What the Freemax 904L X2 Mesh Coil 0.5Ohm (Pack of 3) actually is

The Freemax 904L X2 Mesh Coil 0.5Ohm (Pack of 3) is a set of three replacement coil heads for Freemax tanks that use the 904L X-series. It is not a vape kit, a tank or a pod. It is the consumable part inside the tank that heats your e-liquid, and it is the component that wears out first. If you already own a compatible Freemax tank and the flavour has gone flat, the vapour has turned thin or every pull carries a burnt edge, a fresh coil is almost always the fix, and this pack gives you three of them in a single order.

The product name packs in a lot of information, so it is worth reading it left to right. Freemax is the manufacturer, a long-established name in refillable tanks and mod kits. 904L is the grade of stainless steel used for the heating mesh. X2 is the model code within Freemax's X-series of coil heads, so treat it as an identifier rather than a power rating. Mesh describes the construction: a flat, perforated sheet rather than a round wire wrapped around cotton. 0.5Ohm is the electrical resistance, which tells you how the coil behaves at a given power setting. Pack of 3 is simply the quantity.

Key facts at a glance:

  • Brand: Freemax
  • Type: replacement mesh coil head (consumable accessory)
  • Series and model: 904L X-series, X2
  • Resistance: 0.5 ohm
  • Heating element: 904L stainless steel mesh with cotton wicking
  • Pack size: 3 coil heads
  • Suits: compatible Freemax refillable tanks, used with a regulated mod or kit that lets you set wattage

Because this is a refill part, there is no nicotine in the box, no battery to charge and no e-liquid included. You supply the tank, the device and the liquid. What you are paying for is a predictable, consistent heating element, and the convenience of having spares ready so a worn coil never leaves you without a working vape.

One point to settle before you order: coil heads are tank-specific. A coil that looks similar is not necessarily interchangeable, and forcing the wrong head into a tank can damage the threads or cause leaks. Check the compatibility notes on the listing, and compare the code printed on the side of your current coil with the name of this one. If you are unsure, send our team the name of your tank and we will confirm before you buy. You must be 18 or over to purchase vaping products in the UK.

Mesh coil technology and what 904L stainless steel brings

Traditional coils are made from a round wire, usually kanthal or stainless steel, wound into a spiral and threaded through a plug of cotton. They work, and they are cheap to make, but the wire only touches the cotton along a thin line, which means the heat is concentrated in a few spots. Liquid right next to the wire is vaporised quickly, while liquid a few millimetres away barely warms up. The result is uneven heating and a flavour that can drift between pulls.

A mesh coil replaces that spiral with a thin, flat sheet of metal punched or etched with a dense grid of tiny holes. The sheet is folded into a cylinder and pressed against the cotton, so a much larger area of the wick is in contact with the heating element. In practical terms that gives you three things. Heat spreads more evenly across the wick, vapour production starts faster after you press the button, and the same wattage produces more vapour than a thin wire of equal resistance would manage.

Why 904L? The number is a stainless steel grade. 904L is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with a high nickel and chromium content and added molybdenum and copper. It was developed for demanding chemical environments where ordinary stainless steel would corrode, and it is also used in some high-end watch cases. For a vape coil, the appeal is resistance to corrosion and a stable surface that does not add an unwanted metallic note to the vapour as it ages. Freemax uses it as the selling point of this coil family, and the grade is a reasonable choice for a part that spends its whole life soaked in liquid and heated thousands of times.

Some honest caveats are worth stating:

  • Nickel content. Stainless steel contains nickel, and 904L contains a good deal of it. Anyone with a known nickel sensitivity should be cautious and take advice before using any stainless steel coil.
  • Temperature control. Do not assume a stainless steel mesh coil is intended for temperature control mode. Run it in ordinary wattage mode unless the packaging says otherwise.
  • Wicking. The mesh is only as good as the cotton behind it. Coils of this type rely on cotton wicking and on the side ports that let liquid in. If those ports are blocked or the tank is run too low, the grade of steel makes no difference and you will get a dry hit.

