What the Elf Bar 4-in-1 Ultra 50 Prefilled Pod Kit is, and who it is for

The Elf Bar 4-in-1 Ultra 50 Prefilled Pod Kit is a rechargeable pod device sold with prefilled pods, built so that one box gives you several flavours instead of one. The '4-in-1' in the name refers to that multi-pod format: rather than committing to a single flavour for the whole life of a device, you get a set of pods to rotate through, and when one runs out you swap in the next. It is a nicotine salt product, available here in 10mg and 20mg, and every edition is priced at £9.95.

This page is written for adults who already smoke or vape and want an honest read before ordering. We stock the kit in eight listings: the standard version plus Drinks, Pink, Purple, Red, Special, Tropical and Yellow editions. They share the same device format, the same two strengths and the same price, so the decision between them comes down to flavour direction and nothing else. Where we quote numbers below, we separate the firm ones (price, strengths, UK legal limits) from estimates based on how comparable pod kits behave, because the pack and Elf Bar's own leaflet remain the final authority on battery size and puff ratings.

A few points are worth settling before anything else.

  • The '50' is part of the model name. It is not a nicotine strength. UK law caps nicotine in vaping liquid at 20mg/ml, which is 2%, and this kit is sold at 10mg or 20mg.
  • It is not a disposable. Single-use disposable vapes have been illegal to sell in the UK since 1 June 2025. A rechargeable device that takes replaceable prefilled pods sits outside that ban, which is a large part of why this format has become so common.
  • It is strictly 18+. You must be 18 or over to buy, and the kit is intended for people who already use nicotine.
  • Prefilled means no maintenance. The pods arrive sealed and ready. There are no bottles, no coils to change and no settings to learn.

The short version is that this is a convenient way to carry several flavours in one small kit, aimed at mouth-to-lung vapers who liked the simplicity of a disposable but want something rechargeable, legal and less wasteful. The sections below go through performance, build, battery, strengths, troubleshooting and value so you can judge whether it fits the way you actually vape.

What is in the box and what you need alongside it

Going by the 4-in-1 format, the box holds a rechargeable pod device plus four prefilled pods. One pod is usually seated in the device or sits beside it, and the rest wait in the tray until you need them. Each edition's listing names the four flavours it contains, so read that before ordering if you are particular about taste. We are describing the format here rather than quoting a verified packing list, so treat the pack itself as the final word on exactly what is included, including whether a charging cable is supplied.

  • A rechargeable pod device with a built-in, sealed battery.
  • Four prefilled pods, each with its own coil and e-liquid supply.
  • A leaflet with warnings and basic instructions.

There are a few things the box will not solve for you.

  • A USB power source. An ordinary 5V phone charger or a laptop port will do. Avoid unbranded, damaged or very cheap adapters, which are a common cause of charging faults.
  • A cable that fits the charging port. Many pod kits include one. If yours does not, check the port type on the unit before buying a replacement.
  • Somewhere to carry spare pods. Keep them in the original tray or a small case, upright and away from heat, so the wicks stay saturated and nothing leaks into a bag or pocket.
  • Proof of age. Everything we sell is strictly 18+, so be ready to show you are old enough.

One compatibility warning is worth repeating. Pods are generally designed for a specific device family, and Elf Bar sells several lines that look similar from the outside. Do not assume that pods from the Elf Bar 600 line, or from another brand, will fit this device. If you plan to buy spare or replacement pods later, match them to this kit's exact name, or ask us before you order. A pod that almost fits can seat badly, leak or fail to fire, and none of those outcomes is worth saving a few pounds.

The eight editions and what to expect from each

The eight listings differ only in which four flavours sit in the box. Elf Bar uses colour coding on its packaging to signal a flavour family, and the edition names here follow that shorthand. We cannot promise the exact four pods inside each edition without the product page in front of you, so use the descriptions below as a guide to direction and read the listing for the confirmed lineup.

