Pod Salt Core 10ml 20mg Ice Menthol overview

Pod Salt Core 10ml 20mg Ice Menthol is a nicotine salt e-liquid for vapers who want a clean, cold menthol flavour without fruit, sweetener or dessert notes layered on top. It comes in a 10ml bottle at 20mg/ml nicotine (2%), which is the highest strength allowed for e-liquid in the UK, and it is made for pod kits, refillable pen-style devices and other low-wattage mouth-to-lung hardware.

Ice Menthol sits at the simple end of the flavour range. Instead of a blend of berries or candy with a little cooling on the exhale, the profile is built around menthol itself: a sharp, cool inhale, a steady chill through the middle of the draw and a clean finish that does not leave a sugary film on your tongue. If you have ever wanted the sensation of a strong menthol mint in vapour form, this is the type of profile you are looking at.

The Core name suggests a back-to-basics approach, and that is how this bottle behaves in practice. There is no long list of competing flavour notes to untangle, which makes it an easy bottle to recommend to three groups of people. First, smokers moving across from menthol cigarettes who want something familiar. Second, existing vapers who like to rotate a palate-cleansing menthol between sweeter flavours. Third, anyone leaving single-use disposables behind for a refillable setup that costs less per day and produces far less waste.

The rest of this page covers the specification, flavour, nicotine strength, device compatibility, filling, charging, troubleshooting and value, with a fair comparison against other 10ml menthol nic salts available in the UK. It is written for adult smokers and vapers only. This product contains nicotine, which is addictive, and it is not suitable for anyone under 18, for non-smokers, or for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Specifications at a glance

Before you order, it helps to check the core numbers against the device you already own. Here are the headline details for this bottle.

  • Product: Pod Salt Core Ice Menthol e-liquid
  • Bottle size: 10ml, the maximum bottle size permitted for refill liquid in the UK
  • Nicotine strength: 20mg/ml (2%), the UK legal ceiling for e-liquid
  • Nicotine type: nicotine salt rather than freebase nicotine
  • Flavour: Ice Menthol, a cool menthol with no fruit or dessert layers
  • Suited to: pod kits and low-wattage devices, roughly 8W to 25W, with a mouth-to-lung draw
  • Coil resistance range: roughly 0.6 to 1.2 ohm, including mesh pod cartridges
  • Age restriction: 18+ only, and ID may be requested on delivery

Each of those details matters for a reason. The 10ml size is not a marketing choice; it is the legal cap for nicotine-containing refill liquid sold in the UK, which is why you see almost every nic salt brand sell in exactly this size. The 20mg/ml strength is likewise the legal ceiling, so there is no stronger bottle you can buy from a UK retailer.

The device range is where most buyers go wrong. Nicotine salts are designed to be vaped at low power. Putting a 20mg salt into a high-wattage sub-ohm tank is a common mistake that produces a harsh, overpowering hit and uses liquid very quickly. Match this bottle with a pod system or a small refillable device and it will behave as intended.

Always read the label on the bottle you receive for the exact ingredients, VG/PG ratio and batch information. Manufacturers can adjust formulations between batches, and the label on your bottle is the authoritative source.

Flavour profile: how Ice Menthol tastes

The first thing you notice on the inhale is cold. Ice Menthol leads with a bright, minty chill that arrives at the front of the mouth and travels to the back of the throat. It is not a gentle spearmint or a sweet peppermint candy; it is closer to the sharper, medicinal side of menthol that people associate with strong breath mints or menthol cigarettes.

On a mid-length draw, the cooling stays level rather than spiking and fading. That steadiness is useful, because it means the flavour holds across the whole puff instead of delivering one blast of cold followed by a flat finish. On the exhale you get a clean, cool breath with a faint residual mint that lingers for a few seconds and then clears.