In short, 904L is a sound material choice rather than a magic ingredient. The gains you notice day to day come from the mesh shape, the wicking and the resistance, which we cover next.

Resistance, power and vapour delivery at 0.5 ohm

Resistance, measured in ohms, describes how hard a coil resists the flow of electricity. The practical effect is that a lower resistance draws more current at the same voltage, produces more heat, and therefore makes more vapour. A 0.5 ohm coil sits in the middle ground. It is lower than the 0.8 to 1.2 ohm heads found in most small pod kits, and higher than the sub-0.3 ohm heads built for high-power cloud-focused setups. It is a moderate-power coil designed for a moderate-power device.

You can work out roughly what a battery will deliver with a simple formula: power in watts equals voltage squared divided by resistance. On an unregulated fully charged cell at about 4.2 volts, a 0.5 ohm coil would draw around 35 watts. At 3.7 volts, the nominal figure for a lithium-ion cell, it would be closer to 27 watts. On a regulated device you simply choose the wattage, and the electronics supply the correct voltage. The current is then the square root of the power divided by the resistance, so at 25 watts a 0.5 ohm coil draws roughly 7 amps. That is well within the capability of a quality cell in a regulated device, but it is a good reason to use only genuine batteries from reputable makers with a suitable continuous discharge rating.

Setting your wattage. The manufacturer prints a recommended wattage range on the coil or its packaging, and that range is the authority, not a forum post. As a general principle, start at the bottom of the printed range, take a few pulls, and only move up in small steps of one or two watts if you want more warmth or more vapour. Pushing a mesh coil above its range scorches the cotton, shortens its life and ruins the flavour, and it rarely gives you a better experience.

What the vapour is like. Expect a moderate, comfortable amount of vapour, noticeably more than a pod coil, noticeably less than a 0.15 ohm head at high power. The draw is usually a restricted style, somewhere between a tight mouth-to-lung pull and a loose direct inhale, depending on how you set the airflow ring on your tank. Many ex-smokers find this is the natural territory for them: enough vapour to satisfy, not enough to overwhelm.

How long does a tank last? Tanks sold in the UK hold a maximum of 2 ml. At 25 to 30 watts, a steady user can finish a tank in a couple of hours. Many people at these power levels report using something in the region of 2 to 5 ml of liquid per day, though the figure varies widely with wattage, liquid thickness and how often you vape. A single coil might handle roughly 30 to 60 ml of liquid before it tires, which is a rough guide rather than a promise.

Flavour profile and how this coil compares with older designs

Flavour is the main reason people move from round-wire coils to mesh, and it is the thing to judge this coil on. Because the mesh heats the wick evenly, the liquid is vaporised at a consistent temperature across its whole surface. That tends to give a cleaner, more defined taste, where the different notes in a fruit, menthol or dessert liquid are easier to pick out and less likely to blur into a generic sweetness.

The 904L steel is chosen to stay neutral. You should not taste the coil itself. What you should taste is the liquid, with a smooth ramp-up as the mesh warms. At 0.5 ohm and a moderate wattage, the vapour is warm rather than hot, which suits flavours that can turn harsh when overheated, such as ice and menthol blends and sharp citrus.

What you can reasonably expect, in rough terms:

  • Fruit liquids: clear and juicy, with top notes that stay distinct. Berry, tropical and citrus profiles are where mesh coils generally earn their keep.
  • Ice and menthol: a clean, even cooling effect without the sharp spike that a hot, uneven coil can produce.
  • Dessert and bakery liquids: rich and full, but also the most demanding on a coil. Sweeteners in these liquids caramelise on the mesh and shorten its life.
  • Tobacco liquids: good depth at moderate wattage, though a very low wattage can leave them tasting thin.

Compared with round wire: a good mesh coil is smoother and more consistent, and it lasts a similar time or a little longer. Round wire coils can feel punchier on the first few pulls because the wire heats fast and hard, and some people prefer that, but the flavour is usually less even from one pull to the next.

