Pod Salt Core Mixed Berries 10ml 20mg: overview

Pod Salt Core Mixed Berries is a 10ml bottle of nicotine salt e-liquid at 20mg/ml (2%), made for refillable pod kits and other low-wattage mouth-to-lung devices. It belongs to the Pod Salt Core line, an everyday range of straightforward flavours aimed at vapers who want a consistent, recognisable taste rather than an elaborate multi-layered blend. Mixed Berries sits in the fruit group and, as the name suggests, it combines several berry notes into one rounded profile instead of focusing on a single fruit.

The key facts are quick to list.

  • Bottle size: 10ml, the maximum permitted for nicotine-containing e-liquid sold in the UK.
  • Nicotine strength: 20mg/ml nicotine salt, which is also the UK legal ceiling for e-liquid and for the nicotine in any disposable device.
  • Nicotine type: nicotine salt rather than freebase, so the throat hit is gentler at a given strength.
  • Base: a balanced VG/PG blend suited to pod kits. The label on your bottle lists the exact split for your batch, so check it before you buy a second bottle for a different device.
  • Designed for: refillable pod systems with coils roughly between 0.6 and 1.2 ohm, run at low to moderate power.
  • Not suited to: sub-ohm tanks run at high wattage. The nicotine level is simply too strong for that style of vaping.

This page goes through what a buyer is likely to want to know before ordering: how the flavour behaves, whether 20mg is the right strength, which devices work well, how long a bottle lasts, what can go wrong and how it compares with similar nic salt ranges. The aim is to give you enough detail to decide sensibly, including a clear steer on who should pick a different product instead.

One point worth stating early. Nicotine is addictive, and this product is intended for adult smokers and existing vapers who want an alternative to cigarettes. It is not for anyone under 18, non-smokers, or anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding. If that is not you, the sensible choice is not to buy it.

Flavour profile: what mixed berries actually tastes like

Mixed berry e-liquids vary a lot between brands, so it helps to describe what to expect rather than assume. In this style of blend, the usual building blocks are a sweet red berry note (think strawberry or raspberry), a slightly deeper and tarter dark berry note (blueberry, blackcurrant or blackberry style), and a light sweetness that ties them together. Pod Salt Core Mixed Berries follows that general pattern. Exact recipes are not published by the manufacturer, so treat the following as a description of the overall character rather than a list of ingredients.

On the inhale, the first impression is a juicy, rounded sweetness. The tart edge from the darker berry notes arrives a moment later and stops the profile from feeling flat or sugary. On the exhale, the flavour settles into a soft, lingering berry taste with a mild fruit-candy finish rather than a sharp or sour one. There is no menthol or cooling agent in the core profile, so the taste stays warm and fruity rather than icy.

  • Sweetness: moderate. It is noticeable but not syrupy, which matters in a pod kit where heavy sweeteners tend to gum up coils faster.
  • Tartness: light. Enough to add definition, not enough to make the flavour sour.
  • Cooling: none intended. If you want an iced version, look for a separate ice variant rather than expecting this bottle to cool on the exhale.
  • Intensity: medium. Clear and recognisable from the first puff, without being overpowering across a long session.
  • Aftertaste: mild and fruity. It fades reasonably quickly, which helps if you vape at intervals through the day.

A mixed berry flavour is a sensible choice for people moving away from tobacco who find plain tobacco or menthol flavours dull, and for existing vapers who want something familiar. It also tends to suit a wide range of palates because no single berry dominates. If you dislike very sweet vapes, this will probably sit comfortably in the middle. If you prefer a sharper, more sour fruit taste, you may find it slightly mellow.

One practical note on flavour: your own perception changes with temperature, power and coil condition. A fresh coil at a moderate setting shows the berry layers most clearly. As the coil ages, the profile flattens and the sweetness can start to taste slightly burnt, which is a signal to change the coil rather than a fault with the liquid.

Nicotine strength: is 20mg the right choice?

This listing is for the 20mg/ml strength, the highest available in the UK. Picking the correct strength is the single biggest factor in whether you enjoy the product, so it is worth getting right rather than defaulting to the strongest option.