What is deliberately absent matters as much as what is present. There is no strong sweetener, so the liquid does not coat your mouth or leave a sticky sensation after a long session. There is no fruit note competing with the menthol, so the flavour does not drift or change as the bottle goes down. For many vapers this predictability is the main attraction.

A few practical notes on flavour:

  • Fresh coils taste best. A new mesh coil gives the cleanest menthol. As the coil ages, the cooling agent can leave residue and the flavour may flatten, so swap coils on schedule.
  • Lower power keeps the mint crisp. Pushing the wattage too high warms the vapour and mutes the cooling effect.
  • Temperature of the vapour matters. Cooler, slower draws feel icier. Fast, hot draws feel less menthol-forward and rougher.
  • Menthol can dull your palate. If you vape only strong menthol for several days, other flavours may seem weaker for a while. Switching occasionally helps reset your taste.

If you prefer a softer, creamier cool note, a spearmint or fruit-and-ice blend will suit you better. If you want a direct, cold, no-nonsense menthol, Ice Menthol is the flavour that matches that description.

Nicotine strength: is 20mg right for you?

This bottle contains nicotine salt at 20mg/ml. Nicotine salts are formulated with an acid, commonly benzoic acid, which lowers the pH of the liquid. The result is that a high nicotine strength feels much smoother in the throat than the same strength of freebase nicotine would, and the nicotine is absorbed quickly, which many people find more satisfying at low power.

That combination is the reason 20mg salts are popular with people stepping away from cigarettes. A rough guide often used in the UK vape trade looks like this:

  • 20mg/ml: typically suits smokers who were having around ten or more cigarettes a day, or anyone who finds lower strengths leave them reaching for a cigarette.
  • 10mg/ml: typically suits lighter smokers, or ex-smokers who are gradually reducing their intake.
  • 5mg/ml or lower: typically suits very light users or people at the end of a step-down plan.

Treat that list as a starting point, not a rule. Everybody absorbs nicotine differently, and your puff length, device power and habits all change how strong a given bottle feels. If you find 20mg too sharp, you have a few options before you give up on the flavour: take shorter puffs, lower the device power slightly, or look for a lower-strength version of the same flavour if the range offers one.

It is worth being straightforward about the other side too. If you have never smoked, 20mg is far too strong for you, and you should not start vaping. If you are an occasional social smoker, 20mg will probably feel overwhelming. The strength is meant for adults who currently use nicotine heavily and want a replacement, not for experimentation.

Signs the strength is too high include dizziness, nausea, a racing heart, headaches or a pounding feeling in the chest. If you notice any of these, stop vaping, get some fresh air, drink water and choose a lower strength next time. If symptoms are severe or persist, seek medical advice.

Performance and puff delivery

Because this is a bottle of liquid rather than a sealed device, performance depends on what you put it in. In a typical refillable pod kit with a mesh coil around 0.8 ohm, running at roughly 12W to 18W, you can expect a consistent, cool vapour that suits tight mouth-to-lung draws, with a throat hit that is firm without being scratchy.

It helps to think about delivery in terms of liquid rather than advertised puff counts. A 10ml bottle holds five times the liquid of a 2ml single-use vape, and since the UK ban on single-use disposables took effect on 1 June 2025, a refillable setup is the straightforward route for most adult vapers. Real-world puff counts vary a lot with puff length and device, but a 10ml bottle in a low-wattage pod kit will commonly deliver somewhere in the region of 800 to 2,000 puffs. Treat that as an estimate, not a promise.

Several factors push that number up or down:

  • Puff length: three-second draws use roughly twice the liquid of one-and-a-half-second draws.
  • Device power: higher wattage burns through liquid faster and creates warmer vapour.
  • Coil condition: a worn coil can waste liquid or produce a burnt flavour.
  • Airflow setting: a tighter draw generally uses less liquid per puff than an open one.

Nic salt performance has a particular character. Because the nicotine is absorbed quickly and satisfies at low power, many vapers find they take fewer puffs than they did with freebase liquids, even though they are using a higher nicotine strength. If you notice you are chain vaping or taking very long draws on 20mg, that is a sign the strength may be higher than you need.