  • Standard kit: the base 4-in-1 assortment. Choose it if you want the manufacturer's default mix and are not fussed about a theme.
  • Drinks Edition: built around soft drink and cold beverage flavours. If you like cola, lemonade or iced fizzy profiles, this is the direction. These tend to be crisp, with a cooling edge rather than heavy sweetness.
  • Pink Edition: sweet berry and candy territory, which is how pink is usually used on pod packaging. Expect rounded, sugary flavours with the occasional tart lemonade-style note.
  • Purple Edition: grape, blackcurrant and darker berry flavours. These are deeper and a little more syrupy than the red or pink families, and they suit people who like a heavier fruit base.
  • Red Edition: cherry, strawberry and other red fruit. Bright, familiar and easy to like, often finished with a gentle ice note.
  • Tropical Edition: mango, pineapple, passion fruit and similar. Juicy, with a sweet and sour balance that holds up well at 20mg.
  • Yellow Edition: citrus, banana and pineapple territory. Zesty lemon sits alongside creamier banana-style flavours, so this one has the widest spread inside a single box.
  • Special Edition: the wildcard. Expect a looser mix and sometimes less conventional combinations, which makes it the sensible pick if you enjoy trying something unexpected.

Choosing sensibly comes down to how you vape. If you like variety, any edition works, and the colour theme is a good enough guide. If you have one flavour you always come back to, pick the edition whose theme matches it and accept that the other three pods will be variations rather than copies. A four-flavour kit is a poor match for someone who wants the same taste every day, because you may find that you favour one pod and leave the rest in the tray.

The strength you choose applies to the whole kit, so all four pods share the same nicotine level. Unused pods keep well if you store them upright, cool and out of direct sunlight, but check the date on the pack and use them in good time rather than hoarding them for months.

Performance and puff delivery

Firm numbers first. UK rules limit a pod or tank to 2ml of e-liquid. If each pod in this kit holds the legal maximum, the four together carry up to 8ml. We do not have a verified manufacturer puff rating for this specific kit, so the figures below are our estimates, drawn from how comparable 2ml nicotine salt pods behave in everyday use.

  • Per pod: roughly 600 to 800 puffs for a typical mouth-to-lung user taking short, measured draws.
  • Per kit: roughly 2,400 to 3,200 puffs across the four pods. Several four-pod kits in this class are rated at 3,200 puffs overall, which fits the top of that range.
  • Per day: a user taking 200 puffs a day would get roughly 12 to 16 days from the kit. At 100 puffs a day, expect roughly 24 to 32 days.

Manufacturer ratings come from machine-drawn tests with short, even puffs. Real people draw longer, harder and less evenly, and 20mg users often take fewer puffs than 10mg users because each puff delivers more nicotine. Expect your own count to land inside that range or slightly below it, not above it.

The delivery character is mouth-to-lung. That means a tight, restricted draw that you hold in your mouth briefly before inhaling, which is closer to drawing on a cigarette than to the open, airy inhale of a sub-ohm tank. Vapour production is moderate. Throat hit is gentle at 10mg and noticeably firmer at 20mg. Flavour tends to be strongest across the first two thirds of a pod, then softens as the wick dries out.

The 'Ultra' in the name should not be read as a promise of bigger clouds or more power. Nothing in the product data suggests a different output from other Elf Bar pod kits, and we treat Ultra 50 as a line name rather than a performance claim. If you want dense vapour, this is the wrong category of device altogether.

The kit is draw-activated, so there is no warm-up and no button to hold. You inhale and it fires. Vapour is steady for most of the pod's life, and the end of a pod announces itself with muted flavour, thinner vapour or a warm, dry taste. When you notice that, stop and swap the pod rather than pushing through, because dry hits are unpleasant and do nothing for the coil.

Design and build quality

The device follows the slim, pocketable shape common to current pod kits: a flat-sided body that sits comfortably in a closed hand or a jeans pocket, with the pod seating into the top. It is made mainly of lightweight plastic with a coloured or matt finish, which keeps weight and cost down and is normal at this price. Do not expect the heft or the cold touch of a metal body.

  • Size and grip: small enough to palm and light enough to forget in a pocket. The flat profile can feel narrow if you have large hands.
  • Pod fit: a pod should seat firmly with no rattle. A loose fit is the most common build complaint on kits of this type, and it is worth checking the moment you unbox.
  • Controls: there are no buttons, because the device is draw-activated. That means nothing to lock or press by accident, and also no way to change power or airflow.
  • Indicator light: a small LED shows activation and status. Patterns vary between models, so use the leaflet as the reference for what each one means.
  • Pod window: most prefilled pods in this class are translucent, so you can judge the remaining e-liquid at a glance and plan your next swap.
  • Durability: a plastic shell survives pockets and bags without trouble but handles hard drops onto tile or pavement less well. A small case is worth having if you commute.