Nicotine salt behaves differently from freebase nicotine. The formulation uses an acid to lower the pH, which makes the vapour feel smoother in the throat at higher strengths and delivers nicotine into the bloodstream somewhat faster. That is why salts are the standard choice for small pod devices and why 10mg and 20mg are the two common strengths, rather than the 3mg to 6mg range you see on freebase liquid for sub-ohm tanks.

  • 20mg/ml (2%): generally aimed at people who currently smoke around ten or more cigarettes a day, or who smoked heavily until recently. It gives a firm throat hit and a quicker nicotine delivery, which can help stop cravings that a weaker liquid does not touch.
  • 10mg/ml (1%): better for lighter smokers, for people who are further along in cutting down, and for anyone who finds 20mg too sharp. The same flavour is normally available at 10mg, so switching down costs you nothing in taste.

Some signs that 20mg is too strong for you: coughing after most puffs, a racing heart, light-headedness, nausea, or a feeling that you are taking far fewer puffs than you expected because each one is uncomfortable. If you notice any of these, stop and move to 10mg. Some signs it may be too weak: you keep reaching for the device constantly, your cravings return within minutes, or you are still smoking alongside it.

Remember that you are not locked in. Many people start at 20mg to get off cigarettes and then step down to 10mg after a few weeks, then lower again over time. Nicotine need is personal, and it also depends on the device. A small pod kit with restricted airflow delivers less vapour per puff than a larger one, so the same liquid can feel noticeably different from one kit to another.

If you have never smoked or vaped, do not start with 20mg. Equally, if you have a medical condition, are on medication, or are unsure about nicotine, speak to a pharmacist or your GP, or contact a local stop smoking service. The NHS offers free support for people who want to quit completely, and stopping nicotine altogether remains the lowest-risk outcome.

Performance and throat hit in a pod kit

Because this is a liquid rather than a complete device, performance depends on the kit you pair it with. In the type of device it is designed for, however, the behaviour is fairly predictable.

Nicotine salt liquids at this strength are tuned for mouth-to-lung vaping. That means you draw the vapour into your mouth first, pause briefly, then inhale. Draws are tighter and the airflow is restricted compared with the open, lung-style inhale used on sub-ohm tanks. Combined with a coil resistance of around 0.8 to 1.2 ohm and power between roughly 8W and 18W, you get cool to warm vapour, a moderate cloud and a smooth throat hit for the nicotine level.

  • Throat hit: noticeable but not harsh at 20mg. A salt formulation is smoother than a freebase liquid at the same milligram strength, but it is still firm. Expect more kick than you would get from a 10mg bottle.
  • Vapour production: modest. This is not a cloud-chasing liquid, and it is not meant to be.
  • Flavour delivery: best at the lower end of your device's power range. Pushing the wattage higher usually makes the berry notes taste thinner and more sugary, not richer.
  • Nicotine delivery: quick enough to satisfy cravings within a few puffs for most smokers, which is the main reason people choose the 20mg salt format.

The VG/PG balance matters here. A mixed ratio in this style of liquid is thin enough to wick quickly through the small cotton and mesh or ceramic coils in pod kits, while still producing visible vapour. Very high VG liquids are thicker and can starve a small coil, leading to dry hits. A balanced blend avoids that problem, which is part of why this kind of product is a common pairing with entry-level refillable pods.

If you find the experience too harsh, the usual fixes are to lower the power, take shorter and slower draws, or move to the 10mg bottle. If it feels weak, check that the pod is filled, that the coil is not worn out, and that the airflow is not set wider than the device's design intends.

Compatible devices, coils and battery considerations

Pod Salt Core liquids are intended for refillable pod systems. Because the product page is for e-liquid, battery life and charging depend on the device, but it helps to know what to look for so the pairing works well.

Device types that suit this liquid:

  • Refillable pod kits with a fixed or replaceable coil head, such as the popular entry-level and mid-range systems from Vaporesso, Oxva, Smok, Uwell, Geekvape, Voopoo and Innokin.
  • Pen-style mouth-to-lung starter kits with small tanks and restricted draw.
  • Pod mods with adjustable wattage, provided you keep the output low.