Vapour production on this kind of setup is moderate by design. You are not going to produce the dense clouds that a high-power sub-ohm tank gives, and that is the trade-off for a smoother throat hit and lower consumption. If large clouds are what you want, nic salts are the wrong category.

Coils, mesh technology and device compatibility

The coil is the part that turns this liquid into flavour, and getting the match right makes the difference between a crisp menthol and a disappointing one. Nic salt liquids like this are designed for higher-resistance coils in the 0.6 to 1.2 ohm range, which run at low power and keep the vapour at a comfortable temperature.

Many modern pod kits use mesh coils instead of traditional wire-wound coils. A mesh coil is a flat or cylindrical sheet of fine metal mesh with a much larger heating surface than a single wire. In practice this gives three benefits for a menthol liquid:

  • Even heating: the whole surface warms evenly, which helps keep the cooling effect consistent rather than hot in one spot.
  • Better flavour definition: a larger surface vaporises more liquid per second at lower temperature, so the menthol tastes cleaner.
  • Reliable wicking: mesh coils generally keep up with thinner nic salt liquids without drying out, as long as you keep the pod filled.

Typical compatible device types include refillable pod systems from popular ranges such as the Vaporesso XROS family, Oxva Xlim, Uwell Caliburn and SMOK Novo series, as well as small refillable pen-style kits. Always check that your specific kit supports refillable pods or cartridges, and that its coil resistance is suitable. Closed pods that are sold pre-filled and not designed to be refilled should not be opened and refilled.

What should you avoid? Sub-ohm tanks with coils below 0.5 ohm designed for 40W and above are the wrong tool for a 20mg salt. They will push too much vapour and nicotine into each draw, and the liquid will burn through quickly. Cooling agents in menthol liquids can also leave more residue on the coil than plain flavours, so expect to change coils roughly every one to two weeks of regular use, or sooner if the taste goes flat or burnt.

Bottle design, packaging and build quality

A 10ml nic salt bottle has to meet several UK rules, and those rules shape the design you see. The bottle is a plastic dropper-style container with a narrow, tapered nozzle that fits into most pod fill ports. The cap is child-resistant and the packaging is tamper-evident, so you should see an intact seal or ring when the bottle arrives. If the seal is broken, do not use it and contact the retailer.

The narrow nozzle is the feature that matters most day to day. Many pod kits have a fill port that is only a few millimetres wide, and a wide-mouth bottle spills. A fine nozzle lets you place the liquid precisely and fill slowly, which cuts down on messy fingers and leaking pods. The plastic is soft enough that you can squeeze gently to control the flow, but you should squeeze slowly so you do not overfill.

Some practical points about the packaging and label:

  • Health warning: the label carries the nicotine addiction warning required in the UK.
  • Ingredients and strength: the label lists nicotine strength and ingredients, so you can check for allergens or sensitivities.
  • Batch code: keep the batch number if you ever need to report a problem.
  • Outer carton or wrap: intended to protect the bottle in transit and carry safety information.

Build quality in this category comes down to three things: whether the cap seals cleanly, whether the nozzle is cut cleanly without burrs, and whether the plastic is firm enough not to crumple in the post. Check your bottle when it arrives. Store it upright, tightly capped, away from heat and direct sunlight, and out of reach of children and pets. Nicotine liquid can be harmful if swallowed or if it gets on skin or in the eyes; if that happens, rinse thoroughly with water and seek medical advice.

Battery and charging: the device side

The bottle itself has no battery, but the device you pair with it does, and battery behaviour has a direct effect on how this liquid vapes. Most refillable pod kits carry batteries between roughly 400mAh and 1,000mAh, which is a sensible range for 8W to 25W devices. As a rough guide, a device in the 500mAh to 800mAh range will usually last a light to moderate vaper most of a day on a single charge, while a 1,000mAh device can take a heavier user through a full day.

