Aspire Minican 3 Pro Kit: What You Are Buying

The Aspire Minican 3 Pro Kit is a refillable pod kit from Aspire, priced at £19.99 and sold in ten colours. It is a device, not a ready-made vape. There is no e-liquid in the box, which is why the listing shows 0mg, and you add your own liquid to the pod before you use it. That single fact shapes everything else about the kit, from running costs to flavour choice to how you look after it.

Think of it as a small rechargeable starter system. Inside the body sits a battery that charges over USB-C. Clipped into the top is a pod that holds your e-liquid and carries an integrated mesh coil, the part that turns liquid into vapour. The listing describes the design as compact and pocket-friendly, and it is aimed at everyday use rather than hobbyists who enjoy tinkering. You are not building coils or turning wattage dials. You fill, you draw, you recharge.

It sits in our pod kits range, alongside other Aspire models and rivals from other brands. What separates a refillable kit from a disposable is mostly economics and control. A disposable is thrown away once it runs flat or empty. A kit like this keeps going for as long as the battery and pod hold up, and the ongoing spend is simply the bottle of liquid you choose. You also decide the flavour and the strength, which a sealed device never lets you do.

The stock is genuine and sourced through UK distributors, and the product is UK TPD compliant, meaning the pod and any bottle you pair with it follow the national limits on capacity and nicotine strength. Everything here is strictly for adults aged 18 or over, and nicotine is addictive, so this kit is intended for adult smokers and existing vapers rather than anyone who has never used nicotine. The rest of this guide covers what the kit does, what it does not, and how to get on with it comfortably.

How the Pod, Mesh Coil and Battery Work Together

Start with the battery, because it is the easy part. It sits in the body of the device and recharges through a USB-C port, the same connector found on most current phones and tablets. When you draw on the mouthpiece, the device senses the airflow and powers the coil. Stop drawing and the power stops. Most compact pod kits work this way, and the listing does not describe a separate firing button, so expect to simply inhale rather than press anything. If you are new to vaping, that is the least fiddly way in.

The pod is the next piece. It is a small cartridge that clips into the top of the device, holds your e-liquid and carries the coil. The Minican 3 Pro uses an integrated mesh coil. Integrated means the coil is built into the pod, not a separate part you screw in and prime yourself. Mesh means the heating element is a thin woven screen rather than a loose wire wrap, which spreads heat across a wider surface. Many people associate mesh with a rounder, more even flavour and fewer harsh spots as the liquid heats.

The practical consequence is that the pod is a consumable. Over time the coil wears, residue builds up, and flavour fades or turns slightly burnt. At that point you replace the pod instead of rebuilding anything. Our range of refillable vape pods is the place to look, and the rule is always to match the exact model name printed on the pod you need.

One last point on capacity. As a UK TPD product, the pod cannot hold more than 2ml, and bottles of nicotine e-liquid are capped at 10ml. We do not list the exact pod volume or the coil resistance for this kit, because neither is in the product information, so treat any figure you see elsewhere with some caution. What you can rely on is the principle: a small pod, frequent top-ups and no tools required. That is a fair trade for a device that slips into a jacket pocket without a bulge.

Specifications We Can Confirm and Those We Cannot

Vape kits attract spec sheets, and not every sheet on the internet is reliable, so here is what the product information for this kit actually states.

  • Brand: Aspire
  • Type: refillable pod kit, sold without e-liquid
  • Coil: integrated mesh coil in the pod
  • Charging: USB-C, rechargeable
  • Liquid: built for nicotine salt e-liquid, with a 50/50 VG/PG ratio noted on the listing
  • Colours: ten to choose from
  • Price: £19.99
  • Compliance: UK TPD compliant, genuine stock

Now the numbers we deliberately leave out: battery capacity in mAh, the exact pod volume, coil resistance in ohms, power output and charge time. None of them appear in the product data we hold, and an invented figure would only mislead you. If a specific number matters for your decision, the printed information in the box is the authority.

It is worth asking whether those numbers would change your mind anyway. A bigger battery figure does not automatically mean a better experience, and a low resistance is not a virtue in itself, because it depends on how the whole device is tuned. What tends to matter day to day is simpler. Does it charge reliably? Does the pod seal well? Does the draw feel comfortable? Can you get replacement pods when you need them?

