Uwell Viscore 8000 Cherry Ice Pod Kit Overview

The Uwell Viscore 8000 Puffs Pod Kit in Cherry Ice is a rechargeable pod device supplied with a prefilled nicotine salt pod, listed here at £9.49 at the time of writing. You choose 10mg or 20mg, the flavour is Cherry Ice, and the kit arrives ready to use. There is no bottle to open, no tank to fill and no menu of settings to learn. For an adult smoker who wants the simplest possible route into vaping, that lack of fuss is the entire appeal.

Uwell is a manufacturer most UK vapers know from its refillable hardware, particularly the Caliburn pod systems and the Valyrian tanks. The Viscore line is the company's take on the sealed, prefilled format: the pod and its liquid are one unit, and you replace it rather than topping it up. If you have owned a Caliburn and found the filling routine a nuisance, this is the sort of device the same maker offers for people who would rather skip it. Everything Uwell makes is gathered on our Uwell brand page.

It helps to be clear about what the kit is not. It is not a single-use vape. Selling single-use vapes became illegal in the UK on 1 June 2025, and the Viscore is a reusable device with a rechargeable battery. If you arrived here after searching for a "disposable", the closest honest description is a rechargeable pod kit that behaves much the same in the hand: draw-activated, flavour-led and small. We list it among our pod kits for that reason.

Two UK rules frame everything else on this page. Nicotine e-liquid is capped at 20mg per millilitre, so the 20mg option is already the strongest strength that can legally be sold. And a prefilled pod can hold no more than 2ml of liquid, which matters a great deal when you read a large puff number on a box. The next section deals with that directly.

The quick facts, so you can see the whole product at a glance:

  • Format: rechargeable pod kit with a prefilled pod
  • Flavour on this page: Cherry Ice
  • Nicotine: nicotine salt, 10mg or 20mg per ml
  • Rated puffs: 8,000, which is a manufacturer estimate
  • Price: £9.49 per kit at the time of writing
  • Who it is for: adult smokers and existing vapers only

Reading the 8,000 Puff Rating and the 40K Tag

How far does eight thousand puffs actually go? Less far than the headline suggests, and it is worth working out why before you buy.

A puff rating is an estimate produced by the manufacturer. It comes from the volume of liquid in the pod and a test routine that assumes a fixed draw length, a fixed gap between draws and a fixed power output. Change any of those assumptions and the total moves with them. Nobody vapes like a test machine, so the figure tells you how the maker's method scored the product and says very little about how long your own pod will last. Short, gentle draws stretch a pod; long, hard ones shorten it.

Now set the UK rule beside the number. A prefilled pod sold here can hold no more than 2ml. Divide 2ml by 8,000 puffs and you get a quarter of a microlitre per puff, which is a tiny amount of liquid for a draw. We have not been given a verified pod capacity or the test method behind this listing, so we will not guess at either. The sensible reading is that 8,000 is a ceiling from a favourable test, not a promise about what a single pod will deliver.

Then there is the tag in the product title. The listing name and the flavour option both carry "40K Puffs", which does not match the 8,000 rating used everywhere else on this page. Forty thousand is exactly five times eight thousand, but the £9.49 price here is for one kit, and we plan around the 8,000 figure. If you want to be certain what a particular order contains before you pay, get in touch through our contact page and we will check it for you.

A more useful yardstick is days of use. As an illustration only, assuming 200 puffs a day:

  • All 8,000 puffs delivered: about 40 days, roughly 24p a day
  • Half of them, 4,000 puffs: about 20 days, roughly 47p a day
  • A quarter, 2,000 puffs: about 10 days, roughly 95p a day

Those numbers are arithmetic, not measurements. For a fair comparison, browse the wider range of big-puff vape kits, where devices are grouped by rating. A bigger number is only better value if you will use it before the flavour loses its appeal.

What Cherry Ice Actually Tastes Like

Cherry in a vape is rarely the cherry you would pick up from a fruit stall. It tends to be a confectionery version: sweet, a little syrupy and closer to a cherry cough sweet or a glacé cherry than to a tart, fresh fruit. Cherry Ice follows that pattern and adds a cooling layer on top, so the sweetness is what you notice first and the chill is what lingers.

