, USB-C charging
  • Display: 1.65-inch HD colour touchscreen
  • Pod capacity (UK version): 2ml refillable pod. International versions of the Nord 6 are listed with a 5ml pod, but UK rules cap tanks and pods at 2ml, so UK-market stock uses the smaller size
  • Coil system: RPM 4 pods, with listings describing a 0.15Ω mesh coil and a 0.4Ω dual-mesh coil option
  • Supported resistance range: approximately 0.10Ω to 2.50Ω
  • Vaping styles: mouth-to-lung (MTL), restricted direct-to-lung (RDTL) and direct-to-lung (DTL), depending on the coil and airflow setting you choose
  • Weight: roughly 145g, including the integrated battery
  • E-liquid compatibility: freebase nicotine and nicotine salts, shortfills with nic shots, and nicotine-free liquid
  • Charging time: about 90 minutes to two hours on a suitable USB-C charger, according to retailer listings

A few of those numbers deserve context. The 3800mAh capacity is close to four times that of the 1000mAh-class slim pod systems many people start on. The 5W floor means the device can be run very gently for tight MTL pulls, while the 80W ceiling is high enough for a loose, warm DTL draw on the 0.15Ω coil. The wide resistance window simply means the chip will accept a range of coil types without throwing an error, which is useful if you later try a different Smok pod in the same series.

Not every pod in the Smok catalogue fits every Smok device. The Nord 6 uses its own pod body, so do not assume that Nord 4 or Nord 5 pods will clip in. Check compatibility before ordering spares, and if in doubt, use the pod listings on this site that name the Nord 6 specifically.

Performance and vapour delivery

Where the Nord 6 differs from compact pod systems is the range of vapes it can produce. A typical slim pod device has a fixed output of somewhere between 15W and 30W and one coil type, so the vape you get is the vape the manufacturer decided on. The Nord 6 lets you decide. The same device can give a tight, restricted draw at low wattage on the 0.4Ω dual-mesh coil, or a cooler, airier, more vapour-heavy draw at higher wattage on the 0.15Ω mesh coil.

On the 0.15Ω mesh coil, the vape is a direct-to-lung style. You inhale slowly and deeply, and the coil is designed to handle higher wattage without scorching the cotton. As a starting point, many users find the sweet spot for flavour somewhere in the middle of the range printed on the pod rather than at the top end. Higher wattage produces more vapour, a warmer draw and faster liquid consumption, but past a certain point flavour gets flat and the liquid can taste burnt, especially with sweet recipes. Move up in small steps of two to three watts at a time and stop when the flavour stops improving, not when you hit the limit.

On the 0.4Ω dual-mesh coil, the vape is closer to restricted lung. The draw is firmer, vapour is smaller, and wattage sits lower, typically in the 20W to 40W region depending on what the coil and the pod print. This suits people who find an open DTL pull too much, or who want the throat feel of a firm draw with more vapour than a basic MTL pod gives them. Higher-nicotine salt liquids tend to work better here than on the open coil, because the lower power and smaller puffs keep the nicotine hit manageable.

Ramp-up on mesh coils is quick. Mesh has a large surface area, so it heats evenly and the first puff after a pause rarely tastes dry as long as the pod has had time to saturate. Vapour production scales with wattage in the way you would expect. For a ballpark on liquid use, a 2ml pod typically gives somewhere between 150 and 350 puffs, depending on puff length and power. At low wattage on the 0.4Ω coil you will be towards the upper end of that range, and at 60W-plus on the 0.15Ω coil you will be towards the lower end. These are estimates rather than lab figures, because puff duration varies so much between users.

The airflow ring lets you open or close the draw. For MTL or RDTL, close it down. For DTL, open it up. Pairing the airflow setting with the right coil is the single biggest factor in whether the device feels comfortable, so spend ten minutes experimenting before you decide the kit is too harsh or too loose.