Low battery has two effects on flavour that menthol vapers notice quickly. As the charge falls, the device may deliver less power to the coil, which makes the cooling feel weaker and the hit thinner. Charging before the battery is nearly flat keeps the draw consistent.

Safe charging habits are worth following every time:

  • Use the cable supplied with your device, or a good-quality USB-C cable from a known brand.
  • Use a standard USB port or a low-output plug. Avoid fast chargers that are far above what the device is designed for.
  • Do not charge overnight unattended or on soft surfaces such as a bed or sofa.
  • Unplug once charged. Most pod kits reach a full charge in somewhere between 30 minutes and 90 minutes.
  • Stop using a swollen, damaged or very hot battery.

When the battery in a device reaches the end of its life, do not put it in your household bin. Vapes and batteries contain materials that can cause fires in bin lorries and recycling centres. Take them to a battery recycling point at a supermarket or household waste recycling centre, or to a retailer offering a take-back scheme under UK waste electrical rules. Empty plastic bottles can usually go in household plastic recycling once rinsed and capped according to your local council guidance, though it is worth checking what your council accepts.

How to fill and use Pod Salt Core Ice Menthol

Filling a pod properly takes less than a minute, and doing it correctly prevents most of the problems people blame on the liquid. Follow these steps with your device switched off.

  • Remove the pod or open the fill port. Most kits have either a silicone bung or a sliding cover on the side or top of the pod.
  • Fill slowly. Place the nozzle into the port and squeeze gently, aiming the liquid down the side of the pod instead of straight onto the central air tube.
  • Stop below the max line. Leave a small air gap, and never overfill, which causes flooding and leaks.
  • Close the port firmly. A loose bung is a leading cause of gurgling and dripping.
  • Wait a few minutes. A new coil needs time to soak. Give it five to ten minutes before the first draw.

Priming matters especially with nic salts. Take a few short pulls with the device buttoned off or at low power if your device allows it, then begin normal use. A dry first puff on a fresh coil is the usual cause of an early burnt taste, and it can shorten coil life.

Once you are vaping, a few habits help keep the experience consistent:

  • Take slow, steady draws of two to three seconds, then pause for about thirty seconds between puffs on a fresh coil.
  • Top up the pod before it is empty, as running a coil dry will damage it.
  • Keep the pod upright when not in use, and clean the mouthpiece occasionally with a dry tissue.
  • Rinse your hands if liquid gets on them, and wipe any spills on the pod before reassembling.

If you are switching to this bottle from a different liquid, empty the old pod and rinse it with a little warm water, then dry it fully before refilling. Mixing leftover liquid can produce odd flavours. Do not mix this liquid with other nicotine products, and never add extra nicotine, flavour or additives to the bottle.

Who Pod Salt Core Ice Menthol is for

This bottle is aimed squarely at adult nicotine users who want a simple, strong menthol and have a device suited to low-power nic salts. A few profiles fit particularly well.

  • Smokers switching from menthol cigarettes. The sharp, cool profile is closer to a menthol cigarette than a sweet fruit-and-ice blend, and the 20mg salt strength is in the range that many heavier smokers find satisfying.
  • Disposable vapers moving to refillable. With single-use vapes banned in the UK, a 10ml bottle and a refillable pod kit is the economical alternative.
  • Existing vapers who rotate flavours. A plain menthol is a useful palate reset between sweeter bottles.
  • People who prefer minimal flavour. If you do not like sweet vapour, a straight menthol is easy to live with.

It is worth being just as clear about who should look elsewhere:

  • Under-18s. It is illegal to sell nicotine products to anyone under 18 in the UK, and we will not sell them.
  • Non-smokers. Vaping is not risk-free, and nicotine is addictive. If you do not already use nicotine, do not start.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women. Speak to a healthcare professional about proven quit support.
  • Cloud chasers. Sub-ohm, high-wattage vapers will find this salt strength and flavour unsuitable.
  • Light smokers. If you have only a few cigarettes a week, 20mg is likely to be too strong.
  • Anyone with heart conditions or other health concerns. Check with your GP or pharmacist before using nicotine products.