At £9.95 for a device plus four pods, you are paying for convenience and variety rather than premium materials. Judge it as a consumer gadget with a short working life, not as a long-term piece of kit. Finish quality is generally fine for the price, but check for a loose pod, a cracked housing or an odd smell when it arrives, and tell us promptly if anything looks wrong. A defect found on day one is much easier to put right than one found after a fortnight of use.

Battery and charging

The battery is built in and sealed, so you cannot swap it. Capacity for slim pod devices of this kind typically sits in the 400 to 600mAh range. We are not quoting an exact figure for this kit because we cannot verify it, and the pack or leaflet is the place to confirm. What matters in practice is how that capacity translates into pods.

As a working rule, a battery in that range powers roughly one 2ml pod's worth of vaping on a full charge, give or take your draw habits. Across a four-pod kit you should therefore expect to charge around four times, usually when you change pods. That is a convenient rhythm: top up when you swap a pod, not when the device has died halfway through a commute.

  • How to charge: use the USB port with a standard 5V adapter or a computer port. Most current pod kits use USB-C, but check the port on the unit.
  • How long it takes: for a battery this size, somewhere between 30 and 90 minutes depending on the charger.
  • Where to charge: on a hard, non-flammable surface, never on a bed, sofa or under a pillow. Do not leave it charging unattended overnight.
  • When to stop: unplug once it is full. Indicator behaviour while charging differs between models, so check the leaflet for what the light is telling you.
  • Temperature: avoid leaving it in a hot car or on a radiator, and avoid freezing conditions. Heat damages lithium cells over time and cold makes the device sluggish.
  • Damage: if the device swells, becomes hot to the touch, smells chemical or has a cracked body, stop using it, do not charge it and take it to a recycling point.

Lithium cells lose capacity as they go through charge cycles, but over the working life of a four-pod kit, which is a handful of charges, that wear is not something you will notice. The sealed battery does mean the whole device is finished once the pods are gone, which is why the recycling advice further down matters. If your charging habits are careless, a sealed lithium cell is the one part of this product that can turn a small problem into a serious one, so treat it with the same care you give your phone.

Pod and coil technology: what happens inside

In a prefilled pod system the heating coil is part of the pod. That is the single most important design fact about this kit: there is no coil to buy, prime, screw in or burn out separately. Every time you fit a new pod you are fitting a new coil, a new wick and a fresh supply of e-liquid in one sealed unit.

Pods in this class generally use a mesh-style coil, a flat metal mesh that heats across a wide surface rather than a thin wire wound around a wick. The practical benefits of mesh are a quicker response when you draw, more even heating and flavour that stays consistent for more of the pod's life. The trade-off is that a mesh coil is tuned for one job, mouth-to-lung vaping with nicotine salts, and it does not offer the flexibility of a refillable tank. We describe the coil as mesh-style on the basis of how this category of product is built, so the pack remains the authority on the exact specification.

  • Pod capacity: UK rules cap a pod or tank at 2ml, so each prefilled pod in this kit holds at most 2ml of e-liquid.
  • Strength limit: nicotine strength is capped at 20mg/ml across all legal vaping products in the UK.
  • Bottle limit: refill bottles of nicotine e-liquid are capped at 10ml. These limits come from the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016.
  • Packaging: products must carry a health warning and ingredient information, so read what is printed on your pack.

The e-liquid in these pods is nicotine salt rather than freebase nicotine. Salts are absorbed with a smoother throat hit at the same strength, which is why a 20mg salt feels softer than a 20mg freebase liquid would, and why pod kits can offer the legal maximum without it being punishing. It also means the liquid is formulated for low-power devices, so the pod should only ever be used in the device it was designed for.

Do not try to refill the pods. They are sealed, single-use units, and prying them open or injecting liquid risks leaks, a flooded coil, a burnt taste and nicotine liquid on your skin. When a pod is done, replace it. If you want a refillable system, that is a different category of product, and we cover how it compares in the value section below.