The 50/50 note is the most useful practical detail on the list. It points to the style of liquid the coil is designed around: balanced blends rather than very thick, high-VG mixes. Nic salts commonly come in balanced ratios, which is one reason they pair so naturally with small pod kits like this one. Whatever you buy, read the label on the bottle first, since ratios vary between brands and ranges.

Choosing Between the Ten Colours

Ten options sounds like a lot for a pod kit, but remember what they are. The choices on this listing are colours, not flavours, because the kit contains no e-liquid. Your options are Azure Blue, Black, Dark Green, Dark Purple, Green, Lilac, Orange, Pinkish Red, White and Yellow. The colour you pick changes how the device looks and nothing else, so you can choose purely on taste without worrying about performance.

A few practical thoughts may help. Darker shades such as Black, Dark Green and Dark Purple tend to hide fingerprints, pocket lint and minor scuffs, which suits anyone who carries the kit loose in a coat or bag. Lighter shades such as White, Lilac and Yellow look fresh out of the box but show marks sooner, and a quick wipe with a soft cloth keeps them tidy. Bright colours like Orange, Pinkish Red and Azure Blue are easier to spot at the bottom of a rucksack or on a crowded desk, which is a small but real advantage for something this compact.

If you share a home or workplace with other vapers, a distinctive colour also prevents mix-ups, particularly when everyone has a different strength of liquid loaded. The same goes for anyone buying a spare. Many adults like to keep a second kit charged and ready for when the first is mid-refill or has a worn pod, and choosing two different colours makes it obvious which is which.

Finally, check the selector before you add the kit to your basket. Colours are sold from individual stock, so the one you click is the one that ships, and swapping after dispatch is not possible once the parcel is on its way. If your first choice is unavailable, the page will tell you, and you can pick the closest alternative rather than waiting. Nothing about the internals changes between colours, so you are never trading performance for appearance.

Filling and Priming Your First Pod

Wash your hands, clear a flat surface and give yourself five minutes. Getting the first fill right makes the difference between a smooth start and a flooded mouthpiece. The exact layout of the fill point is shown in the instructions inside the box, so follow that diagram where it differs from the general steps below.

  • Unpack and inspect. Remove any protective film or plastic from the pod and the device, and check that the pod is clipped in firmly.
  • Open the fill point. Pod kits normally have a small plug or cover that lifts or slides away. Do not force it.
  • Fill slowly. Tilt the bottle and let the liquid run down the inside wall of the pod, stopping comfortably below the top. Avoid covering any central tube or airflow hole.
  • Close and wipe. Press the plug back in, then wipe away any drips from the pod and the metal contacts.
  • Wait. Leave the pod to stand upright for several minutes so the cotton around the coil soaks through. Skipping this step is the usual cause of a burnt first taste.
  • Start gently. Take two or three short, light draws before settling into your normal rhythm.

If the first few puffs taste dry or harsh, stop and give the pod more time rather than pressing on. A dry coil can scorch the wick, and a scorched wick cannot be repaired. It is far better to wait another five minutes than to ruin the pod on day one.

For later fills, top up before the pod is completely dry rather than waiting for the flavour to vanish. Little and often keeps the wick saturated and the coil lasting longer. Switch flavours only when the pod is nearly empty, since a fresh liquid poured on top of an old one produces a muddled taste for a while.

E-Liquid That Suits This Kit

The liquid you choose does more for your experience than the colour of the shell. The listing says you can use any nicotine salt e-liquid, and that is the sensible place to begin. Nicotine salt e-liquids are formulated to feel smooth even at the strengths most adult smokers choose, and they work well at the gentle power levels of small pod devices. They are sold in 10ml bottles, which is the largest size UK rules allow for nicotine liquid, so you can try a flavour without a big commitment.

Sampling is where the 5 for £10 e-liquid offer comes into its own. The first weeks with a new kit are mostly about finding a flavour you can live with, and a handful of bottles at a fixed price lets you do that cheaply. Fruit blends, menthol and ice, and classic tobacco profiles all behave differently in a mesh pod, so it pays to try one of each style before you stock up.

A few guidelines save frustration:

  • Check the ratio. The listing notes 50/50 VG/PG, so balanced liquids are the safe choice.
  • Be careful with very sweet dessert blends. Heavily sweetened liquids tend to leave residue on a small coil more quickly, so expect to replace pods sooner if you vape them all day.
  • Keep one flavour per pod. Run the pod down before switching, otherwise tastes blend together.
  • Buy matching strengths. Mixing bottles of different strengths makes it hard to know what you are inhaling.