UK health bodies, including the NHS, note that vaping is substantially less harmful than smoking for adults who already smoke, while stressing that it is not risk-free. If your aim is to stop smoking, combine vaping with support from a local stop-smoking service, which improves your chances compared with going it alone.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most problems with nic salt liquids come down to the device, the fill or the coil rather than the liquid. Here is a quick guide to the issues vapers report most often.

  • Burnt or acrid taste: usually a dry or worn coil. Check the liquid level, let the pod soak, take shorter puffs and replace the coil if the taste persists.
  • Weak or flat menthol: a tired coil, low battery, or vaper's tongue. Change the coil, charge the device, and try a different flavour for a day or two.
  • Throat hit too harsh: shorten the puffs, lower the wattage, open the airflow a little, or switch to a lower nicotine strength if available.
  • Leaking: overfilled pod, loose bung, cracked pod or changes in air pressure. Fill below the max line, close the port firmly and replace damaged pods.
  • Gurgling: condensation or flooding in the airway. Blow gently through the mouthpiece to clear it, and wipe away excess liquid.
  • Dry hits: liquid not reaching the coil. Check that the pod is not empty, that the fill port is closed, and that the coil is not worn.
  • Device not firing: low battery, loose pod connection or dirty contacts. Charge, reseat the pod and wipe the contacts with a dry cloth.

If your coil is failing quickly, consider the power setting first. Menthol cooling agents and high wattage combined can produce residue that dulls the coil. Running at the lower end of your device range usually extends coil life.

If you ever get a persistent problem across multiple coils, or find the liquid looks cloudy, smells strange, or has been exposed to heat, stop using it and contact us with your order number, batch code and a photo. We can check the batch and advise on the next step. For any health symptoms such as persistent coughing, chest tightness or breathing difficulties, stop vaping and seek medical advice.

Value for money and how it compares

Value in vaping is easiest to judge per millilitre and per day, not by the sticker price of a single item. A 10ml bottle contains the same volume of liquid as five 2ml single-use vapes, and when you refill a pod you are paying only for liquid and an occasional coil, not a new battery and plastic body every few days.

As a rough illustration, a typical moderate pod vaper uses between 1ml and 3ml of nic salt per day. At that rate, a single 10ml bottle will last somewhere between about three and ten days. Over a month, the cost of liquid plus coils usually works out noticeably lower than buying disposable-style products, though the exact saving depends on current prices and how much you vape. Check the current price shown on this page and compare it per ml against other bottles.

How does it compare with other 10ml 20mg menthol nic salts on the UK market? Brands such as Elfliq, Nasty Salt, IVG Salts, Hayati Salt and Dinner Lady all offer menthol or ice-based nic salts in the same bottle size and strength. A fair summary:

  • Flavour range: several competitors offer a much wider selection of fruit, candy and dessert flavours. Pod Salt Core Ice Menthol is more focused on a straight cool menthol.
  • Intensity: some rival menthol salts are sweeter or blend in fruit, while this one is cleaner and sharper. If you like sweet-and-ice, a competitor may suit you better.
  • Availability of strengths: many brands sell 5mg, 10mg and 20mg. Check what is offered in this range for your flavour.
  • Price: prices shift by retailer and promotion, so compare the cost per ml on the day you buy.

