Tick Tock Magic 8000 Strawberry Kiwi Refill Pods: What You Are Buying

Tick Tock Magic 8000 Prefilled Refill Pods in Strawberry Kiwi are sealed, pre-filled pods that click into a compatible Tick Tock Magic 8000 handset. The pod is the consumable part of the system: it holds the e-liquid and the coil. The handset holds the battery and the circuitry that fires the coil when you draw. When a pod runs out, you remove it, fit a fresh one and carry on with the same handset, which is the main practical difference between a pod system and a single-use disposable.

This listing is for the refill pod only, not the handset. If you do not yet own a Magic 8000 handset, you will need to buy one separately before these pods are any use. Check the handset you plan to use and confirm it is the Magic 8000 type, because pods from different brands and even different ranges are not interchangeable, however similar they look in a photo.

A quick summary of what the listing covers:

  • Brand: Tick Tock
  • Range: Magic 8000
  • Format: sealed, prefilled refill pod (not refillable by the user)
  • Flavour: Strawberry Kiwi
  • Rated puffs: 8000, a manufacturer rating rather than a promise
  • Coil: mesh, built into the pod
  • Works with: the Tick Tock Magic 8000 handset
  • Sold to: adults aged 18 and over only

Under UK rules that came into force on 1 June 2025, single-use disposable vapes can no longer be sold. That is a large part of why rechargeable handsets with swappable pods have become the mainstream format for fruit-flavoured vaping in Britain. You get the same grab-and-go convenience, with the added benefit that only the small pod needs replacing rather than a whole battery and casing.

Strawberry Kiwi is a straightforward fruit pairing: sweet, ripe strawberry up front with the sharper, slightly tart character of kiwi behind it. It sits in the middle of the Magic 8000 flavour list, away from the menthol-heavy ice flavours and away from the dessert and sweet profiles. The rest of this page goes through how it performs, how it tastes, how to fit and look after it, and how it compares with other pods at a similar price, so you can decide whether it suits you before you order.

Performance and Puff Delivery

The headline number on this pod is 8000 puffs. That figure is a manufacturer rating, produced by dividing the e-liquid in the pod by an assumed amount used per puff under laboratory-style conditions. It is useful for comparing one product against another, but it is not a guarantee of what you will get in daily use, and it helps to understand why.

Real-world puff counts depend on several things that vary from person to person:

  • Puff length: a short, light draw uses far less liquid than a long, deep one. Someone taking two-second puffs will get noticeably more out of a pod than someone taking five-second puffs.
  • Puff frequency: chain vaping heats the coil again and again without time to cool, which uses liquid faster and can slightly dull the flavour towards the end of a session.
  • Draw style: a tighter, mouth-to-lung draw generally uses less liquid per puff than a loose, airy draw straight to the lungs.
  • Nicotine strength: people on a lower strength often draw more or for longer to feel satisfied, which shortens the life of the pod.
  • Handset battery level: a handset running low can deliver a weaker, cooler vapour, which some people compensate for with longer draws.

UK rules limit the volume of a sealed refill container to 2ml, so the real measure of how much vaping is in the pod is the millilitre figure on the pack, not the puff count on the front. A 2ml pod rated at 8000 puffs implies a very small amount of liquid per puff, so treat 8000 as the ceiling for a careful, light user rather than the number to plan around. A heavier user could reasonably expect a good deal fewer, and there is nothing wrong with the pod if that happens.

What you can expect in practice is consistent vapour and flavour for most of the pod's life. Mesh coils tend to hold their output steadily until the liquid gets low, then fade quickly rather than gradually. When the flavour starts to thin out and you notice a dry or slightly burnt edge, the pod is close to empty and is best replaced rather than pushed further.

The pod is draw-activated, so there is no button to press. You inhale and the handset fires the coil. That keeps the experience simple and makes it a gentle step up for anyone moving from a basic disposable to a pod system for the first time.