It helps to take one draw in stages. On the inhale, expect a rounded cherry sweetness with a slight sharpness underneath, the sort of edge that stops it tasting like pure sugar. Through the middle of the draw the flavour sits on the tongue rather than hitting the throat. On the exhale the cooling agent arrives, giving a fresh, menthol-style finish that clears the palate and makes the next draw taste new. How strong the "ice" is varies between brands and even between batches, so read this as a guide and not a laboratory report. Taste is personal.

Because the cooling is the part people react to most, think about nicotine strength at the same time. A cool exhale feels sharper at 20mg than at 10mg, since both the nicotine and the cooling agent contribute to throat hit. If you are sensitive to that, try Cherry Ice at the lower strength first.

Who tends to like this flavour? Adults who want something clearly not tobacco, who enjoy sweets or cherry drinks and who find plain menthol a little austere. If you dislike sweet flavours in general, a straight mint will probably suit you better, and the wider Viscore range has some. The same kit comes in a long list of other flavours at the same price, from other ice fruits to sweeter blends such as Cherry Cola and Blue Razz Lemonade, so Cherry Ice is easy to swap for something different on your next order.

A few practical notes for keeping the flavour at its best:

  • Flavour is usually fullest through the first two thirds of a pod and fades towards the end.
  • Sweet liquids leave residue on the coil, so the last stretch can taste flatter than the first.
  • Cold weather mutes flavour. An inside pocket keeps the kit warm enough to taste true.

How a Prefilled Pod Kit Works

Strip away the plastic and a pod kit is three things: a battery, a pod and a sensor. The battery lives in the body of the device. The pod holds the liquid, a wick and a coil, all sealed into a single unit. The sensor notices when you draw on the mouthpiece. When it does, the battery sends current to the coil, the coil heats the wick and the nicotine salt liquid turns to vapour that you inhale. Stop drawing and everything switches off again.

Kits like this are normally draw-activated, which is why most of them have no fire button. If your unit has a button, the leaflet in the box takes priority. There is no wattage dial and no airflow ring either. Power, airflow and coil are fixed at the factory, which is exactly what makes the format simple and exactly what frustrates people who like to tinker.

We have not been given a verified coil specification for this listing, so we will not quote a resistance or name a material. What we can do is explain the common designs so the jargon means something. A round wire coil is a length of wire wound into a spiral: cheap and quick to heat, but prone to hot spots. A mesh coil presses a fine sheet against the wick across a wider area, which usually gives more even heating and steadier flavour from first draw to last. Whatever sits inside a Viscore pod, a good result needs even heat and a wick that keeps up with demand.

This is what the trade calls a closed system, and you will see the term on our closed pod vape kits page. Closed means you never fill it. The pod is the consumable, and its coil and liquid reach the end of their lives together. When the pod is finished you replace it, if a compatible one is listed, or you recycle the whole device. Do not assume that pods from other Viscore products fit this body. Check the listing for compatibility before you order.

Why do pods sometimes taste burnt? Because the coil is heating a wick that has not been resupplied. Chain vaping, a nearly empty pod or a hard draw on a fresh pod can each cause it, so leave ten or fifteen seconds between draws.

Unboxing and Your First Few Draws

Check the box before you open anything else. The pack should be intact, the pod should show no cracks or residue, and the nicotine warning and ingredients list should be printed on the packaging, as UK rules require. If anything looks damaged or is leaking, do not use it and tell us.

Then work through this order:

  • Remove every sticker and cap. Film over the mouthpiece or the airflow slots is the single most common reason a brand-new kit appears dead.
  • Seat the pod if it is separate. Push it in until it clicks. Do not twist or force it, and do not use a pod that rocks in its housing.
  • Charge if the first draw feels weak. A new device may arrive with only a partial charge.
  • Wait two or three minutes. The wick needs time to saturate, and a hard draw on a dry wick is how new coils get scorched.
  • Take two or three gentle draws. Keep them short, three or four seconds at most, with a pause in between.
  • Settle into your normal pattern. Even then, leave a few seconds between draws.