Choosing between 10mg and 20mg

Strength is the one decision on this page that changes how the kit feels, so it deserves more than a guess. Both options are nicotine salt, and both sit within the UK legal ceiling. 10mg/ml is 1% and 20mg/ml is 2%, the maximum permitted. The '50' in the model name has nothing to do with this scale.

  • 20mg (2%) is the usual choice for adults who smoke a regular amount or who are used to standard 20mg disposable vapes. It delivers nicotine efficiently, has a firmer throat hit and tends to satisfy with fewer puffs.
  • 10mg (1%) suits lighter or occasional users, social vapers, and anyone who finds 20mg harsh or who feels lightheaded or jittery on it. It is gentler, it lets you vape for longer without overshooting, and many people find the flavour easier to taste when the throat hit is not dominating.

Several things are worth bearing in mind before you choose. A lower strength does not simply halve your intake, because people tend to puff more often to compensate, and that drains the pods faster. If you pick 10mg and find yourself chain-vaping, you may be better served by 20mg and fewer puffs. If you pick 20mg and feel dizzy, nauseous or unwell, step down to 10mg.

Elf Bar's disposables were sold at 20mg for years, so if that is your reference point, 20mg is the like-for-like choice. Adults moving across from cigarettes or rolling tobacco commonly start at 20mg if they smoked a lot and at 10mg if they smoked a little, then adjust after the first pod. The strength you choose applies to the whole kit, so if you are unsure and want to test, remember that a 10mg kit and a 20mg kit are the same price.

Nicotine is addictive, and no strength is free of risk. This kit is aimed at adults who already use nicotine, not at people who do not. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a heart condition or other health concern, speak to a GP or pharmacist before using any nicotine product. Keep pods and devices away from children and pets, because the e-liquid is harmful if swallowed or if it gets onto skin.

Who it suits, and who should skip it

The kit is a good fit for these people.

  • Adults who want variety without buying four devices. One box covers several flavours and one charger.
  • Former disposable users. It keeps the grab-and-go convenience but swaps single-use plastic for a rechargeable device with replaceable pods, and it remains legal to sell.
  • People who value convenience over tinkering. No bottles, no coils, no wattage dial and no airflow ring.
  • Light to moderate users. If you get through a pod every few days, a kit lasts a couple of weeks and the cost per day stays sensible.
  • Anyone who wants a pocketable backup. It sits easily alongside a bigger main device or a refillable setup.

It is the wrong choice for these people.

  • Anyone under 18, and anyone who has never used nicotine. This is a nicotine product for adult users, full stop.
  • Cloud chasers and direct-to-lung vapers. The draw is tight and mouth-to-lung, and vapour output is modest.
  • Very heavy daily vapers. At several hundred puffs a day you would be reordering every week, and a refillable pod system would cost noticeably less over a month.
  • People who want one flavour only. A four-pod kit is built for variety. If you already know your flavour, a single-flavour pod pack is a more direct route.
  • Tinkerers. There is no adjustable power, no airflow control and no way to change the coil.
  • Anyone expecting a long warranty. This is low-cost consumer electronics, and it is priced and built as such.

If you are somewhere in the middle, ask yourself two questions. First, would you rather change a pod or fill a tank? If changing a pod sounds appealing, this format suits you. Second, do you enjoy rotating flavours or do you stick to one? If you rotate, the kit earns its place. If you stick to one, you will probably end up wishing you had bought a single-flavour product instead.

Setting it up, using it day to day, and recycling it

Setup takes under a minute, and most early problems come from skipping one of these steps.

  • Step 1, unbox. Check the device and pods for damage, and remove any protective film or plug from the pod and its contacts.
  • Step 2, seat the pod. Push the first pod in until it sits flush. If it rattles or lifts, remove it and try again.
  • Step 3, charge if needed. Some kits ship with only a partial charge, and a short top-up before first use avoids a dead start.
  • Step 4, prime. Take two or three gentle, short draws without inhaling fully, which lets the wick wet through. Skipping this on a fresh pod is the usual cause of a dry or burnt first taste.
  • Step 5, vape. Draw slowly for two to three seconds. The device fires as you inhale, so there is nothing to press. Pause between puffs.
  • Step 6, change pods. When flavour fades or vapour thins, pull the pod out, fit the next one and prime it as before.