Strawberry Kiwi Flavour Profile

Strawberry Kiwi is built on a familiar idea: a soft, sweet red fruit balanced against a greener, tangier one. On the inhale you can expect the strawberry to arrive first, with a jammy, candy-like sweetness rather than the sharp acidity of an unripe berry. The kiwi follows through the middle of the draw and into the exhale, adding a little tartness and a slightly juicy, green note that stops the whole thing from tasting flat or syrupy.

Here is how the profile typically breaks down across a puff:

  • Inhale: sweet strawberry, rounded and soft, closer to strawberry sweets than to a punnet of fresh fruit.
  • Mid-draw: kiwi tartness comes through, giving a gentle sharpness on the sides of the tongue.
  • Exhale: a lingering mix of both fruits, with a light sweetness that fades quickly rather than coating the mouth.

There is no deliberate menthol or cooling agent in the name of this flavour, so it should feel smooth and room-temperature rather than icy. If you like a cooler finish, look at the ice variants in the same range instead. If you prefer your fruit flavours without any chill, this is the more natural choice.

Flavour is subjective, and descriptions like this are only a guide. Some people pick out the kiwi more strongly, others find the strawberry dominates, and your own sense of taste, along with what you vaped before, changes the picture. As a general rule, a fresh pod tastes strongest in the first few hundred puffs, then settles into a steady, slightly milder profile that holds until the liquid runs low.

It helps to avoid switching flavours mid-pod. If you swap a heavily mentholated pod for this one, residual taste can linger and make the strawberry seem muted for a while. Taking a few puffs, or a sip of water between flavours, helps reset your palate. People who enjoy other mixed fruit pods, such as strawberry-and-something-else blends, usually find Strawberry Kiwi easy to settle into because it follows the same sweet-with-a-tart-edge pattern.

Design and Build Quality of the Pod

The pod itself is a small, sealed cartridge made of moulded plastic with a transparent or semi-transparent window on some designs, depending on the batch, so you can judge roughly how much liquid is left. It clicks into the top of the Magic 8000 handset and is held in place by a snug fit and electrical contacts at the base. When it is seated correctly, you should feel a firm click and see no gap between the pod and the handset body.

Points worth knowing about the pod's construction:

  • Sealed liquid chamber: the e-liquid is factory-filled and the pod is not meant to be opened or topped up. Attempting to refill it can damage the seal and the coil and is not recommended.
  • Built-in coil: the mesh coil is part of the pod, so every new pod comes with a fresh coil. That is why flavour stays consistent from one pod to the next.
  • Contact points: small metal contacts on the underside connect to the handset. Keep them dry and free from fluff or pocket lint.
  • Mouthpiece: a moulded mouthpiece on top, designed for comfortable lip contact and a steady draw.
  • Protective seal or cap: new pods can ship with a small cap or film over the contacts or mouthpiece. Remove any packaging before fitting.

In use, the pod should feel solid rather than flimsy. A properly made pod does not rattle, wobble or squeak when you push it in or pull it out, and it should not leak around the mouthpiece. If you ever see liquid on the outside, wipe the pod and the handset contacts with a dry tissue before use, and think about whether the pod was stored on its side in a warm place.

The pod is small enough to carry a spare in a coat pocket or bag. A sensible habit is to keep a spare in its original packaging until you need it, because loose pods in a pocket pick up lint and can have their contacts bent. Store them upright where possible, away from direct sunlight and heat, which can thin the e-liquid and increase the chance of a leak.

It is a plain, functional design. There is no screen, no adjustable airflow dial and no app, which keeps the price down and the learning curve short.

Battery and Charging: The Handset Does the Work

A refill pod has no battery of its own. All the power comes from the Magic 8000 handset, so the charging and battery life you get are down to that device and how you use it. This is worth stating plainly because the question comes up often: you do not charge the pod, you charge the handset the pod sits in.

Handsets in this category typically use a rechargeable lithium battery in the region of several hundred milliamp-hours, charged through a USB-C port. Exact capacity depends on the handset, so check the figure printed on the handset's own packaging or listing rather than relying on a general estimate. As a rule of thumb, a bigger capacity gives you more puffs between charges but takes longer to refill from flat.