Large short-fill bottles, which are usually sold nicotine-free in oversized containers for adding your own nicotine shots, are not a natural match here. They are designed for bigger tanks, and the extra mixing step is rarely worth it for a pocket pod. Stick with ready-to-use 10ml bottles, label them clearly if you decant, and store them upright and out of reach of children and pets.

A Nicotine Strength Guide for Refill Users

UK law caps nicotine e-liquid at 20mg per millilitre, and nicotine salts are most often sold at 10mg and 20mg, with lower strengths and nicotine-free options also available. Because this kit ships without liquid, the strength is entirely your decision, which is both a freedom and a responsibility. This is general information for adults, not medical advice, and anyone with a health condition or who is pregnant should speak to a doctor or pharmacist first.

As a rough guide, adults switching from heavier smoking often start at 20mg because it satisfies more quickly, while those who smoked lightly, or who already vape, frequently find 10mg more comfortable. Nic salts feel smoother than traditional freebase liquids at the same strength, so a higher number can feel deceptively easy. Take shorter, gentler draws at first and see how you feel before reaching for a stronger bottle.

The easiest approach is to start at the lower end of what you think you need and adjust. If you feel lightheaded, queasy or jittery, the strength is too high for you. If you find yourself chain-vaping and still unsatisfied, a step up may be reasonable. Because the pod is refillable, changing strength costs nothing more than a different bottle, which is one of the quiet advantages over a sealed disposable where you are stuck with whatever is printed on the box.

Some people use a kit like this to reduce nicotine over time, stepping down through the strengths. If that sounds like you, the nicotine-free e-liquid range is worth knowing about. Nicotine-free liquid works in the same pod and lets you keep the habit of vaping and the flavour without any nicotine at all. Nicotine is addictive, and if you do not currently smoke or vape, you do not need to start.

Charging, Battery Habits and Safe Storage

A rechargeable device deserves a few sensible habits, and none of them take much effort. The Minican 3 Pro charges through USB-C, so a spare cable is easy to borrow almost anywhere. A cable is normally supplied with kits of this type, but if yours is missing from the box, any decent USB-C lead will do. We do not quote a charge time or a battery capacity because neither is in the product information, so the simplest guide is your own routine: plug it in when the draw feels weak or when you pass a socket with a spare moment.

Use a reputable plug or a computer port rather than an unbranded charger of unknown quality, and avoid leaving the device charging unattended for hours or overnight. Unplug it once full. Keep the charging port clean and dry, and if it clogs with fluff, clear it gently with something non-metallic. If the kit ever becomes unusually hot, swollen or damaged, stop using it immediately and contact us rather than carrying on.

Storage affects leaks more than most people expect. Keep the device upright where you can, away from radiators, sunny windowsills and parked cars in summer. Heat thins liquid and expands the air trapped in the pod, pushing droplets out through the airflow channels. Flights and long drives cause the same problem through changes in pressure, so travel with the pod only partly filled, or carry the bottle and the empty pod separately. Airlines also have their own rules on vape devices, which generally require them in hand luggage rather than the hold, so check yours before you travel.

In a bag or pocket, a small pouch stops keys and coins scuffing the shell or bridging the contacts. Keep bottles and spare pods well away from children and pets. When the battery eventually reaches the end of its life, do not throw the kit in a household bin. Take it to an electrical recycling point so the battery is handled properly.

Honest Pros, Cons and Who Should Skip It

Every vape kit is a trade-off, and this one is no exception. Here is how the pluses and minuses stack up in plain terms.

  • Pro: low running cost, because after the £19.99 kit you only pay for liquid.
  • Pro: complete control over flavour and nicotine strength.
  • Pro: rechargeable over USB-C, so there is no sealed device to bin when the battery empties.
  • Pro: compact, pocket-friendly shape in ten colours.
  • Con: e-liquid is not included, so you must buy it separately.
  • Con: more hands-on than a prefilled device, with filling, priming and the occasional wipe-up.
  • Con: the small TPD-limited pod means regular top-ups through the day.
  • Con: the pod is a consumable, so factor in the cost of replacements.

Who suits it? Adult smokers moving to vaping who want to experiment with flavours and strengths, existing vapers wanting a neat second device, and anyone watching their spending over several months. If you enjoy a little routine, the fill-and-draw rhythm quickly becomes second nature.