Technique matters more than people expect. Kits like this are built for mouth-to-lung vaping. Draw the vapour into your mouth over two or three seconds, hold it for a beat, then breathe it into your lungs as you would take a slow, deep breath. Long, forceful pulls do not improve anything. They drag more liquid through the coil than the wick can supply, they heat the coil harder than it needs and they shorten the life of the pod. A soft, steady pull gives better flavour and a longer-lasting pod.

A few habits for everyday handling are worth forming from day one. Keep the kit upright when you are not using it so liquid stays near the wick and away from the airflow path. Do not cover the airflow slots with your fingers while drawing. Never blow back through the mouthpiece, which can push liquid into the electronics. Carry the kit in a separate pocket or small case so pressure does not trigger the sensor. If the leaflet in the box ever differs from what we describe, follow the leaflet. For general questions about ordering and using your kit, our FAQ page is the quickest place to start.

Battery, Charging, Storage and Disposal

We are not going to print a milliamp hour figure for this kit, because we have not been given one we can verify and a guessed number is how spec sheets end up wrong. For context only, rechargeable pod kits in this size class commonly carry batteries somewhere in the several hundred mAh range, which is enough for a number of days of ordinary use between charges. Treat that as category background and not as a Viscore specification, and check the box or Uwell's own information for the real figure.

The device charges through a port on the body. Check which type yours has: current kits mostly use USB-C, but cheaper hardware sometimes does not. A standard 5V USB charger, such as a phone charger you already own, or a computer USB port is all it needs. Charge time for a battery this size is typically somewhere between under an hour and a couple of hours, and an indicator light usually shows when it is done.

Habits that look after the battery:

  • Charge it when it runs low and take it off the lead once it is full.
  • Do not use it while it is plugged in.
  • Charge on a hard, non-flammable surface, never on a bed, sofa or pillow, and never unattended overnight.
  • Stop using it and contact us if the body swells, gets unusually hot or the casing cracks.

Storage is mostly common sense. Keep the kit upright somewhere cool and dry, and out of reach of children and pets, because the pod contains nicotine. Do not leave it on a radiator or in a parked car on a warm day, since heat is hard on lithium batteries and thins the liquid enough to seep past a seal. Carry it in a small case or its own pocket, not loose with keys and coins. In winter an inside pocket keeps the battery warm enough to deliver properly.

At the end of its life the device counts as waste electrical equipment. It must not go in a household bin or kerbside recycling, where crushed batteries have started fires in collection vehicles. Take it to a council household waste recycling centre or to a retailer that offers vape take-back, and do not try to open the device or remove the battery yourself.

Choosing Between 10mg and 20mg Nic Salt

Nicotine strength is the one choice on this page you can get wrong in either direction. The kit comes in 10mg and 20mg, and both use nicotine salt, a form of nicotine that feels smoother at a given strength than the freebase nicotine used in traditional e-liquid. The number is milligrams of nicotine per millilitre of liquid, so 20mg means 2 per cent nicotine by volume.

UK law caps nicotine e-liquid at 20mg per millilitre. The 20mg option is therefore as strong as anything legally sold, and the 10mg option is exactly half of it. Here is a general guide, not medical advice:

  • 20mg: usually the starting point for people who smoke around ten or more cigarettes a day, or who want one soon after waking. The higher strength tends to settle cravings in fewer draws.
  • 10mg: usually a better fit for lighter smokers, for people stepping down from 20mg and for occasional vapers who want a gentler throat hit.

Strength is only half the story, because what you absorb depends on strength and on how much vapour you inhale. A kit with a tighter draw moves less vapour per puff and can carry a higher strength comfortably. Cherry Ice adds a second variable: the cooling agent sharpens throat hit, so the same flavour feels more intense at 20mg.

Signs the strength may be wrong:

  • Dizziness, nausea, headaches or a pounding pulse after a few draws suggest it is too high.
  • Constant draws without ever feeling settled suggest it may be too low.
  • A harsh throat hit that does not ease after a couple of days suggests trying 10mg or a flavour without a cooling agent.