Practical charging advice:

  • Use a standard USB-C cable and a normal phone-style charger or a computer port. Avoid unbranded fast chargers of unknown quality.
  • Do not vape while charging. Wait until the handset is full, unplug it and then use it.
  • Do not leave it charging unattended overnight on a soft surface such as a duvet or sofa. Charge it on a hard, clear surface.
  • Unplug when full. Lithium batteries are happiest when they are not left on charge for long periods.
  • Keep the charging port dry and clear. Pocket fluff in the port can stop it connecting properly.

You will usually get several pods' worth of use from one handset charge, but how many depends on your puffing style and the pod's draw. If you charge the handset every couple of days and swap the pod when the flavour fades, the two rarely run out at the same time, which is part of the appeal of this format.

If the handset seems to die faster than it did when it was new, the likely cause is simple wear on the cell, or a pod with a coil that draws more power than it should. Try a fresh pod first. If a second pod behaves the same, the handset battery may be ageing and the handset may need replacing. Never try to open the handset or replace the battery yourself.

Mesh Coil Technology and E-Liquid

Strawberry Kiwi pods use a mesh coil. Instead of a round wire wrapped around cotton, a mesh coil is a thin, flat screen of metal with a much larger surface area touching the cotton wick. That larger surface heats the liquid more evenly and more quickly, which tends to deliver fuller flavour, a smoother draw and less of the dry, harsh edge that some older coil designs produce.

Why this matters for a fruit flavour like Strawberry Kiwi:

  • Even heating helps the lighter, more volatile fruit notes come through without cooking the sweeter ones too hard.
  • Quick ramp-up means the first puff after a pause tastes much like the last one.
  • Lower hot spots reduce the risk of the burnt taste that can occur when a small area of a coil gets too hot.
  • Consistent vapour across the life of the pod, rather than a slow fade.

The e-liquid is a blend of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine with flavouring and nicotine, which is the standard base for almost all UK e-liquids. The balance between the two affects throat feel and vapour: propylene glycol carries flavour and gives more throat hit, while vegetable glycerine produces thicker vapour and a smoother feel. The exact ratio varies by product, so check the pack for details.

The pod holds a sealed volume of liquid that is limited under UK law, and the ingredients, nicotine strength and warnings are printed on the packaging. The rated 8000 puffs is calculated from that volume. Because the pod is sealed, you cannot adjust the liquid, but you also cannot get the mixing and dosing wrong.

With a mesh coil the pod performs best when you let it breathe. Take steady, moderate draws, allow a few seconds between puffs when you can, and avoid dry hits by never drawing on a pod that has visibly emptied. When the liquid is gone, the coil has nothing to wet it, and it will burn. Replacing the pod promptly protects the coil, your palate and the handset contacts.

Nicotine Strength Guidance Within UK Limits

Nicotine-containing vaping products in the UK are capped at 20mg/ml, which is commonly shown on packaging as 2 percent. That limit applies to pods and to the disposables that used to be sold in the same format. The strength of this pod is printed on the pack and in the product options, so confirm it before you buy and again when it arrives.

There is no universal right answer, but these rough guidelines are a sensible starting point for adults who already use nicotine:

  • Heavier smokers or those moving off cigarettes: the top strength of 20mg/ml usually feels closest to what you are used to, because it delivers a stronger throat hit and faster satisfaction.
  • Moderate smokers: something in the 10 to 12mg/ml range often works, with a smoother throat feel that suits a fruit flavour.
  • Light or occasional nicotine users: a lower strength, or a nicotine-free option if offered, keeps the experience gentle.

Fruit flavours at high strength can taste a little different from the same flavour at a lower strength. Higher nicotine adds a sharper, peppery throat hit that can cut across a soft strawberry note. If you find the throat hit too harsh, drop one strength level rather than reducing how often you vape, because pulling harder to compensate can make things worse.

Signs that your strength is too high include dizziness, nausea, a racing heart, sweating or a headache. If you notice any of these, stop, drink some water and step down to a lower strength next time. Signs that your strength is too low include chain vaping, cravings that return within minutes and drawing very long puffs.