  • Use the 0.15Ω coil with the airflow open for a DTL experience
  • Use the 0.4Ω coil with the airflow partly closed for a restricted draw
  • Match your liquid to the coil: higher VG for the open coil, 50/50 or salts for the tighter one

Design, build quality and the touchscreen

The Nord 6 is a larger device than the pen-style pods many people carry. At roughly 145g with the pod installed and filled, it has real weight in the hand, and it is better suited to a jacket pocket or bag than a tight jeans pocket. The size is a direct consequence of the 3800mAh cell inside it. If you want something you can forget about in your pocket, a slimmer 1000mAh device will serve you better, and we say as much in the comparison section further down.

The body uses a rounded, rectangular shape that sits comfortably in the palm, with the 1.65-inch screen on the front face. Smok finishes the kit in a range of colours, with eight variants in the family. The coating is a standard durable device finish, and like any painted or coated vape it will pick up wear marks on the edges after a few weeks of pocket life. A silicone sleeve or case, if one is available for your colour, is a cheap way to preserve the finish.

The touchscreen is the headline change from older Nord devices. In practice it shows wattage, battery level, resistance, puff or session information and the current mode, and you adjust settings by tapping or swiping rather than clicking through a menu with a single button. The upside is speed: changing wattage takes a couple of seconds once you have learned the layout. The downside is that a touchscreen in a pocket can register accidental touches. Use the lock function in the menu, which the manual describes, if you carry the device loose alongside keys.

The pod clicks onto the body using magnets and a contact seat, which is how Smok has built the Nord range for years. Seat the pod firmly until it clicks and make sure the contacts line up; a loose pod is the cause of a surprising number of no-fire errors. The fill port is covered by a silicone bung. Refilling is a matter of lifting the bung, filling to just below the maximum line, and pushing the bung back in fully. Overfilling is the most common cause of leaking, and it is covered in the troubleshooting section.

In terms of fit and finish, the Nord 6 follows the pattern of earlier Smok kits. The mouthpiece is shaped to be comfortable for long sessions, and the fire button is positioned where your thumb or forefinger naturally rests. As with most Smok pods, the pods themselves are plastic and are the part most likely to show wear over time, which is partly why we recommend treating them as consumables and replacing them when they start to crack or seep.

Battery life and charging

The 3800mAh integrated battery is the reason this kit exists. For reference, a 3800mAh cell at a nominal 3.7V stores roughly 14Wh of energy. How long that lasts depends almost entirely on the wattage you choose and the length of your puffs. As an estimate, assuming a three-second puff and typical conversion losses in the chipset, you can expect something in this region on a full charge:

  • Around 25W to 30W (0.4Ω coil, restricted draw): roughly 450 to 550 puffs
  • Around 60W (0.15Ω coil, open DTL): roughly 230 to 250 puffs
  • At 80W: roughly 170 to 190 puffs

Those are calculated estimates, not manufacturer figures, and real-world results will vary. They are still useful, because they show an important practical point. A 2ml pod holds fewer puffs than the battery can deliver at low and medium power, so on most days you will refill the pod more than once per charge. In effect, the battery is no longer the limiting factor in your day, which is the main benefit over smaller pod devices that need charging at lunchtime.

Charging is by USB-C. Retailer listings quote roughly 90 minutes for a full charge, and allowing up to two hours for a drained device is sensible. Listings disagree on the maximum charging current, so rather than hunting for the fastest charger, use a reputable plug or a computer USB port with a decent cable. The device will not gain much from an unusually high-power adapter, and cheap unbranded chargers are a poor place to save money when a lithium cell is involved.

Battery care is straightforward and applies to every lithium-ion vape:

  • Do not leave the device charging unattended on soft furnishings such as a bed or sofa
  • Do not charge it in direct sunlight or in a hot car
  • Do not use it if the body is visibly swollen, cracked or unusually hot
  • Avoid draining it to zero every day; topping up between uses is fine for modern cells
  • Keep it away from loose coins and keys, which can short the charging contacts

Because the battery is integrated, you cannot swap it. Like all lithium cells, it loses some capacity after hundreds of charge cycles, though with a cell this size the loss is usually gradual enough that you will still have a full day of vaping from a charge a year or more in. When the device finally reaches the end of its life, do not put it in the household bin. Take it to a recycling point that accepts small electrical items and batteries, covered in the last section.