Compared with ceramic coils: ceramic heating elements are known for a very clean, consistent taste and long life, but they usually cost more and respond more slowly. A mesh head like this one is faster to fire and generally cheaper per coil.

Break-in matters. A new coil often tastes slightly flat or cottony for the first tank. That is normal. The cotton needs to be fully saturated and the mesh needs a few heat cycles. By the second tank, the flavour should settle into its proper character. If a coil never improves, the issue is usually a priming mistake, the wrong wattage or a liquid that is too thick for the power you are using.

Be realistic about expectations. No coil can fix a poor liquid, and no coil will make a flavour taste like something it is not. This head is a faithful messenger: it delivers what is in the bottle.

Design and build quality of the coil head

A coil head is a small component, and most of its quality is hidden from view. Still, there are things you can check when the pack arrives and when you open it.

Each head is built around a metal housing that locates it in the base of the tank. Inside the housing sits the cylinder of 904L mesh, packed against a sleeve of cotton. Along the side of the housing there are wicking ports, which are the small openings that let liquid flow from the tank reservoir to the cotton. At the base there is a silicone seal and a contact point that connects to your device through the tank. A well-made head has an evenly formed mesh with no creases or flattened sections, cotton that is white to pale cream and not scorched or yellowed from the factory, and a seal that sits flat without twisting.

What good manufacturing looks like:

  • The mesh is uniform and not dented or kinked.
  • The cotton fills the ports without bulging out or leaving visible gaps.
  • The silicone seal is intact and sits flush, with no cuts or flash.
  • The resistance reads close to the stated 0.5 ohm on your device when cold. A reading within a few hundredths of an ohm is normal, because small differences come from temperature and contact resistance.
  • The three heads in the pack look the same as one another.

Handling. Do not touch the mesh or cotton with your fingers. Skin oils can transfer onto the cotton and affect how it wicks. Keep spare coils in the original pack, somewhere dry and away from heat and direct sunlight, until you need them. A pack of three is useful here: you open one, and the other two stay sealed and clean.

Counterfeit and clone risk. Popular coil lines are copied. A clone head might look identical but use cheaper steel, poorly formed mesh or thinner cotton, and it can leak, taste harsh or fail in days. We recommend buying from an established UK retailer so you know what you are getting. If a price looks too low to be real, it probably is. As with any consumable, there will also be a degree of batch variation. If the first coil from a pack fails within a day, check how you primed and seated it before blaming the part, but do contact us if it keeps happening.

None of this makes the coil a premium item. It is a mid-range consumable, built to be replaced, and judged by how consistently it performs rather than how it looks.

Compatibility, batteries and charging: getting the setup right

A coil does nothing on its own. It needs a tank to hold the liquid and a device to supply power, so the question to answer before you order is what you are going to run it on.

Tank compatibility. The 904L X-series heads are made for particular Freemax tanks. Take the tank you own, look at the code printed on the side of the coil currently in it, and match that to this listing. Tank manuals and the compatibility notes on the product page list the heads each tank accepts. Do not guess from a photo. Two coils can look nearly the same and still have different threads, heights or seals.

Device requirements. To get the most from a 0.5 ohm mesh coil, use a regulated device where you can set the wattage, such as a variable wattage box mod or a kit with an adjustable output. Fixed-output, button-less pod devices are designed for their own pods, and a refillable tank coil is not something to attach to them. If your mod has a minimum resistance, 0.5 ohm is comfortably above any normal limit.

Battery guidance for removable-cell mods.

  • Use only genuine cells from a recognised brand, rated for the current your device will draw. For a 0.5 ohm coil at typical wattages, the current is modest, but a quality cell with a decent continuous discharge rating is still the right choice.
  • Keep cells in a plastic case when carrying them. Loose cells in a pocket with keys or coins can short circuit.
  • Inspect the wrap before each use. If the cell wrapper is torn, retire and recycle it.
  • Never mix cells of different brands, ages or charge levels in a multi-cell device.