If you do not smoke and have never used nicotine, vaping is not recommended. Vaping is intended for adult smokers who want an alternative, and nicotine is addictive. Anyone who is pregnant, has a heart condition or is on medication should speak to a pharmacist or doctor before using nicotine products. For help stopping smoking altogether, your local NHS stop smoking service offers free support and can advise on licensed products.

UK Rules, Safe Storage and Recycling

Vaping products sold in the UK must follow rules on nicotine strength, container size, packaging and warnings. For a prefilled pod like this one, the points that affect you as a buyer are straightforward. The nicotine content is capped at 20mg/ml, the sealed pod holds no more than 2ml, and the packaging carries a health warning and a list of ingredients. Sales are restricted to adults aged 18 and over, and a retailer is expected to check age at the point of sale and on delivery.

Safe storage is simple but often ignored:

  • Keep pods and handsets out of reach of children and pets. Nicotine e-liquid is harmful if swallowed or if it gets onto skin, and a pod that has been chewed or cracked can leak.
  • Store pods upright where you can and away from heat. A parked car in summer is a poor place for a spare pod.
  • Do not leave the handset in a pocket with coins or keys, which can short the contacts.
  • If liquid gets on your skin, wash it off with soap and water. If it gets in your eyes, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

Recycling matters, and it is easy to get wrong. Used pods and handsets contain plastic, metal and a lithium battery, so they must not go in your household bin or kerbside recycling, where a damaged battery can start fires in collection lorries and sorting plants. Instead, take them to a retailer that offers a vape take-back service, or to a household waste recycling centre that accepts small electrical items. Many shops that sell vaping products are required to accept used ones, and WEEE drop-off points exist across the UK. Look for the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol, which means the item should be recycled as electrical waste.

A good habit is to keep a small container at home for used pods and take them in batches when you are next near a drop-off point. Do not try to open the pod to empty it first, since that spreads liquid and makes the recycling less safe for the people handling it.

Who These Pods Are For, and Who Should Skip Them

Tick Tock Magic 8000 Strawberry Kiwi pods suit a fairly specific group of adults. They are for existing smokers or vapers who already have, or are willing to buy, a Magic 8000 handset and want a sweet-and-tart fruit flavour without menthol. They also suit anyone who found single-use disposables wasteful and prefers a rechargeable handset with swappable pods.

You are likely to be happy with them if:

  • You already own a Magic 8000 handset and want a reliable fruit flavour to put in it.
  • You like strawberry-led flavours and enjoy a bit of tartness to stop the sweetness from becoming heavy.
  • You want a simple draw-activated system with no buttons, settings or app.
  • You are trying to cut down on or stop smoking cigarettes and want something that is easy to use all day.
  • You like to carry a spare pod in your pocket and swap rather than refill.

You may want to look elsewhere if:

  • You do not own a compatible handset and do not want to buy one. The pod will not work on its own.
  • You do not smoke or vape already. Nicotine is addictive and vaping is not intended for people who have never used nicotine.
  • You prefer a refillable tank. Prefilled pods are sealed and you cannot choose your own juice or strength mix.
  • You want a cooling flavour. This one is smooth rather than icy, so an ice variant may suit you better.
  • You want adjustable airflow or wattage. The Magic 8000 is a fixed, simple system.
  • You are under 18. These products are strictly for adults.

It is also worth being honest about taste fatigue. Sweet fruit flavours are pleasant for the first several hundred puffs, but some vapers find a single sweet flavour tiring across a whole pod. If you are unsure, buying two different flavours and alternating between them is a reasonable way to keep things interesting without committing to a large amount of one profile.

How to Fit and Use Your Pod

Fitting a pod takes a few seconds, and doing it properly avoids most of the problems people run into later. Start with a charged handset and a fresh pod still in its packaging.

  • Step 1: Check the handset. Make sure it has some charge and that the pod socket is clean and dry.
  • Step 2: Unpack the pod. Remove any film, cap or seal from the contacts or mouthpiece. Do not squeeze the pod body.
  • Step 3: Align and push. Line the pod up with the socket and press it firmly until you feel a click. There should be no visible gap.
  • Step 4: Prime it. Take two or three gentle, short draws without inhaling deeply. This lets the mesh coil wet through the cotton before you use it properly.
  • Step 5: Vape. Draw steadily and evenly. The handset fires automatically as you inhale.
  • Step 6: Swap when empty. When the flavour fades or the draw turns harsh, pull the pod straight out and fit a new one.