Pods, coils and mesh technology

The Nord 6 uses RPM 4 pods, part of the RPM family of coils that Smok has developed since the RPM40 kit appeared. RPM coils are built as removable heads that sit inside the pod, so you can replace the coil without changing the pod body in some cases, though many users find it simpler to swap the whole pod and avoid cleaning. The heads use a mesh heating element wrapped in organic cotton, which is the same basic idea that has become standard across UK pod and sub-ohm kits.

Retailer listings describe two main options for this kit:

  • 0.15Ω mesh coil: built for DTL vaping with open airflow, high wattage and bigger vapour. It suits low-nicotine liquids, shortfills with a small nic shot, and higher-VG recipes
  • 0.4Ω dual-mesh coil: a tighter, firmer draw at lower wattage. Better for 50/50 liquids and nicotine salts, and a natural fit for anyone stepping up from a smaller pod device

Check the contents list on the product page for exactly which pod arrives pre-fitted, since the kit contents can differ by batch. What matters most is knowing which coil you are using, because the right wattage depends on it. Each pod prints a recommended wattage range on its side or base. Treat that range as your boundary. Running a coil below its range gives weak, muted flavour, and running it above gives hot, harsh vapour and shortens its life.

Why mesh? A traditional round-wire coil heats from a thin strip of wire, so the hot spots are concentrated and flavour comes with a slight delay. Mesh spreads heat across a wide, flat surface, which gives quicker, more even vaporisation, more consistent flavour from the first puff to the last, and better tolerance for thicker liquids. The trade-off is that mesh is more sensitive to over-sweet liquids and to dry pulls, because a large surface area burns evenly and quickly when it runs short of liquid.

Priming and coil life. After fitting a new pod, fill it, then wait at least five to ten minutes before the first puff. The cotton needs time to soak through. Skipping this step is the usual cause of a burnt first coil. Under normal use, expect a mesh coil to last between one and three weeks. It will be towards the shorter end if you vape at high wattage, use sweet or dessert liquids with a lot of sweetener, or chain-vape. When flavour dulls, the vapour thins or you begin to taste a faint burnt note, change the coil rather than trying to nurse it along.

To get the most from each coil, avoid firing the device with an empty pod, avoid using high-wattage settings with low-VG liquids on the 0.15Ω coil, and keep the pod above a quarter full. When swapping to a different liquid with a very different flavour, consider fitting a fresh coil so that old flavour does not ghost into the new one.

E-liquid and flavour choices for the Nord 6

The kit does not come with e-liquid, so flavour is entirely your choice. That is one of the real advantages of a refillable system: you are not locked into whatever a disposable manufacturer decided to bottle. It also means choosing liquid carefully, because the right pairing between liquid, coil and wattage matters as much as the hardware itself.

Here are several flavour styles that suit this device, and the setup we would suggest for each:

  • Fruit and ice, such as blue raspberry ice or watermelon ice: works well on either coil. Use the 0.15Ω coil at moderate wattage for a cool, dense vape, or the 0.4Ω coil with a nicotine salt if you want a firmer draw
  • Menthol and mint: clean and simple, and mesh coils handle them well. Menthol tends to be harsh at high wattage, so stay in the lower half of the coil's range
  • Tobacco: often chosen by people moving off cigarettes. The 0.4Ω coil at moderate wattage with a 50/50 or salt liquid gives a more cigarette-like throat feel
  • Dessert and custard blends, such as vanilla custard or strawberry cheesecake: rich flavours that can gunk up a coil quickly. Run them a little cooler and expect shorter coil life
  • Cola and soft-drink flavours: carbonated-style liquids come across well on mesh, which carries sharp top notes cleanly
  • Mango and tropical fruit blends: sweet, juicy and well suited to the open coil at medium wattage
  • Sour apple or sour candy: sharp flavours that benefit from the quick, even heat of mesh

Regarding the eight variants in the Nord 6 family, these are colour variants of the hardware rather than flavours, since the kit itself ships empty. If you are looking for ready-made flavoured options, look at our nicotine salt and shortfill ranges, which are sorted by flavour style and nicotine strength.