A few daily habits make the kit last. Keep it upright when you are not using it, keep it out of heat, wipe the pod contacts with a dry tissue now and then, avoid draws longer than about four seconds, and leave a gap between puffs so the wick can keep up. Store pods and device out of reach of children and pets.

Disposal matters here because the device holds a lithium cell and the pods hold residual e-liquid.

  • Never put a spent pod or a finished device in general waste or in household kerbside recycling. Lithium cells can start fires in collection vehicles and sorting plants.
  • Take them to a vape recycling point. Many vape shops and supermarkets have take-back bins, and your local council household recycling centre will have a small electricals (WEEE) container.
  • Carry used pods in a bag rather than loose in a pocket until you reach a drop-off point.
  • Do not puncture, crush or burn any part of the kit.

Troubleshooting common problems

Most faults on pod kits are simple, and a minute of checking usually fixes them. Work through these in order before assuming the kit is faulty.

  • No vapour and no light. The battery is probably flat. Charge it for at least half an hour. If it still will not wake, try a different cable and adapter, then contact us.
  • Light flashes but nothing comes out. Usually the pod is not seated properly, its contacts are dirty or the pod is empty. Remove it, wipe the contacts and reseat it. Indicator patterns differ between models, so check the leaflet.
  • Weak flavour from a new pod. It probably has not been primed. Take a few gentle draws, wait a minute so the wick can saturate, and try again.
  • Burnt or hot taste. The pod is running dry, or you are drawing too long and too often. Pause for 30 seconds between long puffs. If the taste persists on a nearly empty pod, swap it instead of forcing it.
  • Gurgling or e-liquid in your mouth. Condensation or flooding. Wipe the mouthpiece, stand the device upright for a few minutes and take the next draw gently.
  • Leaking into a bag or pocket. Pressure changes, such as flights, hot cars and storing the kit on its side, are the usual causes. Wipe it clean and keep it upright. If liquid keeps escaping, replace the pod, and wash your hands if you have touched it.
  • Sluggish on a cold day. Cold thickens e-liquid and lowers battery output. Warm the kit in a pocket for a few minutes before use.
  • Pod will not fit or will not connect. Check that you are using pods designed for this device and not from a different Elf Bar line.
  • Will not charge. Try another cable and a different socket, check the port for lint and never force a plug in.
  • Hot, swollen or chemical smell. Stop using it immediately, keep it away from anything flammable, do not charge it, and take it to a recycling point. Tell us if it arrived like that.

If a fault survives this checklist, contact us with your order number and a short description or photo. Early reports are quick to resolve, and the more detail you give, the faster we can say whether it is a defect or a simple fix. We would rather hear about a problem on day one than lose track of it.

Value for money and how it compares

Every edition costs £9.95. Using our estimate of roughly 2,400 to 3,200 puffs per kit, that works out at about 0.3 to 0.4 pence per puff. At 200 puffs a day it costs roughly 62p to 83p a day. Those figures are estimates, but they give you a fair way to compare it with the alternatives below.

  • Elf Bar 600 Prefilled Pod Kit. The same brand in a single-flavour format, listed on our site from £3.99. It has a lower entry cost and is simpler, but you commit to one flavour and get fewer puffs from each device. It is the sensible pick if you already know what you like.
  • Elf Bar 4 In 1 Pod Kit. Our listing for the standard line shows a much lower price, but it is described as a refillable starter with a 0mg option, so it is a different product rather than a like-for-like cheaper version. We cannot point to a verified spec difference to show what the Ultra 50 adds, so compare the listings for strengths, contents and price instead of assuming that Ultra means a bigger battery or more puffs.
  • Lost Mary 4-in-1 Rechargeable Pod Kit. The closest competitor in format. Our listing rates it at 3,200 puffs, and it also comes in 10mg and 20mg. Flavour is the real tiebreaker, so choose the brand whose profiles you prefer.
  • IVG 2400 Rechargeable Vape Kits. Lower-priced, around £6.99 on our site, with a 2,400 puff rating and a single flavour per kit. Cheaper to try, but you give up the variety.
  • Refillable pod kits such as Aspire Gotek and OXVA XLIM. They cost more upfront and ask a little more of you, but running costs are far lower for heavy users, and they generate less plastic waste.