A few extra tips make the experience better:

  • Do not take very long puffs. Three seconds is plenty, and shorter draws extend the pod's life.
  • Leave a few seconds between puffs so the coil can rewet.
  • Hold the handset upright when you are not using it, especially when carrying it in a bag.
  • Do not press the pod in at an angle. If it does not click, take it out, check the contacts and try again.
  • Store spare pods in their packaging until you need them.

When you are done with a pod, do not try to open or refill it. Put it somewhere safe until you can take it to a recycling point. If you are changing flavour, remove the old pod, fit the new one, and give it a couple of priming puffs so the coil is properly wetted.

It is worth building a simple routine: charge the handset when it dips to a quarter, carry a spare pod, and check the contacts every now and then. A little care of this sort makes the difference between a system that works smoothly for months and one that is a constant source of small annoyances.

Troubleshooting Common Problems

Most problems with a pod system have a simple cause, and many can be fixed in a minute without replacing anything. Here are the most common ones and what to try.

  • No vapour or the handset does not fire: check the handset has charge, remove the pod and refit it firmly, and wipe the contacts with a dry cloth. If the handset has an indicator light that blinks when you draw, a blinking light often points to a poor connection or low battery.
  • Weak flavour or thin vapour: the handset battery may be low, or you may be chain vaping so the coil cannot keep up. Wait between puffs and charge the handset. If it persists, the pod may be nearly empty.
  • Burnt or dry taste: this usually means the pod is running out of liquid or the coil was not primed. Stop using the pod and fit a fresh one. Do not keep drawing on a burnt coil.
  • Gurgling or spitting: liquid may have collected in the airflow path. Hold the handset upright, blow gently through the mouthpiece, or wipe it clean with a tissue and wait a few minutes.
  • Leaking: check for cracks and make sure the pod is seated properly. A pod that has been kept warm or knocked about is more likely to leak. Wipe the handset and the pod, and replace the pod if the leak continues.
  • Pod will not click in: check you have removed all packaging, that the pod is the correct type, and that the socket is clear of fluff.
  • Handset will not charge: try a different cable and charger, clean the port gently with a dry cocktail stick or similar non-metal tool, and plug it into a different outlet.
  • Flavour tastes different from last time: this is common after changing flavour or after a cold. A few priming puffs and a sip of water usually bring it back.

If a pod is faulty from new, for example it leaks straight away or does not produce vapour with a charged handset that works with other pods, keep the packaging and contact the shop. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, which means a faulty product can be reported for a repair, replacement or refund depending on the circumstances.

For safety, stop using any handset that gets noticeably hot, swells, smells of burning or shows damage. Unplug it, move it away from anything flammable and dispose of it through a proper recycling point.

Value for Money and How It Compares

Judging value for a prefilled pod comes down to how long it lasts, how it tastes, and what you already own. If you already have a Magic 8000 handset, each additional pod is a relatively small cost and you avoid paying for another battery and casing every time you run out. If you do not, factor in the handset cost as well, because it spreads over many pods.

A fairer way to compare pods is not to look at the puff rating, but to divide the price by the stated millilitres. Because UK law limits the size of a sealed pod to 2ml, most pods in this category end up in a similar range on volume, and the main differences are in coil quality, flavour accuracy and how well the pod resists leaking.

How it sits against other well-known options, in general terms:

  • Against Elf Bar and Lost Mary style pods: those brands have large followings and wide flavour ranges. Tick Tock Magic 8000 pods are a reasonable alternative if you already own the handset, but they are not interchangeable, so there is little point switching handset just to change brand unless price or flavour is a deciding factor.
  • Against Geek Bar and similar pods: comparable in format and mesh coil approach. The right choice often comes down to which flavours you like and what is in stock.
  • Against refillable tank kits: a tank with bottled e-liquid is usually cheaper per millilitre over time and lets you pick your own strength and flavour, but takes more effort, is messier, and needs coil changes. Prefilled pods are simpler and cleaner.
  • Against cheaper no-name pods: price differences can reflect real differences in coil quality, quality control and leak rates. A very low price is not automatically a better deal if the pod fails early.