VG/PG ratio. The ratio on the bottle matters. For the 0.15Ω coil, a higher-VG liquid, around 70VG/30PG, produces thicker vapour and works well in an open draw. For the 0.4Ω coil, a 50/50 or salt-based liquid usually flows more reliably through the smaller wicking holes and delivers a firmer throat hit. Using a very thick, high-VG liquid on the tighter coil can lead to dry hits and spitting because the cotton cannot keep up.

Sweeteners. Many fruit and dessert liquids contain sucralose, and heavy use of it darkens and clogs coils. If your coils die within a week and you vape sweet blends, that is likely why. Mixing in an occasional unsweetened or tobacco-style liquid can slightly extend coil life.

Bottle sizes in the UK. Nicotine-containing e-liquid is sold in bottles of up to 10ml in the UK. Larger bottles, such as 50ml or 100ml shortfills, are sold nicotine-free with space left for you to add nicotine shots if you want them. Both approaches are common, and both work in the Nord 6.

Nicotine strength guidance and UK rules

In the UK, e-liquid is capped at 20mg/ml (2%) nicotine strength, and nicotine e-liquid bottles are limited to 10ml. Pods and tanks are limited to 2ml. These rules apply to all refillable e-liquid sold in the UK, and the same 20mg/ml cap applied to single-use disposables before they were banned in June 2025. So the nicotine levels available through a Nord 6 are exactly the same as you could get from a disposable, with the difference that you control the strength, flavour and cost.

Choosing the right strength comes down to two questions. What are you coming from, and which coil are you using? As a rough guide only:

  • Coming from heavy smoking (roughly a pack a day): nicotine salts at 18mg/ml to 20mg/ml with the 0.4Ω coil at low-to-moderate wattage. Salts deliver nicotine smoothly even at higher strengths, and the restricted draw feels closer to a cigarette
  • Coming from moderate smoking or switching from a disposable: nicotine salts at 10mg/ml to 12mg/ml on the 0.4Ω coil
  • Light smoker or occasional vaper: nicotine salts at 5mg/ml to 6mg/ml, or low-strength freebase
  • DTL use on the 0.15Ω coil: freebase liquid at 3mg/ml to 6mg/ml, or a shortfill with a nic shot, because large clouds deliver a lot more nicotine per puff than small ones

The last point is where many people go wrong. A direct-to-lung vape at 60W delivers several times more liquid per puff than a restricted draw at 25W. If you pour 20mg/ml salt liquid into the 0.15Ω coil and pull deeply, the nicotine hit will be uncomfortable, with throat burn, dizziness and nausea as the typical signs of too much. Match high strengths to tight, low-power vaping and low strengths to open, high-power vaping.

Salts versus freebase. Nicotine salts are smoother at higher strengths and absorb faster, which is why they are favoured by people moving off cigarettes. Freebase is the traditional form and gets harsh above around 6mg/ml. Both work in the Nord 6, but salts are the more natural fit for the 0.4Ω coil and freebase for the 0.15Ω coil.

Stepping down. If your aim is to reduce your nicotine intake, do it gradually. Drop one strength level, stay there for a few weeks, and only then consider dropping again. Cutting too quickly usually leads to vaping more often, which defeats the purpose. If you are trying to quit nicotine entirely, speak to your pharmacist or a local stop-smoking service, who can offer support that is tailored to you.

Finally, a reminder that nicotine is addictive and this product is for adults. Keep devices and liquid out of the reach of children and pets.

Who the SMOK Nord 6 is for, and who should skip it

No device suits everyone, and the Nord 6 is a good illustration of the trade-offs between power and portability. Here is how we would sort the likely buyers.