Our honest read is that the Elf Bar 4-in-1 Ultra 50 Prefilled Pod Kit is fairly priced for what it is, though it is not the cheapest way to vape. You are paying a small premium for four flavours, a recognisable brand and zero maintenance. Light to moderate users who like to rotate flavours will see that premium as reasonable. Heavy users, or anyone who settles on one flavour, will save money elsewhere.

A practical note on delivery: orders over £20 ship free in the UK and orders placed before 4pm are dispatched the same day. One kit at £9.95 is below the free-delivery line, and two kits come to £19.90, just short of it, so adding a small item will take you over. All stock is genuine and sold strictly to adults aged 18 or over.

Frequently asked questions

Which nicotine strength should I choose, 10mg or 20mg?

Choose 20mg if you smoke regularly or are used to standard 20mg disposable vapes, and 10mg if you are a lighter or occasional user or find 20mg harsh. Both are nicotine salt and both sit within the UK legal limit of 20mg/ml. A lower strength does not simply halve your intake because people tend to puff more often, so adjust after the first pod if it does not feel right.

How do I charge it and how long does it take?

The battery is built in, so you charge the whole device through its USB port using a standard 5V adapter or a computer port. For a slim pod battery of this class, expect somewhere between 30 and 90 minutes for a full charge, depending on the charger. Charge it on a hard surface, do not leave it unattended overnight, and check the unit for the exact port type and indicator behaviour.

Can I choose the flavours, or mix and match between editions?

Each edition comes with its own set of four flavours, so you choose the theme rather than the individual pods. The eight listings are the standard kit and the Drinks, Pink, Purple, Red, Special, Tropical and Yellow editions. If you want a different mix, buying two kits from different editions is the practical route, since the pods are designed for this device and we do not recommend using pods from other lines.

How long will the kit last?

On our estimate of roughly 600 to 800 puffs per 2ml pod, the four pods give around 2,400 to 3,200 puffs in total. At 200 puffs a day that is roughly 12 to 16 days, and a lighter user taking 100 a day could stretch it past three weeks. These are estimates rather than a manufacturer guarantee, and heavy draws or 10mg use will shorten it.

Is it good value compared with disposables?

Disposables can no longer be sold in the UK, so the realistic comparison is with other rechargeable pod kits. At £9.95 for a device and four pods, the cost works out at roughly 0.3 to 0.4 pence per puff on our estimate, which is fair rather than cheapest. Single-flavour pod kits and refillable systems can cost less to run, so here you are paying for variety and convenience.

Who should and shouldn't buy it?

It suits adult smokers and vapers who want a pocketable, low-maintenance kit with several flavours and no refilling. It is not for anyone under 18, non-smokers, people who want large clouds or adjustable power, or very heavy daily vapers who would finish a kit in under a week. If you are pregnant or have a health condition, speak to a GP or pharmacist before using any nicotine product.

Is the 50 in the name the nicotine strength, and is the kit legal in the UK?

No, the 50 is part of the model name, and the strengths on offer are 10mg and 20mg. UK law caps vaping nicotine at 20mg/ml, and because this is a rechargeable device with replaceable pods it is not a banned single-use disposable. Buyers must be 18 or over.

Can I refill the pods?

No. The pods are sealed, prefilled units with the coil built in, designed to be used once and then recycled. Opening them or injecting liquid risks leaks, a burnt taste and nicotine on your skin, so replace the pod instead. If you want a refillable setup, a refillable pod kit is the better route.

How much is UK delivery and when will it be dispatched?

Delivery is free on UK orders over £20, and orders placed before 4pm are dispatched the same day. A single kit at £9.95 is under the free-delivery line, and two kits come to £19.90, just short of it, so adding a small item takes you over. All stock is genuine and sold only to customers aged 18 or over.

What if my kit arrives faulty, and is there a warranty?

These are low-cost consumer electronics, so the practical protection is our faulty-on-arrival route rather than a long manufacturer warranty. Contact us with your order number and a photo or short description of the fault, and we will arrange a replacement or refund under our returns policy and your statutory rights. Opened vape products generally cannot be returned for change of mind, so check the edition and strength before you order.

Does the job perfectly

Flavour holds up all the way through. Some brands get weaker after a few days but this stays consistent.

Nice clean hit

Honestly, I was unsure at first but this has been great. Flavour is strong and lasts the full session. No complaints at all.