Charging. Devices with built-in batteries usually charge over USB-C. Use the cable supplied or a reputable replacement, plug it into a standard 5 volt charger or a computer port, and do not leave it charging unattended or overnight. Remove the tank if your device manual advises it. If a battery gets hot while charging, becomes swollen or smells odd, unplug it and stop using it. With external chargers, use one that matches the cell chemistry and keep it on a hard, non-flammable surface.

Capacity of the tank. Refillable tanks sold in the UK are limited to 2 ml of liquid, and nicotine e-liquid bottles are limited to 10 ml. That is why refilling is a routine part of owning a tank, and why a pack of three coils is a practical way to keep running.

Choosing e-liquid and nicotine strength for a 0.5 ohm mesh coil

A 0.5 ohm mesh head runs at moderate power, which is exactly the kind of setup where choosing the right nicotine strength makes or breaks the experience. Too high and the throat hit becomes unpleasant. Too low and you will find yourself chain vaping and still wanting a cigarette.

UK limits you should know. In the UK, e-liquid containing nicotine is limited to a maximum strength of 20 mg/ml, sold in bottles of no more than 10 ml, and refillable tanks are limited to 2 ml. Larger bottles are available as shortfills, which contain no nicotine, and you add nicotine shots separately. For example, a 50 ml shortfill plus one 10 ml shot of 18 mg/ml gives you 60 ml at about 3 mg/ml. Single-use disposables have been banned in Great Britain since 1 June 2025, which is one reason many former disposable users have moved to a tank and replacement coils.

Matching strength to the coil. The following is general guidance, not medical advice.

  • Nicotine salts, 10 to 20 mg/ml: smoother at higher strengths and often paired with 50/50 liquids. At 0.5 ohm and moderate wattage, many people find 10 mg/ml is plenty and that 20 mg/ml is better suited to lower-wattage pod devices.
  • Freebase nicotine, 3 to 6 mg/ml: a common range for tank setups at 25 to 35 watts. Light smokers or those cutting down often sit at 3 mg/ml. Heavier smokers starting out often begin at 6 mg/ml.
  • Zero nicotine: suitable if you already use a nicotine-free routine or want to step down. Bear in mind that vaping at 0 mg/ml will not satisfy cravings.

Why wattage and strength interact. More wattage means more vapour per puff, and more vapour means more nicotine delivered. If you raise the wattage, you may want to lower the strength. If you drop the wattage to save coil life, you may feel the need for a higher strength.

VG and PG. Mesh coils with open wicking ports handle a wide range of liquids, from a balanced 50/50 mix to high-VG blends around 70/30. Very thick liquids may struggle to saturate the cotton at lower wattages, which shows up as a muted flavour or a dry edge. Very thin liquids can seep and leak on a tank with large ports. If you are unsure, start with a 60/40 VG/PG blend and adjust.

If you are looking for help to stop smoking entirely, your local NHS stop smoking service can offer support alongside a vape.

Who this coil is for, and who should look elsewhere

A pack like this makes sense for a specific kind of vaper, and being clear about that helps you avoid an order that does not suit you.

This coil is a good fit if you:

  • Already own a compatible Freemax tank and need to replace a worn head.
  • Are a smoker or ex-smoker looking for a moderate, throat-friendly vape at around the mid-20 to mid-30 watt range.
  • Care more about flavour clarity than about producing very large clouds.
  • Want a few spares so you are not caught out when a coil dies on a Sunday evening.
  • Have moved away from disposables and want to keep running costs low with a refillable setup.

You may want to look elsewhere if you:

  • Do not own a compatible tank. This coil will not fit a Vaporesso, Smok, Uwell or other brand of tank, and it is not a pod.
  • Want maximum vapour at high wattages. A lower-resistance head, usually in the 0.15 to 0.3 ohm range, is built for that, and a 0.5 ohm head will not give you the same output.
  • Prefer the simplicity of a sealed pod system or a pre-filled device. A refillable tank needs priming, refilling and eventual coil changes.
  • Have a known sensitivity to nickel. Stainless steel mesh is not suitable for everyone.
  • Have never smoked or vaped. Vaping is intended for adult smokers who want an alternative. If you do not use nicotine already, there is no benefit in starting.