Coil technology. Most current pod kits use either mesh coils or ceramic coils. Mesh coils spread heat across a larger surface and tend to give fuller flavour and faster ramp-up. Ceramic coils are known for a clean, consistent taste and good resistance to dry hits at low power. Both work with this liquid. Look for coil resistances between about 0.6 and 1.2 ohm. Lower-resistance coils (0.6 ohm) use more power and more liquid and suit a slightly airier draw, while 1.0 to 1.2 ohm coils feel tighter and closer to a cigarette.

Battery size and charging. Typical refillable pod kits ship with batteries in the region of 400mAh to 1,000mAh, and nearly all current models charge through USB-C. As a rough guide, a 500mAh battery usually lasts a light to moderate user through most of a day; a 1,000mAh battery can last a heavier user a full day. Charge from a standard 5V USB port or a phone charger. Avoid leaving a device plugged in overnight, avoid cheap uncertified chargers, and stop using any device that swells, overheats or smells of burning.

What to avoid. Do not use this liquid in a sub-ohm tank on a high-wattage mod. At 40W to 80W the amount of nicotine delivered per puff becomes excessive, you will use liquid very quickly, and the experience is unpleasant. Nicotine salt at this strength is for low-power use only.

If you are not sure whether your device is a good match, check the manufacturer's recommended resistance and wattage range, and compare it with the 0.6 to 1.2 ohm, low-power window above. If it sits inside that range, you can use the liquid with confidence.

Bottle, packaging and build quality

The 10ml bottle is a small plastic dropper-style bottle with a narrow nozzle designed to fit the fill ports on pod kits. The narrow tip matters more than it sounds. Many pods have fill holes only a few millimetres across, and a wide nozzle spills liquid onto the device, which can leak into the electronics or cause a sticky mess in your pocket.

Things to look for when your order arrives:

  • Tamper-evident seal: the cap should have a ring that breaks when first opened. If it is already broken, do not use the bottle and contact the shop.
  • Child-resistant cap: UK rules require e-liquid containers to be child-resistant, so the cap needs to be pressed and turned, or squeezed and turned, rather than simply unscrewed.
  • Label information: the label should show the nicotine strength, the ingredients, the batch number, health warnings and the best-before date. Keep the label legible so you can quote the batch number in the unlikely event of a problem.
  • Bottle condition: there should be no cracks, no leaking around the cap and no residue in the box.

Plastic bottles of this type are soft enough to squeeze, which helps you control the flow when filling, but they are not tough enough to survive being crushed in a bag. Keep the bottle upright in a pocket or a small case, away from sharp objects, and always make sure the cap is fully closed before it goes in a bag.

Build quality in a liquid refers mainly to consistency between batches. Pod Salt is an established brand with a recognisable range, and the Core line is intended to offer a uniform taste from bottle to bottle. As with any e-liquid, slight variations in sweetness or intensity between batches can occur, so if you reorder, compare the batch numbers and give a new bottle a few puffs before judging it.

Store the bottle in a cool, dark place. Heat and direct sunlight degrade nicotine and flavour, turning the liquid darker and making it taste stale or harsh. A cupboard or drawer is ideal. A car glovebox in summer is not.

How to fill your pod and use it properly

Using a refillable pod is simple, but a few details make the difference between a smooth experience and a leaky one. Follow these steps and the liquid will behave the way it is meant to.

  • Step 1, wash your hands and switch the device off. Turn it off or remove the pod entirely before filling. This prevents accidental firing and keeps liquid off the battery contacts.
  • Step 2, open the fill port. Most pods use a silicone bung that you pull back or lift. Some tilt open or slide. Check the instructions for your specific kit.
  • Step 3, fill slowly. Tip the bottle at an angle and aim for the side wall of the pod, letting the liquid run down. This reduces air bubbles. Stop at the max line, which is normally just below the top. Overfilling is the number one cause of leaks and gurgling.
  • Step 4, close the port and wait. Press the bung fully home and let the pod sit upright for five to ten minutes. New coils in particular need time to soak. Skipping this step is a common cause of burnt hits and ruined coils.
  • Step 5, take gentle first puffs. Prime the coil with a few short draws without pressing the fire button if your device is draw-activated, then start vaping normally.

Inhaling technique. Draw slowly for two to four seconds into your mouth, hold for a moment, then breathe in. Do not take a big pull as you would on a lung-style device. Nicotine salts hit quickly, and a harsh or hurried technique tends to cause coughing.