Where Strawberry Kiwi pods offer good value is in being an easy, no-maintenance fruit flavour that suits a wide group of adult vapers. Where they are less attractive is for anyone who already vapes heavily and may go through pods quickly, or someone who wants a lot of control over their settings.

A sensible way to approach buying is to start with one or two pods, see how long they last for you, then decide whether to buy in larger quantities. That way you pay for what you actually use rather than for a rated number on the front of a pack.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Zero-mess flavour change — snap in, done
  • Consistent draw from a factory-primed coil
  • Long shelf-life, easy to travel with

Cons

  • Costs more per ml than freestanding e-liquid
  • Pods are proprietary to a specific device

Customer Buying Tips

  • Check device compatibility: a pod must match your exact device family (e.g. "Elfa Pro" pods only fit Elfa Pro devices).
  • Store sealed pods upright, below 30 °C — heat and sunlight drain flavour.
  • Rotate flavours: using the same pod flavour back-to-back dulls your palate within a week.

Frequently asked questions

Which nicotine strength should I choose?

UK law caps nicotine in vaping products at 20mg/ml, and the strength of this pod is printed on the pack, so check it before you buy. As a rough guide, heavier smokers usually pick the top strength, moderate smokers choose around 10 to 12mg/ml, and light smokers go lower. If you feel dizzy or jittery, step down to a lower strength next time.

How do I charge it?

The pod has no battery, so there is nothing to charge in the pod itself. You charge the Tick Tock Magic 8000 handset, usually with a USB-C cable and a standard phone charger. Do not use the handset while it charges, and unplug it once it is full.

Do these pods work without a handset?

No. This listing is for the prefilled refill pod only, and it needs a compatible Tick Tock Magic 8000 handset to work. Check that you already own one, or buy one separately, before ordering.

What other flavours are available in the Magic 8000 range?

The Magic 8000 range includes a wide selection of fruit, ice and mixed flavours, such as Banana Ice, Blue Razz Blast, Cherry Ice and Fruit Bomb. Any pod in the range should fit the same handset, so you can swap flavours freely. Take a sip of water between very different flavours so the previous taste does not linger.

How long does one pod last?

The 8000 puff figure is a manufacturer rating and is best read as an upper limit for light, careful use. A 2ml pod will last a lot less time if you take long, frequent puffs. Many people find a pod lasts anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on how often they vape.

Is it good value for money?

It is good value if you already own the handset, because you only pay for the pod and avoid buying a new battery each time. Compare price per millilitre rather than rated puffs, and think about how quickly you personally use a pod. If you are unsure, buy one or two first and see how they last.

Who should and should not buy these pods?

They suit adult smokers and vapers who own a Magic 8000 handset and like a sweet, tart fruit flavour without menthol. They are not for non-smokers, anyone under 18, people who are pregnant, or anyone who wants a refillable tank or adjustable settings. If you have health concerns, talk to a pharmacist or doctor first.

Do you deliver across the UK?

Yes, orders are delivered to addresses in the UK, and delivery options and costs are shown at checkout. Because vaping products are age-restricted, you must be 18 or over and may be asked to prove your age when you order or on delivery. Please check the delivery information at checkout for the latest timings.

What if my pod arrives faulty or leaks?

Keep the packaging and contact the shop as soon as possible with your order details and a description or photo of the problem. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, and faulty items can be returned for repair, replacement or refund depending on the situation. Used and opened pods may be treated differently, so please check the returns policy.

How do I recycle used pods?

Do not put used pods or handsets in your household bin or kerbside recycling, because the lithium battery in the handset can start fires. Take them to a shop that offers vape take-back, or to a household waste recycling centre that accepts small electrical items. Look for the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol, which marks items for electrical recycling.

Honest review — it works

Quality feels solid. Doesn't feel cheap like some other brands I've tried. Happy with the buy.