Experience level. This is not a beginner-hostile product. Fitting a coil is straightforward, and a 0.5 ohm head is more forgiving than an extreme sub-ohm one. That said, you do need to be comfortable with a few basics: setting wattage, priming a coil, and refilling a tank without flooding it. If you are brand new to refillable tanks, read the how-to section below before you begin, and consider starting at the lowest wattage in the printed range.

A note for people switching from disposables. A disposable asks nothing of you apart from inhaling. A tank asks for a little routine: filling, priming and replacing a coil every week or two. The trade-off is lower running costs, much less waste, and the ability to choose any liquid and nicotine strength you like. A pack of three coils covers a good stretch of that routine.

How to fit, prime and break in a new coil

Fitting a coil takes a few minutes, and the care you put into priming it decides how long it lasts. Dry hits and burnt cotton on the first pull are almost always the result of skipping this step.

  • Step 1, power down. Turn the device off, or lock the fire button, and remove the tank if your design allows. Empty any remaining liquid from the tank into a bottle, a sink or onto tissue.
  • Step 2, remove the old coil. Unscrew the base or release the coil according to your tank manual and pull the old head out. Dispose of it safely.
  • Step 3, clean the tank. Rinse the tank, base and threads in warm water. Dry everything thoroughly with a lint-free cloth or leave it to air dry. Moisture in the tank affects flavour and can cause spitting.
  • Step 4, check the new head. Remove it from the pack without touching the mesh. Look at the cotton and the silicone seal to confirm they are intact.
  • Step 5, seat the coil. Insert it fully and tighten gently by hand. Do not use tools and do not force it. If it will not go in smoothly, stop and check that it is the right model for your tank.
  • Step 6, prime. Drip a few drops of e-liquid directly onto the exposed cotton through the wicking ports and a drop or two into the central opening. You want the cotton visibly damp but not drowned.
  • Step 7, fill the tank. Fill carefully to just below the maximum line, avoiding the central chimney. Keep the tank upright while filling.
  • Step 8, wait. Leave the tank for 5 to 10 minutes. This gives the liquid time to soak through the cotton. Thicker, high-VG liquids may need a little longer.
  • Step 9, start low. Set your device to the lowest wattage in the recommended range. Take two or three gentle draws without pressing the fire button to pull liquid through, then fire in short pulses of a couple of seconds.
  • Step 10, ramp up slowly. Increase the wattage in one-watt steps over the next several pulls until you reach your preferred setting, staying within the printed range.

Break-in period. Expect the first few pulls to taste faintly of cotton. This clears quickly. If it does not, let the tank sit a while longer and lower the wattage.

Keeping it running. Do not let the tank run low. Once the liquid falls below the wicking ports, the cotton starts to dry out, and every pull then scorches it. Refill when you are around a third full. Clean your tank when you change coils, and if you switch between very different flavours, give the tank a quick rinse so the old taste does not linger.

Troubleshooting: gurgling, leaks, dry hits and burnt taste

Most coil problems have simple causes. Work through the likely ones before you decide a head is faulty.

  • Burnt or acrid taste. Usually a dry or scorched coil. Causes include poor priming, vaping with the tank nearly empty, using too much wattage for the coil, chain vaping so the cotton cannot re-saturate, or liquid with a heavy sweetener load. A scorched coil does not recover, so replace it, and next time prime longer and lower the wattage. Taking a pause of 15 to 20 seconds between pulls helps the wick catch up.
  • Dry hit. A harsh, hot, unpleasant pull. This means the cotton did not have enough liquid. Check the liquid level, give the tank time to soak after filling, and consider a thinner liquid if you are using a very high-VG blend at low power.
  • Gurgling or spitting. Often a sign of condensation or flooding. Make sure the coil is seated properly, wipe any excess liquid from the chimney, and check that the airflow is not blocked. A small amount of gurgling right after filling usually settles in a minute or two.
  • Leaking. Check that the coil is screwed in fully and that the silicone seal is not twisted or cut. Check the tank for cracks and ensure the threads are clean and dry. Overfilling and low-viscosity liquid can also cause weeping around the airflow slots.
  • Weak or muted flavour. The coil may be reaching the end of its life, or the cotton may be coated in residue from sweeteners. If it is still new, check the wattage and the VG/PG ratio of your liquid. If you have been using the same coil for a few weeks, replace it.
  • Device shows atomizer short, check atomizer or no atomizer. The device cannot read the coil. Remove the tank and reseat it, make sure the contact pin is clean, and ensure the coil is screwed in fully. Test the tank on another compatible device if you have one.
  • Resistance reads wrong. A coil that reads far from 0.5 ohm after being fitted and allowed to settle may have a poor contact. Re-seat it and check again. If it still reads wrongly, it may be a faulty coil.
  • Coil dies within a day. Re-check your priming, your wattage and your liquid. If all of those are fine, contact us with your order number and a note of your setup so we can look into it.