If you later move to a refillable device, bottled nicotine salt e-liquids are sold in the same style of strengths, so you can carry your preference across. Be aware that this kit is not sold in a nicotine-free version. If you want no nicotine at all, a prefilled kit at 10mg or 20mg is not the right product.

Nicotine is addictive. This kit is for adult smokers and existing vapers, not for people who have never smoked. Anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding or living with a heart condition should speak to a health professional before using any nicotine product.

Who Should Buy This Kit, and Who Should Skip It

Not everybody will get on with a sealed pod kit, and it is better to know which group you are in before ordering than after the parcel lands.

The Viscore Cherry Ice kit is a good fit if:

  • You are an adult smoker moving to vaping and want the least complicated start.
  • You have tried refillable kits and found filling, leaking or coil changes more trouble than they are worth.
  • You want a spare device for the bag, the car or a weekend away that needs no setup.
  • You like trying different flavours without committing to a bottle or a multipack of pods.
  • You prefer a low upfront cost, and £9.49 is modest for a rechargeable device.

You should look elsewhere if:

  • You vape heavily all day. Sealed pods cost more to run than bottled liquid, and over a few months a refillable setup works out cheaper. Our refillable vape pods are the better route for that kind of use.
  • You want control. Wattage, airflow and coil are fixed here. If you like tuning the draw, you need an adjustable device.
  • You want a tobacco flavour. The Viscore range leans towards fruit, mint and sweet profiles.
  • You want zero nicotine. The strengths on offer are 10mg and 20mg only.
  • You are worried about waste. A battery plus a sealed pod creates more waste each month than a refillable pod you top up.

There are also people who should not buy this kit at all:

  • Anyone under 18. It is illegal to sell vaping products to under 18s and we verify age on every order.
  • Non-smokers and people who do not already use nicotine. Do not start.
  • Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, unless a health professional has advised otherwise.
  • People with heart conditions or other health concerns that nicotine can affect, without checking with a doctor first.

If you remain unsure, the simplest test is convenience against cost. If you want to start today with one device, one flavour and nothing to learn, the kit fits. If you expect to vape heavily for the next year, work out the running cost before committing.

Honest Pros and Cons of the Viscore 8000

Here is the short version in two lists, followed by what we make of it.

What works in its favour

  • No filling, no coil changes and nothing to learn, which is the whole selling point of the format.
  • A modest entry price of £9.49 for a rechargeable device with the pod included.
  • A draw-activated design that suits people moving across from cigarettes.
  • A sweet and cool flavour that is easy to like and obviously not tobacco.
  • A slim, pocketable body with no loose parts to lose.
  • Two nicotine strengths, so you can match the kit to your habit.
  • A maker with a long record in pod hardware.

What counts against it

  • The 8,000 rating is an estimate, and the 2ml pod limit means real-world life is shorter than the number implies.
  • Higher running costs than a refillable kit for anyone who vapes heavily through the day.
  • No control over power, airflow or coil.
  • A fruit-and-sweet-led range with no tobacco flavour and no nicotine-free option.
  • Sugar residue on the coil means the last part of a pod can taste flatter.
  • A battery and a sealed pod generate more waste than a refillable pod that you top up.
  • Battery capacity and coil resistance are not published in the information we hold, so we cannot quote them.

Weighing those up, the kit does one thing well, which is removing effort. It does not beat a refillable on cost, it does not match an adjustable device for control, and its puff rating should be read as an upper estimate. For a first device, a spare or a low-commitment way to try a cherry flavour, it is a reasonable choice. For a heavy daily vaper it is probably not the cheapest route, and we would rather say so now than have you discover it after a month.

The cons list is not a reason to avoid the kit. It is a reason to buy it for the right job, which is simplicity, and to be realistic about everything else.

Troubleshooting Weak Flavour, No Vapour and Leaks

A kit that seems dead has most often been left with a sticker over the airflow slots, a pod that is not fully seated or a flat battery. Work through the list below before deciding anything is faulty.