Who should look elsewhere? If you want a device that works the instant it leaves the box, with a puff rating printed on the side, a disposable vape is simpler. If you like the idea of a rechargeable body but want to avoid handling bottles altogether, browse closed pod kits, where the pods arrive already filled and you swap them in. Neither is better in absolute terms; they suit different temperaments. Be honest about how much faff you will tolerate on a Monday morning, and choose accordingly. A refillable kit rewards patience and a little tidiness, while a sealed device rewards people who simply want to press on with their day without thinking about bottles, wicks or spare pods at all.

How It Compares With Other Aspire Kits

At £19.99, the Minican 3 Pro matches the Aspire BP Stik Pod Kit on price and sits at the upper end of Aspire's refillable pod kits on this site. At the time of writing, the Aspire Pixo Neo Pod Kit is £18.99, the Pixo Max Pod Kit £18.95, the Gotek Pro 2 Pod Kit £17.99, the Loomix Pod Kit £17.95, and the little Gotek Nano Pod Kit just £11.99. They are all refillable starter kits, so the practical logic of filling, priming and recharging carries across the whole family.

That is the useful insight: the price gaps are small, and what really separates these devices is design, shape, colour choice and personal feel. We will not claim performance differences we cannot verify from the product data, so the best way to choose is to be clear about priorities. If budget is paramount, the Nano is the cheapest way in. If you want a wide palette of colours, the ten options on this kit are among the most generous. If you value a familiar brand with a track record in compact devices, any of them fits.

Everything is gathered on the Aspire brand page, where you can compare current prices side by side. A pleasant side effect of staying within the brand is that your bottle collection transfers from one kit to the next, since all of them take ordinary nic salt.

Looking further up, the vape kits category covers a far wider range from other makers, including devices with adjustable output and larger batteries. Those suit people who have outgrown a simple draw-activated pod and want finer control. For most newcomers, though, that step comes later, if it comes at all. A small, dependable pod kit is a perfectly good place to settle, and many adults never feel the need to move on from it.

Troubleshooting, Cleaning and Replacement Parts

Most problems with small pod kits come down to four things: priming, flooding, power and a worn coil. Work through them in that order and you will fix the majority of issues without contacting anyone.

  • Weak or no vapour. Check the pod is seated firmly, the device is charged and there is liquid above the fill line. If the pod is freshly filled, give it a few more minutes to soak.
  • Burnt or harsh taste. This usually means a dry or worn coil. Top up if low, take shorter draws, and replace the pod if the taste persists. Very sweet liquids shorten pod life.
  • Gurgling or leaking. The pod is probably overfilled or has been stored warm. Wipe the mouthpiece, hold the device upright and blow gently through it to clear the airflow path before the next draw.
  • Device not responding. Dry the contacts with a soft cloth, reseat the pod and try a different cable and charger.

For cleaning, wipe the shell and mouthpiece with a dry or very slightly damp cloth. Never soak the device, and never push anything sharp into the airflow holes or contacts. A cotton bud lightly moistened with water is fine for the metal contact points; let them dry fully before reassembling.

Pods wear at different speeds depending on how much you vape, the liquid you choose and how well you prime them. As a rough rule, replace the pod when flavour has dropped noticeably despite a fresh fill, not simply because it has been in use for a certain number of days. Always check that a replacement matches the exact model name for this kit.

If something still seems wrong, especially a fault that appeared straight out of the box, get in touch with our team and include your order number plus a clear photo. That turns a vague complaint into something we can fix in a single reply.

Delivery, Returns and Age Checks Explained

Everything on this site is for adults only, and you must be 18 or over to buy. Checkout is age-verified, so expect to confirm your age before an order goes through. Our age verification page explains what the process involves and why we run it.

Here is a neat detail about this particular kit. At £19.99 it sits exactly one penny below the free delivery threshold. UK orders over £20 qualify for free Royal Mail Tracked 24 delivery, while smaller baskets pay £1.99. Because the kit contains no liquid, you will almost certainly want to add a bottle or two anyway, and doing so tips the order well past the line. A DPD Next Working Day option is also available at £3.99, dropping to £2.99 on orders over £20 and free over £100. Weekday orders placed before 4pm are dispatched the same day. Full and current terms live on our shipping page, which is worth a look if you need a firm cut-off for a particular date.

Returns follow a simple rule. Unopened, unsealed products can be returned within 14 days. Opened consumables, which covers e-liquid and used pods, cannot be returned for health and safety reasons. If an item arrives faulty, it is replaced free of charge, and the quicker you tell us, the quicker we can sort it. Hold on to the packaging until you have confirmed the kit works as expected, because it makes any replacement far simpler.