Signs a coil is simply finished. Flavour that fades even after a fresh fill, a persistent faint burnt note, darkened and gunked-up cotton, reduced vapour, or gurgling that never settles are all signs that it is time to swap. With normal use, most people replace a coil roughly every one to three weeks. Sweet, dessert-style liquids shorten that time, and unsweetened or lightly sweetened ones can extend it.

Value for money, lifespan and honest comparisons

A fair way to judge a coil pack is the cost per week of use. Divide the pack price by three to get the price of one coil, then divide that by the number of weeks it lasts. If a coil gives you around two weeks, a pack of three covers roughly six weeks, and your coil budget over a year is a handful of packs. That compares well against single-use alternatives, which are now banned in Great Britain anyway, and against pod systems where you are throwing away a plastic cartridge each time.

What affects lifespan:

  • Wattage. Higher power wears the cotton and mesh faster.
  • Liquid sweetness. Sweeteners such as sucralose leave residue that clogs the mesh.
  • VG ratio. Thick liquids can struggle to wick at low power, while very thin liquids can flood.
  • Vaping habits. Chain vaping heats the coil with little recovery time.
  • Priming. A well-primed coil lasts noticeably longer than a rushed one.

How it compares, fairly.

  • Against other Freemax heads: lower-resistance Freemax meshes deliver more vapour at higher power but burn through liquid and coils faster. The 0.5 ohm head is the quieter, more economical option within the range.
  • Against Vaporesso GTX, Smok and Aspire mesh coils: these are well-regarded alternatives from other major brands, often available in a wider spread of resistances. The catch is that they only fit their own tanks. If you own a Freemax tank, there is no practical comparison to make, because these are the heads that fit. If you are still choosing hardware, it is worth comparing the coil ecosystems before you commit to a tank.
  • Against generic or clone coils: clones can be cheaper, but quality is inconsistent, and some use poor materials. A saving of a pound or two is not worth a leaking tank.
  • Against ceramic coils: ceramics offer a very consistent flavour and longer life but cost more per head.

Honest limitations. This is a niche resistance. If you want maximum vapour at high power, a 0.5 ohm head is not the right tool. Coils are consumables, so lifespan varies between users, and a coil that works well for one person may last half as long for someone vaping sweet liquids at higher power. The pack-of-three format is good for stock-keeping but offers no discount if you only need one.

Overall, the value case rests on being the correct and available part for your tank, delivering consistent flavour at a reasonable cost per week, and being easy to keep stocked.

Buying in the UK: delivery, returns, recycling and the rules

Buying vape accessories in the UK comes with a few rules and practical points worth knowing.

Age. You must be 18 or over to buy vaping products. Expect age verification at checkout or on delivery, and be aware that couriers may ask for proof of age.

Delivery. Orders are dispatched to UK addresses. Delivery options, costs and cut-off times are shown at checkout and on our shipping information page, so you can see them before you pay. Because coils are small and light, they pair easily with other items, and combining a coil pack with your usual e-liquid in one order is a straightforward way to save on delivery. Keep a spare pack in the drawer, so you never wait on a courier with a dead coil.