It is a good fit if you:

  • Are an adult smoker or vaper who wants a device with enough battery to last a full day without topping up
  • Want to experiment with different wattages, coils and airflow settings without buying a second device
  • Currently use a disposable or a small pod and want something refillable that costs less per day and creates less waste
  • Prefer a firm, restricted draw but want the option to open things up later
  • Like a touchscreen and want to see wattage, battery and resistance at a glance
  • Are comfortable carrying a device that is bigger and heavier than a typical pod

You may want to skip it if you:

  • Want the smallest, lightest device possible. The 3800mAh battery means a bulkier body, and slim pod systems are easier to pocket
  • Dislike any tinkering. If you want to fill it and forget it with no settings to think about, a basic fixed-power pod will be simpler
  • Are a very light vaper. If you take only a few puffs a day, the large battery is wasted, and a small, cheaper device would do
  • Have never smoked or vaped. Nicotine is addictive, and this product is not intended for people who do not currently use nicotine
  • Strongly prefer closed, pre-filled pods. The Nord 6 is an open system, which means you handle liquid yourself
  • Want a device with a removable, swappable battery. The cell is integrated

First-time refillable users are a middle case. The Nord 6 is not difficult to use, and the touchscreen makes the settings clear. But there are more variables than on a basic pod, so expect a short learning curve while you find the wattage and nicotine strength that suit you. The setup and troubleshooting sections below are written with that in mind.

For anyone moving from cigarettes, the 0.4Ω coil with a nicotine salt liquid is the usual starting point. It is the combination that most closely mimics the draw and throat feel of a cigarette, and it is easier to control than a high-powered DTL setup.

How to set up and use your SMOK Nord 6

Setting up the Nord 6 takes about ten minutes, most of which is waiting for the cotton to soak. Follow these steps, and refer to the leaflet in the box for the exact button sequences on your unit, which Smok can change between batches.

1. Charge first. Charge the device for a short time before first use if the battery is low. A partial charge is enough to start, but a full first charge is a good habit.

2. Prepare the pod. Remove the plastic wrap from the pod and mouthpiece. Lift the silicone bung on the fill port and, holding the pod upright, fill with e-liquid until it is just below the maximum line. Do not fill to the brim, because the air space is needed to prevent leaks. Push the bung back in firmly so that it seats flush.

3. Let it soak. Wait five to ten minutes. This is the step that protects your coil. Gently tilt the pod once or twice to help the liquid reach the wicking holes.

4. Fit the pod. Click the pod into the device until it seats. If the contacts are aligned, the screen will show the coil resistance.

5. Power on. Most Smok devices use five rapid presses of the fire button to switch on and off, but check the leaflet for yours. The touchscreen will then wake.

6. Choose your settings. Select the wattage within the range printed on your pod. If you are unsure, start at the low end of that range and work upwards in small steps. Adjust the airflow ring to match the coil type: more open for the 0.15Ω, more closed for the 0.4Ω.

7. Take a few priming puffs. Take two or three short, gentle puffs at a low wattage before settling into normal use. This pulls liquid into the coil and finishes saturating the cotton.

8. Vape. For DTL, inhale slowly and steadily for about three to five seconds. For MTL or restricted draws, take a short pull into the mouth first, then inhale. Avoid very long puffs, which overheat the coil.

Everyday habits that help:

  • Top up the pod before it runs fully dry
  • Wipe the mouthpiece and pod contacts with a dry cloth now and then
  • Use the lock feature when carrying the device in a bag or pocket
  • Store the device upright where possible, and out of high temperatures
  • Change the pod or coil when flavour fades, not when it fails completely

When changing liquids, it helps to empty the pod, rinse it with lukewarm water, dry it completely and refill, especially if you are moving between very different flavours. Do not rinse the coil head itself, because that can damage the cotton. If the flavour is still muddy after a pod rinse, the coil is likely due for replacement.

Troubleshooting common Nord 6 problems

Most problems with pod kits come down to a short list of causes, and almost all are fixable at home. Here are the common ones and what to try.