A few practical points keep things smooth. Use an address where someone can accept a tracked parcel, double-check the colour in your basket, and make sure your details match the name on your payment method. All stock is genuine, sourced from UK distributors, and parcels leave in discreet plain packaging. If anything is missing or damaged on arrival, tell us promptly with your order details and a photo.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Aspire Minican 3 Pro Kit come with e-liquid?

No. It is sold as a device-only refillable kit, which is why the listing shows 0mg. You will need to buy your own e-liquid separately, and the flavour and strength are entirely up to you. A 10ml nicotine salt bottle is the usual pairing, and nicotine-free liquid works just as well. Check the contents of your basket before you pay so that the liquid arrives with the kit and you can start using it straight away.

Is it a disposable, and how many puffs does it give?

It is not a disposable. It is a rechargeable, refillable pod kit, so there is no fixed puff count. How long it lasts between top-ups depends on how often and how deeply you draw, and on the liquid you choose. Because you fill the pod yourself, you decide when to refill rather than waiting for a sealed device to run dry. If you would prefer a ready-filled device with a stated puff rating, our disposable vapes and prefilled pod kits are the better fit.

What e-liquid can I use in it?

The listing says you can refill the pod with any nicotine salt e-liquid, and it notes a 50/50 VG/PG ratio, so balanced liquids are the safest choice. Nic salts are sold in 10ml bottles, which is the largest size allowed for nicotine liquid in the UK. Avoid very thick liquids not designed for pod devices, and always read the bottle label before buying. If you are unsure, our team can point you towards suitable options.

What nicotine strength should I choose?

That is a personal decision. UK nicotine e-liquid is capped at 20mg, and nic salts are commonly sold at 10mg and 20mg, with lower strengths and 0mg also available. Many adults who smoked heavily start at 20mg, while lighter users often find 10mg more comfortable. Because the pod is refillable, you can change strength simply by buying a different bottle. Nicotine is addictive, so if you do not currently smoke or vape, you do not need to use it.

How do I charge it and how long does it take?

The kit charges over USB-C, so any standard USB-C cable and a reputable plug or computer port will work. We do not quote a charge time or battery capacity because neither is given in the product information. A sensible habit is to charge it when the draw feels weak, avoid leaving it plugged in unattended for long periods, and unplug it once it is full. Stop using it if it ever becomes hot or swollen.

Does the colour I pick change how it performs?

No. The ten colours are Azure Blue, Black, Dark Green, Dark Purple, Green, Lilac, Orange, Pinkish Red, White and Yellow, and the choice affects appearance only. The pod, coil and battery are the same whichever shade you buy. Darker colours tend to hide marks, lighter ones show scuffs sooner, and brighter ones are easier to find in a bag. Select your colour on the product page before adding it to your basket.

How often will I need to replace the pod?

There is no fixed schedule, because pod life depends on how much you vape, how sweet your liquid is and how well you prime each fill. The signs that a pod is due for replacement are flavour that stays weak after a fresh fill, a persistent burnt taste or leaking that does not stop. When that happens, buy a pod that matches the exact model name for this kit rather than guessing from the shape alone.

Can I take it on a plane or abroad?

Airlines and countries each have their own rules, so check with your carrier and your destination before you travel. As a general rule, rechargeable vape devices are expected in hand luggage rather than the hold, and the pod should be only partly filled to reduce leaks caused by pressure changes. Pack bottles in a sealed bag. Some countries restrict or ban vaping products entirely, so research local laws well before you go.

How much is delivery and when will it arrive?

Weekday orders placed before 4pm are dispatched the same day. UK orders over £20 qualify for free Royal Mail Tracked 24 delivery, and smaller baskets pay £1.99. DPD Next Working Day costs £3.99, falling to £2.99 on orders over £20 and free over £100. The kit costs £19.99 on its own, so adding a bottle of e-liquid usually takes your order past the free delivery line. See the shipping page for current terms.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

Unopened and unsealed products can be returned within 14 days. Opened consumables, including e-liquid and used pods, cannot be returned for health and safety reasons. If the kit arrives faulty, we replace it free of charge, so contact us as soon as possible with your order number and a photo. Keep the original packaging until you are happy that everything works, as it makes any exchange or replacement far easier to arrange.