Returns and faulty items. If an item arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, contact customer services with your order number and a few photos. Your statutory rights under UK consumer law apply. Please note that for hygiene reasons, coils that have been opened, fitted or used generally cannot be returned unless they are faulty, so check compatibility before you open the pack. The returns page sets out the exact terms.

Recycling and disposal. Please do not put used coils or batteries in the ordinary bin. Spent coils are small components made of metal and cotton, and they carry residue of e-liquid. The tidy route is to collect them in a small container and take them to a retailer take-back point or a household waste recycling centre that accepts vape waste. Batteries must always be recycled separately at a battery recycling point. If you are not sure what your local site takes, check with the council before you go. Rinse out empty e-liquid bottles and recycle them where plastic recycling is accepted.

Why refillable systems matter now. Single-use disposable vapes were banned in Great Britain from 1 June 2025, and the market has moved towards refillable tanks, rechargeable pods and replaceable coils. A pack of three mesh coils is a small part of that shift: it keeps a reusable device running rather than adding to the pile of throwaway plastics and batteries.

Storage. Keep coils and e-liquid out of reach of children and pets, away from heat and sunlight, and store spare batteries in a case. Nicotine is addictive, and vaping products are intended for adults who currently smoke.

Frequently asked questions

What nicotine strength should I use with the Freemax 904L X2 0.5Ohm coil?

At 0.5 ohm and a moderate wattage, most people choose either 3 to 6 mg/ml freebase or 10 mg/ml nicotine salt. Light smokers or those cutting down often start lower, and heavier smokers may start at the higher end. The UK maximum for e-liquid is 20 mg/ml, but that strength is generally better suited to low-power pod devices than to a tank at 25 to 35 watts.

How do I charge the device this coil runs on?

The coil itself has no battery, so it does not charge. Your mod or kit does, usually over USB-C with the cable supplied. Do not leave a device charging unattended or overnight, never use damaged cables or cells, and unplug it if it becomes hot or swollen.

Will this coil fit my tank, and does it come in other resistances?

It only fits Freemax tanks that accept the 904L X-series X2 head, so check the code on your current coil and the compatibility notes on this listing before ordering. Freemax makes other resistances within its coil families for different tanks. Browse our Freemax coil range or message us with your tank name and we will point you to the right one.

How long does one coil last?

Most people replace a coil every one to three weeks. Sweet dessert liquids, high wattage and chain vaping shorten that, while lightly sweetened liquids, lower power and good priming extend it. The pack of three therefore covers roughly a month and a half to several months.

Is a pack of three good value?

Divide the pack price by three for the price per coil, then by the weeks each coil lasts. For a refillable tank this normally works out well below the running cost of repeatedly buying single-use devices, which are now banned in Great Britain. Buying a pack also means you always have a spare ready.

Who should buy this coil, and who should not?

It suits adult smokers or ex-smokers who own a compatible Freemax tank and want a moderate, flavour-focused vape. It is not for non-smokers, for anyone without a compatible tank, for people with a nickel sensitivity, or for cloud chasers who need a much lower resistance.

Can I use this coil with temperature control?

Do not assume so. Stainless steel mesh coils are normally run in standard wattage mode, and temperature control should only be used if the packaging or tank manual explicitly says the coil supports it. Using the wrong mode can scorch the cotton.

Do you deliver to the UK, and how fast?

Yes, we dispatch to UK addresses, and you must be 18 or over to buy. Delivery options, prices and cut-off times are shown at checkout before you pay. Coils are small, so they can be combined with other items in one order.

What if my coil is faulty, and can I return it?

If a coil arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, contact us with your order number and photos, and your statutory consumer rights apply. For hygiene reasons, coils that have been opened, fitted or used generally cannot be returned unless they are faulty, so confirm compatibility first. The returns page has the full terms.

How do I dispose of used coils?

Do not put them in household waste with batteries. Collect spent coils in a small container and take them to a retailer take-back point or a household waste recycling centre that accepts vape waste, and recycle batteries separately at a battery drop-off point.