Pacing yourself. Many people, especially those new to salts, take puffs too often in the first few days because nicotine is absorbed so effectively. Take a few puffs, wait several minutes, and see how you feel. It is easier to add more than to undo too much nicotine.

Cleaning. Wipe the mouthpiece and the base of the pod when you refill. Residue around the airflow slots can cause gurgling and leaks. Rinse the pod with warm water and dry it fully if you switch flavours.

Switching flavours. When changing from another flavour, empty the pod and, if the coil is old, replace it. Flavours linger in cotton and mesh, and mixing berry with a mint or tobacco profile gives a muddy taste.

How long does a 10ml bottle last?

Longevity depends on how much you vape, the pod size, the coil resistance and your power setting. It cannot be given as a single fixed number, but you can estimate it with some simple reasoning.

Most refillable pods hold between 2ml and 3ml. A 10ml bottle therefore fills a pod roughly three to five times. A typical mouth-to-lung user going through a mix of puffs across the day tends to use between 1.5ml and 4ml of liquid in 24 hours, depending on how heavily they vape and how much they have replaced cigarettes.

  • Light user, about 1 to 2ml a day: a bottle lasts about five to ten days.
  • Moderate user, about 2 to 3ml a day: roughly three to five days.
  • Heavy user, about 4ml or more a day: two to three days. If you are finishing a bottle that fast, you may want to check that your nicotine strength is high enough, or buy multipacks.

Coil life is separate from liquid life. A sweet fruit flavour like mixed berries tends to build up residue faster than a plain tobacco or menthol liquid, so coils may need replacing after one to two weeks for regular use. If the flavour fades, the vapour thins out or you taste burnt cotton, change the coil before assuming the liquid has gone off.

Shelf life is a different question. Unopened e-liquid typically carries a best-before date of one to two years from manufacture, stated on the label. Once opened, it is best used within a few months, and stored properly it will stay in good condition for that time. Signs that a liquid has degraded include a much darker colour, a sharper or bitter taste and a weaker flavour.

If you want to save money, buying several bottles at once is the usual route, and it spares you the hassle of running out. Just keep the unused bottles somewhere cool and dark until you need them.

Who it suits and who should look elsewhere

Being honest about fit helps you avoid wasting money. This product works well for some people and not for others.

It is a good fit for:

  • Adult smokers who currently smoke around ten or more cigarettes a day and want a nicotine strength that can replace that intake.
  • People who already own a refillable pod kit and want a reliable, familiar fruit flavour for everyday use.
  • Vapers who prefer a rounded fruity taste over a sharply sweet or intensely cooling one.
  • Anyone moving away from single-use devices. The UK ban on single-use vapes, which took effect on 1 June 2025, has pushed many people towards refillable kits, and bottled salts are the most direct replacement for a disposable.

It is probably not right for:

  • Non-smokers and anyone under 18. It is illegal to sell nicotine products to under-18s, and there is no benefit to starting.
  • Light or occasional smokers, who will generally find 20mg too strong and are better served by the 10mg bottle.
  • Sub-ohm and high-wattage users, who need low-nicotine freebase liquid in a larger bottle size.
  • People who want a zero-effort device. Refillable pods need filling, cleaning and occasional coil changes. If you want something you pick up and use without any maintenance, a refillable kit may feel like extra work.
  • Anyone who dislikes sweet vapes. This is a fruit flavour and while it is not syrupy, it is clearly on the sweeter side.

If you are unsure between two strengths, the rule of thumb is to start with the lower one and move up only if it fails to control cravings. Going down from a strong liquid is often unpleasant, but moving up carries no such cost.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most problems with pod kit vaping come down to the coil, the fill level or the settings rather than the liquid itself. Here are the common ones and how to deal with them.