The device will not fire, or the screen shows a coil or atomiser error. Take the pod out and check the contacts for liquid or residue. Wipe them with a dry cloth and refit the pod firmly. If the problem continues, try a different pod, because that tells you whether the fault is in the pod or the device. Make sure the pod is the correct type for the Nord 6.

Burnt or harsh taste. This is usually either an under-primed coil, wattage that is too high, or a coil near the end of its life. Check that the pod is more than a quarter full, lower the wattage, and give the cotton another few minutes to soak. If it still tastes burnt, change the coil.

Dry hits. The coil is not getting enough liquid. Causes include a liquid that is too thick for the coil, wattage too high, long chain puffs, or a nearly empty pod. Open the airflow slightly, lower the power, fill the pod and rest between puffs.

Leaking from the pod or the device. Overfilling is the leading cause, followed by a bung that is not fully seated and a cracked pod. Fill only to the line, press the bung in fully, and inspect the pod for hairline cracks. Wipe the device and its contacts dry before use, because liquid in the contact area can cause misfires. Temperature changes can also push liquid through the air channel, so avoid leaving the device in a hot car or on a radiator.

Gurgling or spitting. Condensation has gathered in the airflow channel or the liquid is too thick. Blow gently back through the mouthpiece, or tap it dry on a tissue, and make sure you are using a VG/PG blend that suits the coil.

Weak vapour or flat flavour. The most likely explanation is a worn coil. Another is wattage set below the coil's recommended range. Try moving up a few watts and see if flavour recovers. If not, replace the pod.

Battery drains faster than expected. High wattage is the main driver. Vaping at 80W will use the cell more than twice as fast as at 30W. If the battery seems unusually weak after several months, it may have lost some capacity through ageing.

Device does not charge. Try a different cable and a different charger first, since cables fail more often than devices. Check the USB-C port for lint or debris, and clear it gently with a wooden toothpick, never a metal pin. Let the device cool down if it feels warm.

Screen does not respond or responds to accidental touches. Check that the lock feature is not enabled, wipe the screen with a dry microfibre cloth, and make sure your fingers are dry.

If you have tried these steps and the device still misbehaves, stop using it and contact us with your order number. Do not continue using any device that is swollen, hot, smoking or has a damaged casing.

Value for money and how the Nord 6 compares

Judging value on a refillable kit means looking beyond the sticker price. The purchase price of the hardware is a one-off. After that, your ongoing costs are e-liquid and replacement pods or coils. A rough way to compare is to work out your weekly spend. For illustration only, if a pack of replacement pods costs £10 and each lasts two weeks, the coil cost is around £2.50 a week per pod. Add the e-liquid you use and compare the total with what you currently spend on disposables or cigarettes. Check the current price on this page before you decide.

The Nord 6 offers decent value for the type of user it is aimed at. The large battery, adjustable output and touchscreen give it more hardware than a basic pod, and that matters if you use these features. If you will never change the wattage from a single setting, you are paying for capability you will not use.

How it compares with alternatives, fairly:

  • Slim pod systems in the 1000mAh class, such as the Vaporesso XROS series, Uwell Caliburn series and OXVA Xlim range: smaller, lighter, simpler and often cheaper, with fixed or limited power. They are the better pick if you want something compact and basic. The Nord 6 wins on battery size, power range and flexibility, but loses on portability
  • The earlier SMOK Nord 4 and Nord 5: still popular, with a similar format and pods that are familiar to many vapers. The Nord 6 brings a bigger battery and a touchscreen, while the older models may be cheaper and have a wider supply of pods and accessories. If you already own a Nord 5 and are happy with it, an upgrade is a matter of preference rather than necessity
  • Larger pod-mod devices from brands such as Voopoo and Geekvape: several offer similar power and bigger screens, and some use a replaceable battery, which the Nord 6 does not. If you want to swap cells, look at those instead
  • Disposables: now banned for single-use sales in the UK, so refillable kits are the practical alternative. Over a few months, a refillable system generally costs less and produces less waste

The honest summary is that the Nord 6 is a solid mid-sized device for people who want control and battery life. It is not the smallest, the simplest or the cheapest option, and it is not trying to be.