  • No vapour on the first draw. Remove all film and caps, press the pod in until it clicks, then charge for half an hour and try again.
  • Weak or muted flavour. Early on, the wick may still be saturating, so give it a few minutes. Late in a pod it usually means the liquid is running low. Cold weather also dulls flavour.
  • Burnt or harsh taste. Stop for a few minutes, then take shorter draws with longer gaps. If the taste does not clear, the coil has been scorched and that pod is finished.
  • Gurgling or spitting. Condensation has gathered in the airflow path. Wipe the mouthpiece and contacts, then take two or three gentle draws away from your mouth.
  • Liquid on the outside of the pod. Wipe the pod and the battery section clean and check the seating. A pod that keeps leaking after cleaning should not be used.
  • Flashing indicator light. This commonly signals low battery or a protection cut-out. Charge the device and try again. The leaflet explains the pattern on your unit.
  • Cuts out mid draw. Many kits shut the coil off when a single draw runs too long. Release and take a shorter pull.
  • Nausea or lightheadedness. That is more nicotine than your body wants. Stop, sit down, drink some water and use less.

There are also things you should never do. Do not open the pod or try to refill it, because it is a sealed unit. Do not try to repair the battery or charger. Do not use a device that is swollen, hot to the touch or damaged.

If none of that sorts it out, contact us with your order number and a short description or photo of the problem. A genuine fault is something we deal with directly. Faulty items can be returned within 30 days for a replacement or refund, although opened pods cannot be returned for hygiene and safety reasons, so please let us know about a problem before you give up on the kit.

Value, Alternatives and Where to Go Next

At £9.49 the Viscore Cherry Ice kit asks for a small outlay, and the useful question is what that buys in practice. The arithmetic from earlier still applies: a fully delivered 8,000 puffs would work out at roughly 0.12p a puff, but that is a floor, because it assumes every puff arrives. Even at a quarter of the rating, the daily cost stays modest. For a smoker who replaces cigarettes entirely, the kit costs far less than a packet of twenty.

Against the alternatives, the picture looks like this:

  • Refillable pod kits, such as Uwell's own Caliburn range. Cheaper to run over months, because liquid costs a fraction of a sealed pod, and you can pick any flavour including tobacco styles. The price is filling, the odd leak and carrying a bottle.
  • Other prefilled kits. The idea is identical: a rechargeable battery and a sealed pod. Because the legal pod size is the same everywhere, compare the kit price, the price of replacement pods and the flavours you actually like.
  • Higher puff ratings. Our 10,000 puff vapes and the bands above them run into the same 2ml ceiling. A larger number on the box does not mean a larger pod in the UK, so judge on days of use and price per pod.

If you are trying to cut costs, keep an eye on our vape deals page, where multibuys and bundles are listed. Offers change, so we will not quote one here, but a deal on a bundle can bring the average price per kit down.

Think about what you would do next as well. If you like Cherry Ice and find yourself finishing pods in a couple of days, the cost of a sealed kit may start to bite, and a refillable device with bottled liquid is the natural step. If you like the format but want a different taste, the rest of the Viscore range is the cheapest experiment. If you want the same convenience with a bigger headline rating, remember that the real-world difference may be smaller than the numbers imply.

A fair summary: this is a straightforward, flavour-led prefilled kit from a maker with real pod experience. Buy it for ease. Do not buy it expecting 8,000 puffs from a single pod, and do not expect it to beat a refillable on running costs.

Delivery, Returns and Age Verification

Before you add Cherry Ice to your basket, here is how ordering works. Orders placed before 4pm on a weekday are dispatched the same working day, and every order goes out tracked in discreet plain packaging. Standard delivery is free across the UK on orders over £20 and takes two to three working days. Orders under £20 pay £2.99 for standard delivery, and next-day delivery is available for £4.99 if you order before 4pm on a weekday. Our delivery and returns page sets out the current terms in full.

A single kit at £9.49 falls below the free delivery threshold, and so do two kits at £18.98. Three kits come to £28.47 and qualify, which makes a multi-flavour order or a shared basket the simplest way to avoid the delivery charge. We sell genuine stock only, and we would encourage you to be wary of anyone offering nicotine products at suspiciously low prices.

On returns, the rule is shaped by hygiene and safety. We cannot accept returns on opened e-liquids, disposables or pods, and because this kit is a sealed prefilled product, you should treat it the same way once opened. If something arrives faulty or incorrect, that is a different matter. Faulty items can be returned within 30 days for a replacement or refund, and you can start the process by contacting us with your order number.