  • Burnt or harsh taste. Usually a worn coil or a coil that was not soaked before use. Replace the coil, wait five to ten minutes after filling, and avoid chain-vaping, which does not give the wick time to re-saturate.
  • Dry hit. The coil is not getting enough liquid. Check the pod is above the minimum line, check the fill hole is not blocked and make sure you are not drawing too hard or too long.
  • Gurgling or spitting. Condensation or excess liquid in the airflow path. Remove the pod, tap out any pooled liquid, wipe the airflow slots and refill to a slightly lower level.
  • Leaking. Usually from overfilling, a loose bung, a cracked pod or pressure changes. Fill only to the max line, push the bung in fully, store the device upright and keep it away from heat.
  • Weak flavour. Often vaper's tongue, where your taste buds become less sensitive to a flavour you use constantly. Take a break, drink water or switch flavours for a day. If it persists, replace the coil.
  • Throat too harsh. Lower the power, take slower draws or switch to the 10mg strength.
  • Device will not fire. Check the charge, check the pod is seated properly and clean the contacts with a dry cloth or cotton bud.
  • Liquid on the battery contacts. Switch the device off, wipe it dry and leave it for a while before use.
  • Headache, dizziness or nausea. These can be signs of too much nicotine. Stop vaping, get fresh air and use a lower strength next time.

If you have tried these fixes and the liquid still tastes wrong, check the batch number, the best-before date and the storage conditions. If the bottle arrived damaged, leaking or with a broken seal, contact the shop with your order number and a photo of the problem so it can be resolved.

Stop using any device that overheats, swells, makes unusual noises or produces smoke, and do not charge damaged batteries.

Value for money and how it compares with other nic salts

Value in e-liquid is a combination of price per ml, how long the bottle lasts, how consistent the flavour is and how well it works in the device you already own. A 10ml bottle is the legal ceiling for nicotine liquid in the UK, so you cannot compare by bottle size alone. What you can do is compare cost per day.

As a reference point, a single refillable pod holds around 2ml and a 10ml bottle fills it about five times. That is the same amount of liquid as five typical 2ml single-use vapes, which have been banned from sale in the UK since 1 June 2025. For anyone who used to buy disposables, switching to a bottled salt and a reusable kit generally works out cheaper over a month or two, even after allowing for the cost of the kit and the occasional replacement coil.

How it compares with similar ranges. The nic salt category is crowded, and several other widely stocked ranges offer comparable products.

  • IVG Salts and Elfliq-style ranges: also 10ml in 10mg and 20mg, with a very wide flavour list. They are a reasonable alternative if you want a particular flavour that Pod Salt Core does not have. Sweetness levels tend to be higher in some of these ranges.
  • Nasty Salt and Hayati-style salts: more focused on bold, sweet or dessert-style flavours and often a bit more intense. They suit people who find Pod Salt Core a little mild.
  • Pod Salt's own other lines: the brand sells several families at different positions on the price and complexity scale. Core is the plainer, everyday option, and the others generally add more layered flavours or different strength options.

Where Pod Salt Core tends to do well is consistency and simplicity. It will not dazzle with unusual flavour combinations, but it is predictable, widely available and easy to reorder. Where it may fall short is outright flavour intensity and novelty. If you want something very bold or unusual, another range may serve you better.

Price changes regularly, so rather than quoting figures that go out of date, check the current price on this page against the other options you are considering and factor in delivery. Multi-buy offers on 10ml bottles can reduce the cost per bottle noticeably if you use the same flavour regularly.

UK rules, safe storage and recycling

Buying nicotine liquid in the UK comes with a few regulations, and following them protects you and the people around you.

  • Age limit: you must be 18 or over to buy nicotine vaping products, and shops are required to carry out age checks.
  • Nicotine cap: 20mg/ml is the maximum strength allowed for e-liquid, and the same limit applies to nicotine in any vape device. This product sits at that ceiling.
  • Container size: refill bottles containing nicotine cannot exceed 10ml, which is why this product is sold in that size.
  • Packaging: bottles must be child-resistant and tamper-evident and carry the required health warning on the label.

Safe storage. Nicotine liquid is toxic if swallowed and can be absorbed through skin. Keep bottles out of reach of children and pets at all times, ideally in a closed box or high cupboard. If liquid gets on your skin, wash it off with soap and water. If you get it in your eyes, rinse with plenty of water. If anyone swallows it, seek urgent medical advice and have the bottle to hand.