Responsible disposal. Because the Nord 6 contains a lithium-ion battery, never put it in household waste or general recycling bins. Under UK waste electrical rules, shops that sell vaping equipment are expected to take back used devices, and household waste recycling centres also accept small electrical items. Look for drop-off bins labelled for small electricals or batteries, and use them for old devices, spent pods and any damaged equipment. If a battery is damaged or swollen, store it somewhere cool and dry, away from anything flammable, and take it to a recycling point as soon as you can. Used pods can usually go to the same collection points. Empty e-liquid bottles can generally go in plastic recycling, but check your local council guidance, since rules vary by area.

Frequently asked questions

What nicotine strength should I use in the SMOK Nord 6?

It depends on the coil. For the 0.4 ohm dual-mesh coil and a restricted draw, nicotine salts at 10mg/ml to 20mg/ml are typical depending on how much you smoked before. For the open 0.15 ohm coil at higher wattage, freebase at 3mg/ml to 6mg/ml, or a shortfill with a nic shot, is more comfortable. The UK maximum is 20mg/ml.

How long does the Nord 6 take to charge, and how long does a charge last?

Retailer listings quote about 90 minutes for a full USB-C charge, so allow up to two hours from empty. Battery life depends on wattage: as an estimate, a 3800mAh cell gives roughly 450 to 550 puffs at 25W to 30W, and around 170 to 190 puffs at 80W. A full charge typically covers a full day for most users.

The kit comes in eight variants. Are they different flavours?

No. The eight variants are colour options for the same hardware, and the kit ships without e-liquid. The performance, battery and pods are identical across the range. You choose your own e-liquid flavour separately, so pick the colour you like best from what is in stock.

How long does a pod or coil last?

A mesh coil typically lasts between one and three weeks of normal use. High wattage, sweet dessert liquids and chain vaping shorten that, while moderate power and less sugary liquids extend it. Replace the coil when flavour fades or you notice a burnt taste. A 2ml pod usually gives around 150 to 350 puffs per fill, depending on power.

Is the SMOK Nord 6 good value for money compared with cheaper pods?

It depends on what you will use. If you want a large battery, adjustable power and the option to switch between restricted and open draws, it offers a lot of capability for the price. If you only want a simple, small, fixed-power device, a cheaper slim pod will meet your needs and cost less. Over several months, any refillable kit is generally cheaper than buying disposables.

Who should and should not buy this kit?

It suits adult smokers and vapers who want a long-lasting battery, adjustable settings and a refillable system. You should skip it if you want the smallest possible device, dislike adjusting settings, are a very light user, or have never used nicotine. Nicotine is addictive, and the kit must not be sold to anyone under 18.

Can I use Nord 4 or Nord 5 pods in the Nord 6?

Do not assume so. The Nord 6 uses its own RPM 4 pod series, and pod bodies differ between Nord generations. Check that any replacement pod is listed as compatible with the Nord 6 before ordering. Using the wrong pod can cause poor contact, leaks or error messages on the screen.

Do you deliver the SMOK Nord 6 across the UK, and is there an age check?

Yes, we deliver to UK addresses, and delivery options and costs are shown at checkout. You must be 18 or over to buy, and we may carry out age verification on your order. We do not ship this product outside the UK.

What is the warranty and returns policy?

If your device arrives faulty or damaged, contact us with your order number and a description or photo of the problem, and we will help you resolve it under your statutory rights. For current warranty length and return conditions, check the policy pages on this site, as terms can change. Keep the packaging and proof of purchase, and note that used pods, coils and e-liquid generally cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.

Can I take the Nord 6 on a plane in the UK?

Airlines generally require vapes and their batteries to go in hand luggage, not in checked baggage, and they cannot be used or charged on board. Rules vary between airlines and countries, so check with your carrier before travelling. Empty the pod first to avoid leaks caused by cabin pressure changes.