Age verification is not optional. It is illegal to sell nicotine vaping products to anyone under 18, and we take underage sales prevention seriously. Every visitor confirms their age on entry, and every order is verified electronically. Where a check is inconclusive, we may ask for ID before dispatch. You can read how this works on our age verification page. Please do not order if you are under 18, and do not buy on behalf of anyone who is. Our products are not suitable for non-smokers, under 18s, or anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.

One last practical step: check the flavour and strength before you pay. The basket shows Cherry Ice in either 10mg or 20mg, and a quick look takes seconds, whereas a wrong strength arriving at your door cannot be undone once the pod is opened.

Frequently asked questions

How many puffs does the Uwell Viscore 8000 Cherry Ice give?

The rating is 8,000 puffs, which is a manufacturer estimate worked out from its own test method. UK rules limit a prefilled pod to 2ml of liquid, so the real figure depends on how long and how often you draw. Many people find a pod lasts anywhere from a day or two to a week or more. Treat 8,000 as a way to compare kits, not as a guarantee of what a single pod will deliver.

Why does the title say 40K puffs when the rating is 8,000?

The listing name and the flavour option both carry a 40K Puffs tag, which does not match the 8,000 rating we use on this page. The price of £9.49 is for one kit and we plan around 8,000. Forty thousand is simply five times that figure. If you want to be certain what an order contains before you pay, contact us and we will check it for you.

What does Cherry Ice taste like?

Expect a sweet, slightly syrupy cherry, closer to a cherry cough sweet than to fresh fruit, with a cooling finish on the exhale. The cooling agent can make the throat hit feel sharper at 20mg than at 10mg. How strong the ice effect is varies between brands and batches, and taste is personal, so treat this as a guide and not a promise.

Should I choose 10mg or 20mg?

As a general guide, 20mg suits people who smoke around ten or more cigarettes a day or want one soon after waking, while 10mg suits lighter smokers and people stepping down. 20mg per ml is the UK legal maximum, so nothing stronger is sold. If you feel dizzy, sick or jittery, move to the lower strength. This is general information, not medical advice.

Is this a disposable vape?

No. It is a rechargeable pod kit with a prefilled pod, which is the reusable format that remains on sale in the UK. Single-use vapes became illegal to sell on 1 June 2025. You charge the device through its port, and when you have finished with it you should take it to a recycling drop-off point instead of putting it in the bin.

Can I refill the pod with my own e-liquid?

No. The pod is a sealed prefilled unit and is not designed to be opened or refilled. Trying to do so can damage the pod, cause leaks and void any warranty. If you want to use your own e-liquid, you need a refillable pod kit, where you choose the liquid and top the pod up yourself.

How do I charge the Viscore 8000 and how long does it take?

Charge it through the port on the body using a standard 5V USB charger or a computer port. A battery this size usually takes somewhere between under an hour and a couple of hours, and an indicator light normally shows when it is finished. Charge it on a hard surface, do not leave it plugged in unattended and do not use it while it is charging.

Is the Viscore 8000 good value at £9.49?

It is a low entry price for a rechargeable device with a prefilled pod included, and the daily cost stays modest even if you get only part of the rated puffs. It does cost more to run than a refillable kit for a heavy daily vaper, because sealed pods cost more than bottled liquid. It makes most sense for people who want zero setup.

How quickly will my order arrive and when is delivery free?

Orders placed before 4pm on a weekday are dispatched the same working day. Standard delivery is free over £20 and takes two to three working days, orders under £20 pay £2.99, and next-day delivery is £4.99 when you order before 4pm on a weekday. Every order is verified electronically for age, and we may ask for ID before dispatch if a check is inconclusive.

What if my kit arrives faulty, and can I return it?

Contact us with your order number and a short description or photo. Faulty items can be returned within 30 days for a replacement or refund. For hygiene and safety reasons we cannot accept returns on opened pods, so tell us about any problem early. Any manufacturer warranty depends on the terms in the box, so check the leaflet that comes with your kit.