Recycling. Empty e-liquid bottles can be recycled in many areas, but rules vary between local councils, so check yours. Where it is accepted, empty and rinse the bottle, let it dry and put it in the plastic recycling. If it is not accepted, put it in general waste rather than pouring unused liquid down the drain. Devices and batteries belong in a separate stream. They should never go in household bins or general recycling because of the fire risk. Take them to a household waste recycling centre, a supermarket or electrical shop with a small electricals drop-off point, or use a shop take-back scheme. Retailers that sell vaping products are expected to offer a way to recycle batteries and devices.

Doing this properly also reduces litter, which is one of the main reasons single-use vapes were banned.

Finally, be aware that nicotine is not risk-free. UK health bodies say vaping is substantially less harmful than smoking for adults who switch completely, but it is not harmless, and the long-term effects are still being studied. The best outcome for your health is to stop smoking, and ideally to stop nicotine use in time.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Best value per ml in the category
  • Choose your own device and coil
  • Available in a wide strength ladder

Cons

  • Refilling can leak if you overfill
  • Coil priming has a small learning curve
  • You handle the bottle — less discreet than pods

Customer Buying Tips

  • Match the strength to how much you smoked: 20+/day → 10-20 mg nic salt; 10/day → 10 mg; under 5/day → 3-6 mg freebase.
  • Match the ratio to your device: pod kits take 50/50, sub-ohm tanks take 70/30 shortfill.
  • Don't overfill: leaving the airhole clear prevents gurgling and leaking.
  • Shake before use so the nicotine and flavour integrate evenly.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose 10mg or 20mg Pod Salt Core Mixed Berries?

Choose 20mg if you smoke roughly ten or more cigarettes a day and want a liquid strong enough to control cravings. Choose 10mg if you smoke less, if you find 20mg too sharp, or if you are gradually cutting down. The flavour is the same, so you can move between strengths without changing taste.

Is 20mg the maximum strength allowed in the UK?

Yes. The legal limit for nicotine in UK e-liquid is 20mg/ml, and the same cap applies to the nicotine in any vaping device. Refill bottles containing nicotine are also limited to 10ml, which is the size of this product.

How do I charge the device I use this liquid with?

This listing is for e-liquid only, so there is no battery in the bottle. Most refillable pod kits charge by USB-C from a standard 5V port or phone charger. Use the cable that came with your kit, do not leave it charging unattended overnight, and stop using any device that gets hot or swells.

Can I use this liquid in any pod kit or tank?

It is made for refillable pod kits and mouth-to-lung devices with coils around 0.6 to 1.2 ohm run at low power. It is not suitable for sub-ohm tanks at high wattage because the nicotine level is too strong and the liquid would be used up quickly.

Are there other flavours in the Pod Salt Core range?

Yes. Pod Salt Core is sold in a number of fruit, menthol and other flavours, and usually in both 10mg and 20mg. Browse the Pod Salt Core category on our site to see the current flavours we stock, and swap to a new one once you have finished your current bottle.

How long will a 10ml bottle last?

A light user may take five to ten days, a moderate user three to five days and a heavy user two to three days. A 10ml bottle fills a typical 2ml pod about five times, so your own habits are the main factor. Coils usually need changing every one to two weeks with sweet fruit flavours.

Is this good value compared with disposable vapes?

For regular vapers, usually yes. One 10ml bottle holds the same liquid as about five 2ml single-use devices, and single-use vapes are no longer legal to sell in the UK. You need a refillable kit and the occasional coil, but the cost per day is generally lower over time.

Who should not buy this product?

Anyone under 18, non-smokers, and anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding should not use it. Occasional smokers will probably find 20mg too strong and should choose the 10mg bottle. If you have a medical condition or take regular medication, ask a pharmacist or GP first.

Do you deliver to the UK and what if something arrives damaged?

We deliver to addresses across the UK, and an age check applies because this is a nicotine product. Delivery options and timings are shown at checkout. If a bottle arrives leaking, cracked or with a broken seal, contact us with your order number and a photo and we will arrange a replacement or refund under our returns policy.

Is there a warranty on e-liquid?

E-liquid does not carry a warranty in the way a device does, but your statutory rights still apply if an item is faulty or not as described. Keep the bottle and note the batch number printed on the label so we can investigate quickly. Sealed, unopened bottles are the easiest to return, so check the contents on arrival.

Quality feels solid. Doesn't feel cheap like some other brands I've tried. Happy with the buy.