Where Pod Salt Core Ice Menthol makes sense is for buyers who know they want a direct menthol, already have a compatible pod device and prefer to buy a single reliable flavour in bulk. If you are still exploring flavours, try a couple of different bottles before committing to several of the same one.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Best value per ml in the category
  • Choose your own device and coil
  • Available in a wide strength ladder

Cons

  • Refilling can leak if you overfill
  • Coil priming has a small learning curve
  • You handle the bottle — less discreet than pods

Customer Buying Tips

  • Match the strength to how much you smoked: 20+/day → 10-20 mg nic salt; 10/day → 10 mg; under 5/day → 3-6 mg freebase.
  • Match the ratio to your device: pod kits take 50/50, sub-ohm tanks take 70/30 shortfill.
  • Don't overfill: leaving the airhole clear prevents gurgling and leaking.
  • Shake before use so the nicotine and flavour integrate evenly.

Frequently asked questions

Is 20mg the right nicotine strength for me?

20mg/ml nicotine salt generally suits adults who smoked around ten or more cigarettes a day, or who find lower strengths leave them craving. If you are a lighter smoker, a 10mg or lower strength is usually a better fit, and non-smokers should not use nicotine at all. If 20mg feels too sharp, try shorter puffs and lower device power before changing strength.

How do I charge my device safely when using this e-liquid?

The bottle has no battery, so charging relates to your pod kit. Use the cable supplied with the device, plug into a standard USB port, avoid charging overnight or on soft surfaces, and unplug when it is full. Most pod kits charge in roughly 30 to 90 minutes, and a damaged or swollen battery should be stopped and recycled at a proper drop-off point.

Which devices can I use with Pod Salt Core Ice Menthol?

It is designed for pod kits and small refillable devices with coils in roughly the 0.6 to 1.2 ohm range, running at low wattage, usually 8W to 25W. Popular families such as the Vaporesso XROS, Oxva Xlim, Uwell Caliburn and SMOK Novo are common choices, but always check your own kit supports refillable pods. Avoid high-power sub-ohm tanks, which are unsuitable for 20mg salts.

Are there other flavours or strengths in the Pod Salt Core range?

Pod Salt Core is sold in a number of flavours, and most nic salt ranges also come in lower strengths such as 10mg alongside 20mg. Availability changes, so check the Pod Salt Core listings on this site for the current flavour and strength options. If you want to try something different, a smaller order of a single bottle is a low-risk way to test it.

How long will a 10ml bottle last?

It depends on how much you vape, but a moderate pod user taking 1ml to 3ml a day will usually get roughly three to ten days from one bottle. In a low-wattage pod kit that is commonly in the region of 800 to 2,000 puffs, though this is an estimate. Longer puffs, higher power and worn coils all use liquid faster.

Is it good value compared with disposables?

A 10ml bottle holds the same volume as five 2ml single-use vapes, and with a refillable pod you only pay for liquid and an occasional replacement coil. For most regular vapers that works out cheaper per day than disposable-style products, and it also creates less waste. Compare the price per ml on the day you buy, as prices and offers change.

Who should not buy this product?

Do not buy it if you are under 18, if you do not already smoke or vape, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is also unsuitable for light smokers who may find 20mg too strong, and for anyone with heart conditions or other health concerns until they have checked with a GP or pharmacist. Nicotine is addictive and this product is for adult smokers only.

Can I swap to a different flavour once I open this bottle?

Yes, but empty the old pod, rinse it with warm water and dry it fully before refilling so the flavours do not mix. A coil that has absorbed menthol will keep some of that taste, so changing the coil when you switch to a very different flavour gives a cleaner result. Never mix different liquids or add flavouring or nicotine to this bottle.

Do you deliver to the UK and is age verification required?

Yes, we deliver to UK addresses, and you must be 18 or over to order. Age may be checked at checkout and on delivery, so have valid ID available. Check the delivery information page for current options, costs and cut-off times for next-day or standard service.

What if my bottle arrives damaged or I have a problem with it?

Contact us as soon as possible with your order number and clear photos of the bottle, label and batch code. Because e-liquid is a consumable and cannot be returned once opened, our returns process mainly covers damaged, faulty or incorrect items, and we will advise on a replacement or refund under our returns policy. Your statutory rights as a UK consumer are not affected.
